Biryani was never really my cup of tea until a friend of mine told me about how good this place is and I'm running out of ideas of where to go eat. So my husband and I decided to share a bowl of chicken dum biryani (chicken with bones) in case we do not like it. And I LOVED it! It's not your typical biryani where it's overwhelmed with curry spice but it does come with a small container containing curry where you can add more if you'd like. It is so fragrant and aromatic that I regretted sharing a bowl. The portion was big enough for 2 people and there are two chicken pieces buried under the mountain of rice. I'm also rating based on a curbside pickup experience, not a dine-in experience, so take my review with a grain of salt. I placed my order online early in the day for a 5pm pickup. What can I say? I'm a planner. I had also scheduled a beverage pickup just 15 minutes after that. A few minutes before 5, I gave the restaurant a call to make sure they had my order. A professional way for this conversation to go would have been: T: "Turmeric Indian, how can I help you?" Me: "Hi, I just wanted to make sure you received my order." T: "What's the name on the order?" Me: "Janae." T: "Yes, the chicken korma with garlic naan?" Me: "That's right." T: "We'll have that ready for you. Just call when you get here." How the conversation really went: T: Hello? Me: Hi. Is this Turmeric Indian restaurant? T: Yes. Me: Oh, OK. I just wanted to make sure you got my order for pickup at 5. T: Yes. It will be ready in 10 minutes. I felt the interaction was unprofessional, but I've never had great service at an Indian restaurant other than Bombay House, so I was willing to let it go. Then I pulled up, and I waited until it had been 10 minutes since I called (5:08pm). Mind you, I had another order to pick up at 5:15, and I had put in my order very early in the day. The phone rang and rang. There was no answer. I called again; it rang and rang. Finally, after waiting a couple more minutes, the door opened. A man held up the bag, put it on the chair outside the door, and shut and locked the door behind him. I feel like it's actually really easy to make a good impression doing phone and curbside pickup. Fewer things can go wrong than can when dining in. But I felt like things were handled unprofessionally; maybe I just expect too much? When I got home, I found that naan doesn't transport well (it's better fresh at a restaurant), but I really liked my food. I had chicken coconut korma. I found it flavorful and high quality. I would give 3.5 stars if I could since the food was really good, but the interactions or lack thereof left a poor taste in my mouth. And for me, restaurant reviews are about more than just food. Maybe when things reopen I will try a lunch visit and see if their service is any better inside. read more

I put value on my time and what a WASTE of my time. Placed an order with an expected wait time of 35 mins. Got to the restaurant on time and they said 5-10 more minutes, they came out to my car "5 more minutes", came out again and "they're packing it up now, 5 more minutes" I was waiting there for an hour not 5-10 more minutes. Googled the closest Indian food near me hoping it would be good and WOW was it delicious. Im a basic girl who loves a basic tikka masala but my husband wanted to try the chicken tikka tandoori. It came with big pieces of perfectly barbecued chicken exploding with flavor. The onions and peppers had a great caramelization and soaked up all the juices at the bottom. This is by far my favorite Indian dish ive ever tried. I of course got chicken tikka masala as well which was great! The vegetables samosas were big and had a really tasty seasoning on the outside. read more

This is my favorite Indian place in Salt Lake/Utah. The food is authentic and delicious! The staff is extremely friendly and will guide you on any of the decisions around the food. This is southern Indian, which can be tougher to find in my limited experience. I come here every time I'm in town and is lworth the trip for this food alone. I recommend the chicken 65 (spicy) and the boneless chicken biryani but the curries also slap. They have also put in a bar in recently that makes the place feel more upscale. read more

Place an order online thru their phone system - seems to go to an India call center? So kinda wary now that someone has my CC info. Sounds like something more restaurants might adopt in the future to save themselves from having to pick up the phone. Anyways the wait was as other mentioned...arrived but the order wasn't ready. Both times we've come they didn't have any tea, they were out of mango lassi and no bar tender so we ended up just having water. A bit disappointing. Pretty solid Indian food. Come close to the start of dinner and you will get served quickly. We arrived early and it was empty but it filled up quickly as we were leaving. Prompt staff. My husband and I enjoyed Chicken Tikka Masala and chicken Makhani (butter). They were both delicious but we loved the Makhani the most, such robust flavors. The garlic naan was a generous portion but I didn't love what seemed like sprinkled powdered garlic on it. Overall well done sit down dining. read more

The best gongura Biriyani I have had in SLC so far. The spice level is perfect, and the rice is well cooked. Cut Mirchi was crispy; Masala Chai was okay, buttermilk was terrific. Biriyani quantity is good for two, but raita quantity is less. Service is quick; sufficient seating is available. An excellent menu with lots of Hyderabadi options. Hands down the best biryani place in the valley. It's been cool to see the evolution of this place, it used to be Pasteries and Chaat which was my absolute favorite Indian street food place ever but it's gone through a lot of change/ownership throughout the years and is now Paradise and has the absolute best biryani's around. They ship the spices straight from India and don't skimp out on anything- you can taste the difference in flavors and spices and it is spicy! I believe now they have an option to get a more mild version which is helpful as medium here is relatively a bit more of a kick than at other Indian restaurants so if you've never had biryani before maybe go with a mild version first. You really can't go wrong on the biryani- any of the ones with goat or chicken have been awesome- usually you can ask the server what they recommend and we've always just gone with the recommendation and have never been disappointed. They also have the best fried paneer appetizer here that's a great vegetarian option and delicious curries. Again, I think they have a milder version nowadays but if you don't specify heat level it will be hotter than other places. All-in-all this place is a local fave, our friends cater from here every year for Diwali and it's become a super popular place amongst the community here in Utan. read more

I went to Paradise Biryani Pointe on September 3, 2023, and ordered a paneer Tikka pizza. I specifically asked for a vegetarian pizza because me my dining companion and I have a severe allergy to poultry. The rest of the table was uncomfortable with nonvegetarian items due to religious reasons. When the pizza arrived, it was unclear that it was not vegetarian as it was frozen pizza literally thawed and served. After eating a little we realized it contained chicken, which caused me and my companion to have a severe allergic reaction. We had to rush home to retrieve the necessary medication for their rash. All they had to say in return was they were sorry as they served the pizza in a box they confused two kinds of pizza and served the wrong one. A friend of mine was breaking his fast by eating food here and unfortunately, he had to eat something he had never eaten in his entire life. My other friend literally had to rush to the restroom to puke this out. The worst of this whole experience was they apologized and said they would bring another veg pizza and not charge us for that. No communication from the manager or the owner on true apologies. I walked out without paying the bill as I was so disappointed by so discourteous service. I am not even getting into how poorly they were maintaining the guests there. 5 times I had to ask for water. We had ordered naan and all the curry got cold by the time naan came. To top it all off they made 4 pure vegetarian people eat a chicken. I am asking the manager to provide their staff with training on food allergies. However, I am still disappointed that this incident happened in the first place. I would not recommend Paradise Biryani Pointe to anyone with food allergies until I am confident that their staff is properly trained. read more

Turmeric Indian Cuisine is located in a strip mall off the 123rd Draper exit. They have redone the inside of the building. It is nice and clean inside with a modern look. I order the butter chicken. ---The Good--- -The food came out very quick. -The butter chicken was great. I got mild and it had almost no heat. I probably should have got medium. -The cheese naan was great. ---Bad--- -Table is wobbly. This is an annoyance that can easily be solved. -No ice. I know this might be a cultural thing, but I prefer ice in my water. ---The Ugly--- The price. Especially for lunch I paid about twice what I would have like to have spent. Overall I would recommend stopping by. It may a little pricey for lunch, but would make and okay dinner. If they came up with a $9.99 lunch menu with rice, butter chicken, and a 1/2 order of naan I would be a frequent visitor. read more

I was extremely excited to try the food here due to the overwhelming positive reviews. Once we got in we were greeted by a wonderful woman who was very welcoming however once we where sat we waited for an hour before having our order taken. My partner and I had started to think about leaving and even discussed going to a restaurant down the road. Once our server finally came to take our order my partner and I had decided to split a curry once we relayed this to the server he had said that it was "Not sufficient" this had caught us of guard and we insured him we should be fine and he scoffed and walked off to put in our order. Over all the food was fine however the service was abhorrent and I don't recommend going if you want to eat in peace and not get judged for splitting a dish. read more
