What a great place to enjoy dinner! Music from @samrupemusic music was fantastic. We had shrimp skewers, paradise burger Hawaiian pizza and coconut shrimp. All was really good. I really enjoyed the shrimp skewers and the Hawaiian pizza was really good just know that it has cinnamon so depending on your taste! The waitress was excellent and very attentive. Actually had a cheese bread appetizer which was delicious. Drinks were really good. Rum bucket, local brew blood orange wheat, peach ring margarita and piña colada mocktail! I was extremely surprised at this place. When our friends too us out on their boat and told us about this place, we were down to try it. I wasn't expecting much and then I was completely blown away. We've been here a few times, and it's always good. Highly recommend the sweet potato fries with marshmallow fluff. But, today the highlight was our server Zoey. She was the best! I'm old (late 50's) and have not had this much fun since my late 20's (before marriage and kids)...pulling up to a dock, on a luxury pontoon (aside many other docks, with many types of water vehicles), when a waitress came out to see if we wanted to order- that alone would've been soo much fun, and I could see a GREAT APPLICATION for this, i.e, hungry/thirsty but not wanting to he seen many outside ur group..., found an already busy table with friends ( who came from everywhere - land [cars and walking], water [everything from jet skiis to big boats] bikes [self_propelled and motor], camping and, an OUTSIDE TABLE with food, drinks, conversation, pictures and..LIVE MUSIC (also outside)! I know all that is difficult to replicate, but, I can't wait to go back - and feel young again...!!! OMGOSH...just found out they have Christy's pizza - my FAV!!! Can't with to go back. This is such a classic place in Buckeye Lake-- I remember coming here with my mom when I was super young. It's right on the water and serves 100% Buckeye Lake culture. There is a large outdoor patio area with a stage-- they often have music. The inside is smaller than the outside, but it's exactly what you'd expect. There is a decent amount of parking-- I've never had an issue. I love the giant sun chair outside the front door-- pics later. For food, they have an array of classic bar food and it's all pretty decent. They also have a few 'elevated' menu items like the caprese skewers. The main event at Papa Boo's is the slushies! I typically go for the Miami Vice, a mix of daiquiri and piña colada. They sell them by the glass or by the pitcher. My only cautionary word is to call ahead if it's the off-season (September-April), because some days they aren't open even if the hours say they are. read more

Friendly vibe with docks so you can pick up food or stop and get off your boat for a bite. Service is casual and you'll get drinks and food comes out as it's ready (which can be confusing and does result sometimes in some sharing of other items and boxes). The pizza came out hot and had lots of pepperoni. The burgers come at One temp- done. The fries have some batter and are good. Fusion played while we were there. Our sever was SO NICE. It was our first time here and she was knowledgeable about the menu and gave good recommendations. I had the basic burger with fries and it was fine. Nothing special. My friend had the fried chicken sandwich with pickles and ranch. It was delicious! The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the bun was the perfect match to support everything going on inside. Haven't been to Papa Boos in years, honestly it wasn't the greatest but decided to give it another try. Must say was NOT disappointed, it has clearly been renovated and the food has been updated. The food we had was great, we had no less than 3 people come to our table to ensure we had drinks, asked if we needed anything and that was in addition to our server! Went there last night had 6 of there so called boneless wings, they were terrible size of a pea hard as a rock. Not good at all, was not happy at all. Just a warning don't get them . Went to watch the live entertainment and was not disappointed. I ordered the Paradise Burger and fries. Hannah was my server and I was taken care of really well. It is an open air bar and the ambiance was excellent beings it was right in the shore of Buckeye lake. My husband and I used to go to Papa Boos in our college days when we were still dating (25 years ago!!). When our son had a track meet in nearby Heath, we decided to stop in! The weather was beautiful so it was nice to sit on the outside deck by the water and listen to the guitarist. The food was bar food, but overall pretty good! I ordered a gluten free pizza with garlic Parmesan sauce, extra provolone/mozzarella cheese, and shrimp. It was delicious and I will definitely order again. We also ordered the street corn dip, which none of us really liked, for multiple reasons. Most in our party thought it was just too bland and "needed something". I didn't care for the smoked chipotle flavor... maybe switch to tajin instead? The lemon pepper wings were delicious, and I am picky about wings. I didn't get a picture because my son devoured them so fast. They weren't very lemony, which was great for me (I'm not a lemon pepper fan). They tasted more like salt/vinegar wings. It's all fun and games at Papa Boo's. If you're in the area come by bike, boat, or car. This is the place to be at the lake. It's not classy. This is just be yourself. I like the frozen margaritas. It's great to have on a hot day on the patio. There's indoor seating but if it's nice get outside and get a tan. It also has a food menu. They get pizza from Cristy's, which is a highly regarded local place. It also has a stage for live music. The only bad thing is they're only open for the summer. If you're at Buckeye Lake you have to go to Papa Boo's. It's the most popular bar and you can just ride in. There aren't many other options around though. read more

In all honesty I wanted to hate this place. It is not really my atmosphere and I do not like greasy bar food. It feels like a party place and those days are over for me. But...we are newer in the area and wanted to try out all the restaurants. The first time we went mid day and I had my kiddos with me. When we pulled up I did not feel safe taking them in there. There were so many people outside the door and well-covid. We left and went somewhere else. I am happy to say, I let my bias get in the way. I came back a week later with my teen and realized those congregating people were waiting outside as required to be safe. (Maybe should not have been so close, but thats on the people, not the restaurant). We were seated with a great view of the water. Its picnic tables , so not fancy but that is fine for the environment. The service was great. We were in town for a race at National Trail Raceway, which was rained out, and found this place ok Yelp when searching for an afternoon snack. They were pretty busy for a rainy Saturday in May, but the service was great. Our waitress was on top of her game and our food came out quickly. We had a shrimp cocktail and pulled pork nachos. The shrimp cocktail was basic, but I mean it's a shrimp cocktail so it really should be. The cocktail sauce had a ton of horseradish, but was delish! The nachos were covered in toppings and delish! Being that it's on the lake and accessible by water or land, I am sure this place is ridiculously crowded when the weather is nice, so keep that in mind. If you have ever had a Christys Pizza you know you are eating one of the best pizza in central Ohio, and Papa Boos has Christys pizza, yummm, yummm!! The wife and I needed a date night somewhere outdoors with our newborn and Papa Boo's came through. Situated on the north side of buckeye lake, the restaurant offers an awesome lakeside setup with mostly outdoor seating. The menu had so many tasty looking traditional options and I chose to try a pizza while my wife ordered a burger. I kicked back and enjoyed a few beers by the lake while we wait about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The wife said her burger was lackluster, but we really enjoyed the pizza. We topped it off with the cookie dessert, which was warm gooey goodness we each would say is 10/10. The bill seemed rather pricey, but I'm fine with paying a premium for the setup on the lake. I will most certainly be back for a few more beers with that view and to try more off the delicious looking menu! Also, the establishment is doing a great job for anyone concerned with social distancing - tables are adequately spaced and all the staff wore masks. They have mobile card readers so that you're able to swipe it yourself and avoid them having to take it! read more
