I've been here a few times and the service was some of the best I've gotten at any restaurant. The wait staff made sure I had an excellent dinning experience. They were attentive enough to meet all my dinning needs, but not too much to annoy me. I got the half order of King Crab and it was cooked to perfection. I've never made that claim in a review before. Too many places over cook it and it's like trying to eat a rubber chicken. I will definitely be back on my return to the Dallas area. read more

This location can sometimes be amazing and sometimes just ehh.. Today it was In-between. Had a end of the year party with my family and friends this evening. Great appetizers and great services. However, the dirty rice dishes is still salty since the last time I reviewed this location of pappas. It seems like the menu has also changed as well, I don't remember the Mississippi O having crab and oysters in it, but the portions were great. I had about 8-9 oysters, a large filet of catfish and wonderful crab; unfortunately, the sauce on the seafood was very salty, mixed with even saltier dirty rice was a disappointment. I only ate 3-4 bites of it and togo it home. It was way to salty for me. The gumbo was also salty as well and very liquidity. Was gumbo always watery? It was my first time ordering it and will be the last. The fried calamari is still good! Salad was great~ love the dressing. The new entree "salmon with shrimp and octopus" was fabulous! I ate some off of my mother's dish. Love the texture of the salmon. A++ the strawberry lemonade was alright today. Overall good experience, but I wish they would fix the taste palette of the dirty rice dishes. If dirty rice is suppose to be salty, the sauce should be bland, rich or creamy. Balance it out. I really miss the blacken Alexander ;-; there's actually a new dish that has mahi fish, crawfish and dirty rice.. It sounds similar to what I used to order but catfish, crawfish and dirty rice. Maybe I should try that next time and hopefully it'll be similar to the old blacken Alexander~ desert was yummy~~ especially the key lime pie! Cheesecake was average, the bread pudding was pretty good and taste like pumpkin. I LOVE THE CRAB CAKES ! I recommend the calamari, key lime pie, pasta Mardi Gras, dirty rice alone, and crab cakes!!! Avoid the Bedford location. Last night we visited this restaurant location and will not comeback again. We were a group of 5 people. We walk in and they were not too busy but some how we have to wait for 10mins. According to the host she need to give the servers time to catch up. But the host went to ask a server if she wanted to wait on us, which the server took a look at us and said no. So after 10mins we got to be seated. It took another 12 mins before the server greeted us. We ordered everything right away because we all knew what we wanted by that time. We got our drinks and one bread. Well no drinks refill and no more bread. We finally got our food. Food was way over cooked the shrimp we're supposed to be grilled and they were so dry to a crisp. The rainbow trout has so much butter in top and was awful. Only one meal came okay out of the five. At the end of the meal we requested to speak to the manager and we let her know what has happened. She apologized and told us that she was under staffed. And that she would talk to the server. The manager knew the server was way to behind because we can see her swiping a lot for that particular server. But I guess she didn't care that the server was wait to busy to do a good job. It's a shame that a restaurant like this has such a poor service. From management to servers. Paying over 30$ for meal to have this experience is unacceptable. Pappadeaux is on my top 5 chain restaurants. I love the impeccable service I usually get there. The complimentary warm, crusty bread they give you with the whipped butter in the pretty swirl pattern is something I look forward to. The seafood is always fresh tasting and cooked well. My favorite dishes are the pasta Mardi Gras, mixed seafood grill, shrimp and grits, and salmon Alexander. You can't go wrong with anything fried either. I also love their fried calamari appetizer and oh the crab cakes are delicious! I have yet to try their desserts because I am always ridiculously full. They are very generous with their portions. For me, Pappadeaux is more of a special occasion dinner as it is on the pricier side but it's definitely worth it! read more

If you're looking for quality ingredients and fresh seafood, this place is it. This location is only 10 minutes from my house and I would come more often, but it's a little expensive. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff are more than friendly. Definitely a splurge! I brought my friend from Kansas City here because they don't have a Pappadeaux in KC. The waitress took our order and said she'll be back with some bread and butter. A few minutes later, a different waitress comes by and brings us garlic bread. I thought this was a new way they were cooking their bread, but it ended up being a mistake and they gave it to us for free. WINNING! The fried gators came out piping hot and was super delicious. The batter was light and not too heavy. The gator was super tender and well seasoned. If you've never had gator, it tastes like chicken but more tender. This was the first time my friend had gator and he loved it. The oysters came out after and was just absolutely fresh. It came with a side of horseradish, hot sauce, and this special house sauce. A squeeze of lemon, the house sauce, and a dab of horseradish on the oyster, BOMB! So refreshing! For our entrees, my friend got the Crispy Atlantic Salmon & Scallop. It's a spicy ginger glazed salmon with seared shrimp, scallop & jumbo lump crab over fresh sautéed spinach. Just absolutely mouthwatering. I normally get the smaller portion of their Blackened Catfish but the waitress said they can only serve me the dinner portion. This was sad because I normally get the lunch portion, even at dinner. She did make a good recommendation and said I could just get the Fried Catfish platter and have the catfish blackened instead of fried. And then just substitute the fries with dirty rice. I ended up doing that and it was just as good. The flavor of the blackened catfish has a nice cajun bite to it and the catfish was perfectly cooked and did not have any fishy smell to it at all. For dessert, our waitress brought this huge plate showing the selections they have for the evening. My friend couldn't decide what to pick so I ended up choosing for us. I chose the bread pudding and did not regret it. It came out super hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The top part of the bread pudding was super crispy and the center was super warm and was the perfect consistency for bread pudding. Not too mushy and not too hard. I loved every bite. read more

Accepted a reservation for a table for 10. The reservation asked if we were with kids (yes) and if it was a special occasion (birthday). 4 hours before the reservation time, I get a call saying that they cannot accommodate 10 people on one table so they'll have to split up the party. The hostess without, even me asking, put me on hold, and then handed the phone to the manager, Angela, whose only excuse was that we're one of the smaller locations, and that we're really busy. Maybe you shouldn't have accepted the reservation then, or called me right away so that I'd have more than 4 hours to make a reservation elsewhere. The hostess in person, when we showed up, had the same "it is what it is" attitude, without even so much as a fake "sorry". Definitely not going back, and making sure that no one in my social circle does either. read more

This restaurant is top notch a fancy restaurant. Prices are expensive but it is well worth the quality of food served. Plenty of tables, booths, and bar space. You get fresh bread and butter for the table waiting for your food. BE SURE TO ASK FOR ALEX SAUCE. This sauce is a great pair with the bread! I ordered the Atlantic salmon and scallop. The salmon is still raw on the inside but that's how it normally comes unless you tell them to cook it well done. The salmon is nicely seared topped with a perfectly cooked scallop and crab meat. All this is topped with some kind of buttery sauce. Under all this is cooked spinach. Everything pairs really well together. Great place, great service and I'll be returning again! read more

I have been hearing about Pappadeaux a lot everytime I visit the East Coast, so I was actually excited to see one here. Too tired after my flight, so I decided to order to go instead. Hannah took my phone order and she was really helpful and sweet. I wanted the shrimp etoufee, but I'm a spice wimp! If it burns going in, it will burn coming out () is my golden rule lol. She took the time to ask a manager who had eaten the dish, in order to give me the heat level. I decided to go ahead and try it. When I arrived to pick up the food, she was even more awesome in person. I was greeted with a smile, and good customer service which is very rare at restaurants these days. I came here for dinner because I was staying next door at the Courtyard on a work trip. I was by myself so I just sat at the bar. Service from Bronwyn was good and the gentlemen shucking the oysters did a great job. I started with the mixed oysters (blue point) and shrimp cold appetizer platter which came on a bed of ice in a big platter. It exceeded my expectations.... the blue point oysters were very good and the shrimp was delicious. I also had a cup of the shrimp gumbo which was nice and spicy with plenty of nice sized shrimp. I also requested some bread with the gumbo and they brought me a loaf large enough to make a couple of po'boys. The bread went great with the gumbo. Paired it with the crawfish platter and a side of seafood gumbo! The gumbo was a small bowl but had lump crab meat, an oyster, and shrimp! Soup was thin but tasty. The crawfish platter comes with fried crawfish, dirty rice, and one of the best and butteriest ettouffee's I have had. Recommended! I would go back! It's a smaller location than the Dallas ones but still nice! I like the private and quiet booths in the back near the ladies room if you need a quieter space. Parking is easy. He knew we were visiting and he even gave us a list of places to visit while here. So if you come, ask for Juan! Everything I've had has been amazing. We get the house Greek salad to share before the entrees and its delicious. I tried something different every night and have been so pleased. The lobster and shrimp salad from the lunch menu sounds like a weird combination but it is super yummy.
