My recommendation to management is to make sure the tables are tightened up I had to move to two different tables because the top was swinging and every time I moved my soup was spilling and the ceiling vents need to be cleaned they are collecting so much dust that I think it gave me Claustrophobia .. it's smells so bad because the carpet is so dirty. This Panera Bread location is in a pretty good location of Williamsburg. If you haven't been before, you may get confused on how to get in and out of the parking lot. The restaurant itself is very clean and the baked goods always look fresh. The tea and coffee station is kept very organized. The customer service was great. Everyone was very friendly and the food came out fast. The ambiance was perfect. There is a large eating area. Today it was not crowded but the acoustics were terrible. For being so empty it was loud and you could hear the food preparers throughout the dining area. The Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup portion was very small compared to what I have gotten from other Panera Bread (PB) locations. Also, the soup was so watered down and did not have the consistency nor flavor I've experienced at other PB locations. The Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad Sandwich was not up to par either. The chicken salad ad a dry consistency and was in a lump form rather than spread over the entire piece of bread. The Ciabatta Bread was good though. This location was just not what I'm used to experiencing at Panera Bread. Not sure whether this happens all the time or not but today I ordered "Dine-In" using the App. My name shortly appeared on the order board as received. While waiting for my food, people that were ordering in store after my name was on the board started popping up on the board ahead of me and were subsequently getting their food ahead of me. I didn't appreciate the lady yelling at me across the restaurant asking me if I am there for DoorDash and if I couldn't see the sign. That was not only embarrassing in front of everyone but it was also wildly unprofessional. If you look at the cameras I was there for a while and no one greeted me. I was also looking around to see where the order was. So in response to that unprofessional comment the employee made, Yes I saw the sign but could not get help. The sign is pointing to the right, I walked to the right and didn't see my order. No one ever greets me and I've been delivering there for years. I boycotted you guys for months and when I give you a chance to be professional this is how I'm treated once again. It is no mystery why your rating is terrible. And that's sad because you are located in a prime time area. Treat your guest with respect there was no reason to humiliate me or anyone just because you put a sign up with arrows. The employee is lucky I am patient. You treat the wrong person that way you might escalate a situation that could have been resolved by simply saying, Hi sir are you here for DD, we moved our pickup location. It doesn't matter which Panera Bread we go to, the orders include almost the same thing every time. A strawberry smoothie. My youngest loves the strawberry smoothie from Panera Bread. I really like using the kiosks inside for when I order because it remembers my favorites list. Every Panera looks similar, not a ton of frills. The drink stations are nice because you can refill your drink before leaving. The open kitchen is nice because you can talk to a person in the event you have a question or issue. My food might not always be the best, but as long as the Strawberry Smoothie continues to be made the exact same way at every location, I will continue to give 5 stars because you made my kids day. read more

I live in New Town and this location would be perfect if it weren't for the poor management. I order bagels through the app frequently and am almost always disappointed by the service. Today was no exception. I placed my order at 7am to pick up at 9. The first clue that something was not going well was that they were already out of plain bagels so I substituted other types to make my Bakers Dozen. I received an instant email confirming my order. When 9:00 came I had not received notification that my order was ready to be picked up so I looked at the app and it said the order was delayed. I called the store and when the person answered she said could I please hold for two minutes. Two minutes? No, I said I was waiting for a bagel order that is delayed and wanted to find out how much longer it would be. She asked if I had ordered on the app and when I said I had, she told me that the app was down and they were not taking any app orders. When I reported to her that I had received an email confirmation of my order at 7:15 this morning, she asked me my name. When I told her, she said that they were ready. I wanted to ask her why I wasn't notified that they were ready but I didn't. I went to pick them up right away and found that the customization (slicing all in half) had not happened. This store almost always seems disorganized... the employees are often chatting with each other while customers are waiting and many times they either don't seem to know what's going on or they don't care. I really like Panera and am always happy with the food... what upsets me is that here I am, within walking distance of the place and I have decided to take my business to the Panera on Richmond Road in Lightfoot. read more

We ordered at the self-serve kiosks and waited for our salad and soups to be ready. Took around 15 minutes with one or two orders ahead of us. Everything was correct and we had no issues. But the mix of lettuces, strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple was delightfully well-balanced. I paired it with the baguette and the cream of chicken and wild rice soup, which (like most commercial soups) was a bit on the salty side. But I washed it down with their wonderfully refreshing plum ginger hibiscus tea- unsweetened (0 calories!) and delicious. Darling Bride got the summer corn chowder (delicious and sadly seasonal) paired with the chipotle chicken avocado melt. Our Spawn had the barbecue chicken flatbread and a caramel latte. He pronounced it "good! It actually got me to eat cilantro, which tastes like champagne poured over Lava soap!" I'm not sure how he knows, but okay... Dinner for the three of us was about $36 bucks. Probably the worst experience I've ever had an any Panera ever. Ordered online for pick up for a total of 4 people. The total bill was nearly $80 so value for money is already at a premium. Plugged the address into multiple GPS apps (Waze, Google maps, Apple Maps, etc). And every one of them put the store over 1/2 mile from where it actually is. After driving around for 20 minutes looking for the place, I tried calling the store for help. Called at least 6 times, and every time no one ever answered. Why even have a phone number listed if you refuse to answer? Finally went into another store and the employees there were able to give us an idea where it was located (Panera should probably give the Vitamin shop employee a free sandwich for helping a Panera customer). When we finally found the store, it wasn't very busy at all (so no reason to ignore the phone), a normal lunchtime at any Panera I've been to and other store seem to manage things much better. On their menu online they list sweet tea. I never knew Panera had sweet tea, but thought maybe because we were further south maybe that is why they had it. Turns out, they don't have it. It's just unsweetened and you add sugar. Don't put something on your menu if you don't really have it. read more

Great taste and descently fast service on a busy, hot afternoon. We had just finished walking in Colonial Wiliamsburg with our 2 dogs and were looking for a quick bite with an outdoor seating area so we could get them some water while we ate. We picked Panera Bread from their Google Maps photos showing their large outdoor seating area and were not disappointed upon arrival. The outdoor area wraps around the side, with the majority of it being in the back. It has at least 11 or 12 different tables, most with at least one cushioned seat and a large umbrella. We brought our own bowl to give water to the pups and had a pleasant lunch! I got the Frontega Chicken Panini with a side of chips. Tasted excellent! It definitely hit the spot in combination to the Green Tea I got to wash it down. Her meal + mine cost just over $20. read more

I decided to stop by this Panera Bread after enjoying the beautiful views in colonial Williamsburg. The service was quick (considering how busy it was) and the food tasted great. I had my two dogs with me, so I wanted a place that had outside seating. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much outside space this particular Panera offered to their customers. Most of the seating was also shaded, which was nice considering how hot it has been lately! I ordered a you pick 2 with half salad (green goddess) and a chipotle chicken sandwich. My salad was AMAZING! It was so refreshing and crisp after walking for most of the day. I would highly suggest ordering a you pick two if you are unsure of a menu item.
