    Charred Fajitas

My fajitas were charred, spoke to the Manager and he refused to return the meal. Won't be returning. Didn't get a refund. My stomach became upset from it!

I am Mexican and I can say this is one of the better Mexican food places I have had. They had a salsa bar, the green salsa was my favorite. The chile verde was flavorful and moist. Highly recommend this place!

    Tortilla soup

I normally go to the Papas and Beer in Spartanburg and assumed this would be the same. I was very wrong. I ordered the tortilla soup. I expected a normal size bowl with chopped veggies, and that classic flavor. What I got was a bowl of soup made for a giant. The bowl was the width of a dinner plate with veggies so large I had to cut pick them up with a fork and cut them because they wouldn't fit in my mouth. The flavor was an awful smokey broth with no Mexican flavor. The melted cheese stuck the the spoon so I couldn't actually eat it. It was all wrong. We also tried the queso which tasted like thick milk. No flavor. Even my child didn't like it. The service was slow. I ordered the soup hoping I would be in and out. But the whole process was over an hour and I barely touched it cause it was so bad. The ambience is festive, with mariachi music in the background and pretty Mexican tiles. Perhaps other dishes taste better. If I returned, I would not go if I were on a time crunch, and would definitely order something that couldn't be screwed up.

    California burrito

Positive: they were open on a Sunday. Negatives: 1. They were either understaffed, or their service is just bad all the time. 2. They have a salsa bar which is cool, and the salsa is pretty good, but the cups they give you only hold about a tablespoon of salsa. How am I supposed to dip a chip in there? And the chips are mediocre at best. I got the California burrito with steak, again there were positives and negatives. Positive: ton of meat Negative: it wasn't good meat. And it smelled burnt. To top it off, it was an NFL Sunday and they seem to only get about 3 channels, and nothing with any sports. Asked the bartender, and she said she doesn't know anything about the TV.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. This is a nice place right off the interstate. The chips came with a bean dip and was delicious and different. We'll definitely return

Great looking on the inside for a little bar and grill type vibe. They have a buffet... which I'm unfamiliar with in Mexican restaurants in our area. So this was really cool. The menu... guys, when I tell you they have a menu, they have a big Ass Menu! It's huge! Their pics in the menu actually look exactly like the food they serve you. We've ate there twice in the last week, both times we had wonderful service by a fella. He is super pleasant and on IT! He got our orders right both times. The first visit was just my husband and I and he orders more authentic Mexican food. The second visit was us and our 3 boys. Wow, were they impressed! The salsa bar is a big fave for us, too! Not to mention the BEST D. Coke in the world. Idk what it is about their soda, but it's the best I've had. I had tostones the second visit topped with shredded chicken and guacamole! Probably the best guac I've had. These are a spin on tostones I've never seen. We thoroughly enjoyed them. This was an appetizer. I ate one as a meal, that's how big this serving is (see pics)! My husband had the birria quesadilla. He raved over it and is a big birria fan!!! Highly recommend this restaurant. You will be coming back for more, like we did! Pros: great service, great atmosphere (a million TVs playing all the games, beautiful setting- renovated, great food, great soda, they have really big portions, great prices. There aren't really any cons. We were satisfied in every aspect with our visits.

Our server was clueless when my almost brother-in-law asked what kind of Mexican beer they had. She did not know how to pronounce lager (the light colored beer). Wtf?? Once she took our order, someone else came by like 30 mins later to retake it. When we left around 8:00 on a Friday night we were the ONLY customers left and the crew stared playing Jamaican Rasta music. They were all sitting near the door wrapping silverware despite multiple tables, and the bar, being littered with dirty dishes. Doubting I'll be back, but the food, once it arrived, was tasty.
