I have ordered from Papa's several times and I'm surprised at all the bad reviews on here. I will say that I always go to pick up my pizza though, so I don't have delivery problems, I guess. The pizza is really good! I have a picky family and everyone in my house likes their pizza. It's always done by the time I get there and it's hot and fresh. I've also ordered salad from here and been happy with it, it was nice and fresh and the salad dressing was good too. One of these days we'll order wings and I'll update my review. This place changed owners so I decided to try. They offered a special, 2 slices & a medium drink for $5 bucks. The cheese was stretchy chewy and the crust had a nice crisp crunch to it. Received a coupon flyer in the mail and felt $9.99 for a large pie - what the heck - why not... Well let me say...after 20 years, we FINALLY found pizza close enough to Bronx pizza!!! Papa's is just OK. If there is a special, fine, but I wouldn't pay full price for this. My friends had us over and ordered a special which included a large pepperoni pie, garlic knots, and buffalo wings. I'm from Buffalo so the wings didn't do it for me but did actually get somewhat close. They were crispy and cooked well but much too small and didn't pack any heat at all. I didn't hate them though. The pizza was super greasy. Like, dripping. The cheese itself was good but the pizza was undercooked and greasy so it was hard to eat. You practically had to use a fork and knife. Because of that, I was not a fan. The pizza I would give 2 stars, the wings 4 so that's how I got to 3. Can't comment on delivery since we picked it up, nor the garlic knots since I didn't have them. We've ordered from Papa's many times in the past, and they are usually very good. This time, we ordered a pie, a sandwich, and a calzone. We were told it would be delivered in 30-35 minutes. Our food did not come until an hour and a half later and instead of a calzone, we got a box with two slices in it. We called to make them aware of the mistake and they said they would send the correct item. Forty minutes later, we called again because we still didn't have our food, and they said the driver was out with our food. It is now over an hour since we called for our calzone and we still do not have it. The pizza that we did get was only slightly warm and nothing tasted the way it usually does. Update: It has now been over 3 hours since we ordered and an hour and 45 minutes since the driver supposedly came back out to deliver our calzone. So we called again and they gave us a credit for our next order. However, there will not be a next order for a very long time. read more

I really wanted to like the food here but each time I've ordered I was disappointed. The pizza is just terrible. French fries are either soggy or over cooked. Pasta undercooked and not seasoned. I should have read the reviews before ordering. Big mistake! We are 1st time customers. We ordered : Nachos Grande not meat instead guacamole -ice cold thick gooppie fake cheese. Guacamole was frozen and the size of 2 ketchup packets. Huge chunks of tomatoes lettuce and gross old jalapeño slices. I could barely eat it and threw most of it in the garbage. Garlic Knots . - very dry Buffalo Calamari - she said spicy and I said yes buffalo sauce. OK no problem. There are plenty of other places to order food from around here. Don't waste your money or time on this place. Today I ordered two heroes and two salads, totaling $45 with a kind tip. The food was delivered over an hour after I called in. The driver did call to say his gps had sent him in the wrong direction. I got an excuse but no apology. It was as if delivering my food was an inconvenience to the delivery driver. Not only did the food come late, one of the sandwiches was made wrong. This is the second time I've ordered from here. Pizza is good but customer service is HORRIBLE! This place ripped me off twice. Two times after speaking with the owner to apply a coupon that was never applied. First time, I disregarded the inconvenience and spoke with their Manager that you ensure me the coupon would be honored for the next order. The next order came and the coupon wasn't honored. No big deal, it was only $5 off. Third time my pizza was delivered with half its toppings on the side of the box. Called to speak to the owner, Papa and they attempted to deliver the pizza and insisted on ringing the bottom apt bell even though their computer system receipt shows the 2nd floor. Called to ask where my pizza was and I was told that they were too busy to attend to my complaint. Perhaps if they made a point to contact their customer, they would have realized that something wasn't quite right but instead they chose to wait for me to contact them. Two and a half hours later their delivery person shows up and I am angry. Not even an apology to show good faith. Delivery charges of $1.50 go towards their tip in addition to an extra tip I gave because we share the same industry. Nice to see where there sense of urgency for their customers are. If I reacted the same way they did to me with my own guests at the restaurant I work, I would be fired! I'm cancelling my charges for this order, which is something I NEVER do! Future customers: Make sure you open your pizza boxes and check your order. Customer Service make the biggest difference. A shame I will no longer be doing business with them because of this. Co-worker told me about this place. He also said that it was owned by two brothers, one nice and one not so nice. First time there ordered a good specialty pie. Guy at the counter was friendly (must have been the nice brother). I also signed up for Papa's Rewards Program where you get points redeemable for food based on the money you spend. Just went there for second time. Ordered X-Large Cheese Pie and 16" Chicken Parm Hero. I had to ask the guy on the phone to take my phone number so I could get credited the points for the order. Went to pick up the order. The guy was a prick (must be not so nice brother). Couldn't be bothered to even utter a word to me. I asked if points had been given to me. He grunted that they had. Then a young girl working there checked. She said that the points had not been given to me but she had corrected it. I don't really give a crap about Papa's stupid Rewards Program. But why institute a customer loyalty program if you are obviously so unwilling to give the customers what you promised them. Bad way to do business. Anyway, the pizza and hero sucked. I am worked with Louis for 10 years at the original Papa's Pizza I taught him everything I know. And now when his son is there or one of the other managers you don't get what you ordered every week we try to get something from there every time I do there's a problem from doughy bread , burnt pizza and today we ordered a philly cheese steak with just onion n extra cheese, repeated it three times. And a chicken parm hero also... now the cheesesteak was with peppers n onions which was wrong and bread hard as a rock!! Same thing with chicken parm... hard as a rock. So I called back and told them there mistake. Now if Louie was there he would of did right thing made sandwich right.. and we would of been good with that .. but the Manager stated no that's the way we ordered it said he repeated it three times which he didn't!!! I never right a bad review, but upon having gone to and ordering from this place multiple times I have consistently received bad customer service and excessively long wait times for subpar food. if placing a delivery order, do not expect your food for at least an hour minimum, in warm condition at best. The food quality is ok at best, comparable to some places in the neighborhood depending on preference, but nothing that stands out and certainly not worth the unwelcoming atmosphere and long wait times.
