Online experience: I have received excellent quality items and great service from this store. I just made my third order for paper lanterns. I use them in my home, and for parties. Great prices here, too. I prefer these in my house to what I see offered at 4x the price--or much more. Graceful, quietly cool, and they shed excellent light. They are commonly used in the film industry for the quality of light on camera. Anyway, I had to write a review because some people are horrible. If you don't get what you want, contact the company. If your deadline prevents you from doing that, it's on you. And there are stars in between 1 and 5. A quality problem, that the company is willing to correct, does not merit 1 star. And if some of your hand fans are imperfect, get replacements. They're made of actual wood and between 1 and 2 bucks apiece, what do you expect. So entitled and rude and clueless about how to conduct business in a civilized way. My photos show the 20" White Fine Line Premium Even Ribbing Paper Lantern, Extra Sturdy. It is larger than it looks, and the current price is between 8 and nine bucks. If you are planning an event with a very specific theme - order early! Unfortunately, our first choice of white/off-white/ivory was entirely sold out - possibly due to the summer wedding season post-lockdown. Shipping was super fast and arrived the day after we received the tracking information. We did not know that they had a physical store in the east bay, so our package didn't need to travel far! All the parasols were individually wrapped in a paper sheath within the box and securely packed in. They are a little hard to open, and I was worried I would accidentally tear the delicate paper when I was struggling with it. I ordered these for my daughters wedding and the company was very efficient with calling to verify exactly what I wanted and the shipping address. The Paper Lantern Store had the best prices of any store online and they also had the best array of colors. I called and spoke with a representative and told her what I was looking to do with the lanterns and the affect and she gave me some hints as to how many lanterns I would need. I did order many more lanterns than I needed because I was not sure if during the process of expanding the lanterns that I might rip one of them, but these lanterns were very sturdy and I think only one torn. The colors were just as they appeared online and even better colors if possible. The gold glitter one was simply amazing. This was one of my daughter colors so she wanted an accent color so I ordered large lanterns in the glitter gold. I also ordered battery operated orbs which were placed inside each lantern so when the sunset the lanterns would be lit up. After sunset the lanterns were gorgeous. I cannot say enough good things about the Paper Lantern Store and I certainly would order again from them. When I couldn't find what I wanted at the dollar stores, Walmart, Party City, Big Lots, etc, we decided to do the online route. Paper Lantern Store had the best selection for the price! I spent $124 for 60 basic paper lanterns of various colors and sizes for our 20x30 tent. I received the package on time and in good condition, though the box was flatter than I expected. Each lantern with its metal expander and c-hook was packaged in its own cellophane wrap, and only lantern was busted (in the grand scheme of things, I didn't care). Didn't have to interact with any of their employees, so I can't comment on customer service. Very reasonable price for an extremely attractive look. Good color options, no complaints. A great source for paper lanterns, pompoms, parasols, favor boxes, and other wedding/party decoration goodies! The "store" is well hidden in a business park behind a nondescript door and minimal signage. There are no displays, but you can ask to see samples of anything you want to purchase. I was looking for some nice cylindrical lanterns but weren't able to find them at any of the local craft stores (Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Party City, etc). I ended up ordering a dozen of the 12" Beige Izumi Paper Lanterns. I selected the 2 Day shipping option and the shipment arrived on time. In the black hole that is EBAY or Google I found this gem hidden among a lot of rocks. I was assigned by my friend, lets call her "the bride", to find umbrellas for her wedding. I did a massive search on-line and then as a last resort on EBay /Google. Boy did I luck out, I'm not exactly sure how I found this place, but I did. I was surprised to find what I was looking for at a good price. Best of all, they were local. It took about two visits to their offices to get what I wanted. The bride wanted 24 multicolored umbrellas for her wedding. I talked to the owner of Asian Import Store and he said they were out of supply and I needed to come back in a few days for the new shipment of umbrellas. So for the next few days I badgered them with phone calls until I finally got word that the good were in the warehouse. I showed up just before closing and ordered my umbrellas. They pulled them out of the warehouse and the transaction went smoothly. With the exception of being called the "Parasol Lady", by the owner, I thought everything else was good. Its a great place to shop for wedding decorations. You should check out their website fist before going. Its not a store, its big warehouse. Aww I thought I'd be the first to review this place! Anyhow, I was hunting for papered goods to decorate my house for my engagement party last May. I used their offshoot website - www.paperlanterstore.com - to buy several colorful lanterns. Unfortunately, many of the the colors and sizes that I wanted weren't in stock. (Especially the "natural" colored ones.) I ended up ordering too many of the wrong size and wanted to see certain colors in person. So I drove my ass 30 minutes up the bay to check out their warehouse. My returns and exchanges went smoothly. They understood my situation and didn't give me a hard time. They also went back to bring out a variety of colors for me to look at (I don't always trust the website colors.) The girl at the front was very nice, and helped with everything I needed.
