May 26, 2025 review: I got the toasted garden caprese sandwich and Fromage croissants toast sandwich. I've had the toasted garden caprese before and this one is pretty good, crispy. They cut it in half and it comes with chips as side. The croissant toast was new add so I thought of trying it but it was very soggy. Caramelized onions made it very sweet and it was pretty much like a sweet cheese sandwich. Bread they use is flaky like croissant. Portion is also half compared to caprese sandwich. My order took 15 mins of prep time. The folks making were looking at the the recipe pages frequently so I take that not many people order this particular items at this location or maybe they were new. Not much crowded in morning time. This just might be the best service I've ever had in any type of restaurant. I've traveled to over 80 countries eating in 5 Star 4 Diamond, even Michelin Restaurants, including a $7000 meal in Los Angeles, California where I have multiple servants waiting on me hand and foot. The staff at this Panera Bread all deserve raises and serious recognition. They treated me like a family member and showed the most sincere service maybe ever. Generally, I like most of the food I've tried at this Panera, but I'm definitely not a fan of their Caesar Salad.  To begin with, it's bland and uninspiring.  To be more specific, there are small hard bits in the salad; I'm not exactly sure what they are, but they're quite unappetizing.  Adding olives to the salad would be in improvement. While I usually enjoy most chicken preparations, they served in here after it's been thawed and pre-cooked.  Going forward I'll pass on the chicken. The staffers here are very helpful, professional and friendly.   Tip: I've found that the fastest way to get in and out of here is to order your food online, then go and pick it up. read more

Fast service which is good. I got the Asian sesame salad---I think the lettuce is iceberg and overall mediocre taste. My family member got the cranberry chicken salad--no cranberries, way too much Mayo..not good. Overall, Panera food quality has gone downhill severely. We won't be back. Checked in yesterday. Everytime we are in Lubbock TX, we come here for a nice light dinner. I ordered the Asian sesame chicken salad with brocolli cheddar soup and was delicious. I also like their refreshing green tea. The bathroom was untidy and I understand if they may be short staffed, but it just needs more work. We had soup delivered. The soup comes in flimsy containers with loose lids. The soups spilled in the PAPER bag. When I picked up the bag the soups fell out all over my porch, ruined. I notified the manager and he said it's the delivery person's fault and offered NO replacement. NO, it's Panera Bread's fault and their inability to supply tighter lids and plastic bags for soup or drinks. read more

I walked in and saw some staff sitting down in the dining area talking very loudly and opted to order at the kiosk instead of waiting for them to help me. They saw me walk in but didn't acknowledge me. I ordered and the kiosk instructed me to take a seat and that they would call my name when my food was ready. 12 minutes later the employees talking hadn't moved and were being very loud and obnoxious. I wasn't sure if maybe they were on break & there were more in the kitchen preparing my order... I awkwardly approached the pickup area and one of the employees turned and asked what I needed. I asked if there was anyone preparing my order - I didn't see anyone in the back so I just wanted to check. He said nothing and just went to the kitchen and started preparing my order. The other employees kept talking for a few minutes then joined him in the kitchen. I got my food almost 20 minutes after ordering and the place was empty (myself & two other tables who already had their orders). read more

They don't pay there employees, and when confronted about it they fire you and ban you from the store. Unprofessional and definitely have something sketchy going on. The lemonades taste fermented as well. read more

You can count on at least one door locked and/or dining area closed. One or more drink selections not working. Very slow, disinterested staff. I used to always like the green tea, but it's often missing from the selections. But, such bad service from Panera has encouraged me to try the other GREAT tea and drink places in town! I ordered their new chicken sandwich. Surely no one has tasted it. The seasoning was strange, round strange discs like cereal tasted weird, sauce was nasty and chicken was dry, burned, and disgusting. I was so happy to see a Panera Bread so close by to where I live! Unfortunately I was let down. I had a birthday reward for a free pastry that I wanted to use but I was told NO because I was already getting 20% off of my meal... um ok? Also they did not ask for my reward card or phone number. Lastly the food: my sandwich was thrown together and the avocados they used were black,so I scraped them out of my sandwich. It was a sad sandwich. I come here hoping it gets better but, never does. Actually gets worse. The tables weren't even cleaned off, no one busing tables, trash all over the floor. The staff was sitting talking very loudly in the back. I ordered a chicken soba noodle bowl and didn't get chicken. I take it back up and they said "you didn't order it." I show the receipt, "oh. Bad service and rude assistant manager, but good food. Twice I have seen an assistant manager that cares for her own needs and not those of employees or customers. I suspect that leads to a bunch of employees who don't like the work atmosphere. This location needs better management. They also, like most Panera locations, have a hard time getting orders right. I love Panera. I eat there multiple times a week. It's semi-healthy comfort food and it's hard to mess up. But this location needs new management and serious staff training. The one in West End isn't too bad. It's busy as heck and sometimes messes up food somewhat (temperature, how it's put together, etc.) but it's pretty consistent and at least mostly enjoyable. This location, not so much. Negatives: 1) Disgustingly dirty. Food all over the seats and floor. Should have left once I noticed how dirty it was since its indicative of the whole experience you'll have 2) Ordering kiosks weren't turned on 3) Ordering from table doesn't mean they'll bring it to you. After 25 minutes I went to ask about food to find out food had been sitting on kitchen counter for who knows how long. Soup was lukewarm and congealed on top. At every other Panera they deliver to your table - that's why the app has you enter your table number. Most guests, like myself, have no line of sight so it only makes sense. Had to ask about drink I purchased too. Other Paneras have cups next to ordering kiosks or they bring it to you with food. Not this one. Girl staffing register and kitchen staff then laughed about it. Really? Staff needs some serious training and actual oversight. Weirdest thing was the place was practically empty. There was a family of 4, a couple, and myself. It was dead. Yet horrible service and the place was a pigsty. Shame to have to say avoid this place since I really wanted a Panera in this part of town. Order through the app and even that I put specific instructions the food went to the wrong house, I called the third party people they use the useless girl said to contact Panera, I contacted Panera and the rude manager said she can't do anything because is not through Panera even though I order through the app, Panera app, I had a back surgery and a kid with autism crying and either of them did nothing for help me, 40 dollars waste, why u use a delivery company that you can't contact them ? I can't send a message or nothing and what it got me more depress is the way the manager told me she can't do anything there no empathy. I went to this location (Lubbock TX 98th and Quaker) When I got there a long line was formed. When it got to me there was only one person on the register. It was the Sunday lunch rush and it was so slow. As I got to the front the people ahead of me were having trouble so the manager came over to help and told the employee to get on another register and to help me. I ordered paid with a $100 bill and was paid back in all fives. I left and when I looked to count my cash I had been shorted $20. Went straight back and they turned me away and pretty much made me feel like I was in the wrong and it was my fault. She was rude and no help at all. She definitely needs to learn respect. She then told me Jason would call me the next day and never got a call. On we Wednesday I called back up to the restaurant and Jason answered I told him what happened and he also made me feel like I was in the wrong. He said they had counted the money and it was all there and they didn't have my $20. He was rude and he obviously didn't believe in the golden rule "The costumer is always right!" I said that and he said I had my own opinion. I will never go back to that location. So rude and not helpful. The managers have no respect. If I could give zero stars I'd be much happier. I'm a big Panera fan but the one on Milwaukee and this one on 98th are terrible. They both need new management, they are constantly out of food, get orders wrong, and lazy. I walk in and place an order in the app or even in store you have to ask where the food is to get them to even begin preparing it. I was so happy when both locations opened but now I am so disappointed. They need to make a change quick or they will both be out of business quick! read more

Ordered rapid pick up. Get there and front door is locked. Employee inside just looked at me and walked away. Thought I could go around back to the curbside pickup but no lights, no signs to see where to pick up. Called but they won't answer the phone. Went to drive thru window and got stuck behind 3 cars. Told person in drive thru window that I ordered rapid pick up but the front door is locked. She responded "It's locked?" As if she was surprised by that. Told me to come in they will open front door. I couldn't get out of drive thru because I was stuck in the middle of cars with no way out. Employee brought my bag of food out and was giving it to the car behind me. She figured out it wasn't theirs, so came to my car and just handed it to me. I told her now I am stuck in the drive thru and my food is getting cold and I can't get out. She just said "sorry" as she was quickly walking away. I had to wait a total of 30 minutes to get out of the drive thru to bring my food home disgusting and cold. Awful service and rude employees.
