Approximately 10 years ago I purchased 2 remarkably beautiful and well made rugs from Penny at Paradise Oriental Rugs. I have walked on the rugs daily as have family and friends. The best way to shop with Penny is to have her throw down rug after rug, accompanied by a steady stream of banter about rug details, style, construction.......she will navigate on the spot to bring out those rugs that appeal most..........and then Penny will throw out a curve ball........something off formula........to see how you like it. I bought two of those types. I lost around 20 rugs in the CZU Lightning Fire..........and I went to see Penny with the idea of replacing just one or two. Walked in to see rugs, need a large rug for my dining room. My friend was waiting outside with her dog. Before I could take more than two steps in without a greeting, the man working in the store raised his voice at my friend to get the dog away from the doorway. The dog wasn't "in" the doorway. He was rude, and I immediately left. I am sure someone more polite would like to sell me a rug.
