Well...a party of 14 went to Pappadeaux Restaurant in Marietta Georgia...two nights ago. All I can say is...AWESOME FOOD. Their outstanding service started at the hostess's desk. Then continued with the drinks server. The waiter was extremely courteous and professional. Gave full detailed description of the food on the menu and made "no pressure" suggestions when anyone was new or indecisive. All his suggestions were spot on. The food was on time. The food was very tasty. The food was well seasoned but not overwhelming. The portions were more than enough for leftovers. Even the coffee...I had coffee...was great. Ambiance was warm and welcoming. And every member of the staff smiled and none of them ever looked bothered or frustrated or as if they did not want to be there. Everyone's order were just as expected and as ordered. Servers were attentive and all that while handling the prime dinner crowd. Well done Pappadeaux...excellent experience and great food. Yikes! Just left Pappadeaux and was charged for an order of roasted oysters with hair cooked into the cheese. I didn't have the time nor energy to go back and forth but be sure to examine your food! And be prepared to pay for food you might not be satisfied with. The manager even came over to reassure it would be taken care of but I know now that they are okay with serving (and requiring guests to pay for) food with hair in it. read more

Today was probably my fourth visit this year to this location and I've noticed a decline in the quality, presentation and most of all taste.... Service was above good, but sadly I won't be returning anytime soon. SALT was a huge factor..... the appetizer as well as all four entrees were over seasoned and the carrots were not as advertised on the menu. Boiled then sprinkled with pistachios ....yes! I stopped here for lunch and they were pretty busy, but I was able to be seated right away. If you are planning to come for dinner it is best to make a reservation. It was a little chilly in the restaurant, so I ordered a hot tea to drink before my meal. The water for the tea was not hot, more like room temperature. During lunch time they offer their full menu, as well as a lunch special menu. I ordered the seafood gumbo and salad. The food came out really fast. The portions were big and I definitely was not able to finish everything. The gumbo was ok. It would've been better if the shrimp was cooked(warm). The food is just ok. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Georgia. I was a little disappointed this time I ordered the seafood platter which I found the portions were very small those shrimps were too small to butterfly them and the oysters were very small. Also, the stuffed crab was very very small. The price was the same. Why are you serving such small portions on your seafood platter Let me not forget the catfish fillets. Came to Atlanta to visit family and this was a memorable experience! They are decorated beautifully and have amazing dishes, with large portions. I ordered the seared salmon and shrimp. AMAZING! Just the smell made my mouth water, the shrimp was a burst of flavor, the salmon melted in my mouth, the noodles were amazing and an interesting take on collaborating cultures through cuisine. The calamari was fried well and didn't even need lemon which I usually will add if it lacks flavor. The crab finger dinner was super yummy. The gumbo was okay, not the best I had, but my grandfather still enjoyed it. The cheesecake was LARGE, but creamy and delicious. Loved the experience, the waiter was super nice, but the hostesses were a little short with their responses. Nevertheless, an amazing place that everyone needs to try at least once. read more

I spent the weekend in Atlanta from Maryland and Pappadeaux was highly recommended. We sat at the bar for a few minutes without being helped while the two bartenders were still "setting up" the bar. So we decided to go to the hostess stand and request a table. As soon we were seated we were immediately and warmly greeted by Tionna our server. I am so glad that we did because Tionna was the bomb! She was knowledgeable about the entire menu and broke down a few of her favorite drinks and food. Shrimp and Crawfish Fondeaux she recommend was too die for! It was warm, cheesy, and huge!! The Fondeaux served with French bread could have seriously been our meals. For my meal I had the Costa Rican Mahi and Lump Crab which was excellent and seasoned to perfection. Pappadeaux served me some of the best food, with no complaints (besides the bar), that I've had in an extremely long time. This has been on my "To Try" list all year thanks to Marley W's review 10 months ago. I have been to the Phoenix location and loved their food. And I knew I would be passing through Atlanta again so I bookmarked this awesome find. They have a huge main dining room of at least 40 tables plus more through a doorway. The dining area off to the side of the bar is used as a waiting area but we only sat down there for a couple of minutes. We ordered a Shrimp Cocktail appetizer which came with eight large shrimp and was complimented with the perfect cocktail sauce. Absolutely delicious! I ordered the Stuffed Crab, you can choose two or three. I also added a Soft Shell Crab and Red Beans and Rice. Both crabs were divine. Good eating. The red beans had some real kick and could have used some more time in a slow cooker to soften them up like Cajuns do it. My wife ordered the Fried Shrimp and a Baked Potato. The potato was gargantuan but then all portions were huge. She loved her food too. I tried a shrimp as well yummy. The girls ordered Chicken Tenders with fries and fruit which were blueberries. The girls said everything was all good. We ordered Cheesecake and Brownies for dessert to go. Again very big portions for both, big enough for two people to eat one order. Top tier food in the ATL area. I can't help but stop by when I'm in town. As a frequent traveler, this is one of the best spots to stop at if you are ever visiting the area. Blackened Catfish Dinner - Poor Experience with Dietary Request Ignored I called in a to-go order at Pappadeaux and was very clear about my dietary restriction: I ordered the blackened catfish specifically with white rice instead of red beans and rice because I do not eat pork. I repeated this more than once, and the woman who took my order (I believe her name was Gabby) seemed to understand. However, when I picked up my order and got home, I opened the container and saw red beans and rice -- which contains pork sausage. I immediately called back and the same woman answered. Instead of offering a sincere apology, she talked over me and brushed it off as "her mistake." She offered to make just the rice again, but at that point, I had already lost my appetite -- especially knowing how seriously I take avoiding pork. I declined and asked for a call back from a manager. It's now been over an hour, and no one has followed up. I called again and was told vaguely that "a manager will call you." Meanwhile, I'm hungry with no meal and no resolution. I expected better from Pappadeaux. If you have dietary restrictions, I strongly advise double-checking your order thoroughly -- because they clearly don't read more

My wife and I visited Pappadeaux's for the first time! We sat at the bar which has slow service except for one young lady her name was Allison. The other two bartenders could not keep up with everything, but when she was there, it was fast. Loved the bar so inviting and everyone was friendly. Then the meals made everything else not matter at all it was great, fantastic, awesome! We will be coming back very soon. It was even at a great price!!! read more

Listen! We need this restaurant in California! It was so good. To begin the wait was long...like a 2 to 3 hour wait. I was in good company and I love people watching so I didn't mind waiting. I was on vacation so I was good. Once they called my party I noticed the restaurant was beautiful and smelled amazing!. I ordered a drink which was a bit too sweet but it was good. I couldn't finish it. Our waiter was great and suggested it but I will stick with my Jack D and coke next time. I ordered the shrimp and grits and OMG! I swear Jesus, his disciples, Mary and Joseph all had their hands help to make this dish great! It was so good and flavable and Heaven, simply Heaven! The hours wait were worth it to me. Attended a birthday dinner party at this location with a requirement to get there by 4pm so we could be seated on time. Well let's just say everyone was there on time, unfortunately, not seated until 4:50pm. First strike in my book. The waitress started out great but the service slowly declined. The appetizers and drinks came out about 20mins after ordering which was good. However, after that the waitress was nowhere to be found and there were other side items missing. Finally, the food arrived about an hour later. Items still missing. I was definitely disappointed. My seafood was hot but my French fries were cold. For $30 I should have received hot fries. I went to this Pappadeaux location with my sisters who were visiting. I ordered my usual the Salmon Alexander and was highly disappointed. The salmon was seasoned with only salt and pepper (too much salt) and not sure what was going on with the Alexander sauce as it was not creamy and tasted a day old. One of my favorite spots in Atlanta. Everytime I am here this is a place I must visit. The seafood gumbo is full of shrimp, sausage and crawfish. The cocktail here are also amazing but I passed on having one due to it being around lunch time. We visited here around 6:30 with our two sons and only had about a 15 minute wait. Tashema was our server and was very charming and efficient. We started with the alligator bites and crab and spinach dip which were both very good. The crostini could have been a little less done and a couple more added for the dip. My sons had the crispy salmon and filet and were very happy with them. I had the red snapper with crab and my husband had the grouper with shrimp and crab. The portions are substantial and they were both delicious. We had the banana pudding and vanilla cheesecake for dessert and they were awesome. My only suggestion would to have more vanilla wafers in the banana pudding. The restaurant is very warm and inviting as well as the outdoor area. We will definitely be back. read more

Our waitress was The Best! She just had this sweet, caring spirit that made you happy every time she came to your table. Personally for days and just a whole vibe. Ordered my salmon medium; nice crisp outside and the most tender greatness inside. Very tasty with the sauce that it comes with but definitely not needed. These scallops really stood out, mind you there were only two. Lol Really good flavor and the texture was phenomenal too. The crawfish were covered in the sauce and were also very tasty! The dirty rice was great as well. Our waitress told us that it had pork in it, so heads up there. The bestie ordered the Seafood Platter. Walked in a busy night without a reservation and somehow got seated (there was 5 of us). I've been to the ones in Dallas and loved them so I'm somewhat familiar with the menu and all that. Went with a special - filet with crab and a sauce on top. The filet was a little fatty which is surprising but cooked perfectly. I should have gone with my first choice of a fish but didn't so I'll own that. So the meal was ok but the service was outstanding. Attentive, helpful, and a genuine cool person so I appreciate that very much. I'd recommend it as it's a good place for food but maybe stick to what they're maybe good at - seafood and Cajun. read more

This will be a short one... Last minute decision to visit for dinner while in town. Waited for almost 2 hours... I had eaten pretty heavy all weekend so wanted something lighter. Seafood Cobb salad. I had originally asked the server to bring me blue cheese dressing (didn't specify no vinegrette ), but I'm so glad he didn't really understand my ask because that dressing is amazing. That was literally one of the best salads I've eaten. It was flavorful and humongous, filled with lots of seafood. Did i mention that dressing was AMAZING?? Catfish- i tasted a piece . It was pretty good. Fresh and hot. Key lime pie- it wasn't my very favorite key lime but was ok. Very sweet. I had it to go so this could have impacted my views on it. The food is delicious, very well prepared, that I can't deny. Our family has been eating at Pappadeaux for years. The prices use to be reasonable, but now they are extremely high. We are a family that can afford whatever we like, but I no longer enjoy Pappadeaux because it is all about $$$. Several delicious items are no longer on the menu. My most favorite item, a bowl of andouille sausage & seafood gumbo was reasonably priced at $8.95. The same bowl of gumbo, (minus the oysters) is now $18.95 (price doubled, minus the most expensive ingredient, oysters). I'm still in shock that "boudin" one of this most delicious, traditional Louisiana dishes was taken off the menu. Boudin everyone's favorite, it was one of the only inexpensive dishes on the menu. It is gone! Far out!! What's up with that Pappadeaux? My main dinner choice use to be shrimp, andouille sausage & grits it is no longer on the dinner menu. I was shocked to see my other favorite, Crispy Salmon with crab now a whooping $41.95. I do not know what the previous Yelp review was referring to when they indicated the prices start at $15 ??? Yes, I understand that everything is higher in our country, but my goodness, the extreme, increase of prices at your establishment has priced out a Georgia family of means. One more comment: we was at the Jimmy Carter, GA location and these two woman sat at the table next to us. We were able to over hear their conversation. They opened the menu and were trying to find something they could afford, they commented they didn't know the prices were so high. So they decided they could afford to get one meal and share it. Table for 5 for Birthday dinner I made a reservation online about a week ahead of time. Strange thing, the online reservation would only let me put in 4 guests even though we had 5 in our party. I chose 4 and modified the notes section explaining we actually had 5. The day of the reservation, I approached the restaurant and noticed the attached parking lot was packed. I had to drive around a few minutes to find an available spot. The parking lot itself is a medium size, but it seemed to be a busy time in the area. We arrived on time, entered the restaurant and were greeted warmly. I let the hostess know we had a reservation. She searched and quickly found it in the system. She advised that we could not be seated until the full party arrived. She offered the bar or the side parlor as a waiting area. We waited for the rest of our party and they eventually seated us a little early prior to the final 2 arriving. Once the full party arrived, we ordered our beverages and reviewed the menu. Our server, Christopher, was attentive, friendly and answered all of our questions. We ordered 3 orders of Shrimp and Grits, one without the Spicy Creole butter sauce. My youngest daughter ordered the Chicken Tenders with French Fries and Wifey ordered the the special Tagliatelle pasta dish with grilled shrimps, scallops and crab. A little tip; ask for the complimentary bread basket. Our server told us they do not automatically bring it out any more and you have to ask for it. As I mentioned, it was a busy night and our food was extremely slow to come out. The manager even came to the table to apologize for the inconvenience and advised that our dessert would be complementary. When the food finally arrived, everyone really enjoyed their meal. The only complaint was that the fries were a little cold with the Chicken Tenders. My wife commented that her seafood pasta dish was "Damn Good". We ordered our complimentary dessert to go and wrapped up our night. Overall, we had a good experience during this visit to Pappadeaux, celebrating my daughter's birthday. read more

I would say the food is good. The wait can be a bit too long of a wait. Don't have other plans that is a must be on time afterwards. They are a bit pricey even when not ordering seafood. My disappointment on this past weekend visit, 2 years ago I had their cake cake which was a larger portion that I expected on this past visit. I absolutely LOVE Pappadeaux. Hell, I've probably been 20+ times but the last 2-3 times have been horrible at this location. HORRIBLE. I had a reservation for 3. We opted to sit at the bar. Sat down and knew the drinks and apps we wanted immediately. Drinks came. Good! Apps came, spinach / crab dip, so excited.. Took a bite - COLD. Strike one. They took them and heated them and brought them right back. *cringe Next, we ordered and kept trying to get a bartender's attention for another drink. He asked where our food was and I looked and said, "You tell me." THEN - we get the food. My cousins seafood platter was nice and hot. GREAT. She didn't get her baked potato, tho.. My aunts crab cakes and red beans and rice were ice cold. My entree came - the entree I explained I'd only eat with potatoes in the beginning of ordering - came. No potato. Then, we hear "86 potatoes. No more" so I told him I didn't want the entree and the manager came over. Explained she was sorry, I boxed it up bc she asked if I had potatoes at home to eat it with. LOL SMH Ten minutes later, the two different parties next to me GOT POTATOES!!!! I'm pissed at this point. Call ANOTHER MANAGER and he apologizes. It sucks because we had been talking about coming to Pappadeaux for daysssssssssss and this experience SUCKED. We never did get refills. I don't think I'll ever come back to this Pappadeaux. Beware!
