Went for lunch (lunch specials 11-3) today at 11:30 and it was empty. By 12:30 it was getting pretty full. Thank God for the lunch menu which ranged in price from approx $16 - $23 because the regular menu started at about $25 and went up from there. 3 people for lunch with 1 app and sodas was $93 plus tip = $115. OUCH Food is okay. Cajun isn't my favorite, but if it's yours then you'll like it here. We had pecan tilapia $18, sausage & shrimp $18, mixed seafood grill $21 and the calamari app $16. This is THE BEST location in the Dallas metroplex area!! For some reason all of the other local options lack basic customer service and I've found hair in my food. Here from the time I walked into the door their attention was on me and they we're intent on making sure I was comfortable, especially with the Covid situation. Never in my life, have I been so turned off by my service to the point I was ready to walk out. I sure as heck, never would have expected this from Pappdeaux. When I checked in on Yelp, I also read the reviews and noticed someone had the same experience w/ the same waiter who was training a young lady. I have no idea what the disconnect was, but there was certainly a disconnect with this training pair. Nathan P. (the waiter) introduced the young lady he was training and you'd think "great", double the service.....Wrong! What we ordered: One crab cake w/ a side salad (to be served as the entree) Side of fries Crawfish Bisque Fried oysters The order we placed, was something that should have been served within fifteen minutes, if not less. Our bread wasn't served until about 25 minutes of waiting, at that point, we had only been served our drinks (water and a coke). I was so ready to walk, but the company I was with wanted to "give them the benefit of the doubt", you know, those people who give a 20% tip even for crappy service. Yes, I was there with that person. While in wait, I noticed the couple behind us left and a new group was seated and received their food, well before we did. They actually had full meals, not a small order like ours. After receiving our bread, another 23 minutes went by before the order was delivered to the table. ALMOST an HOUR, before we were served our meal. Again, refer back to what was ordered. No apologies, nothing other than, "is there anything else I can get you?". I don't know if the food sat for a bit, but it wasn't even warm, it was more like a lukewarm. Seriously? I'd think with two servers, our service would have been exceptional, but after reading a review that mirrors mine WITH that same waiter who was training, I can assume this is a norm. I had ranch with my salad, sadly, I couldn't really taste the dressing nor the elements in the salad. My crab cake was missing the avocado, considering we waited a century to be served, I didn't bother to add more time to the wait. With all of that being said and done, we arrived at 7:30 pm and closed our ticket at 8:54 pm. For the size of our small meal and for just two people, that should have been a short time in a restaurant. Even if we ate while chatting non-stop, we still should have been out of there by 8:15 pm at the latest. I was so DONE! If I visit Pappadeaux again, it will definitely be a different location, even knowing I'll have to drive a longer distance. read more

I remember being much more impressed, in the past, at (other) Pappadeaux locations. We were a part of 13, with a reservation. We didn't get seated right away, but I did think much of it. Then it just seemed like everything else took longer too. From getting drink orders taken, to menus, to drinks being delivered, to orders being taken, to food coming out, with long gaps in between all. And we had two servers. Rather disappointing. So my drink, a spicy Bloody Mary, was seriously delayed because of a problem with the Pina Colada machine. The person across from me got plain tea instead of sweet. The Cajun (spicy) Bloody Mary was kinda meh. I've seen so many Bloody Marys lately that double as works of art, that this one was quite boring. A celery stick and 3 olives. Meh. It wasn't even that spicy. It had a bit of horseradish, but that was all I really noticed. Our (Gulf) oysters on the half shell were good. My grilled soft shell crabs seemed a little oily, but were other wise OK. Come to think of it, they seemed more like pan-fried, so maybe I'm not remembering this description right. The dirty rice side was not all that special. There were a couple of fish dishes near me, a rock fish and a red snappers. Both were good and very nice portions. There were leftovers on each (that did get taken home). I will say the interior was OK, but not as I remembered it. I guess I'm thinking of the Arlington location, with the large bar and boardwalks. It has been a long time since we have been to Pappadeaux and we decided this is were we wanted to go for our date night. Wait time was about 5 minutes on a Friday night which is absolutely amazing. We were seated in a nice comfortable big booth just for the two of us. Our waitress was super friendly and kept those drinks coming. We had a Bayou Blue Hawaiian and Pineapple Refresher for a cocktail and these both tasted great. We always start off with the Crab and Spinach dip because it is truly the best thing ever, perfectly cheesy and packed with flavor. For my meal I had the Alaskan King Crab. This is my go to meal when I come here but unfortunately inflation is killing businesses as well so the price of the king crab has gone up from what used to be $59 to $99. While the price is not going to stop me from getting this meal again, I do expect to get a good portion for the price. Pappadeaux did not disappoint their Alaskan King crab had a lot of meat, enough for me to share with my hubby. I wore my bib the whole time and I am so glad I did. I got my meal with a side of french fries because their linguine pasta tasted weird to me last time. The fries however were on point. My husband had the Red snapper and shrimp, which he mentioned was really good. He kept raving about how good the salad was he got with it. Love this place. When ever I'm in Texas it's one night at Pappa deaux and the next Pappasitos. Really wasn't hungry but I focused in on the Sample platter because it would give me everything I wanted. So a visit is usually starts with a business trip. This time I'm in Fort Worth working a machine. When I went to talk to the concierge for selections he brought up both restaurants. With Pappa deaux right around the corner and me already been up nearly 24 hours I chose close. The food and atmosphere was awesome as usual. I started off with a Johnny Walker black. Ordered my food took in the atmosphere. Shortly after I ordered my food arrived piping hot. I tore into the shrimp working pieces of catfish into my mouth. I opted for the dirty rice which was away better pairing than fries. Once I finished my meal I ordered desert in big boy liquid forM. With the day being Mardi Gra the place was busy with a 45 minute wait. A lot of tables were empty the time was being pushed out based on the lack of staffing. So be patient this food is worth the wait. I know I say that a lot. But I also eat at a lot of good places read more

This location is amazing we were visiting and I really wanted the crab fingers unfortunately this location didn't carry them . The manger and our server went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time . I am a big Spinach and artichoke dip personal and this location made it perfect compared to others . The food and drinks were 10/10 . I've been coming here for years and the food is good as usual, very consistent. It always seems to be packed here no matter what day of the week it is and that's a good thing. My only complaint is that the prices have risen quite a bit in the past couple years. I understand that there are food cost but some entrees seem to have gone up $8 to $10 dollars. Not sure how long this promo will run for but it's HH oysters monday-thurs 3-close They're smaller than normal oysters but still decent and we're super fresh and delicious! Also tried their rose all day sangria and it was so REFRESHING! Give it a try if you don't want anything too strong. We also tried the lobster bites and IT WAS DELICIOUS! The lobster was cooked perfectly over a bed of sauteed spinach in garlic/lemon butter. The garlic bread was also toasted just right with the perfect amount of melted cheese. What we didn't like was the price. I know this place is more on the expensive side but the lobster appetizer was $30. Rose was $10 We went for oysters and got suckered by their good looking pictures. Undoubtedly, this is my favorite Pappadeaux restaurant in the area. You get the same great service and food as any other location, but this location is less crowded. That's a real benefit because it's easier to actually get a table with a shorter or nonexistent wait, and the staff has enough time to pay attention and take care of you without being rushed. We had reservations for 8:15. We checked in at 8:05. We waited until 8:30 to check how long the wait would be for our reservations. We were told it would be an additional 34 minutes. They didn't tell us there would be an issue with our reservation time. This was not call ahead seating. It was a reservation. The manager never addressed me. They never would have given me any information had I not asked. They do not need to offer reservations if they are not going to uphold them. read more

Came in on a Saturday night quoted an hour, ended up being 5 minutes. Sat In Bar area and had bartender as waitress. Never was offered bread and butter but ended up Ordering the foundeax and it was fresh, hot, and flavorful. Watched as your staff chased after one another to hit one another on the back, got to hear the chefs and cooks yell back and forth at each other and the lovely waitresses talking about their whole life stories , as we sat near the cocktail POS. To top it off, one of your servers passed us singing "going back to Cali nigga" . APPAULED ! This is the most unprofessional experience I have EVER had . Even while still sitting there waiting for the manager to come back we heard the chefs cursing again, and the manager shushed them. To top it off, my wife had a long strand of hair in her food . Now in all fairness a lot of my positive review could be do to the amazing waitress we had and I wish I could remember her name. All I know is she is in College and her and my daughter talked about their majors. Anyways... we both had this really good seafood pasta and a cup of gumbo. Our server went from slow to completely inattentive. We were advised that we could not order off of the happy hour menu from our table since it was not in the bar area, yet other groups went on to do so with no objections. My friend waited 25 minutes for a chicken salad then waited waited an additional 15-20 for her correct order since she ordered grilled instead of fried. Nonetheless, the Pappa's group should thank God for their saving grace Ally, their new manager at this location. We stopped in for a early dinner after Ranger game as this is our go to place for good cajun/seafood. It was roughly 4:50pm, parking lot was over half empty so we were feeling very lucky. We walked in saw a couple of folks waiting with one side of restaurant completely closed off. Hostess said we are looking at 40-45 minute wait. I am sure my face said "seriously" they had over half tables empty on side they were seating. As we walked out, we were not mad at the restaurant but just frustrated with the stupidity & economic devastation this presidency has thrown upon our country with throwing around free money. We wanted a place that we could meet with family members we have never meet before. This was the local family members recommendation for a place to meet and have dinner. We had 10 people and the bill was only $400 with 2 bottles of wine and no appetizers. The staff was great taking care of us all.
