We ordered two paninis, and had a long wait for them, and when they arrived, one was not pressed. We were a little annoyed. Once we were all set, the sandwiches ended up being absolutely delicious. While we were eating them, the owner came out and apologized for the delay. She gave us a plate with some of the lightest, fluffiest, melt-in-your-mouth cream puffs we've ever tasted. Went on business day trip with my husband, and as I was driving around came across this adorable area of Palm Beach, and on the corner of my eye saw this charming place with two couples outside. One couple were totally enjoying there food and talking about it so I decided to go in and check it out and so excited I did. It was so worth going off Paleo for the day! I had an amazing ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was perfect. But what really got me was the bite size cream puff with real custard cream; it was the perfect size. It truly was the best cream puff I ever had. What a disappointment!! We' were there on a Saturday for green market . My wife is a classically trained baker.she ordered an almond croissant. Not only was it cold soggy,it was stale. We had lunch today out of the blue and what a lunch it was. Perfect brie on bagette (fig spread and walnuts...amazing) and goat cheese salad. Both were superb! Perfect breakfast spot! We stopped here unexpectedly because our planned spot didn't open until 10:00am. Boy am I glad we did! To be honest, we didn't expect much more than delicious coffee. We were delightfully surprised by how delicious the food was. I had the ham & cheese crop and it was phenomenal. My friend had the quiche Lorraine and said it was the best quiche she'd ever tasted. Sensationnel...WOW... I'm a new resident, and have tried most of the cafes/coffee shops in the West Palm Beach area. Most are a disappointment either in their food or coffee. Paneterie is without a doubt top notch in every way. The friendly welcome by the owner Hélène. Her delicious and fresh food, especially her breakfast baguette, and quiches are to die for. The pastries are truly an experience for ones 'taste buds'. The coffee used at this establishment is delicious. The ambiance, and atmosphere sitting outside is just what the doctor ordered. I would highly encourage anyone who has yet to try this delightful cafe/bistro to pop in ASAP. It is evident that the owner has high standards in her 'product'. Had one of the best salads I ever had last week at this small restaurant. I don't eat many salads especially if they have an oil or vinegar based dressing but this one was delicious! It is called a Hot Goat Cheese Salad and I wish I could eat it every day! And what made it even better it came with this sliced baguette lightly toasted with melted goat cheese thinly sliced onions and thinly sliced pears on top. It was heavenly! On my way back to a parking garage after a job interview, I stumbled upon Paneterie. Someone greeted me as soon as I walked in, which was nice. I was almost ready to leave because I didn't see any gluten free pastry but then the gf macarons caught my eye.The lady who waited on me placed the macarons in a pretty box and was pleasant and chatted with me as I decided what flavors I wanted. I ordered 3 chocolate and 2 lemon. I ate 2 of the macarons on the way home and the rest later. The chocolate filling was so rich and smooth. The lemon was tart with a touch of sweet. Been to this place few times and tried there sandwiches. Sorry not a big fan of French style sandwich. But what changed my mind was my recent visit. Walked in l, saw a little girl having lunch and watching cartoons on her iPad ( turned out to be the daughter of the owner). Mom was checking up on her every couple of min and in between prepping food or taking orders. That just made my day. What a beautiful sight and new normal to have the kids around in a busy environment. Now let's talk about food. I got some macaroons and cream puffs. Those were the best cream puffs I ever had. Light but still so creamy. So good that I had to go again next day. Also tried the pistachio croissant which reminded me of croissants in Europe. There were few orders pasties also that looked very good. I will definitely be going more often now to try all desserts. Breakfast Review - More of a pastry and coffee place rather than a typical "breakfast place." The Ghost has been there only a couple of times, and so this is a "tentative review." If you are looking for a good, but expensive pastry on Clematis Street downtown West Palm Beach, this could be an option for you. TG rates Paneterie as a "C" an average rating. Paneterie a French pastry shop located on Palm Beach Island. It attracts a local business crowd for a pastry and a cup of coffee. I was (or may still be) affiliated with Patrick Leze (see my Palm Beach Review), and the pastries may be made in a central location. It located on Clematis Street on the corner of South Narcissus Ave (near Flagler Park and South Flagler Drive). It is a small shop and easy to miss. There usually is no wait at the counter, and there is no table service (it is a TINY place). The menu is limited to mostly pastries and a couple of breakfast sandwiches. There is some outdoor seating in front. It is a quiet place. The place is clean but small. The Ghost tied the egg, cheese, and bacon on a croissant. Hot breakfasts are very limited. The croissant was very fresh and flaky (one of the best croissants TG has had in a long while - Like Patrick Leze's café on Palm Beach Island). The restaurant is mainly a pastry and chocolate shop (but only a limited selection of chocolates). TG did not have the desserts, but they looked incredible. The food is a bit "pricey," for West Palm Beach. Service was adequate (what you expect for counter service). The "facilities" in the restaurant are a bit rough, but not bad. Paneterie also offers a light lunch (please note this is NOT a review for lunch - which will be included in a separate future review). The coffee is good, and refills are free. Clematis street area is mostly restaurants (and bars). The Paneterie is on the West Palm Beach trolley line (which is free and goes around the downtown area). There is a lovely walk along the intercoastal (on the east side of Flagler Drive). There are places to take boat tours nearby. City Place the main downtown shopping is not too far away and also on the trolley route. You are a short Uber ride from Palm Beach and the high-end shopping and the main beach. Bottom-line - Paneterie is more of a pastry & coffee shop, and not a place for a regular "sit down breakfast," but if you are in the Clematis area in the morning this could be a good quick breakfast option. Seated at the entrance to West Palm Beach's famed Clematis street, this place is a perfect stop to enjoy amazing French cafe fare while sipping cappuccino and people watching. The fountain and glimpses of the Innercoastal water way make this as enjoyable as anyplace I have been in France. I thought the $9 quiche was just a little pricey until the first bite of creamy artisan chef magic. Others can experiment beyond throwing scrambled eggs in a frozen pie shell, but you cannot get this taste anywhere I have found this side of the pond. Judging only by two breakfast/brunch pieces and their organic tea + San Pellegrino sodas, I'd say it's a great place! The croissant was light and fluffy, as it should be and croque monsieur was tasty as well. Music and atmosphere is matching with the looks and the server's positive and kind attitude. A bite into the bread, or one of the salads entombed in plastic that has lettuce that hasn't been washed and picked clean leaves a few nasty bits. The strips in the chicken are so dry they could join the Foreign Legion and survive without moisture in the desert for a dozen years. The coffee is good but the pastries, while pretty, are heavyish and just don't pop. The staff ranges from pleasant to surly. Perhaps that's the French part. Sometimes a word captures a place.
