My first time ever at this restaurant and I absolutely hated the poor service my friend and I received from our waiter Brittany. For starters we were pretty much the only ones in the restaurant before the 5pm rush. However we were the last one who ordered Britney took everyone else ordered and they received their food before even taking our order. I ordered a water and thanks to Marissa for seeing my glass empty and coming to refill it. Also Brittany appearance isn't suitable to work in the food industry. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. The bar booth was cozy and the bartender very friendly. Fajitas came out sizzlin hot and he brought all the fixings just as we asked for. Went here for dinner tonight with my hubs.. The waitress gave us excellent Customer service! Their mango sweet tea is delicious! The chips are a little too thin sometimes oily. Omg !! Their watermelon margarita is delicious ! I got so tipsy off just one lol. I ordered nachos with fajita and a quesadilla. Honestly , those were the best nachos and quesadilla I have ever tasted . Where it all went wrong were the salsas !! Omg what a disappointment!! The one they bring out with the chips is not spicy at all , not much flavor either . This is place is ok, definitely over rated. Their chips and salsa are excellent. Fajitas always seem a bit undercooked. Kinda gummy best way to describe them. It's super loud in there also. Yikes. I could barely hear the person across the table from me. Also the chairs are extremely uncomfortable, they are tiny little chairs with hard bottoms. We had family members coming in from out of town and so we wanted a family style restaurant and one that provides decent meals and a pleasant casual environment. And this place delivered. We went on a Saturday night and although it took the host a while to seat us. She was extremely friendly and was doing her best because the place was unbelievably crowded. The waitress Viviane was so sweet and were helping my husband and my in laws with the menu items. I personally saw the taquitos and knew that I had to try those. My in laws got a ribeye steak and my husband ordered the large mixed Fajita platter. The portions were crazy enormous... We have leftovers for another week lol. I did not get a chance to try the fajitas or the steak but my husband and my in laws were so happy eating I thought it's pointless to even ask. Now for the taquitos I have never tasted taquitos so delicioso like the one I ordered here. Comes with a side of rice, beans, Guac, sour cream, and cheese. The cheese seemed to me like melted jalapeño velveeta at best. The side of Guac was about a teaspoon( serving for an infant of guac) is what I called it. But once I took a bite out of their taquitos the world came to a stop! It was all the right textures and flavors. The chicken inside was cooked well and tender and succulent and the tortillas had a drizzle of sauce on top which made some areas soft and other areas of the taquito crispy. first time being here and I was just blown out of the water. We started off with chips and white queso which was amazing with a little zest of spice. Our group ordered a fajita family platter which comes with fajitas , ribs , shrimp brochettes and chicken. Everything was great ! I'm at total loss for words , but here we go : fajitas were tender and flavored with smoke and onion , the shrimp brochettes were bacon wrapped and cooked to perfection and the ribs fell right off the bone , I'm not a fan of chicken so I can't rate it. I grew up in Texas, so I've been eating at the pappas chain for as long as I can remember, I've been noticing for quite a while that they have inflated their prices beyond ridiculous. I had dinner at this pappasitos this evening and of course ordered my usual, Chicken Tinga enchiladas, add on shrimp brochette, the last time I ordered the add on shrimp they were priced at $9.95 for 4 shrimp, I received my bill this evening and saw that they have raised the price to $14.95 for the same amount of shrimp, seems as though this comes immediately after hurricane Harvey which is even more sad,, Are they trying to recoup lost money from flood from the people that have supported them through the years?? And also the same people that have lost everything including their homes? Needless to say I will not be ordering my favorite dish anymore because of this. After an hour of waiting they were telling us that the party that came in after us was going to be seated before us. So we left, and now you have this review. Yuck. Stopped here on our way through Houston and were horribly disappointed. First of all, the tables were so crowded together that the wait staff and other customers had to rearrange chairs and shuffle through the aisles. However, the worst part was the food itself. I ordered the Matador nachos. The serving size was ridiculously large. I cannot imagine anybody consuming that amount of cheese and beans, and living to tell the story! Because of the serving size, only the nachos on the outside of the plate were the least bit crunchy. The rest were so soggy that they looked as if they had been soaked in water before put on my plate in a heaping mound and then topped with nacho cheese from a pump in the kitchen. We just wanted to write a review to say what an awesome hostess Genisis (sp?) is. She went out of her way to let us be seated even before our party had all arrived; saving us from standing at the bar for a half hour. She was friendly and smiling the whole time. I would have given a two star rating were it not for the fact that I suffered for having ordered the pulled pork tacos and experienced a gastrointestinal disturbance shortly afterward.
