Ordered 3 pies on a Friday night - XL Cheese, XL Pepperoni, and an XL Al Pacino. The pizza was great. The crust is on the thinner side. They did warn me that the parking lot was super busy and to bring a runner for the pizza pick up which was much appreciated because the parking lot was indeed a zoo. Plates, napkins, and Red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese were included and the total for the 3 pies was around $90. So, a little pricey for the convenience of grabbing pizza while on the beach. One of our first nights in Pensacola Beach, we had a long day and wanted something simple. We ordered two of their calzones, order of breadsticks, and an order of Spaghetti and Meatballs (Roughly $50.00). Over the phone they sounded BUSY and that was confirmed once we arrived to pick up our order. Staff was extremely friendly and our food had just gotten boxed up when we got there so their wait time estimates were spot on. The food.... Our Calzones were fine. They had chopped spinach (we assumed they'd be whole leaf) and it overwhelmed the calzone (IMO). Spinach flavor was all we could really taste. Their marinara was good, definitely helped with the strong spinach flavor. The breadsticks were not good, seemily cooked dough with granular garlic powder dumped on them. No one cared for these, there marinara couldn't even help save those things. The spaghetti and meatballs were a hit with the kids (minus the chunky tomatoes). Our girls finished this with compliments to the chef. I would like to try their pizza to see how it is but we were not impressed enough with what we ordered to try their food again. Florida just struggles with good pizza from our experience, we are very spoiled living in such a strong pizza area. Staying on Pensacola Beach for a vacation, I was craving pizza and had heard good things about this spot. I saw they had Sicilian style pizza on the menu so I called to order one for takeout but was disappointed to hear they were unavailable that day. I decided to take the short drive over to get a few slices to go to see if this pizza I lived up to the hype. It was a Friday night around 6 PM and only two tables were taken up in this quaint little pizza joint. I ordered two slices to go, and the cashier repeated back to me my order and reiterated that I would like them in a box. I told her yes, and when I paid in cash, she looked confused and struggled to come up with the correct change, which was not actually correct, but I wasn't going to hassle her over a few cents. I waited for my pizza for over 10 minutes and when I finally made eye contact with the woman at the register again, she seemed to realize that my pizza had been sitting behind the counter and brought them to the table on two paper plates. I looked confused and asked her if I could get them in a box like I had ordered, and she rolled her eyes and took them behind the counter, putting them in a box but using her hands, which had been handling money and other people's beverage glasses, in the process. She was dismissive and came off pretty rude in general. Having worked in the service industry many years, I can understand if you're busy or you're having an off night, but this lady just seemed to have a stick where the sun doesn't shine and was rude for no good reason. I even tipped before all this happened and the pizza was OK, but I don't think I would go back after this customer experience. There are definitely other places to get mediocre pizza on Pensacola Beach and the FOH isn't so rude! read more

I don't know how this place has such a low rating. This place is a Pensacola Beach institution that I've been eating at since high school. Yea, it's never gonna win a Michelin Star, but it's still darn good pizza. So there's a boardwalk full of restaurants and shops and bars along the edge of the beach on the bay side of things at Pensacola Beach. Businesses come, businesses go, but this place remains. It's at the very end, right next to an ice cream shop, so it's the first or the last thing people see when strolling the whole boardwalk. A statue of Papa himself greets you right before you walk in the door, and when you get inside, it's a cozy little shop with Pensacola decor and murals all over everywhere. Very quaint. You walk up to the counter and place your order. I brought my niece once day when I was visiting home. We went to Fort Pickens, the beach, and then came here for some lunch. She got a couple of slices of cheese, because she's boring, and I got a couple of slices of Peppino Schano (Broccoli, spinach, green peppers, onions, mushrooms). The crust is thin, and the bottom of it is borderline burnt, which makes it so crispy. Crispy, yet strong enough to not bend under the weight of the toppings. The amount of toppings is pretty nice. You get a good assortment of each of the veggies. Not too much, not too little. Overall, this is the pizza you need and deserve in the middle of a hot, hot, hot beach day at the best beach in the state. Get a Mexican Coke to go with your meal, and you'll want to give this place five stars as well. read more

There is not a lot of room in this pizza place but it was a cute old school restaurant. We ordered the extra large pepperoni pizza which was really good. We ordered it to go so it was not as fresh as I would have liked when we got it back to the room to eat. The bread sticks were okay. Literally bread sticks and garlic. I wish it were better. This spot is located on the Pensacola Beach boardwalk which is an awesome location! They sell pizza by the slice but it is sadly mediocre at best. I ordered a slice of sausage pizza and it was similar to something I would have eaten in a middle school cafeteria. Low quality ingredients, high cost. We came once before and it was better. The ambiance isn't great either, despite being right on the boardwalk you can't see out the back windows. Service is counter-only, and was fine. Very expensive for a greasy pizza when Rotolo's is right in Gulf Breeze and has (at minimum) better prices, marinara, and ingredients. We got a supreme (called a Celebrity pizza.) The crust was okay but I don't think we'll come back. read more

My first time visiting here and most likely the last. I very much was craving pizza! Unfortunately, crust is extremely thin and it was very close to being burnt. Usually if that happens, I just pull the top of the pizza off and eat the Canadian Bacon and Pineapple along with the "on top" crust. My pizza experience at Papa's was just okay. I had it delivered through the Waitr app, so I don't really have much to say about the customer service at Papa's except that the young woman who answered the phone was speaking really quickly. I had to ask her to repeat what she said. This isn't really a criticism, just a comment. The pizza itself is what was just okay. I ordered something really basic: a NY style cheese pizza. The taste was fine, but the crust was the issue for me. It was way too hard. I appreciated the thinness of the crust, but it was difficult to bite hot and almost impossible to bite once it'd cooled down (which doesn't take long for a delivered pizza). As a tourist to the area, I'd probably try Papa's again, but not for delivery. Maybe eating the pizza right out of the oven makes a difference. read more

This is some of the best pizza I've had in Pensacola. Crust was the best part of the pizza if you are looking for a New York style. Sauce was also not too heavy and was good balance for the thin crust. They sell slices here! My slice was definitely on the small side for $5 so I will not purchase by the slice again but would consider a whole pizza. My only complaint was the topping quality (pepperonis).
