I am a fan of panera. I can always count on their soup to be hot and warm and their cookies and pastries to be delish!

Service here has been great and quick. Which is surprising for the holiday season. It's always full but service times don't reflect that. The last 3 times here (during holiday season) I ordered then sat down and had my food within 3 minutes. Now that's what I like. Plus their food is reasonably priced and super good. I have been loving their You Pick 2 deal where you can get a half sandwich and salad. So good. Love the BBQ salad. read more

I'm a Panera lover. I used to buy my weekly bread at this location but gave it up when they never seemed to have the large loaves I wanted. I recently tried them again. The first week, all was good. One large white one large wheat. This week I arrived at my usual 630 am and sure enough they only had one of the loaves I wanted. The manager was unwilling to re designate one large loaf from because it was supposed to go the cafe. The result...I walked out without what I really wanted. I'm really not sure why a bread store cannot bake the bread it needs for later in the day at lunch time. It turned into such a hassle and the manager was so miffed that the counter girl would even ask if she could sell me the loaf I wanted it was embarrassing. Ordered 40 box lunches to be delivered to our hotel for our ice hockey team lunch. The catering manager Lanee was great. She was helpful with making selection suggestions as we had kids and parents. I went the day before to confirm the order and pick up a little breakfast. I had choose the 11:45-12:00 delivery window. By 12:10 and no food I called the restaurant said the delivery person was on the way. 12:15 I could have picked it up myself I was so upset families were waiting to eat. I called a total of 3 times the last time I spoke with the manager . I wanted to make sure they weren't lost . Manager told me she had another delivery before mine and she would be there any minute. By far the worst Panera I have come across when it comes to food ordering line. Employees are busy chit chatting, or busy texting while customers wait in line. The service after the order is quick and courteous. The restaurant is reasonable clean. The Panera needs the tablet based ordering systems fast. read more

Worst experience ever! My daughter had gone to the one in Fairfield and had the Autumn Squash soup. She knows that is one of my favorites so she wanted to take me there to try it. We went to the Vacaville one and right after we came in they changed the board to lunch....awesome! So we ordered 1/2 sandwiches, the Roasted Turkey BLT and bowls of soup. A few minutes later our pager goes off and my daughter goes to get our order...or so we thought. They "hadn't pulled the Autumn Squash soup yet..." so I asked for the Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice soup....they don't have any, it's only on a certain day! Doesn't say that on the menu! My daughter was upset and said let's just get our money back and go. They refunded our money even tho we had already started on our drinks which was...nice. Then a girl comes to the counter and gives us a bag with our sandwiches in it and says since they had already made them they were giving them to us. OK...very nice BUT we get home and open the sandwiches and guess what!? Wrong sandwiches. Not even sure what they are since I don't see anything like it pictured....big chunks of chicken or turkey, very green lettuce and a slice of cheese...? Never again! read more

We have been eating/buying bread here since it opened. Love the Fugi Salad and Napa Chicken salad sandwich. We started buying sourdough bread once per week because it's delicious. BUT lately--I would say the last 3-4 months there is never any available. No matter what time of day--no bread. The staff just looks at me like I am supposed to know that and shrug like "Oh well!" I end up going across the street to Boudin to get sourdough bread--they always have it it stock and don't act like I am weird because I want to buy bread. Sorry Panera but you are a bakery--so kinda expect bread availability. Is it new management? Untrained staff? Too bad. I am giving 2 stars just because of past dining pleasure--but something is going on and it's not good for business. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Vacaville, the employee who works here named Donald is super nice and made going out to lunch with my husband an extra pleasant experience. My husband and I normally LOVE Panera. But this last trip we made there, 1/18/15, was horrible! It wasn't too busy so theres no reason for our horrible service. We waited over 20 mins for our food, which was a single bowl of mac n cheese we were sharing. Everyone who had ordered WAY AFTER us were getting all their food before us. And a couple of them had a bunch more then we did! It took us going to talk to them TWICE before we got our food. The second time was even responded to by some girl with a serious attitude saying "Its sitting right here. It'll be there in a second." My husband and I have both worked in the food industry and we were greatly disappointed. Work on your customer service girl. read more

Having only been to Panera one time in another location, I decided to give this location a try. Just as disgusting as the other location. I don't know how this chain stays open serving food that is worse than any kid can put together at home. Stale bread and poorest quality meats, save yourself the money and buy some wonder bread and Oscar Mayer cold cuts, it might just be better than paying for their sandwiches. read more

So normally I love Panera and I go there quite often and tonight was no exception I went to get an iced chai and decided that I might get some pastries to take home as I'm standing in line looking into the pastry case I notice there is 10 flies hovering over all the pastries and landing on the cookies and pastries I then proceeded to tell the cashier when I get up there to order my iced chai that I was going to also order some pastries but since there is like 10 flies on the pastries I had decided not to his name was Josh and he didn't really seem to care whether I order the pastries or not he also seemed kind of put off when I told him how many flies were in the case and I was like yeah that's pretty bad and he was like oh so sorry not my idea of good customer service or good food. read more

I've been going to Panera for 11 years, and I've never experienced such poor customer service as today. My husband and I always stop by this Panera on our way to the Bay Area. We ordered two bagels, one with butter and one with cream cheese which we paid for with Lily as our cashier (provided wonderful service). When my husband received our order, both bagels were charred and burnt to a crisp and no cream cheese in the bag. My husband went back to ask for the cream cheese he ordered and paid for, and was harassed by Chloe, the manager, who proceeded to say, "We usually don't give those out unless you paid for them." He showed her the receipt, and she proceeded to apologize. Then, after seeing the bagels, I went back into the store, and asked them if they'd ever eat a bagel that was this burnt, and Justin, another manager said, "You're not gonna like this answer, but I like mine well done." At that point, I gave up all hope in these two humans and requested a refund. Justin proceeded to say, "Everyone has a bad day..." That is no excuse. Please spare yourself the trouble and visit any other Panera besides the Nut Tree Panera. read more

I'm already a huge fan of Panera's breads and meals, but the service at this location is wonderful! I am always greeted with friendly service, but what what really puts it over the top is their commitment to customer service. One time I ordered a soup, but didn't really like it and just sort of left it on my plate. A server came by, cleared our plates, and asked if I wanted a to-go container. When I said no, she asked if there was anything wrong and I, grudgingly, said that it just didn't taste very good to me. She insisted on changing the order and giving me another item, for free. I tried to resist, because really, you aren't always going to find winners and that's ok, but she insisted, and I left with a full stomach, a free pastry and an impressed view! Another time the server brought me the wrong sandwich, and when I said that I had not ordered what she brought, she apologized profusely and returned very quickly with the right one. Overall, the food is great on it's own, but the level of customer service at this particular location has made me a fan for life, and I will return again and again, and recommend it to friends! read more

The customer service at this location continues to spiral downward. I was there today and all of the cashiers just walked off without saying a word. The customer in front of me turned to look at me because she couldn't believe it, either. Providing quality customer service should be a primary goal for all organizations. The frequency with with I visit the Vacaville location has significantly decreased because the store is poorly managed, they haven't yet figured out how to direct customer to line up properly, the customer service isn't great and, for some reason, they changed the recipe for the tomato soup. Vacaville shoppers now have a much better pool of restaurants to visit in the Nut Tree. Boudin SF has gotten more of my business that this Panera used to get. Panera had better step its game. The Christmas shopping season is about to kick off and shoppers tend to get really hungry as we spend our money. read more

Larry was absolutely great and helpful! I put in the computer (self check out kiosk) that I had a nut and gluten allergy and he personally delivered it to me after making it, ensuring me it was safe. My wife and I went there for the first time in months. The reason we haven't been back was during our last visit, the tables and restaurant was dirty. This time the same. We walked in around 7 pm, many tables had empty plates and bowls. Napkins on the floor. It hasn't changed. I don't know why anyone visits this dump anymore? I've done rapid order before & you get to pick the time your food should be ready. Both times recently I have to stand & wait while the workers goof off. First of all every time I go in to this Vacaville Panera store its always a mess and unfriendly employees who look miserable and stare at you in disgust. But even though they don't know how to train their employees in customer service, I still enjoy the food. So since their employees look like they can't stand life or get it together I usually just rather deal with their rapid pick up. I had my sister pick it up on her way home from the store. AFTER OVER AND HOUR OF WAITING, they tell my sister the order never showed up online...... so I call and ask what the heck is going on?? First of all, they were rude like expected, then the manager gets on the phone and says "what's up". Like seriously? You speak to customers with your unprofessional word track then he continued to pretty much blame me for not calling in to let them know it was a big order. Oh I'm sorry that you guys guarantee my food would be done by a certain time then tell my sister it was never found. How is that my issue? How unprofessional can you be to not even recognize that my sister has been waiting then not ask her if she has been assisted? Then he continued to tell me how I can prevent this from happening the next time. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!? How are you going to prevent this from happening the next time. BEWARE - I was food poisoned there last week! I've eaten at Panera Bread stores all over the country and normally the quality of the food is good, service is acceptable and the places are reasonably clean. Not the Vacaville store! Every time I go there which is near closing time, the place is an absolute mess, they're out of many items (like my chocolate chip cookies) and the service is ridiculously slow! Went there last Tuesday evening and had a smokehouse turkey paninni. Something didn't taste right, but I figured I was tired and it was just me. Well, six hours later I've got the worst case of vomiting and diarrhea that you could ever imagine and it's taken days to recover! Before someone tries to tell me otherwise, I had all the clinical symptoms of food poisoning, so this wasn't just some random virus that I just happened to acquire at the same time as stopping by a Panera restaurant.
