Before my flight, I asked Siri for the best restaurant in Terminal C, and the two recommendations were Ole Red and Three Casks. Since I was looking for a quieter meal instead of live music, Three Casks won. I'm glad it did. It's a bit of a walk toward the C20 gates, but if you have the time, it's worth it. I grabbed a seat overlooking the terminal, ordered a cold local beer, and settled in for some excellent people-watching before boarding. The Patty Melt was the star of the meal. Served on grilled rye with beautifully caramelized onions, pickled Peppadew peppers, and perfectly melted cheese, it hit every note. Comfort food done right. The server also brought over a caddy of house sauces, and the Apple Pie BBQ sauce completely surprised me. Sweet, smoky, and unlike anything I've had before. I found myself dipping every bite into it. My Caesar salad was the only miss. The homemade croutons were excellent, but the dressing was so heavy that it overwhelmed the lettuce and delicate Parmesan flavors. Next time, I'll simply ask for the dressing on the side. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient, which isn't always easy in an airport setting. I only wish they offered a dessert menu because I absolutely would have stayed for one more course. If you're tired of the usual fast-food options and want a real meal before your flight, Three Casks is a solid choice. Sometimes the best travel memories aren't the destination--they're the unexpected meal you find along the way. Life is too short to eat poorly or travel without exploring what's around you. The next time you're passing through Nashville, skip the food court, take the short walk down Terminal C, and treat yourself.

On a recent visit for a quick dinner, I wanted something a bit lighter because I had to go play bowling after and tried a menu item that's always intrigued me: the blueberry chicken sandwich on their house made panuozzo bread. I expected this would be like a chicken salad but the waitress said it came hot and melty, and I was in the mood for a risk. And man did the risk pay off, this sandwich was one of my favorite things I've eaten all month! It comes hot and melty with a house made pesto, blueberry compote, fontina, and thin pieces of chicken, perfectly cooked. The panuozzo bread is almost as if you made naan out of pizza dough, and it keeps everything nicely contained without making the sandwich too bready. The flavors are unexpected but work so, SO well together - truly a work of genius. I paired it with their shake shake fries, which have an awesome seasoning (not spicy, just adds flavor) and a Diet Coke. Service was so kind and helpful, even on a busy Wednesday night. I was able to get in and out within 40 minutes, which was a win for the time crunch I was in but I still felt relaxed to eat my sandwich at my leisure. I'm always looking for a place to eat in Donelson before my Wednesday bowling league, and this fit exactly what I was craving. Local, Mexican-inspired food, dedicated parking lot, easy to get in & out quickly. The parking lot was quite popping tonight, and I did have to loop through it a couple of times to find a spot even though it is pretty spacious. A place that's been open since 2017 and is still this busy on a Wednesday is a good sign. This is part coffee shop, part restaurant, so there are two different doors. I inadvertently went through the coffee shop one and they redirected me to the restaurant side, no problem at all. I was able to be seated at a table with no wait. My waitress came right over with water and a menu, and I was clear with her that I had about a half hour before I needed to leave. She quickly took my order, giving me recommendations when I asked for advice and was torn between a couple of different things. The menu is large and reasonably priced with a very wide selection of drinks. This isn't the most authentic Mexican food, but man is it tasty. Lots of fresh ingredients and so much flavor, a real crowd pleaser for dietary restrictions and picky eaters! I was torn between chips and queso and a burrito, so it was to my benefit that the chicken burrito comes with a side of chips and salsa, and paying a small upcharge to swap in queso meant I got all of the things I was craving in one order. Pinto beans, guacamole, chipotle aioli, and rice all packed in and put on the griddle so you get that nice sear. There's an option to add a cheese skirt to the burrito that I skipped this time but would absolutely come back for. The chips were thin and crispy, the queso hot and delicious, and I couldn't have asked for more at the price. The burrito is $11 on its own and with the chicken and my upcharge I came to about $19 with tax, plus tip. When the waitress brought my food she also brought my check and a box so I could take the other half to go and get everything out of the way. In and out in thirty minutes with food that was hot, fresh, and super delicious. The service here really goes the extra mile. Easy for a solo diner, easy for a group, and easy to just walk in for a quick meal. My only small gripe is that they may still be too popular for their parking lot, which should be slightly bigger. They've also got an interesting set of coffee and matcha drinks and a brunch menu I'd love to come back for. This is a hidden gem, and I hope locals keep showing up for the great places we already have instead of only chasing whatever just opened!

I love meeting people but this isn't Monell's y'all. Get different kind of seating if you are not going to be open seating in that area. It makes it less awkward to our wallets when we are all chilling and ask, "can we seat here" knowing that you have to say "yes, sure" unless you have your people coming to save you. I also love their new wraps - especially the BBQ Chicken and the Chicken Caesar. Finally, this location has a FroYo machine! It's just under $5 for a generous cup of frozen yogurt, and then you can add on toppings for a small charge as well. My husband I dined in last night and decided to share some, and it was a hit!
