We paid $27 for a medium two-topping pizza, and unfortunately, it just wasn't worth it. The pizza was extremely thin and seemed to be mostly crust, with very little substance. Neither of us was full afterward, so we actually had to stop and grab burritos on the road. The restaurant was also empty when we visited and could have been cleaner. What's especially disappointing is that this used to be a place we really enjoyed. Looking at some of the more recent reviews, it seems like we're not the only ones noticing the decline in quality. It's a shame because Blind Onion used to make a really good pie. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we won't be coming back. read more

Anchovy pizza is my jam and the Sparks location often had a special specifically for it and this location has it listed as a topping but I was told "they don't carry anchovies and never have". The caesar salad was very small and basic, for $10 I was shocked. When our wings came out, to say the least I was disappointed. They don't seem to be made in-house, and not one of them was crispy or delicious. They look and taste exactly like Costco frozen wings, but you're paying $15 for 10 of them... The ranch that was served did not taste good either. Last was the pizza. The Margherita pizza was doughy, there was barely any basil, the cheese was sliding off the pizza, I kept having to reconstruct it. Margherita is my favorite type of pizza, but blind onion just did not do it right. It just tasted like cheese pizza. What could be better? Sides really need improving at Blind Onion.. A little more effort and elevation would make the prices make sense. We used to order takeout from this place most weeks. I'm sorry I didn't read Lily's recent review sooner. I hate giving negative reviews. It makes me sad but I respect others hard earned money and Reno has better options if the restaurant doesn't go back to their standards. We just returned from dinner where we wanted wings and pizza so in since we've had a great experience in past about 4 months ago. Thought we try. I'm sad to say it was marginal. First the salads are pre made and came out with different ingredients and the lettuce was decaying. The clerk was very understanding and refunded our money. I will say that the clerk was nice enough I also like that they pour a nice tall revision on draft. The wings were good and crispy but no sauce and nothing extraordinary. The pizza was good but expensive compared to the great pizza that Reno has. The crust is still yummy and tastes great in honey. The bathrooms were not as clean and the place is looking worn. I'm not sure what has happened but over the last 4 months something changed. I knew as soon as I opened the box and saw the weird dried cracky playdough looking crust, it was not going to be good. I was wrong. It was possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. Dry doesn't even cover it--crust, sauce, melted cheese and toppings too--it's like it was freeze-dried and then reheated. I'm laying in bed thinking about the pizza and how disappointed I am that I blew my Friday night pizza (and carb) budget on this garbage but devastated that I can't look forward to a nice cold savory piece of leftover pizza to enjoy with my morning coffee. I enjoyed the saltiness of the Canadian Bacon paired with sweet bites of pineapple and topped with parmesan cheese and peppers. If there was any complaint, I wished my red onions were cooked a tad bit more but nothing to squawk about really. On the other hand, there was plenty of pineapple and that was nice. Blind onion is our favorite pizza place. My husband's favorite pizza is always the same, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms (that's his vegetable), extra cheese, and on my half we add jalapeños. They always get right and their timing is on point. They'll ask if you want Parmesan cheese and also honey, which is pretty good on pizza, at no extra charge. We usually get takeout as their place is small and not very enticing. It's to bad, because it's nice to eat your pizza there so you get it right out of the oven hot. read more

I really wanted to love this place! We had friends recommend it, so we went to celebrate an anniversary. The place wasn't very clean - all the tables needed to be wiped down. I did the best I could with the paper towels they have on the tables. We ordered half Hawaiian, and half Chicken Parmesan. We did love the crust, it's really good. But the chicken Parmesan had hardly any sauce, so it was really dry, and the chicken was way over cooked. They serve pizza with ranch and also with honey. But even with the ranch it was dry. So I did an online delivery order which I have done on many occasions. Blind Onion, being one of my favorite pizza spots in town however, today was kind of a miss. I ordered the General's and it arrived quickly. My only complaint is the extra thick slices of onion, bell pepper, and the huge chunks of sausage. Blind Onion is a staple go to for us for many reasons but the biggest being consistency. We rarely dine in but on this specific occasion we did. Walking in, we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were then told they were out of the beer and so we chose another in which we were told that the tap was having issues and it would be 15-20 minutes to pour. 3rd times a charm so we ordered a different one and it was a success. We sat down and were brought a pitcher with two different sized glasses and were told sorry that they were out of clean glasses. Not knocking it, but after 2 beers being out, the different sized glasses were a cherry on top of getting beer. Lesson learned! After a short wait, the pizza and wings (not pictured) were brought and WOW! So so delicious. Food on its own is definitely 5/5 and again, consistent! The Blind Onion Pizza is a local pizzeria chain in Reno that is apparently a hot spot for UNR students looking for a cheap, fluffy baked pizza known for their crust. I can see why too after stopping by for dinner after the impossible Food Truck Friday fiasco. Crust + honey = life. Prior to arriving, I called to ask if they had any vegan friendly options. The gentleman behind the call was super friendly and explained so much in detail. There are two vegetarian friendly pizzas but unfortunately no cheese substitutes, which is okay! I ordered a medium 12" Garden of Eatin' ($20), which is topped with Fred's Red Sauce, spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, red onions, garlic & fresh Roma tomatoes. All wholesome and vegan friendly without the mozzarella. The crust really was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed dipping it into the honey they provide. Their 'personal pan' size pizza on the wall is a lot smaller than what will actually be your pizza. While most of us ordered a medium sized pizzas thinking the personal was too small, one of us was logical and got the personal size for... you know, themselves. SO much bigger than the display and I was full from eating half my medium. Overall I had a really great experience here for a last minute dinner effort. Great service, portions, and away from the crowds fortunately when we were dining in. Only real gripe is that they only offer bottled water but they seemed okay with us bringing our own reusable water bottles. Note: I do follow a plant based lifestyle for health and am okay with consuming honey (they contain no cholesterol lol). I am a big fan of the pizza here, but rarely come due to the prices. I was in need of lunch for my daughter and I as we were at the laundromat up the way, so we came down here. The staff are friendly and they keep the restaurant clean. There is plenty of seating. It wasn't busy and we were able to order right away. I did notice they removed their soda machine and you could only purchase bottles which is a bit unfortunate. I ordered a small half cheese/half pepperoni, some breadsticks, and a bottle of sprite.
