I don't normally leave reviews on chains, but this experience was particularly bad, I felt I should say something. I ordered 2 half salads and a half sandwich. The chicken in the two half salads was barely edible. I am not sure what was wrong with it, but it disintegrated immediately at a touch. There was so much liquid at the bottom of the salad bowls too. I am not sure if this was water from the veggies being washed or what, but it caused the lettuce and everything else to be soggy and wilted without even adding dressing. The grilled chicken and avocado BLT I ordered came without the bacon. Major disappointment. read more

Waited in line my whole lunch break (30mins) even though I ordered from the app before taking my lunch break. The food wasn't good. The lettuce was wilted and very little smear of avocado. After being sip member for couple months, I'm don't want to go back now as this isn't the first time it's happened. I've been trying to eat healthy but Panera is no longer worth it. read more

I am not a huge fan of chocolate. Yeah I know I'm weird that way... So anyway when I started craving a chocolate croissant a couple weeks ago I thought I could just wait it out and it would be over but it persisted, so this morning I decided to drive through Panera, and order a chocolate croissant and an iced coffee. It was just after 9 AM when I pulled into the drive-through. When I arrived, there were were four cars ahead of me. It took nearly 9 minutes to get to the pick up window and I do know that waiting is pretty typical for Panera during breakfast and lunch times. The drive-through is always clean and planted nicely so at least it looks nice while you're waiting. I ordered iced coffee with non-fat milk and a chocolate croissant and when I got to the window they let me know they did not have any non-fat milk. It seemed a little surprising that early in the morning to not have it but anyway got my coffee and my croissant and went home. The menu stated the croissant was a new recipe. I have not had a chocolate croissant before from Panera, so I can't compare. All in all it was... OK. It had a sugary topping and additional chocolate along the top, and the pastry itself was pretty dense not a typical airy, fluffy croissant. Personally, I would prefer to have one without the sugary topping and the additional chocolate but again, as I stated earlier chocolate is not my absolute favorite, so I would have preferred more of a regular croissant with a little chocolate inside versus this, which seemed more like a pastry/donut. That being said, I am not totally writing this off for future cravings. I did enjoy it especially with the coffee. read more

Since I saw their adds on their new toasted sandwiches. I had to sample some. I ordered the caprice sandwich with a bowl of their broccoli cheese soup. The sandwich was great but I did complain about the bowl of soup was meager for the price. Service was good. I hate those buzzer things the give to pick up your order. Of course the inside was typical. The drinks are great. Always something different on the teas. I'm sure I'll go back but a $20+ for lunch I'd not what I want to pay all the time. read more

Ordered for delivery. The delivery instructions area online has 500 spaces, except their receipt only can print part of it, so my instructions to the driver were cut off. Part of the order was a vanilla cinnamon roll. The frosting was sugar sugar sugar. Gross. It had no vanilla flavor that we could tell. Then the steak sandwich...had horseradish on it, which we like, but they really shouldn't use half a jar on 1 sandwich! read more

In drive through, ordered a bagel with cream cheese. Long story short, my order couldn't be completed, but the guys working on 11/26 at 11:15am (didn't catch your names) made it right. Refreshing to see good customer service still exists, with friendly faces, and a positive attitude. This place deserves a 0 rating. Almost every single time I have come to Panera, they are slow and get my order wrong. Last night I ordered the strawberry poppyseed salad and they split it into two containers without any dressing. I will not eat a salad without dressing especially when I paid $15 for a salad. They also barely ever put the pecans on it. If I paid for it, it should be on it. If they are out, then they should be required to let customers know. I called and the manager told me to come back for a refund and that they would give a pastry for the inconvenience. My husband went after work and they didn't give him the pastry item. Am I shocked? NO. This place will go out of business soon because no one is willing to pay ridiculously high prices while being ripped off. read more

Went in on 6/1 at the beginning of dinner time. They had no drinks except lemonade and tea. The soda machine was out of most everything. The baked goods were barely there and were not inviting at all. When we got our order, they gave us a cup of soup instead of the bowl. The salad was to have dressing on the side, but it was smothered in it. The pizza sandwich looked nothing like the picture. It was basically a loaf of bread with a smear of tomato sauce and barely pepperoni and cheese. When we left, there were too many dishes on the trash bin because they left the soda fountain parts all over. This used to be a nice place to go to. So disappointing! read more

Dear Panera, after I ordered my dinner for the third time on their totally incomprehensible app I stood in the lobby for 15 minutes waiting for someone to help me. Three different employees ran by with orders for cars. They all said they would be right back but no one ever returned. After 15 minutes a nice young man finally came to help me but by then I was too frustrated to support this business any more. Just because Covid is going on doesn't mean you should mistreat and ignore in person customers. Bad customer service! read more

This low rating is because of the new look ambiance. We choose panera whenever we have family in town and don't want to cook. Normally I won't write a review but today I was bothered. We had a party of 6 this week and a couple of weeks ago we had a party of 8. As we sat in the back for some privacy because we had attended a funeral and two young men decided to also sit in the back. They were eating food from a subway and filling their subway drinks cups with panera beverages. They also came in with mountain bikes. The last visit we had we could sit in the back because some young adults were laying on the chairs and using unfriendly language. We were approached by the manager if all was well after we had eaten as though we over spent our welcome. My brother inlaw brought up the free drinks these kids were getting and the outside food be consumed. The manager seemed to justify their visits. I won't recommend this place and I won't give it a 5 star rating. The ambiance is teen friendly and loitering friendly. read more

Walk in here and you forget that you are in the small community of Porterville. The decor is very modern comfortable and inviting. As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted with a smile and a "hello welcome to Panera." So walk up to the counter, and scan the menu for something delicious to fill your tummy. Once you decide, pay for your grub and you will be handed a "buzzer." There is a little area to sit while you wait for your food to be prepared. When your buzzer starts going crazy with lights flashing everywhere like a UFO - you know your food is ready. If you ordered to go it will be in a paper sack- with napkins spoons, forks, etc., right underneath the counter. However if you ordered to dine-in your food comes on an actual plate or in a bowl- with real real silverware! There are many different and delicious sandwiches soups salads and pastas to choose from. They also have a good selection of pastries. And if you are a tea drinker there are lots of tea choices available, including iced green tea... Which I like to mix with the fresh lemonade. For you coffee drinkers there is coffee available as well. And the standard sodas. Average cost for a meal is around $10. I appreciate the freshness in the food it tastes so yummy! read more

I got the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich and it was great! The tomato basil bread was delicious and everything was very fresh tasting. They have lots of breads and pastries that all look very good. With your soup, salad, or sandwhich you get a choice of french bread, chips or apple. I got the french bread and it was great! They have lots of choices, you can change things like the type of bread or cheese for another choice of bread or cheese. It's good to look ahead online to see what they have. It's a little bit pricey but your paying for quality not quantity. They have a lot of ice tea choices that are very good including unsweet hibisus and acai berry and normal black tea both sweet and unsweet and then a sweet green tea. Panera is great, a nice addition to Porterville. read more

Let me start off by saying Panera is delicious. However, they do not have an ingredients list available for any of their menu items. This may not seem like a big deal, but for those with food allergies, it is. After asking an employee, a manager, and then scouring their website, a list was no where to be found. This is a major frustration. There are a few things on the menu that I know are safe to eat and those are incredibly delicious. I wish they'd add an easily accessible list, so I (and probably others) could expand my options. That's my only issue with Panera. Otherwise, service, quality, flavor and everything else is great. read more

I've been Panera member since 2013 and ordered from Panera Bread at least about $1500 a month in catering this year. Last month, due to last minute customer cancellation, I called an hour and a half before delivery time to cancel one of the catering order from this Porterville, CA location. I spoke with the catering manager and apparently the store policy is they do not give refunds if it's less than two hours cancellation notice for catering. I pointed out that the food hasn't even prepared for the order or being delivered. So she gave me Regional Catering Manager (Stephanie Kentron) so I called her every other day. She did not pick up her cell or reply my calls for a refund. I also called Panera corporate customer service 3 times, spoke with 3 different representatives and they all said Andrew is the one taking care of refunds and will be notified via email. I finally spoke with the Manger of Operations (Juan Rodrigues) from the store today and not only he argued with me for 15 minutes, He doesn't even seems to care if I go to their competition for measly $178. He has been a manger of operations at Panera for over 3 years and District Manager at Jack In The Box before for 4.5 years and he was basically saying "do what you gotta do" to complain if I choose to. He was very ignorant and arrogant to the point where he rather loose a customer and will do anything to protect the company policy over customer satisfaction who has been paying his salary. When I asked for his supervisor who might be able to help, he basically wanted me to go ahead and Google it. Not only I'd never cater from this location, I will never spend another penny with Panera. They just lost a valuable corporate customer due to the arrogance and poor customer service especially middle management. What a mistake making a catering order here. Simple bagels, sandwiches and soufflés for a breakfast meeting this morning and the classic "system mistake" delayed me an hour. Panera in Porterville has some serious problems. In addition to the terribly small portions and messed up orders, customer service is pretty bad. When I called and and finally got someone to pick up, I asked to speak to the manager. The young employee on the phone was not very interested in helping, but said she was the manager. As I described the issue, she decided to say, "Ok, I'll go get the manager." Dinner ended up being skimpy, cold, with one person waiting an additional hour and a half for food we had to drive into town to pick up. Apparently you don't include cream cheese with the dozen bagels on Tuesdays anymore. Aaaand to top it off, no one offered to sell me any. And no one asked if I wanted them sliced. I'm just in town for work and I love Panera. First thing I noticed is that it wasn't super packed or busy. I'm from Fresno and the ones there are always busy! It was very clean and the girl at the front was super nice and friendly. She made small talk and seemed very genuine. My food came out really quick and the ciabatta was so fresh and soft. The drive thru line never seems to be very long, however they take so long with our food that sometimes we have to park and wait . In addition, they have removed many of their original menu items, some of which were my go to meals.
