    PKG combo

Super good and a ton of food. Waitress was super cool and food came out fast. Restaurant was nice and homey, not too crowded and very family friendly. I ordered the PKG combo and the hummus appetizer. I left super stuffed and satisfied. The koobideh kabob was amazing and the chicken was also super tender. I got the hot sauce to dip it with the tzatziki. Just perfect with the basmati rice and pita. Gotta go back again soon.

Chicken Kebab and Beef Koobideh combo. Mediterranean salad sub Lime Vinaigrette. Good!

We gave it another chance. The chicken kebab is good again. Beef Koobideh is still average but fine. As usual I got the Mediterranean salad, sub Lime Vinaigrette, and rice to go with entree. Corkage seems to be free again!

Panini kabob grill is always good. The #1 spot for both my current and last jobs to order food for everybody when we have celebrations. I got to go and sit down in person for the first time and try a panini and salad meal instead of the kabab plate that I usually get (which is always bussin btw). But the chicken parm panani was super good as well, loved that they have the marinera sauce to dip the sandwhich in as well. And I love the Mediterranean salad, both really hit the spot and made me feel nourished and content for my lunch meal. This is one of those places you could probably close your eyes and point to anything on the menu and you'll be happy eating whatever you get because everything is good!

Panini Kabob Grill in Corona Del Mar has officially won me back, and it is all thanks to Jesus. I was genuinely annoyed when they switched from romaine to mixed greens and had already decided I was "done" with the salad. Jesus gently convinced me to give it another try and I am so glad I listened. The salad is actually delicious now, super fresh, with crunchy cucumbers and juicy tomatoes, and the chicken on top is always perfectly cooked. I ask for it well done because I like a little extra smoky char and they nail it every time. My mom, who is easily the pickiest restaurant eater I know, inhaled the lamb like there was no tomorrow and would not stop talking about how good it was. The food here has been consistently fantastic over time, which keeps us coming back. The vibe is more of a casual lunch spot than a long, lingering dinner place, but that is part of the charm. It is easy, relaxed, and you know you are going to eat well. What really makes this location special is the service. Jesus treats this place like it is his own restaurant. He remembers faces, genuinely cares if you enjoy your meal, and is the reason I was willing to give that salad a second chance. The restaurant is always clean, they have a steady flow of customers, and you can tell that high volume keeps everything fresh. Between the quality of the food and the way Jesus takes care of his guests, this Panini Kabob Grill has become a true go-to for us.

sandwich & salad, and we also had the hummus appetizer with pita bread.

April 14, 2025 had a great lunch with hummus trio, always fresh and delicious Fettuccine with artichoke hearts and pesto, delicious. Greek salad. And a chicken kabob plate. All were wonderful. This original location is small but has the most unique atmosphere and we love it so much. We had Lavazza coffee too.

One of our favorite spots, breakfast/brunch, lunch & dinner, eat in or take out. Great value, large portions, always fresh and delicious. Staff or super friendly and efficient too. Definitely strongly recommend!!

I finally made it to the original Panini Kabob Grill in Corona Del Mar, and wow, what a treat! I had no idea this was where it all started, but I've been hooked on their fabulous Mediterranean-style food since the Beverly Hills location days. Over the years, I've eaten at PKG spots in DTLA, Glendale, Brea, Irvine, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Long Beach--and now, the OG! Hands down, they're as good as it gets for a restaurant franchise. In my opinion, PKG is the most consistent franchise I've ever encountered. I used to feel that way about Cheesecake Factory years ago, but now I'm at a PKG location at least four times a month--and it's easy to see why. Finding quality, authentic, fresh, delicious, and healthy food at their price point is a unicorn in today's world. I've racked my brain, but honestly, no one matches PKG's consistency across the board. Maybe it's their playbook--flawless food paired with incredible people. From my early days in Beverly Hills to this latest visit, every staff member I've met has been kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making your meal perfect. The food always arrives hot, fresh, and ready to impress. It's like a well-oiled machine, but with way more soul. On this visit, we ordered three standout dishes: the Caprese, Flat Iron Steak, and Koobideh Beef Plate. Each one was a reminder of why I'm a PKG lifer. The Caprese was a vibrant ode to simplicity--juicy, sun-ripened tomatoes layered with creamy mozzarella and fragrant basil, finished with a balsamic glaze that tied it all together. Every bite was a burst of freshness, like summer on a plate. The Flat Iron Steak was a carnivore's dream. Tender, perfectly seasoned, and grilled to juicy perfection, it practically melted in my mouth. The char added a smoky depth that made each slice irresistible. And the Koobideh Beef Plate? Pure comfort. The beef was succulent and flavorful, with that signature PKG spice blend that's savory without overwhelming. Paired with fluffy basmati rice, grilled veggies, and Mediterranean Salad. it's a plate that hits all the right notes--hearty, comforting, and oh-so-satisfying. Over the years, I've also loved their Chicken Kabob (always tender and smoky), Fresh Atlantic Salmon Kabob (light, flaky, and perfectly grilled), Wild Caught Shrimp Kabob (plump and bursting with flavor), and their Lentil Soup--rich, earthy, and soul-warming. For dessert, the Tiramisu and Bread Pudding are sweet, indulgent endings that never disappoint. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Service at Corona Del Mar was, as always, top-notch. Martin and Ronolfo (or Ronald--hope I got that right!) took care of us like family. I asked Ronolfo how long the location has been around, and he said over 20 years--then dropped that he's been working there for 20 years himself! That kind of loyalty is incredible and speaks volumes about PKG's commitment to its team and its customers. It's not just a job for these folks; it's a passion, and it shows. I've always wondered why more restaurants don't follow PKG's lead. The food is stellar, the service is warm, and the value is unbeatable. It's tough to replicate that magic, but PKG has it mastered. They're already one of my all-time favorite restaurants, and I can see them growing even more in the years ahead--I'll be cheering them on every step of the way. If you haven't been, start with the original in Corona Del Mar. It's where the magic began, and it's still shining bright. Can't wait for my next visit!

The food here was so good and so filling they dont skimp on portions so you really need to be hungry. Me and my wife needed a to go box. The chicken kabobs are incredibly delicious and the service is great. It's not to noisy inside and it's very comfortable atmosphere.

We ordered the beef shawarma plate (originally meant to get the wrap, but were charged for the plate instead). At $23, the value just wasn't really there. The portion felt a bit underwhelming, especially since a large part of the plate ends up being rice and hummus rather than a strong focus on the meat itself. The biggest downside for me was the meat quality, which didn't stand out and honestly felt like it could be improved. On top of that, the fact that sauces are charged separately adds to the feeling that everything is nickel-and-dimed a bit. I've heard this place used to have a stronger reputation when it first opened, but based on this visit, it didn't quite live up to that. It wasn't terrible, but it also didn't give me much reason to come back. Overall: decent idea, but needs work on portion size, pricing, and meat quality to really compete in the area.

Super kind, apologetic and kept us updated throughout the night. He understood that we were not having the best experience, and was trying his best to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. We had a baby with us so we asked that we be seated away from any hookah, and they really honored that request and made sure nobody near us was smoking. The food was decent, well seasoned and tasty, but nothing mindblowing. Slow to arrive but it seemed like this evening in particular was just a new kind of busy for the restaurant. In any case, I think if you've got time to sit and chat and wait for food and service, you won't feel it as much, but we had a baby, and a group of hungry adults who felt every minute of the waiting. I'd probably come back on a weeknight and try it out again; hoping that we don't get forgotten about by our first waitress.

Ambiance (5/5): Although we didn't sit inside, it was super cute, with classy boho vibes. The restroom was clean and well-decorated (although, not gonna lie, I don't know how I felt about the big mirror facing the toilet). The outside patio area was airy, and although right by the street, I didn't find it unpleasant. Service (3/5): It was just so-so. They sat us down quickly, gave us our menus and checked on us maybe twice. It wasn't super busy, but we had to wait to ask for things like extra plates and water for our dog. Food Overall (5/5): Food was delicious. We got the beef shawarma lunch special and got fries for the side (extra charge) and also the chicken shawarma lunch special with the hummus side. Beef Shawarma (4/5): It had a nice toasty flavor, perhaps from the spices, and the pickled veggies really complemented it. My only complaint was that I wish it had a bit more of the white sauce (maybe adding more hummus would have helped). It was also strangely a bit watery, maybe from the veggies. Overall, it was still a yummy wrap. Chicken Shawarma (5/5): The chicken shawarma tasted more balanced to me overall. I don't recall the meat being dry, although I did also slather it with a bit of hummus. I thoroughly enjoyed this wrap. Fries side (5/5): Their fries are made in house and it tastes so fresh. It was crispy on the outside yet still gooey and moist on the inside. I'm not sure if they make their own ketchup too, as it looked clumpier and tasted really fresh too. The kids gobbled this up. Hummus and pita (5/5): It came with a generous amount of both hummus and pita. The hummus was well flavored and blended, and it really complemented everything on the table. The pocket pita bread was not what I had in mind (I'm used to thicker ones), but the kids really loved it overall. Ice cream (4.5/5): We ordered two scoops from the dessert menu. They were both really thick, creamy and almost chewy like liquidized mochi. It was a very interesting texture but nonetheless a nice tasty treat on a hot day. I much preferred the vanilla bean, as the pistachio tasted and looked rather artificial (and I'm a pistachio ice cream lover). This place had so many to-go orders during the afternoon we were there. I can see why. Food is super fresh and tasty. I think we will be back the next time we are visiting.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most disappointing Persian meals I've had. The first thing that stood out to me was that when we walked in, I found it interesting that I didn't see a single Persian customer dining there. After trying the food, I understood why. The prices are outrageous. Charging $23 for a single koobideh kabob that is half of the size of other restaurants is hard to justify(also with no rice no tomato), especially considering the quality. The koobideh had a strange smell that honestly reminded us of the frozen koobideh kabobs we bought from Costco and those actually tasted better. Our waiter told us, "If you're Persian, don't think Leila like authentic Persian food. This place is more Americanized." We've eaten Persian food all over the U.S., and we've never had this experience. This isn't "Americanized" Persian food it simply wasn't good and lacked the flavor and the smell or quality that Persian cuisine is known for. And let's talk about the tahdig. Tahdig is famous for being the most delicious, crispy rice. At this restaurant, it seemed to mean dry rice instead. It was nothing like the golden, crunchy tahdig Persian cuisine is known for. The only positive thing I can say is that the restaurant is beautiful. The décor and ambiance are lovely. Unfortunately, the food didn't come close to matching the setting. We left disappointed, especially considering the prices. If you want to experience how incredible Persian food really is, please try another Persian restaurant not this one.
