I had the Alaskan Benedict which was salmon with avocado. SO Good! The home style potatoes were excellent, too. The manager/ waiter was super nice and attentive. I love the way the restaurant is decorated the ambiance. The booths are new and very comfortable. I will definitely go again when I am back in the area.

The lady serving us was really nice but nothing about the food was good. Actually, I take that back, most of my side salad with ranch was good but there were a few pieces of brown/wilted lettuce that were gross. It was a nice size though and the croutons were good. Now, for the rest of it. I was excited when the fish & ships arrived because it was a pretty large portion for the price, but the batter/breading was too thick/a bit mushy on the inside while the fish was overcooked (dry). The potato soup was lukewarm and I didn't think it was worth asking them to warm up after a taste of it. The Alfredo was a bit of a strange consistency and the shrimp were overdone but the noodles were okay. I didn't try the breadsticks but I will maybe do that another day? The place was bright and clean but a small family tried to fit in the booth behind us and they couldn't (the table and the benches don't leave much room). I'm hoping that things were just a little off because they're new (or new to me, I haven't lived in this area very long so I don't know if I've driven past it before and just missed it) and will get better with time. Again, the staff was lovely, but the food was sad.

We have past this little gem of a restrauant many times. We stopped in today for lunch and what a great secret (hopefully it won't stay that way). The website says opens at 11am. They serve a full Breakfasr, lunch and dinner menu with a young persons menu as well. Chant'e promised us they do open at 7:30 am. She was great, super friendly and yes, a super server! I had the Tuna Melt with clam chowder and it was all PERFECTLY prepared. The taste of all was spot on. Not sure why the 2 rating but truly not our experience today. Extremely clean and the coastal vibe is well done we thought. Great job and thanks for hanging in there for the ridge!

Service was great. The food was horrible, chowder was soupy. The fried calamari was previously frozen as was most of the food. Though everything looked great, the taste not so much. Definitely, most of it was NOT fresh. Sadly, looks like we won't be going back, the old Pelicans Roost was better, so we will have to travel there from now on.

Seafood combo: shrimp, coconut shrimp, huge scallops, two 8 inch pieces of cod, clam strips

I'm a bit of a seafood snob and was not expecting much from a small town more than an hour from the coast....completely surprised at the very reasonable cost, quality, and portion size! I've gotten half the food for almost twice the price. Also included was clam chowder with big clams.

You step inside and head upstairs, and suddenly the outside world is forgotten. It's its own little realm holding court in the heart of Chico. It is warm, inviting, and has plenty of seating, with a full cast of attentive staff, and decor that doesn't shout "Italian!" from the rooftops, but is very hipster whispering with confidence. We opened with the lamb appetizer, and I'll admit this with measured humility... it rivaled my own. Tender, well-seasoned, and not a trace of that gamey nonsense. The Brussels sprouts followed suit, crisped just right, delivering that perfect bite between char and flavor. The bread and dipping combo? Let's just say restraint was not my strong suit. A few pizzas passed by like temptation itself, and every one of us took notice. Plans were made... our future visit in the works. For the mains, the birthday girl claimed the ribeye, and it arrived exactly as it should... cooked to perfection, with potatoes that could quietly steal the show if you weren't paying attention. Her boyfriend and I, in a moment of questionable maturity, settled our fate with Rochambeau. He emerged victorious and took the crispy chicken breast with gnocchi, a dish generous enough to test even a committed appetite. I went with the short rib ragu, rich and comforting, the kind of plate that doesn't need explaining. The drink selection holds its own, and the dessert menu read like a final act worth staying for... but we were defeated in the best possible way and bowed out early. Service never missed a beat. Present, attentive, and smooth from start to finish. Parking, as with most things in downtown Chico, requires a bit of patience and perhaps a small offering to the parking gods. But once inside, it's quickly forgotten. All told, a night well spent. Good food, good company, and a place that knows exactly what it's doing without needing to announce it. We'll be back... if only to answer the question those passing pizzas left behind.
