After shopping in the area we stopped by Panera for some drinks. This Panera has indoor and outdoor seating as well as a drive-through. We hardly had to interact with anyone inside. We placed our orders on the Kiosk. I got the Agave Lemonade, my friend got the Strawberry Basil Lemonade Fresca. Mine came from the self serve dispenser, and my friend's from the kitchen. Hers had actual strawberries and basil in it. Both were pretty refreshing and lightly sweet. The inside was mostly empty, it appeared clean and hassle free. read more

This Panera restaurant is the worst I've been to. I tried to order lunch and many ingredients or items were out of stock. I finally settled on the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich, even though the type of lettuce it uses was out. Instead of substituting another lettuce, I think they may have doubled the tomatoes which made for a very soggy sandwich that was difficult to eat. I also ordered a serving of French onion soup which was missing the croutons and cheese. The many of the sides for the meals were also out of stock. I don't think I am going to eat a Panera again. read more

Credit is deserved to Panera for correcting the error where they did not include an item in my rapid pickup order. I had to submit a complaint online, though, because the store itself never answered the phone. They refunded me plus gave me a reward worth more than the item. So, good job there. However...this location did the SAME EXACT THING when I ordered to use my reward (which had a 1-week expiration). This store does not check nor care when you order a bakery item that is out of stock. They don't put a note on the pick up bag or refund the amount. Because I checked the pick up bag myself, they offered to substitute the item, but only because I checked and approached them. So, they haven't learned from the last time. On top of that, a few weeks later, I placed another pick up order. I received text messages that the order was received, being processed, then completed. I went tot the store to pick it up...empty shelf. No, no one took my order...they never even made it! Seriously, WTH is wrong with this location? The people responsible were not very apologetic...they do not seem fit for a customer service type position. While they did produce my order in a reasonable amount of time (the place was completely empty), I wanted the convenience of order-ahead, and I didn't get that. I understand that the labor force is lean right now, but I can't justify going back to this place. Tried the Garden Steakhouse salad and was inedible. The broccoli was frozen, the sweet potato cubes clearly were not cooked, they were cold and hard, the steak and pickled onions was also ice cold as almost crunchy frozen. Every bite was worse and I had to throw the whole salad away. I've been to this location many times and never had an issue. Disappointing I paid so much for the salad for it to be literally frozen except for the greens. Soup was fine. Also gave a 20% tip for the worst salad ever. read more

The absolute worst service. I was a sip cup member where you pay $12 a month for unlimited coffee and it's not worth it as you can't get anyone to wait on you to get your coffee cup. I'd rather go to Dunkin Donuts and pay $50 - $75 a month for individual cups as at least I get waited on. It's not difficult - you place your order, the order is printed off in the restaurant and they place a cup on the counter. After waiting today for 10+ minutes for someone to spend 5 seconds to put a cup in the counter, I left and went to Dunkin Donuts. I asked the person at the counter and she pulled "that's not my job" routine. And unfortunately this is their normal service. I'm willing to overlook an occasional lapse in service but it's so bad it's not worth the aggravation. read more

I was craving a salad that wasn't standard lettuce and tomatoes, etc. I'm the area of Panera and there's a drive through... I'm mentally prepped that I'm going to be dropping more money than I want to but I haven't eaten all day and I rationalize this overpriced purchase in my head. I order a small cup of Turkey chili and a salad with a blood orange lemonade. $20+ later, I'm still trying to convince myself that this is a good and valid decision I'm making. Ugh. Can you hear me grumbling over here? Cause I am. Flavor of chili is good and I'm super psyched it's not ground beef. Garbanzo beans! Ok I don't think I've ever had chili with chickpeas but I'm digging it and thinking I needed to make this at home...I find a bone in my turkey chili. Ugh. It happens. I take a sip of my lemonade (This is a sure thing, you can't mess up lemonade) and almost spit it out. Why does blood orange lemonade taste like perfume/chemicals. Literally, perfume. I had to take another sip because I just couldn't believe it. Chemically? What in the heavens... why does this beverage not taste like lemonade? Or oranges? It's offensive. Did not drink. Salad is... ok. Lackluster. But I have salad, avocado, and chicken and tiny amounts of feta. Tiny amount of quinoa. Each bite I'm taking I'm trying to convince myself that this is worth it. Firstly, Panera Bread food is good. Their sandwiches and salads and bakery items are fantastic. This poor review is regarding poor management, poor service and poor customer care. No. 1: On 4 separate occasions when we ordered a salad the food preparers forget to include the arugula, or the yogurt. See the photos attached. They don't tell you until you drive away. On one occasion we ate in the dining room and went back to the food pick up counter to let them know the arugula was missing and they snapped back "We're out." No apology. No offer to replace with another type of salad. And a chip on the shoulder attitude. No. 2: Some of the male food preparers ogle girls. Unprofessional and creepy. No. 3: A female food preparer was handling the food and breaking bread without gloves. I've been coming to this place for years and for whatever reason, the food preparers are always rowdy, rude and unprofessional. This store has high managerial turn over. This is a fairly new location for this bakery and cafe chain that I finally visited for the first time tonight. It was pouring rain when I met a friend for dinner here tonight but as soon as I entered the restaurant I was greated with by a warm and inviting atmosphere that is standard to all the Paneras that I have visited. Upon entering you are greeted by the bakery section which has an array of muffins, pastries and bagels to tantilize the senses. The menu is easy to read (even without my glasses LOL) and there are also conveniently placed menus WITH nutritional information located near the cash registers. Nutritional information is also listed on the menu boards Ordering was very easy and I had a very pleasant employee that took my order and all the "modifications" I made to it. I was given a buzzer and my meal was ready in less then five minutes. I got the chicken noodle soup and a turkey breast sandwich on rye bread. I asked for the sandwich to be toasted as well. My friend had the "Take 2" combo of Black bean soup and also a 1/2 turkey sandwich. I will agree with some of the other reviewers that although it did not take that much time to get my food my soup was lukewarm at best. The sandwich was pressed and warm but by the time I took a bite into it - the rye bread was soggy and the minimal amount of vegetables in the sandwich proceeded to fall out. Also - although the turkey breast was good, it was pre-sliced and it contained maybe 3 or 4 moderately thin slices in it. In addition to sandwiches, soups and salads - they also have a full coffee "bar" with free refills. I love the fact that the coffee canisters have a time stamp as to when the coffee was made. There is nothing I hate more then old (and cold) coffee. There are also comfy chairs for patrons to enjoy your coffee and/or pastry. All in all a solid store with plenty of seating BUT it is a pricey for the type and quantity of sandwich I got. For about the same price I could have gotten a more substantial grinder, however, I would not have had the ambiance that Panera exudes. Will I go back - yes - but I probably will not go back because I crave a Panera Sandwich. Based on these factors I give 2 1/2 stars. I am giving the restaurant an extra 1/2 star was because of the employees who, even at 9pm on a Thursday night, were very pleasant and even gave me a blueberry muffin for the road. He then looks at the one bag that had been sitting there unclaimed forever named "Jenn" and said that this had been mine. Again SO. UNACCEPTABLE. No one apologized for the mix up. Although we love Panera, the service is awful. We were running errands, and I thought it would be easy to order through the app for a drive thru pick up. The line was only 4 cars, but we ended up waiting for 20 minutes. The order 3 mac and cheeses (kids meals), one sandwich, and a coffee. Check and make sure they put the chicken on, it only seems to be about a 50% success rate. Order a to go order for pick up at a certain time? I like the food at Panera, and I often bring my laptop here to get work done while I have breakfast. Today I went in for the first time in a while. They are now insisting that everyone order using screens installed in the front of the store. I am not anti-technology (I order via their digital app and pick up when I am in a hurry), but sometimes I have a question or another reason for wanting to talk to a human. They didn't have anyone working the front of store at all. They must have either fired people or just drastically reduced their hours; classy move, Panera. Had not been to a Panera Bread in years but grandkids wanted to go because they "loved" their macaroni and cheese. First off had to wait 6-8 minutes while order taker was being trained in how to open a roll of quarters which was promptly spilled all over the floor. Ordered combos for the three kids and a steak and cheese sandwich for myself. Over 55 bucks and the terminal asked if I wanted to leave a tip. (No) While waiting I had plenty of time to check the place out - absolutely disgusting! Board of health would shut this place down for any number of infractions. They would be wise to conceal the food prep area from the public. The dining area was filthy with crap all over the tables and the drink machine leaking a sticky mess onto the floor. The food eventually came about 15 minutes later. For more than $15 I wasn't really expecting a Geno's Philly cheesesteak but this was pathetic! Maybe two ounces of meat and a bit of burnt cheese. All I could really taste was the horseradish sauce. As for the kids only the oldest finished all of his while the little ones about half. Located on the Silas Dean Highway it's a quick drive from I-91S in the plaza with Bed, Bath and Beyond, Plato's closet and other stores. With a road filled with restaurants and other places to grab food, Panera keeps up to the competition. Part of it could be the name or the food, but I'll go to a Panera especially this one to grab a better lunch that fast food. This time around I got my usual You Pick Two with a sandwich and soup ending it off with a smoothie and my daily Dec bagel. The layout could be better as I can get pretty packed and people standing in lanes of travel. The location sports a drive thru, indoor and outdoor seating focusing on seating people that having a lot of decorations though there is a fireplace but not comfy chairs that invite to grab a hot drink and a good book. This place would benefit from utilizing IPads like the Manchester location splitting up guest to those that will order with someone else and those that are crafting their meals themselves. Haven't done drive thru or delivery but I think that sandwiches, salads and soups should be eaten while you're stationary. read more

Disappointing. I tried to place a rapid order online and used a Giftcard. I'm not sure what happened but my order was gone. Not feeling well so it's possible it was my mistake. Anyway when I got there it took a while to try and figure out what happened. I was fine with waiting on the long line to replace my order - I just wanted to ensure I wasn't paying twice. The staff just seemed perturbed by my inquiries albeit they seemed Busy. My cashier was nice enough and friendly. They were out of a few things and my bowl of soup was 3/4 full and had dripped down the sides, wasn't hot and the top wasn't fully on. The bread was hard and staleish. I asked for a sample of the two vegetarian soups when I was picking up my order (it was an afterthought) and the person seemed annoyed. I wound up going back to the cashier who helped me and she was nice enough to get it for me and not give me attitude. Considering the price of the soup I'd rather not go back! Frustrating since historically I enjoyed Panera but this is not the 1st blah encounter with this place. Both locations ran out of chips, bread, Romain Lettuce. Orders were wrong and not complete. Employees are rude. I was patient and kind. I thanked them for the order. No concern to apologize for the long wait in either location. Ordered 2 For... got full sandwich plus soup -- and was charged for full sandwich when I asked for half. No cheese on onion soup. I got to the front to pick up my order and the customer service was just as bad! Just a pissy attitude from beginning to end. When I got to the front I wasn't far away from the window, but she couldn't be bothered to meet me halfway; my hand was reaching into the window. My wife and I were in the immediate area in order to pick up our dog at the vet on a Saturday morning and happened to see this restaurant. It was mid-morning so we checked the display and the blueberry scones shouted out to us. If you want either butter or jam, you will have to request it because these were not offered. I have been to this location a few times and the last two experience has been extremely poor, both in terms of customer service, timely readiness of the order and quality of the food. Ordering for a chicken and avocado panini comes with no avocado and the sandwich looks sloppy. The orders take for ever to be ready. I am a huge fan of Panera Bread and I was incredibly excited to see a location built in my town but unfortunately this location does not meet my expectations. The food is inconsistent and mediocre at best when just a few miles away on the Berlin turnpike Panera location I can get the same meal for better. Once I was served burnt and spoiled tasting broccoli and cheddar soup. Any other time I order a panini or sandwich its messily thrown together and not up to the standard I have seen at other locations. No care is put into the meals even though they take an abnormally long time to put together. The staff on several occasions have been rude and unprofessional. When the location first opened it seemed like the staff was barely trained and frantic but I was understanding when one of the employees shoved an entire 12"+ stale baguette into my takeout bag. On more than one occasion I've been met with unnecessary attitude or straight out rude comments going through the drive through. One time specifically a young lady was terse and annoyed through the intercom and when I pulled up to the window her tone stayed the same. When she took another 10 minutes to bring me my food I reminded her that I asked for whipped cream on my smoothie and she scoffed loudly and took her time to do as I requested. Another time a young man was too busy speaking with his coworker to acknowledge my presence although he had my drink in his hand. All he had to do was turn around and hand it to me but instead he continued his conversation. All and all this staff is very obviously not held up to the same Panera Bread's employee protocol as any other location. On the better side of the 2 stars the seating is great and it's always a great place to bring work or meet up with friends. I come to this location for its convenience but I'd suggest taking the 10-15 minute ride to the Berlin turnpike location if you want the quality Panera usually provides or just bread because this location is apparently frequently completely out of the main commodity. read more

Updated review: Dropping down to 2.5 stars; despite placing a large order at 9:00 a.m. for a "Rapid Pick-Up" order at noon (12:00 p.m.) , the order was still about 10 minutes late. Unlike the Panera in Manchester (on Demming), this location at least has a separate area for their rapid pick-up orders (which is basically a bookshelf where you pick-up your order based on your last name -- much like how would find a book in a library bookshelf.). Like most other Panera restaurants, this location is busy at peak hours so be prepared to wait. One last quibble: In addition to the order being late, the bag also broke on our take-out order. We had placed a very large order, and while all items in the bag were carefully packed, the entire order nearly fell to the ground because the bag broke when it was handed to us. We weren't even offered a replacement bag. So, next time we hope that, instead of placing a very large in one brown paper bag, maybe two bags would have been more prudent. read more

Once we had the food picked up, wrong muffins provided and one was only the top to the muffin, bagels hard (likely sitting out and same ones that were supposed to delivered). Cream cheeses were tiny. It was so embarrassing when I had Contractors and coworkers at my house and this is what they provided. They gave it to me for free but the food was not good so I will not be returning.
