By the looks of it, management seems to be poor. Every encounter I've had with the managers has been rude. They always run out of bread, order more bread willya!!! Cashiers don't read back my order very often, so it ends up being wrong almost every time. But I do feel bad for those cashiers, sometimes it's only them up there and I see them having to get tons of the cookies and breads with a huge line! When I receive my food, those workers are not very friendly. But I have notice the girls who clean up the tables are the friendliest, as well as drive thru workers at times. And I wish there was a cut off to the people who go to the drive thru with $30++ orders. It's not fair to the rest of us who have to wait so long because of your long order!!! I've never had a problem with this location. It's my local location so it's automatically where I go. My boyfriend isn't a huge fan of them because of how expensive they are. He does like the turkey avocado blt but they recently changed the turkey from what seemed to be carved turkey to a deli meat turkey and he's pretty disappointed. I once ordered a grilled cheese and the cheese to bread ratio is awful. Way too much bread and definitely not worth the price. Unfortunately I'm a huge seasonal fan, so my favorite items aren't available all the time. Definitely recommend their winter squash soup that comes out during the fall and their poppyseed strawberry salad with chicken that comes out late spring. read more

We have gone to the Panera on Highway 99 in Hazel Dell now probably about 10 times. This is very close to our house and we love Panera so we were very excited when this first opened several months ago. However, we have been highly disappointed. The food is OK, but probably not up to the standards of the other locations near us. The paninis are especially thin with very little fillings in them. The thing that bothers us the most about this location is how dirty it is. Panera's logo reads "clean eating" but that is not a lot of fun when you have to eat in a dirty restaurant! The tables are always dirty, the floors and windowsills are always filthy. The bathrooms are dirty and are never stocked with toilet paper. The last time we stopped this past Sunday, both bathrooms were totally out of toilet paper and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The whole place hadn't been cleaned in a long time. They also would not serve me soup because they said it wasn't hot yet. This was late morning. I have gotten soup there before a lot earlier than that. It appears that the people who work there get there just in time to open the doors just before the customers, and have no time to pick up our cleanup or prepare anything. The parking always has food smashed all over it. The birds are usually there picking away at what is left over. It just appears that this place generally has really bad management and we will not be returning to this location. read more

I have been to this place twice. Once because it was new and I wanted to see what it was about. The second time because a friend invited me and I did not want to offend them by saying no. Both times I went, I truly was disappointed with the food and the service. The food is poor, usually comes out cold, The staff don't have any skills at service. I got a bowl of oatmeal and it was cold. It did not come with milk and when I asked for some and I was told they did not serve oatmeal with milk and I never was offered any. I had to go to the coffee bar and get milk from the container for coffee. This place is terrible. Don't waste your time or money going there. read more

Phoned in an order for 10:45am pickup. Timing was important because this was for a client meeting and we wanted to make a good impression. After we paid and waited for almost 10 minutes, we asked the manager of its status. She just told us that she had just gotten there and said nothing else. Come to find out, our order was only then being prepared. So much for the 10:45 pick up as we were late to our meeting. I wish I could give negative stars. I guess I shouldn't expect much from a chain food place but I also didn't expect it to be as bad as it was. The girl at the register barely spoke up I had to keep asking her to repeat what she was saying. I ordered a panini with a side of bread and when my order came out I got a sandwich with half ass melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, & cold ham with a side of chips. That is not what I ordered at all. What a horrible location - been there twice both times, bad service, long wait and wrong food. We went thru the drive thru ordered a whole sandwich and paid for it. Got half a sandwich. Second try, ordered online for rapid pickup sat thru a very long line in the drive thru and was told we had to park and come in. The reserved parking was occupied by their delivery vehicle. The order was sitting on a bookshelf for anyone to walk out with or worse. Got it home, wrong sandwich. Will never visit this location again. If you must have Panera food for goodness sakes drive to their Portland location. The other Vancouver location is bad too, over crowded, no drive thru, and about the same level of horrible service. read more

Visited for lunch and were excited to have an option in our area. Food was so so, soup was luke warm and even tho I inquired about and ordered the Greek Salad I got the Caesar Salad. Last night's meal was pretty disappointing. Although the food tasted fine, the facility in itself was a disgusting mess. The dining room was nearly empty but nearly every table needed to be cleared and wiped down. The trash receptacles were overfilled and the beverage station was littered with trash and spillage. I can understand if the restaurant is swamped but it was nearly empty and the staff showed no urgency in cleaning the area for the next diners. We ordered 3 pick 2s (half sandwich and cup of soup) and 3 beverages that amounted to nearly $45.00. For that price, the customer should have a pleasant dining experience. Management needs to step up and straighten this place our. It has been here for approximately 2 years but has the appearance of 20. I appreciate that Panera chose our neighborhood, I will appreciate Panera even more if they place more emphasis on customer value. The restaurant industry is moving to this area at a fast rate and thankfully giving potential customers choices. read more

I've never been to a Panera where you have to go inside to pay for a to go purchase... I pulled up to the drive through and the woman basically laughed when I asked why I can't get my to go order from the drive through "to go window". Is it not the point of fast food that it's too go.. I tired yet again this morning to give this place a chance. The drive through service is a roll of the dice for good service and rude service. Today it was rude girl. Nice. We frequent Panera on Hwy 99 often. Today I would like to compliment Roberto and Autumn. They both are very friendly and helpful and assist the new employees. Anna continues to help my husband with the broth bowl so that he likes it. My husband can't eat the new broth bowl on the menu. It is terrible. Other Panera should model after the Panera on Hwy 99. What to say... too much... if you are interested in spending way too much money on substandard food then this is the place for you! Unfortunately the Panera clean food commercials dont have anything with what they are serving up at this store. I have been here twice in as many weeks, and only went back to make sure the first bad experience wasn't a fluke. The answer is, it wasn't a fluke... it's too bad because I wanted it to be good, clean food, but it ended up being overpriced subpar food. Both times i went I ordered a sandwich and soup. The first was arugula and steak sandwich with French onion soup. The few ounces of steak that they put on the sandwich was mostly grizzle and fat and barely palatable. The soup came without swiss cheese, or croutons or a crostini. Kind of odd for a bread place, but then again, the sandwich was supposed to come on ciabatta bread but they were out. The second s andwich I ordered tonight was supposed to be steak and white cheddar, but the only sign of cheese was the crusted layer on top of the bread, which again was supposed to be ciabatta, but again, they ran out so I had to settle for focaccia. The (steak?), all 3 or so ounces of it, was again mostly grizzle and fat. I found myself chewing the bits of meat off of the grizzle. As for the pickled onions and horseradish, they were barely discernable. I also ordered the ten vegetable soup which was essentially an average minestrone. Honestly I would say Progresso makes a better vegetable soup. The bottom line, do yourself a favor and drive past this Panera and go to Taco Bell, or McDonalds, at least you know what your getting and it won't cost you $18.00 unless you're pigging out! The only reason I am leaving a 5 stars is because of GAIL. Gail is a lovely and hard working employee. I ordered my food (a salad and a sandwich). I look down on the receipt and soup is rang up instead of a sandwich. I go to the counter and say I ordered a sandwich (and a salad) not soup and they say ok no problem. They then tell me the bread is out on that sandwich. Okay not a big deal I will take whatever bread. They make me the sandwich I ordered and send me on my way. Meanwhile, I am still waiting for the other half of my order which is a salad. Wait, and wait as I still have my number on the table. Finally I ask Gail and she goes to see what the problem is. Apparently my salad never got made. Gail offered me a complementary dessert for my troubles and went out of her way to make sure they finally got the order right. This is not even including the fact that my mother pointed to a picture on the menu and said I want to order that and they rang up something else. Idk it must just be the front counter person but Gail definitely saved the day. Way to go GAIL!! read more

I will never go to Panera again. Not. Ever. Went through the drive through at this particular location and ordered two bread bowls of soup, one chicken noodle the other broccoli cheddar. The other two items I ordered were a Kale and Chicken panini sandwich and a turkey avocado sandwich. Ordered bread on the side for the bread bowls (instead of chips.) It cost a total of $38.00..... THIRTY EIGHT DOLLARS PEOPLE FOR TWO FULL SANDWICHES WHICH ARE SMAALLL AND TWO BREAD BOWLS OF SOUP!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTH PANERA????? Upon driving away, I had my daughter check the bag for correct items. They gave us chips instead of bread for the soup bowls...no big deal. So I pulled back to drive thru, told them and they exchanged my chips for bread. Got home, poured the tiny cup of chicken soup into the bread bowl. Didn't even fill it up halfway. My daughter took 6 spoonfuls and she was out of soup. ARE YOU FRICKIN' KIDDING MEE?????????? There was 2 oz. of chicken on my kale/chicken panini sandwich. Honest to God. RIDICULOUS. I've worked in the food industry for 20 years...I've been a server, manager, hostess, you name it. This is the worst quality of food for the price they are charging that I've seen in a very long time. They should be ashamed at what they are charging people and the product they are giving. I will never return. We could have gone to a restaurant and had a much, much better quality meal for the $38 I wasted here. So disappointing. Where is the quality control????
