I never really have good Panera Bread experiences. Between bad service, food poisoning, and not getting my money's worth, I simply just avoid the place altogether. I did try it one more time and again it was under par. I ordered the Tomato and Mozzarella Panini for $7 and received very skimpy pieces of tomato with little pieces of mozzarella. It was not a sandwich, and absolutely not worth $7 unless those tomatoes were produced by a king. However, the service was helpful and the few young kids working there helped me out. Without their help I may have never even tasted the mozzarella or tomato since the dry bread eliminated the infinitesimal taste supplied by slivers of the "meat" of the sandwich. All in all, I personally do not recommend Panera Bread unless you're willing to spend some money and/or don't need much food to fill you up. Mishaps at Panera Bread are common and some of my peers also have similar issues at other Panera Breads. read more

I am not a big fan of this place, because compare to other places, their food is bit high price. During the lunch hour is always crowed, i don't understand why people MUST come here. It's not a great place for meal. But I admit it I come here when I need to meet up with people. First it's close to my house, and people don't need to know where I live, but they can sit here and talk to me with cup of coffee. Anyway, I heard a rumor from their employee, said their ice coffee is made out of those pass over time hot coffee, so it's not fresh made. And they use dirty towel to wipe their plate.. Nothing different than any other Panera across the country. All the staff here is really friendly and nice. It does get extremely packed here during lunch hours, so don't be surprised if you are standing in line for 10-15 minutes to place your order. read more

Never going back.....And alerting everyone I know. Before you can deliver a great guest experience you must care about it. At this Panera they certainly don't - or at least didn't tonight...Missing food, the counter server didn't enter an item into the system yet somehow we got the side that come with that item?!?!?! Grilled cheese was a total failure. Half melted and still cold cheese on a terrible white bread. Certainly not "Classic" and certainly not grilled but appeared to be done in a micro wave - complete with dehydrated crust on the bread. If I just hadn't spent 3 hours in a car and hungry, I would have simply thrown the entire thing in the trash...Panera makes me feel like it was $15 bucks stolen from me ...I'm 35 years in the franchised restaurant business and this place was really off tonight. Panera is my go to franchise for breakfast when I'm on the road, and this location is really amazing. The cleanliness, and the staff here are one of a kind. I wish I could give 0 star. I'm not from around this area so when I saw the low rating I thought that it couldn't have been that bad... wrong! I placed a mobile order at 5:20 and the app said that my food would be done at 5:30. I walk in at 5:35 and my food still wasn't done which is fine, I don't mind waiting a little. But when a little turns into 40 mins and your food still isn't done that a problem. Long story short they had my food to the side near the cash registers just waiting until a worker walked by and said who's food it this. The presence or absence of one good staff member makes all the difference to the dining experience. Panera had discontinued my favorite breakfast sandwich, and one of the associates here offered to make it for me because they still have most of the ingredients. Of course, that made this my favorite panera location. Much to my consternation, this awesome employee of Panera was not working the line the last couple of times I ate here. My order was taken by Eileen, the shift manager herself. Not only did she decline to accommodate my request (the sandwich was no longer in their system and it would be too much of a hassle for her to price it by charging for a basic egg sandwich and then adding upcharges for the add-ons - of course, her convenience holds precedence over a customer's wish!) but she also indicated that she would have a word with the awesome employee who did try to please the customer. How dare he try to accommodate a customer's request without seeking the shift manager's approval! The sandwiches that they do have are also quite tasty, so this experience will not be a deterrent for me from returning to Panera. The fresh cracked egg and white cheddar sandwich is a great breakfast option, and the steak and egg sandwich is what I have dubbed the breakfast of champions! read more

Portions getting consistently smaller and prices getting consistently higher has resulted in them losing my patronage. Sandwiches are inconsistent and often missing fillings. $10 for a couple of small pieces of bread, a slice of deli ham, a bit of cheese and a bag of chips is just ridiculous. I could complain about the sometimes surly cashier staff, but let's be honest, if you worked at Panera, you'd probably be miserable, too. Lunchtime is busy, can take 10-15 mins from walking in to walking out with your food. Ultimately, this is just another fast food chain dressed up in a pretty dress, with lipstick. Way overpriced to boot. I believe it only gets the business it does because there are so few alternatives in this area. Pity. read more

I used to be a big fan of Panera Bread shops, that is before I went gluten free. They have no gf menu, which I find very not cool for a chain that has a large menu. Zero gf pastries, the only soups gf are black bean and chili (I don't like either flavor) and maybe some salads could work as gf if they leave the croutons off. So disappointing to not be able to enjoy the comfy seating and atmosphere here anymore. I go in for a beverage sometimes but all I ll eat is a bag of chips. I feel that they should have some gf selections, even if it's pre boxed. C mon Panera, it's 2015, lots of folks need or want gf. If gf isn't an issue for you, paneras are great with a big selection of sandwiches, soups and salads as well as pastries. This location in particular is clean, friendly and the lines usually move fast. Id def give more stars if they were gf friendly. read more

This is only reflecting on the delivery aspect of this branch. I work no more than 10 mins away from this location. We decided to order some food for lunch on one of our busier days so no one was able to pick it up. After placing the order for delivery we waited almost 2 hours for our food, when some of the employees got a little hangry we decided to call just to ask where the food was and if it was even sent out yet. We had to have called about 7 times back to back to even get someone to pick up the phone, after being transferred and being on hold for a while we finally got to speak to the manager. She apologized obvs and told us that our next order will be comped! Which was very generous of her. After waiting a little longer our food finally arrived. Average at best. The following week we decided to take her up on the offer of the comped meal! Her instructions were to call her and place the order over the phone! So we did just that....and yet again 3 HOURS LATER!!!! Nothing was brought to our place of work. We decided to call back to atleast ask where the food was or if we could cancel the order at this point, and ofcourse no one picked up the first 6 times we called. At this point half the staff was leaving without getting their lunch and the other half was pissed. I'm pretty sure it would be quicker for me to walk to Missouri where their headquarters are located and ask the ceo Blane E. Hurst to make me a turkey sandwich and bring it back to work before the Panera in Woodcliff Lake. When we finally got the manager on the phone she told us that our order was never placed!!!! Do not use for catering if you want the food to actually arrive. Placed a delivery catering order via the phone for 10 people the day before a meeting. The order was for standard sandwiches, salads, chips, cookies, drinks, etc - nothing too complicated. The meeting site was 3 miles from the restaurant. The food never arrived. After 45 minutes of waiting, I called to inquire where the food was, and I was placed on a 25 minute hold. After minute 25 I figured I'd call on another line, and was told that I had canceled the order. What? I then asked if that was the case, why was I still on hold on the other line? The lines can be a problem, rendering Panera a victim of its own success. The service has always been helpful and fast, but I only go on the weekends and cannot speak to the weekdays. I've never had a bad experience at any Panera location, but this is the one I frequent the most due to it's proximity to my work. With so many delicious soups to choose from, it can be tough to decide which one to order...the garden vegetable, chicken noodle and creamy tomato are arguably my three favorites. I'm a big fan of their kale chicken salad as well. If I'm craving a something with bread, my go-to choices are the Italian combo, the frontega chicken panini and the steak asiago. You really can't miss, and at affordable prices and fresh quality there's no reason I won't continue to order from here. read more

Along with that, the staff here is really the nicest I've encountered at a Panera Bread. As one of the few lunch spots in the area for many corporate offices on this street, this place really fails, and especially during lunch. Food is acceptable. Portions are small for the average person IMO. Somewhat expensive to get a full meal for fast food. I'd avoid this place from 11-2 unless you preorder for pick up. It being open late is a plus because it's usually a ghost town after 4. The staff is nice but very slow. I understand its "fast food" and they get paid no matter how fast they are but the majority of their customers are coming in on their lunch break. Most people have to order eat and get back to work in an hour and don't want to spend all that time waiting on line. Management needs to find a way to get faster service. read more

I decided to go here for a quick lunch with my friends. We had a 45 min time limit. All I ordered was a bowl of chicken noodle soup and my friends got a salad, Mac and cheese and sandwich. After 15 mins of waiting, my friend got her Mac and cheese. 10 mins after that came the salad and sandwich. I had to go up to the counter to see what was taking so long because I had to leave within the next 15 mins. The woman was very stand off and said it will be ready soon. I mean how long does a bowl of soup take! It's all premade. I had to go a second time because it was getting to the point where I had to leave in the next 5 mins. My friends were done eating and ready to go and I was very angry with the service. Finally the person gives me my soup with no apology and I was very disappointed. There is never enough staff and when there is staff, they are rude and never seem to know what they're doing. It's very frustrating because a salad sandwich and Mac and cheese were all brought to our table and it took me about 35 mins to get my bowl of soup that takes 5 seconds to put in a bowl. So glad I had 3 minutes instead of 20 to down my soul before I had to leave. Definitely won't be coming back for a while. read more
