I ordered the Hanami Champagne because this girl loves champagne! ;) for dinner we started with the edamame and shrimp with beef fried rice. Then came on the rainbow roll along with the hamachi jalapeño. Both rolls exquisite in flavor and taste. Salmon Furai is good too but I'm not a cream cheese person in my sushi so if you aren't either you could skip it. Still a great option though, just taste preference. Once we told our server he already knew about the leak and then let us seat elsewhere ... if you knew about the leak then please do not have customers sit there. The decor, the space and the ambiance, so beautiful, open, intimate and inviting. Seeing that this was my first time I wanted to try a variety from the restaurant so their Miami Spice menu was the perfect way to try a three course meal at a reasonable price. The flavors on the Rolls were absolutely phenomenal, the Salmon in Coconut Passion Sauce was amazing, the flavors were well paired and the Salmon melted in the mouth. The Miso Black Cod was just excellent, perfectly cooked/seasoned, oh so tasty. The Strawberry Mochi was delicious but my absolute favorite was the OG Green Tea Mochi. Chef kisses all around. Finally got to have a sit-down experience at PaperFish and it did not disappoint! My husband and I went on a Sunday evening and, even then, it was pretty full. First, they have everyday happy hour with food and cocktails for about $7! We started with a few cocktails, as well as the salmon nigiri, spicy tuna roll, and gyoza from the HH menu. The salmon nigiri was by far my favorite. The spicy tuna roll was decent, but nothing to rave about, and the gyoza were delicious - however, they also came with these giant crisps that were difficult to eat and added nothing to the flavor. From the normal menu, we ordered a variety of special nigiri (we loved the yellowtail and scallop, especially!), the waygu bao buns, and the crispy rice (split between tuna and salmon). We'd recommend skipping the bao buns - just a bit dry. But all the sushi was exceptional! And, we finished off with their caramel lava cake with pistachio ice cream and...yum. They also have a chocolate version - but the cake was just so decadent and appropriately gooey! Service-wise, Joslyn (Jocelyn?) was fantastic; she answered our questions, explained parts of the menu, and was generally a cheerful person to engage with! read more

Our reservation was at 10pm. We showed up on time, yet we had to wait 23 minutes to be sat. No apology from anyone working or anything. I found this to be a little upsetting & not okay. Usually this place for me is a 5 star rating, however, this last experience really didn't sit well. Usually when things like this happen, the hostess is apologetic, the manager will acknowledge the table and offer something, but again we didn't even get an apology. We stopped by for a late lunch. We didn't need a reservation for lunch and we're able to be seated quickly. The aesthetic is super nice and I loved the Japanese Cherry Blossom decor inside. They didn't have a lunch menu, so we ordered from their regular menu. We ordered the hamachi, waygu, and shrimp nigiri. The salmon and tuna hand rolls and the krab salad bao. My favorites were the shrimp and waygu nigiri and the salmon hand roll. The krab salad bao was alright, but I think I would order the waygu bao next time. The food and drinks we had were all very good and to be honest the only reason I did not give five stars was because the service was a little shaky. It wasn't so bad that I would never go again, in fact, I will def be back, but there was def room for improvement there. My major complaint was that we waited close to 30 mins to get service and when we did our server said he was sorry, that he forgot our table was his. That was a little odd. And the whole time he just seemed overwhelmed and was trying to be funny, but it kinda wasn't. That being said we still had a good time and the sushi was excellent. Everything was so good! The sushi wasn't super memorable, but loved the raw bar orders, especially the nikkei tataki (tuna) and tiradito apassionado (salmon). The dragon Moscow mule was strong, but it definitely tasted more Moscow mule than dragonfruit. The lychee martini has a stronger lychee taste than the dragon Moscow mule did with the dragonfruit. The miso black cod was DELICIOUS, and the wagyu ishiyaki stone was good but not worth the price in my opinion. You're mostly paying for the experience of cooking it yourself. Both entrees are not filling, so I would recommend the side of crispy truffle fried rice since it's more filling and the price pales in comparison to the entrees. this place is awesome as long as you like sherable restaurants. plates are tapas style, perfect to try lots of food. note that it comes out as it is ready, some dishes take a little longer. we had to order almost everything on the menu and to my taste it was really good. the highlights for me are as follows. tostones ceviche are a must, its like a tigers milk with the plantain combination made us order more. the buffalo chicken and pork belly are auper tasty grilled octopus was one of the best, really tasty and crunchy kimchee fried rice is pretty good and is bigger than expected, which can be shared between 3 to 4 people. where the place disappoint a little was on the drinks, the Moscow muke tasted water down and didnt have any ginger taste. it was mostly lime juice. service was good but not great, the restaurant was full and it coukd have been the issue. the restaurant is located inaide the brickell city center, they validate your parking for 50%. atmosphere is cool for a get together or even a date night. read more
