I'm a fan of Panera Bread; I'm super happy that they opened a location in Lubbock. I've been here several times and am never disappointed. Make sure to sign up for their rewards program! I got free bagels for a month through it! This time I got the half sandwich and half salad. For the salad I chose the Thai Peanut Chicken and the sandwich I got was the Chipotle Chicken. I love this option because the salad is HUGE for a "half salad". Overall, I love coming here for a nice lunch or dinner since the food is tasty and fresh! read more

Every time I've gone to this Panera there's something wrong - the sandwiches have too much in the way of condiments and everything is sliding off, the cheese melts out the sides causing a huge mess of a sandwich. Half the time when I order through the drive thru I arrive at the window and they tell me X and Y aren't actually available and they need to replace it - and they've already swiped my card so I've already paid for something I didn't want. It's been extremely disappointing every time so I've given up. Thankful the new one on Milwaukee seems to get orders right and they actually have what's on the menu. I don't know if it's the same owner/managers for each franchise but the people handling the one on the loop need to do better. They're hurting the reputation. read more

Horrible Service!!! Ordered online to have it delivered since I needed to work thru lunch to get the thing done. Placed the order at 12 pm it finally got delivered cold as it took them 20min to prepare my order but apparently don't care how long it rides in a car on a cold day. when I call to talk to the manager 30min after I received the notice its on it way she told me she is busy and the driver had to make 8 stops it will be there next no, it wasn't it took another 20 min. Should not take 70min!! I understand everyone has busy bad days but as a Manage, it's her job to make it right when they screw up not tell me she is busy and doesn't care. read more

Went through the drive through today, lady was very rude. She told us to wait a second so we were talking about what to order. We wanted to do 3 separate orders and she overheard us and rudely said "We can only do 2 separate orders. I asked for a smoothie and she said the blender was broken. We tried to get the new broccoli mac and cheese, she said they did not have it. This item was advertised on their menu in a big photo and sign. How do they not have it? We tried to get breakfast, she said it is unavailable. We overheard her tell a customer behind us in line that they do not have brownies today either. How sad is that? This panera honestly is the worst. Do not even waste your time. It is worth the drive to go to another location. I love panera and enjoy their items, but this location is a disgrace to the Panera name and brand! Haven't been in a panera in years, so I was excited to come here and still see some of my favorites like the Greek Salad with Quinoa and a variety of baked goods! Because I was indecisive as usual I decided to do their pick two with the Greek Salad and the Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich. Jacob was so sweet and took the time to tell me what was on the sandwich--turkey, bacon, spring lettuce, gouda, and a secret signature sauce! I cannot wait to eat! And I love that their prices haven't gone up too much! My total was just $11. I love that they have removed the artificial colors and ingredients--keep it up Panera!! read more

This is the second night in a row we have attempted to go to Panera, and both times we were two hours before the store hours said and they had the doors closed and wouldn't let anyone in. Literally just had the worst customer service experience I've ever had at a restaurant in my entire life. I ordered online to be picked up in the drive thru line, only to wait 40 minutes in line and not move a single time. I left the line and went inside, only to find that there were 4 people working. Other customers that were inside had been waiting over an hour as well. There was zero communication from the workers with the customers and no one seemed to have any idea what they were doing. I waited a total of an hour and 30 minutes for Mac n cheese and a salad, which I didn't even end up getting because after asking multiple times they eventually told me that they were out of Mac n cheese. They ended up giving me a refund, but only after I had to ask multiple times. Do not even attempt to go there unless you have hours of your life to waste away to not even end up getting any food. If you get your tax return, and don't know where to spend that extra wad of cash, then this might be an option. The food was good, bit it wasn't worth the price. Me and wife got 2 half sandwich/ salad combos with a tea and a water, and it was $30! It wasn't bad, but it was way over priced. I had some turkey apple sandwich that came in some wierd bread. Like banana nut bread minus the banana. On the side I had a Fuji apples salad. Nixed greens with slices of dried apple and some wierd dressing. It was different, but nothing to write home about. What has happened? I ordered a pick 2 with a cobb salad and Mediterranean vegetable salad. The tea was not fresh, the lettuce at the bottom of the salad was frozen, and the roasted red peppers placed on the sandwich were not drained leaving the bread soggy and inedible. I was also dining inside, but my order was prepared to go. There were no napkins in the bag and NO ONE around to ask for some. I'm just a little frustrated. First off, online and on the door, it says Panera closes at 9 PM. I worked an 11 hour shift nearby and placed my order around 8:20 PM. I arrived (on time by the online estimated time it claims to take) at 8:40 PM. They're like completely closed. I had to drive up to the window and when the employee opens the window he just thrusts the bag at me. It's literally the wrong order. FFS I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato soup how hard is that for a sandwich shop to get right? I went back around to wait but all the employees are just dipping and I even make eye contact with one and they ignore me. So I just leave. I'm just annoyed and trying to not be a rude person by posting here, because let's face it, I've worked in food before and at the end of the day you just wanna get home off your feet. But I worked all day too, and all I wanted was a bowl of tomato soup. Also, don't advertise for closing at at certain time and be locked up, cleaned out and turning away customers before you're closed. My husband wanted a loaf a bread, something other than what's in the store, and I was hungry for a breakfast sandwich so we ordered from Panera. The ONLY reason I gave three stars is because the loaf of bread, Country Rustic, was good but the sandwich was another story. I love coming to Panera, I wish it was closer to where I stay though. The service is always so friendly and they're happy to answer any questions about any of the food items! Everything is always made to perfection, i've never had a complaint about my order being wrong. I usually get the grilled cheese which is actually made of 4 different cheese, it comes with a side I like to get the chips, sadly the meals don't come with drinks so you have to purchase them separately. The grilled cheese sandwich (whole sandwich) meal plus a drink comes out to 10.80 after tax. (even though I only have one check in here, I do come here quite frequently) It is rather pricey but well worth it. It's clean for the most part unless you happen to get their after one of their lunch rushes. This area is part of many different places to eat, so there is loooooads of parking. read more

They claimed they called but they didn't call from the store number so that I would recognize it and they didn't bother to leave a message so that I could call them back to discuss options. This is the worst Panera Bread I have ever ordered from. The food and customer service are a joke. I ordered a large tortellini pasta and a small Mac n cheese, the pasta was the same potion size as the small Mac n cheese just in a large bowl. I even dumped out the Mac n cheese on a plate and put all the tortellini in the small bowl to confirm. There was also a large onion soup that was in our order and that normally comes with a cheese and crouton topping, but you guessed it! None. Just the soup. Most of the time when you think of onion soup, you think of the melted cheese covering the top. I tried to call but no one would answer the phone. This location has roughly a 50% chance of getting your order right based on historical averages and 1/11 chance of making you hoppin', stinkin' mad. Today, we had a new experience - courtesy of Daily Savings Time. My confirmation email had the wrong time (5:35 PM instead of 6:35 PM). When I called customer service, they claimed everything was fine and did not understand I did not want food that had been sitting - to pull around to the drive thru. Apparently, there is a sign that Mobile Orders should use the drive-thru - which I missed. Also, I did not make a Mobile order (web not exactly the same as mobile, but okay). The manager claimed that someone else picked up my order - which seems unlikely. However, they offered to remake my order - which I appreciated it - felt like good customer service. Unfortunately, the order they put together was wrong - half sandwich for me instead of full sandwich - and looked slopped in the container haphazardly. I had to go back into the store, flag the manager down with a problem. I had them refund my sandwich and then brought home cold food to my wife (soup/salad, easy to reheat). The second call to customer service went better. Offered to give me rewards - that does not undo the 25% tip (2 person order). Previously, I had been adding a tip because I thought it helped with the order quality. Not this time, apparently. I said no thank you to any extra Panera rewards - why should I spent more time and money patronizing a business that does not serve its customers well? It's sad, I love Panera but this location needs a lot of work to get to the standards that other locations are at. The employees don't seem to be very bright. I called ahead and placed an order, when I arrived I let them know at the drive thru I had called ahead and they asked what I had. I pulled up to the window and after waiting a woman finally came to the window and mentioned something completely wrong and then tried again with another fail. I said I had a call in order for Lee and she said oh, you had a call in order, what's the name. They failed to provide chips for one of the sandwiches, they gave us spoons for a salad and for two sandwiches. The salad wasn't the full size, or if it was they need to change things, I'm pretty sure it's the half order. I don't plan on going back to the Lubbock location. The lady who took my order never told me they were out of baguettes or the confit tomatoes for my sandwich. I was given gross green tomatoes that should have been put In the trash and a bag of chips. How does Panera run out of baguettes at 7:46pm ??? It took forever to get my money back but wow what a horrible experience. I will not be back to this location again. Train your people! You'd probably get your food faster too if you made it yourself. And make sure you don't ask for no peppers on your sandwich, because they'll put EXTRA on there. And don't pay for anything with avocados, you'll get a sliver of a piece. I was really and truly excited about this new location here in Lubbock. I am so excited that Panera opened in Lubbock! Although it is a chain place (I usually prefer a locally owned place), their food is pretty good. It's not a fancy place but they have some 'real' salads. Unlike some sad salads just with a couple of leaves and wrinkly tomatoes, their salads are seasonal and they have so many variations. After Gatsby had closed, I was unable to find a coffee shop where I can both eat (something other than baked items) and study. It looks like Panera is a to-go place for now, probably after the opening madness will be over. Because the line was super long this weekend, I ordered my meal online and drove up there only to pick up. It was literally zero wait time and the food was packaged nicely! I had ancient grain salad and fall squash soup. Both of them were delicious! Fall squash soup was hearty and had some ginger even. It was a perfect pair for this chilly weather. Their regular bakery items are pretty good, too. I really like their chewy and crunchy baguette. It goes really well with soup, so I highly recommend getting it as a side! read more

While traveling to NM from Lubbock, Panera just sounded good. Cool day looking for some thing warm and inviting. Ordered a chicken panini like sandwich and a bowl of vegetable soup. The chicken was cold, the soup was cold, and the staff was like "it was normal". The kids had no clue, the place had many table with breadcrumbs, not sure why anyone even eats there honestly. Every time we use the online ordering app, our order is messed up. They have forgotten to add chicken to our chicken salad, forgotten the salad dressing itself, and left out the bread as our side. Me and my bf came here to have a light lunch one time and again to do the same with some studying done afterwards. Both times we used the electronic device that took orders to order our lunch and we had no trouble nor any difficulties with getting our food. The food came in a promptly time after paying for our order. The servers were nice and sweet and always greeted us with our foods in hand with a smile. On another note for those who have never been at Panera Bread before: Since this is a chain fast-food service kinda place, they can't do anything about the prices nor the portions. I don't know why so many of you are griping about the little things. Just deal with it.
