I hadn't been to Panera in a while but we decided to stop by after shopping. Service was quick and efficient. Tables were clean and everything was neat and organized. The staff were really nice and stopped by with a cookie tasting platter. I had turkey chili soup and a half a green salad. The portions were good and the apple I had with it was tastey. Every evening they start to close down around 6 o'clock. The entire floor is wet covered in water and they start to clean up three hours before they close that's not fair to the customer. We just want to enjoy and our food and we do not want to be in the midst of vacuuming and mopping. I hope someone from corporate is reading this And going to do something about it. I usually order from my phone and the food is always ready on time - hot and fresh and consistently tasty. Not sure why this Panera has such a low rating--it's similar to other Paneras (quick-ish sandwich, soups, salads, some baked items that are a bit overpriced for what you're getting) and the only food option in this little plaza with a bunch of retail shops. It gets very busy, especially around lunchtime, which is annoying but the line moves relatively quickly and you can usually find a spot to sit if you look around. I recently got the You Pick 2 option--grilled cheese + creamy tomato soup + chips = $8.32 for a combo that isn't that filling. If you order a drink with your meal, you get a 99 cent pastry as well. I would avoid ordering the "deli meat" sandwiches, as you're not getting anything too special and it's not a big portion. The service has been fine-ish, and it's not like you're expecting 5-star service anyway. The signage isn't great if you don't know what you want to order, especially if you're standing at the register that's off to the side. Sign up for the rewards program, which gives you rewards for number of visits; this program doesn't entice you to spend more, just to come back often. The rewards are also not that awesome and they don't really add up with continued loyalty ($2 off, free drink, etc.) They could pick up a few tips from Starbucks' loyalty program. read more

Where do I start? Oh yeah, let's start off with me using their website for a pick-up. After I got the confirmation from the website, I go to Panera at my suggested 'pick-up' time and guess what? My name is not even on the screen and I wasn't charged for the order. I spoke to one of the employees and they said if my name is not on the screen for online pick-up, the order did not go through. Since I was hungry and also picking up a coworker's order, I proceeded to go to the kiosk to order my food again. Then, I go back to the pick-up section where there's a long line of people that have been waiting for their food for more than 20 minutes and once again, noticed my name is not on the screen. I made this known to one of the employees and she said, "well, if you paid with a debit card, your name will not show up; just 'guest' and a number attached to it." What??? How is that even organized? While waiting for my food, people were returning their food to the pick-up section claiming the food is not theirs. After 20 minutes of waiting and hoping my order did not get mixed up with someone else's, I finally get my food, take it back to work and behold, the chicken salad was so watery that the bread became soggy. Visit here during the lunch hour if you miss the bread lines of the Great Depression. This is the best Panera Bread location in my area, and yet, I am not in love. The food is acceptable, but not inspired (unless you are into bread gluttony). Blindfold me and tell me it's Subway. There is no difference. The turnover of staff is another tragedy. But I entered at my own risk and for just under four dollars I had a watered down version of a latte. Most likely the worst latte ever. Now the bread on the other hand is a different story. Was really pleased to see how well this Panera location was handling its operations during Covid! All orders were taken at the kiosks and all staff members wore masks. There was limited outdoor seating available, but if you don't come at peak times you will be more than able to find a table. The staff was really friendly and accommodating, offering to bring your meals out to you if you were seated outside and needed extra hands. Very poor experience. (11/11/21 Order # 401336 - Says cashier was Steve but it was a very thin blonde woman) Walked in at 10:20. Viewed the menu board. Then waited for help. It didn't come. We walked around the corner but that was the pick up window. When we got back it was 10:30 on the nose and we were told, rudely, that we could not order breakfast. Not happy, we order two sandwiches. There was no indication that there is horseradish on the steak sandwich. My wife did not finish. When I went back up to get a 99 cent treat, same woman said we had to order food. Let me start this review by stating that I do enjoy food from Panera and this review has to do with this specific location. I recently stopped in this Panera location at 11:30 to beat the lunchtime crowds in an effort to quickly grab some food to bring back to the office. The line ahead of me was relatively short, and the line quickly grew behind. Once my order was placed ($9 for half a panini and a small mac and cheese), I moved down to wait by the pick up window. A man packaged half of my order then disappeared for a minute. In that minute that he walked away, the panini press sprung open indicating that my order was ready (hooray!). At this point in time, a woman behind the counter looked me in the eye (I was literally the only person waiting for food) and picked up a spatula aimed for my panini. I guess the aim of the spatula was a big off, and combined with a strong push it sent my $5 half of a sandwich flying into a bin of who-knows-what. She picked it up, placed it on the spatula and left it on the counter before turning to look me in the eye once again. 30 seconds later the man returned, boxed the sandwich and called my name prompting me to ask "Excuse me, but is that bin clean? Because I just saw my sandwich in it." He insisted that "No, the panini comes off of the press and was on this spatula on the counter..." and all this time the woman just stood there silent. After some back and forth I discovered that it was a bin full of chicken. She knew it was my sandwich and she knew that I saw what happened. Can you honestly tell me who wants to pay that much for food to have it bounce around in areas that it shouldn't be? How do I know that bin is clean? What if I were a vegetarian and my food fell in with chicken? This is one poor customer service experience that has 100% lead to the loss of my business at this establishment, including group lunch outings that I am involved in with colleagues. What can I say it is panera. Not a bad chain restaurant, one of the best places to get a quick salad. I like their Asian apple salad with the crispy apple chips in it. I also like their bagels which are pretty good especially their cinnamon roll one that is really dessert. read more

Eat at this location if you like getting quarter portions for the same price. The food itself is fine, and the same as the other locations. They really stiff you on portions though. A half sandwich means "half" the portion of a full sandwich. So I don't understand why they think they can get away with messing up the easiest division problem. All you need to do to figure out if they're ripping you off is just imagine 2 of the "half" sandwich you're holding lol. I once ordered a full sized sandwich and a pick two size of the same one, and the former was 4x the size of the latter. This place tends to get really packed during lunch hour, and really loud, so I prefer coming here in the off-hours. The only other negative experience I've had here was when one of the cashiers incorrectly charged me too much on my card, so I brought it up (politely since I never f*** with anyone who handles my food) and asked for it to be changed. He gave me an annoyed look and told me that this would mean he would need to get his manager to approve the change, then acted inconvenienced when I said I wanted to be charged the correct amount. read more

I asked to speak to the manager whom was one of the rudest and belittling people i think i have ever spoken to. Panera....where do I start?? Baked potato soup is my weakness for some reason. A delicious treat on a cold, cloudy, dreary winter day. Their sandwiches are also a hit. For the longest time I didn't even go to the bakery. That all changed a few weeks ago (well, early October) when I got an email alerting me that their pink ribbon bagels are back. They are absolutely delcious! Shame they don't have them all year round, and definitely a worthy cause! Get it toasted with a little butter by the way! I think the next move will be to try their other bagels and baked goods. Their breakfast sandwiches are out of this world as well. I'm tired of the other chains and their fast food breakfast. BLUF: A sub-par Panera Bread in Tice's Corner Market. Went with the Chicken Noodle soup and the fudge brownie which were average and definitely nothing to rave about. After visiting the Apple Store in Tice's Corner to get my iPhone worked on, I decided to stop by the Panera Bread next door. It was a chilly afternoon and I haven't been to Panera in a while so a hot bowl of soup and a side of fresh pastries sounded enticing. When I walked in at 1300 on a Monday afternoon, and the restaurant was extremely packed. I finally got a small table in the corner and dropped off my bag and laptop to mark off my territory. I went to the counter and ordered a large chicken noodle, side of bread, a fudge brownie, and a strawberry banana smoothie. The chicken noodle was just average. While the broth was seasoned perfectly and the vegetables were fresh, the chicken was quite dry, even for a soup. As for the sides, the bread was slightly stale and the brownie was far too sweet. The edges of the brownie was rock solid and the frosting on top of the pastry was far too heavy. for my taste. The strawberry banana smoothie was excellent on the otherhand. It was a perfect blend of a commercial smoothie that yet tasted homemade. The smoothie was thick and grainy in a way it felt like a homemade blend with fresh, backyard ingredients. However, the balance of sweetness to savory flavor was 'on point'. Ultimately, I won't be returning for a meal here anytime soon. This Panera is on my way to the office, so naturally every once and I while I stop in for breakfast. I never have a positive experience. The employees behind the counter are either flustered, rude or untrained. Never a smiling face in this joint. It's always clear that no one is happy to work there. Even when it's not particularly busy, they're rushing. They are often out of ingredients, and sometimes forget to give me everything I've ordered. If you order a dozen bagels, make sure you count them before you leave. I only got 7 bagels out of a dozen when I ordered once, and I called to let them know they should check that more closely, and they just said "Yeah, there's nothing we can do about that." Counting? really? There's nothing you can do to more accurately count to 12? I've been coming to this Panera for months, hoping it's just a phase, but it doesn't appear to be going anywhere. It should also be noted that although on the whole Panera is getting pricier, I often don't mind the price for the nice big salads and sandwiches I get. But this location manages to give you less, put together with less care. If you can help it, go elsewhere. If you can't, I wish you luck. read more
