I was on a quest to get or rather find a stellar burger the other day so I did a search on yelp and found this place. Located in a strip mall (sort of ) this place has an extensive menu including breakfast, lunch with sandwiches and burgers and hot dogs. My lunch mate ordered the fish and chips and I the regular cheeseburger. Burger was about 8 bucks and F&C were about 10. After a few minutes, my burger arrived, looking good, with a health portion of fries, with lettuce and tomato, and I added some ketchup, the burger was still dry. They obviously use frozen patties because such dryness would not have been from fresh meat. By buddy's fish and chips were also, pedestrian from the restaurant supply freezer. We were both underwhelmed, sadly because we would have thought that a small non franchise joint like this would at least have better meat or fish. All in all, a Burger King Whopper tastes better than what I had, my friends fish and chips were only salvageable because the french fries where decent when smothered with ketchup. read more

Used to live in Windsor, now I will gladly drive an hour for the burger. One burger is about 2 days worth of food itself, and then there's fries too! Would like to see them do seasoning on the fries because I always end up taking half the meal home. The owners are always in the restaurant and some of the nicest people your going to get at a fast food restaurant. Eat outside or take it home, the restaurant is small and usually playing CNN but always smells amazing! Never been disappointed on my 20+ visits! read more

We found this place on yelp on our way home from Mendocino. We wanted something quick. We all got burgers and they were great. Then, we saw the lady next to us who order a sandwich and it looked awesome. I will stop in here again and next time I'll order a sandwich. Also, the people working here were nice. read more

Not thrilled I have to give any stars. Came here hopeful since it is close to home and had 4 out of 5 stars overall. Ordered take out but I'm not sure the guy actually took my order since I asked for pickles only and instead got everything. This is a hidden gem of a burger place. It is family owned and always neat and tidy. I am always greeted in a friendly manner and the food is consistent. Exactly what you want when looking for a classic cheeseburger. They also have a variety of other choices such as gyros, deli sandwiches, and soft serve ice cream. Yum. There are always ants in the fountain drinks. When you complain about it, they will just hand you another cup. Like another cup will make the ants disappear. The restrooms are always messy. They are stingy with the ketchup on to go orders. The burgers lack flavor and prices are ridiculous. Oh how I miss the old owners. Just go to Burger King instead. read more

Wow. Words can't describe how amazing this place is. The menu is just like any regular burger joint. But you can taste the difference in care they put into it. One of the absolute must try's would be their Super Breakfast Burrito. Great size for the price. Come before 11am for that tho. On occasion they can dish out some breakfast items if it's slow enough. Family run. Always friendly and understanding of my ambitious 2 year old. Great place to take the family for a summer time lunch. They also make an amazing vegetarian pesto sandwich. I love this restaurant. I frequently eat their breakfast burrito's that have egg, hash browns, bacon, and salsa. It's huge and excellent tasting. The owners and staff are very friendly and hardworking. It's always a pleasure to eat at Thumbs Up Burger, and I like the idea of spending my dollars at a local family business. I used to like coming here but now not so much. The burger seemed way smaller than it used to be covered by an enormous bun. Photo posted. They post little rules like "only one free refill, $0.50 charge for card transactions under $5, etc" rather inconvenient if you want to stop in for an ice cream or slush puppy. Does not feel very welcoming. I used to really like this place but for the same price at Superburger or Applebees you definitely get more for your money and full table service and a full size burger. My wife and I visited your restaurant today 5/25/14 at around noon. My wife and I both ordered hamburgers which were over cooked so we sent them back which didn't seem to be a problem until we heard the cook saying to the waitress ( they are cooked medium) which they weren't. We received our new burgers which were cooked correctly as requested, but the cook put our old fries on our plates!! This is unacceptable to serve old fries with our hot burgers! At this point we just wanted to eat and leave. We've been coming to your restaurant for the last couple of years and nothing but high praises for your food. So this visit was a total let down and might change our minds on where we want to spend our money!! This had nothing to do with the waitress as she was pleasant and addressed our issue right away and checked to see if the new burgers were cooked correctly. read more

If 0 stars was an option, that's what would be selected here. When placing the order, we asked for ketchup only on the burger and the reply was "we don't do that." Really at a burger joint? Mind you this was at 6:50 on a Friday evening. Then we are told to hurry up and get there to pick up the food because they want to close the restaurant. We should have known this was going to be a disaster , but we wanted burgers. So we ordered it and got there within 5 minutes. By the way the food was not ready even though they wanted us to be there fast. One of the workers was outside talking to friends. We went inside and received horrible customer service. The cashier was rude and argumentative plus very confrontational about our order after we paid for it. This was the last time we will order from this place. We suggest you stay away too. When to this spot unplanned. Wasn't sure about it but you can tell they been around for a while once you walked in. The food was amazing! I go here all the time, usually for a milkshake or a burger and fries. Always good stuff and they are very quick whether you're eating in or taking it to go. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful as well! Service wasn't very good. The burger was adequate nothing more. Was cooked well done instead of medium, what kind of burger place can't get the temp right? The bun and the pickles were the best part. The mayo tastes cheap and the burger was greasy. My wife said she could taste pine-sol chemical like flavor on the fries. Wonder if they use that in the kitchen. The woman behind the counter isn't friendly. Didn't seem like she wanted to check ingredients and I'm pretty sure they use lots of frozen and processed food which is sad,how hard is it to use fresh potatoes and ingredients. If you're looking for homemade burgers and fries this is far from it. Five guys actually has better burgers and they don't use frozen food and the fries are cut fresh there. read more

Overall I like this place. Food is decent but not great. The kid who works the front does a great job, by far the customer service of any one working there. My only gripe is that they are not flexible with their menu. Their burger/fries/drink deal is 6 or 8 bucks which is what I gravitate towards because most of their a la carte burgers are close to $10. If you get the deal their are no substitutions. Example- I wish they would let you sub onion rings for an extra $1.50 or so. The only options are to order a side of onion rings ($5.50) or a non deal burger ($10) then sub onion rings which is an extra $3.50! Also, their coupons are super confusing, lots of rules and regs. If this place had better fries, buns, and were more easy going with letting you get what you want without overcharging, I'd go there more often. read more
