I came here as a change from my typical Panera location (The Rim). & aside from them not having a drive thru' which sucks, I will probably be coming here more often!! Doolie was the cashier & was super friendly, but the guy (I believe the only guy there, he was African American I think... ) however, he made the BEST avocado, egg white, spinach sandwich (my norm) and I don't know what he did, bc it was all the same ingredients, but it was clean, not messy, didn't crumble and fall apart as I ate it.... Ordered a salad for me and a bowl for my wife. Daughter picked it up for us and I must say when I opened the bag and saw the size of my salad I started to laugh. I typically travel the US for work and probably eat Panera 3 times a month not to mention the 5-6 times a year I cater Panera and spend over $200 each time I cater. This was the smallest salad I have ever seen. The 2 cups with dressing were not even half full. Granted I haven't traveled the last 3 months due to COVID-19 but if this is the new full salad well than Panera has lost a supportive customer. Ordered a corn chowder soup for rapid pickup. When I got to the restaurant my order was in the pickup area (really cool process btw) but when I got home found out they didn't have any corn chowder and decided to substitute Broccoli and Cheese soup without telling me. The Quarry location will occasionally run out of items as well but they at least leave a note to see someone at the counter and will explain what they're out of and offer a substitute versus just deciding for you, what your lunch for the day is going to be. God forbid I was allergic to something in the Broccoli and cheese soup - I may become part owner of Panera. For the price you pay this wasn't an acceptable experience. Only went there because I had a gift card. Never returning again. First of all they changed the menu and only serve ONE solitary pasta option. I was somewhat impressed with the speed of my order. No wonder. The salad is pre made and the pasta is microwaved with so little chicken that they have no business putting "chicken" as part of the name of the item (see photo). read more

It has been a while since I have stepped foot into a Panera and when I did today, it reminded me of just how wonderful it was years ago when I last had a quick bite for breakfast. I ordered the Eggwhite Spinach and Avocado breakfast sandwhich to go, and couldn't wait to eat it til I reached my next destination because the warmth of this single sandwich had turned my car into the smell of a French bakery--I just had to have it! I wish I had ordered two! The avocado was ripe and a perfect shade of green which is important to me because it either makes or brakes my sandwich. I also like that there is a To-Go screen that tells you how many people are ahead of your order. You can assume how much longer before your order is completed. I absolutely love Panera! I will always go to Panera for excellent food. However, the customer service here is ridiculous. They need to pay attention to the customer they're dealing with instead of wandering elsewhere during the conversation. I've had to repeat myself multiple times because the cashier was paying attention to everything else but me. This location is humongous. The staff were nice and brought the food to our table. As big as its name is and for all the rave about it, however the food here is purely middle of the road for an upscale sammy shop. I could close my eyes and be in just about any upscale sammy chain. Sometimes not having too many choices is a good thing - then again sometime it's not. The food quality at Panera's is unquestionable, but I can never find the right sandwich so satisfy my needs. They have less than 10 lunch items to select from and you better want what they've got. But if you have a sweet tooth to satisfy, then you've found the right spot. Better hurry though, once they're out, they're out. I only come to panera when it is suggested by a friend or if it just convenient. Some things here are quite delicious like the breakfast suffles and deserts. I really like the frontega chicken as well. But I have to say that every time I come here I feel like I got really ripped off for spending 10 bucks on a half sandwhich that has only 3 ingredients and soup that is bland....tastes like salt and flour and some canned broth. I was a fan of this place one point in time a while ago but it has been lack luster lately. And the lemonade is awful. read more

3 star rating is due to the fact that when ordering online, some items that are not available at the moment are still showing up as available. When I order online, it does not notify me until after I get to the restaurant and wait about 10 minutes before someone tells me that they are either out of the item, or it is too early in the day for them to serve it. Panera is my go to staple for lunch. With fresh bread and a cozy atmosphere it's a great place to grab a bite to eat. This Panera has a cute ourdoor seating area which has some shaded areas to enjoy the outdoors as you dine. The food is very good at this location. However, it could use a good cleaning. It's in a high traffic location and things could be looked after better. I ordered a Napa Chicken Salad Sandwich. It's my regular go to on the menu for something satifying and yummy. This was a good sandwich not the best I have had but very good. I would visit this location again but, hope they tidy it up a bit! read more

Panera makes quality sandwiches! This place is a bit bland, but good. The breads they make are awesome, and I love all the free samples they give out as you enter. The service is usually lacking- they are a bit rude or ignore you, and always seem to have their own thing going on behind the counter instead of being ready to help or answer any questions, but they usually get the order right. The place is clean, well lit, and offers free wi-fi. They offer free drink refills too, which is a plus. It's nice that they do offer a wide selection of healthy options for your sandwich. Instead of being forced to choose between potato chips or cheetos, they offer apple slices, fruit salads, and other yummy side options. Their corporate mission is really cool. I've heard that they opened a restaurant in Cleveland where you pay only what you think the meal is worth. Apparently, they're doing well. I'd like to see that here, since this place is a bit on the pricey side. read more

As much as I try to avoid national chains in favor of local places, I can't help but give this Panera four stars. It's just good, and I really can't complain. The menu is standard Panera, as would be expected, but the service is really good. My mom comes here in the afternoons for coffee and about half the time they give it to her for free. They love to comp drinks and pastries if you're friendly, which is always a great time. I think this place must be really well managed. Clean, great service, and attention to every plate they serve. No room for error here, they are on top of their game and will make sure your order is corrected even for the slightest err. Huge fan of the passion tea and the toffee cookies. Scones are pretty good, and I love me a cinnamon crunch bagel. The pumpkin bagel (around during the holidays) is just like the cinnamon crunch except it has additional pumpkin flavors! I come here often. I love the rapid pick up. Since this location is always busy this feature is convenient. The food is always delicious. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is always clean. If you use your Panera card for points the employees will remind you of free snack and deals which is nice. The reason for 4 stars and not 5? I use rapid pick up a lot because I have to rush back to the office. When ordering a drink on rapid pick up the cup is either not the right size (usually smaller) or the cup for your drink is not there so you have to ask for one. It has happened numerous times which is why I am compelled to share. If they fix that one thing I will happily give them 5 out of 5 stars. read more

This is pretty much what I could ask for in a breakfasty sandwich shop. (Yes I know it's not just breakfast but that's how i treat it.) The staff always greets me with a smile (morning or night) and the food is delicious. I initially didn't think much of this place but I was notified that I ordered wrong. I typically enjoy hot sandwhiches, so of course the first thing I ordered WASN'T a hot sandwhich. On my second visit I ordered a Panini (the name escapes me) and it was GLORIOUS. The athmosphere is is really mellow and not noisy or obtrusive at all. Free wifi is just the topping on the cake. I suppose the only reason for not giving 4 stars would be the fact that they on occasion will run out of the Cinnamon Crunch bagel, which is my absolute FAVORITE bagel there. One of the updated Paneras. The food was pretty good. I'm a fan of the updated salads! If you're one that likes to customize your order you may want to order in person instead of on the kiosk. The .30 here, 1.50 there add ons that you pay for don't show up when you get the food. For example, I despise onions, love avocado, Gorgonzola and kale. I took away, added extra to my Fuji salad. Had to pay a little more for it, but I'm good w it Bc it's gonna be delicioussss! Came out, the standard Fuji salad. When asked to at least take off the onion and add the avocado the server huffed, rolled his eyes and took it back. They don't look at the orders, they're in a hurry and throw together really fast, what they see. Also, I was waiting for lemonade. The server said "lemonade is over there" and points to the drink stand. Which is fine, except I don't have a cup. Rolled his eyes again and handed me one. This Panera location was pretty good tonight. We each had a bowl of the creamy tomato soup and a full size sandwich: Big Kid Grilled Cheese and Mediterranean Veggie. We took almost half of it home. We could have easily gotten by with the combo that has half a sandwich and a "cup" of soup. Oh well, we have left overs for lunch tomorrow. The soup was quite good, but we could have done without the croutons as they were quite chewy in the soup. The sandwiches were good. The Mediterranean Veggie had a mild sweet flavor, which was unexpected and unnecessary in the sandwich. I think it was something in the bread. The baguette was good and crusty but really not needed since we had the sandwich. It will go in tomorrow's lunch as well. This is a nice Panera however I really miss being in MO where the Paneras usually have drive thrus. Yep, I am being lazy however it is convenient when you have a tired 5 year old in the car who is recently exhausted by Kindergarten. They had a wide range of teas like Plum Hibiscus and Acai something that both looked inviting. I'll definitely pop back in. So I am shocked to see so many good comments about this location! I am a HUGE Panera fan, but this particular location lets me down time & time again! The food its self is great, BUT this location needs lots of adjustments! Let downs range from the CONSTANT coffee grounds in the morning & afternoon coffee (hazlenut), to the 6 visits in a row & no choc Chip cookies in stock, to the missing bacon & unwanted cheese on my breakfast sandwich that I called in to go, all the way to the Dark haired girl with glasses that rolls her eys at everyone that "puts" her out! Heaven forbid she be on the register that cant pull your Panera card acct by ph#! UNACCEPTABLE "you are bothering me" behavior. Don't get me wrong...it is not ALL bad... but enough to warrant me not going to that location anymore. Not like I am paying low prices for the service & issues I get there! Worst customer service! Been here twice and there was only ONE cashier. I had a question, so that's why I didn't use the kiosk to order. First time I stood there with no cashier in sight. I flagged down an employee and he was only a food deliver guy, so I guess he didn't know how to ring up an order. They need to train all employees to ring up orders when it gets busy. A manager had to take my order and I heard him yelling where the cashiers were. That was unprofessional. Next visit was on a Saturday afternoon and still only one cashier. I waited forever for a to go order of nothing that had to be prepared or cooked, just put in a bag. I understand filling orders as they are received, but some people have small, quick orders that could be finished in seconds. The food is way overpriced and the customer service is horrendous at this location. I will never return to Pandera, even if my food was free. read more

I used to frequent the Panera Bread in the Forum when I was working, but since I retired, my wife and I went to this Panera Bread on 1604/Blanco Rd this morning. Could not have been more disappointed based on my previous visits to the Forum location. Since Panera Bread installed kiosks to have customers self order and pay, they have obviously cut staff, it seems like, 50%. If you want to speak to a human, be prepared to wait. While we were in line to order, I could see that all of the kiosks were not being used. Poor implantation on part of Panera management if they really want customers to use them. I wanted a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and was told "we are out of sausage" (it was 10AM!), so sub'ed bacon. Wife ordered a cinnamon crunch bagel and we said we were eating there and took a table. About 10 minutes later, a server came to the table with my sandwich and said "Bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich", which the server sat down in front of me and started to walk away. My wife said " I was supposed to have a Cinnamon Bagel", the server seemed visibly annoyed and walked away saying nothing. Moments later, the server returned with the bagel in a to go bag - this although it was plan to see we were eating in. My wife opened he bag and told the server, 'this was supposed to be toasted and with cream cheese". Again, the server took the bagel to be heated and returned it STILL in the TO GO bag. However, she did deliver the cream cheese, although without a knife. My wife said I guess I'm to spread the cream cheese with my finger. Luckily, my sandwich came with a knife. My wife suggested we order two bagels to go for tomorrow morning's breakfast. I used the iPhone app to order these. After waiting for a time, I got up and waited in line until I got to the counter and asked if they received my order - he said they were getting it now. Our server put the bagels in to go bags and handed them to me. I said "Thank You" and she said you are welcome. It seems Panera Bread wants to use technology to minimize human interface with their customers. I plan going forward to help Panera Bread in this effort by having no interface with them at all. There are too many good restaurants in San Antonio to put up with poor service. read more

I love Panera. After moving from Europe, it is very hard to find bakeries that live up to expectations... but Panera is consistently great. This location is clean, friendly, and a good place for me to sit and work. They have plenty of plugs and good wifi. (Although, I would recommend a good set of headphones if you want to concentrate, as it is usually filled with people having business meetings and discussing loudly.) read more
