We eat breakfast here almost every weekend. The pancakes are awesome as is the chicken fried steak and eggs! Despite what the super judgey people from Phoenix say the place is large and they have recently added more space for large groups (not that anyone wants to eat brunch by a large group.) I've read other reviews noting service issues, but we had great service. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and there were constantly multiple people roaming around refilling coffee. After reading the reviews about how bad the service was, they must have read them and improved it, because the service was great. There were more than plenty waitresses on the floor. We were greeted with a Good Morning when we walked in. The waitress we had was very friendly & courteous. My husband ordered eggs over easy, bacon, hashbrowns, toast, & pancake. I ordered the same but eggs were scrambled, without the pancake. My husband specifically requested that the whites of his eggs be done (not runny), and yolks runny. They came out perfect. Large pieces of thick bacon with good flavor. My husband thought the hashbrowns were not done enough (too mushy), but I thought they were just right. Everyone has different tastes and preferences. The restaurant had a small town cafe atmosphere. I would recommend and definitely go back. read more

I was out early early cause of my work and need to replenish my energies when I seen this place was open. Please read to the end. My expectation was 100+percent greasy spoon and watered down coffee wash, let me tell this in honesty, it was my first visit and I was disappointed they proved me wrong. The people there welcomed you walking in and the food and value, all I can say is WOW! Just like the ole small community cafes and restaurants of yesteryears, even other guests were friendly. Just when I needed a cup of joe, it was hot, flavorful real coffee tasting. Food was fresh, great, plenty of and NOT microwaved. When I was finished my plate was not greasy. Went here on Wednesday with MIL. Took forever for them to take our drinks, then forever for food order. MIL had to get high chair for her granddaughter...Weak coffee though free refills makes it ok...tiny cups though. I had a ham and cheese omelet and grits. It literally looked worse that the food i was served in the hospital while giving birth. Dry omelet, how did they do that? skimpy on the cheese and ham. They say its a three egg omelet, but i doubt it or they're really tiny eggs. MIL had sausage gravy and biscuits, obvious that they just chopped up some sausage and threw it into her gravy at the last minute *some of the sausage didn't even have gravy on it*. There is no butter at the table, they butter your toast for you. No butter available for the grits, though they tasted ok, it was a scant portion. Will not be returning. The water was ice cold. Don't hold your breath if you need a straw. I actually told my MIL at the table that I would rather eat at her house, or mine for breakfast than waste money at the Broken Yolk Grill. Maybe truckers would like to eat here though. read more

It's kind of hard to compete for our breakfast business when there is a Kelly's, Skillets, and several taquerias right down the road from this place but my boyfriend absolutely adores breakfast, and we'd never been so we decided to stop in and try it today. I got the chicken fried steak and eggs with a side of grits and S.O.S with a coffee. The food was passable, steak and gravy was salty and the cream gravy on the S.O.S. was very bland, but the bacon was good and they were very generous with the grits. Service wasn't terrible, she brought me a side of cornbread instead of the S.O.S. initially but it was fixed quickly and we were never out of coffee. The only part I thought was really off was a woman who appeared to be the owner walking around to tables and telling them she didn't know who their server was. She kept telling people they didn't know what to expect with it being new years day and the servers didn't seem to be communicating who's section was where, which lead to some tables waiting a while to order. read more

So, I was excited to try the food it was a really cute homie type of restaurant. When I looked at the menu I saw a lot of good choices and I asked for suggestions the server didn't really know what to say and just pointed at random things. It should have been my first warning about the place. I decided on the chopped steak and eggs for my breakfast. I was expecting a generous portion of meat, however, I received basically and extra large hamburger patty with a side of lettuce and tomato. I could not believe my eyes, I I thought they got the order wrong. I mean it looked like a hamburger without the buns. I told the girl that I did not want this as my entree because it's not what I expected it to be. She was very polite and took it away and told me that the server will come and retake my order when the server came to our table she didn't apologize; all she said was "you know you have to pay for this right". I was horrified and then I ordered a side of sausage that tasted worse than McDonald's patties that I still had to wait on. read more

Went here for the first time 11/29/2016. I've been on a burger hunt lately. I know where to get the good ones but I like to try new ones. Anyway I went here for lunch. They had a buffet lunch table that had a good selection but you don't serve yourself and I was here strictly for the burger anyway. I will be back for the breakfast just because the menu had so much to offer. The waitress was very friendly and brought me a menu immediately. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and fries with sweet tea. The tea was perfect not too sweet, just right. Some places sweeten the tea too much. The burger came open faced with the usual lettuce, tomato, pickle and onions. It comes with mayo but I opted for mustard also. Fries were crinkle cut frozen but they were good. I'd give them a 3.5. I have a weak spot for crinkle cut fries since they hold more ketchup. Don't get me wrong my favorite are fresh cut twice fried but if I have to have frozen I like crinkle cut. The burger was about a 3.5 because the patty was a little over done which made it dry. Everything else about it was good. The bacon was crispy, cheese melted and plenty of onions. I love onions on my burger, can't get enough. It's a good size burger so you better be hungry if you go for the double. Overall a decent experience but when it comes to burgers I have better options. Once again half stars would be helpful because I really would like to give 3.5 stars but I had to give 3 stars because I just don't think it was 4 stars. Brought my grandson's for breakfast. I asked them where they wanted to go. It was unenimas. They had been here before. They loved the big delicious pancake, omelet, big breakfast taco the bacon is really good. Service is good. The owners are very friendly and always making sure everyone is taken care of. I like that. Looking for a new place for breakfast we decided to give Pappas Yolk's a try and was glad we did. The service was friendly and the food was good. My husband and I come here almost every day for lunch. We really enjoy their food and I am obsessed with their Mac n cheese! We only get an hour for lunch so their steam table helps us get in and out in a jiffy. I also tried their apple pie recently and I'm not sure if it's my pregnancy cravings talking but it's the best apple pie I've ever had in my life! First i would like to say that service was good, i get the same waiter every time and he is excellent. gets my order in and out right away, whether they are busy or not; if i have to wait for my food he lets me know and we chat like he seems to do with all of his other tables which is nice to see. restaurants are supposed to have friendly service and he is an great waiter. now as far as food goes, breakfast sucks and i dont recommend it, too bland for my taste. i got pancakes and bacon and the pancakes had no flavor at all, even with all of the syrup i used. with lunch though, its always good. i usually get the patty melt or double cheese burger and it is always good. ive gone there quite a bit and havent really had anything bad to say. the owners walk around and ask if we need anything so that is a good side since i usually dont see that very often. one of the owners stands in a corner and just stares, which is kind of uncomfortable for me because i dont like people staring while im eating but other than that i havent had bad times at this restaurant and would go again. read more

Had very enjoyable breakfast early on a Sunday morning. Very friendly greeting and staff continued this gracious attitude thru service and as we left. Servings are generous, fresh and quite delectable. My only negative comment is that the chicken fried steak and gravy did not appear or taste as though it had been made there, but bought prepackaged. There was plenty besides that to provide a very filling meal. Just a bit disappointing. I'd highly recommend arriving early, since the place filled up as we ate out meal. Okay, I tried this place again. This restaurant is cute as it can be. It looks clean and bright. Too bad the food is not good. I ordered an veggie omelette with hashbrowns and toast. The omelette was flat, not fluffy at all. It was overcooked on the outside. The hashbrowns are the worst I've had in my life and I'm in my late 40's. The hashbrowns are not hashbrowns. They are one huge glob of mushy potatoes. Absolutely horrible! To top off the bad food, one of the waitresses poured the last portion of a pot of regular caffeinated coffee into the decaf coffee pot to free up the regular coffee pot to make more. When I told our waitress what we saw, she tried to argue and say the other waitress wouldn't have done that. She finally said she'll pour it out and make fresh decaf coffee. We saw her ask the waitresses if they did what we said they did and the guilty waitress owned up to it. I am so very disappointed that this restaurant hasn't hired a real chef. I was excited to have a new place like this in the area, but I will not be returning. The food is just bad. read more
