Paradise is a family owned diner with a Greek/Albanian influence. Service is friendly and food is good but average which is fine given their reasonable prices. My wife had the Chicken Kabobs and there was a breast full of chicken on one skewer. I tried the Albanian Chicken which was flavorful with a marinara sauce including green peepers and onions. The physical building is inviting from the outside with great booths facing Main Street. The inside is tired and in need of a renovation which has not occurred in a long time. If you are looking for a casual place with good food at a fair price this is it. I would like to give it another star but it is a tired dinner on the inside and food is good but not great so 3 stars it is. read more

Lemon Chicken Soup has been overcooked. The rice or orzo, indistinguishable, was way too soft and soggy, and the soup had no flavor.

I went by reviews of fellow Tampa Bay Yelpers and I was not disappointed. I felt like I was back in NJ in any old diner. Felt very at home here. I had the Albanian style broiled flounder which was excellent. I also had the BEST Italian Wedding soup I have ever had here!!!! The mashed taters were very good with big lumps in them!! I've eaten here quite a few times now and while it's not something I'd rave about, I keep going back. That has to mean something right? Well, it does. The service is always very fast and extremely friendly but not in an annoying way. It's family owned and you can tell the staff enjoys working there. Breakfast menu is great and you can't beat the prices. They also have a grilled cheese and fries meal that hits the spot when you want something home cooked but don't want to cook it yourself. They have great soups and I haven't had any of the Albanian dishes but they look really good. I like this place too much to give it just 3 stars even if it's not exactly Bern's, it's not a 3 star place. read more

Stopping in for "Lunner", The husbeast and I got to try out this quaint little family diner in down town Safety Harbor. I saw that they had advertised specials on their place mats and opted for their pot roast over noodles. I was expecting brown gravy but what I got was something all together different. A luscious tomato, pepper and onion gravy over tender roast beef and pasta. The meal also came with soup or salad (I chose the Lemon chicken soup) and a dessert of rice pudding. All was served quick and fresh, it was quite tasty, and for under $10.00. My husband opted for the other special of a "Cheeseburger in Paradise" which was just what it was, a cheeseburger with all the trimmings and big steak fries. The fries were done to perfection and the burger, though pre-formed, was tasty as well. We rounded out our meal with unlimited iced tea. My granddaughter treated me to a lunch here and when we got there, we sat down and the waitress handed us a menu and thats it. 20 minutes later two people cane in and she got them drinks and their order. They ignored us the entire time and didn't say anything when we left. It was not busy at all, total of 5 tables. Well, were to begin. The place is your typical American diner. Great location. The waitress was very nice and the food was served within 10 minutes for three dishes. Pretty fast. However, the food left a lot to be desired. My wife ordered a spinach pie. It's supposed to be 80% spinach and 20% feta cheese. However, this was the other way around. It was more like a glob of cheese with some spinach in it. Not good. The vegetables were obviously frozen and tasted badly. You can't just heat nuke frozen vegetables. You either steam them or boil them. They didn't taste right at all. If I want frozen vegetables, I will go to Publix. I ordered your standard hamburger. While the burger was good, it has zero seasoning in it and just tasted bland. Also, it looks like I got the pickle spear at the bottom of the barrel since it just looked bad. If you are preparing and serving food, don't just serve whatever you get you hands on. Look at it, and if it doesn't look good, don't serve it. Get another one. I mean we are talking about one pickle spear but it just looked so bad on the plate. The other plate was your standard breakfast with scrambled eggs. The eggs were not scrambled and looked like an omelet. And last but not least, what self respecting American diner doesn't carry onion rings? Seriously? This trip was kind of strange since we have been here many times before and the food was always excellent. The onion rings were really, really good. I inquired with the waitress if the ownership had changed and she confirmed that it had. That would explain the changes in the food quality. New owners tend to go with frozen foods as a way to save money. Inevitably it costs them customers. Big difference between fresh food and frozen. Found this cute gem of a diner here on Main Street. Got the taco salad and it was delicious and the taco bowl it came is was huge and puffy. Staff extremely friendly and attentive. Reasonable priced. Came in for breakfast and the food was pretty awful. Bacon was the worst we ever tasted, although the eggs were nice and yellow but barely warm. The hash browns had large potato eyes that I had to push to the side. The toast was the worst kind of institutional bread and I could tell immediately that the "butter" was nothing of the sort, but probably some kind of spread made from chemicals known only to chemists. In these days of fabulous (local) coffees, why would this place choose such a dreadful one? Service was okay but we were given our check as soon as the plates were laid on the table. No checking into see how our food was although the bad coffee kept coming. They weren't run off their feet as the staff had plenty of time to hover chatting by the counter. Their breakfast prices are pretty high to start with, but charging an extra dollar for onions makes me say no way. I will take my business elsewhere. I go out for breakfast every weekend, and Paradise is very close to my house, but I will drive to Flap Jacks or Cracker Barrel to avoid the over charge at Paradise. You walk in and you can seat yourself. A server brings menus fairly quickly. The restaurant is a little dated but it's clean. The food is good and tastes like home cooking. I have been going to Paradise Restaurant for many years. It used to be a favorite place to eat breakfast and get home like comfort food for lunch and dinner. The waitresses have been extremely nice and speedy when it came to service. The last 3 times that I have been ( twice for breakfast and once for dinner) the service has been terrible. This morning was the last straw! The waitress was rude and the food was cold. Breakfast is not good served cold. The waitress didn't bring out the toast until the meal was almost over. The time before this visit I asked specifically to make sure that my burger had no onion because I am allergic to it. The burger had so many onions that I thought maybe they had been put on there purposely. I ended up scraping them off and eating the burger anyway. I had no choice because the waitress disappeared and I was starving. when I said something she said sorry, but it didn't seem genuine. I'm through! We stopped in for breakfast and found a car show going on, right on Main Street. I ordered fresh fruit and cottage cheese, which consisted of a pretty generous portion of musk melon and cantaloupe. The other two orders were, a Western omelet with sausage and home fries, the other had bacon and fried eggs. Everything was really good. The place was packed with locals and eager Car Show enthusiasts. The British Car Show was entertaining and prompted us to wander around and check out some of the great businesses on Main. Our server told us about every third Friday fun that goes on right there today. Bands, venders, etc. And December is even better so I'm planning to come back for another visit in December. read more

We were excited to try this cafe as we live in East Lake and have heard great things. We went in, seated ourselves and waited 15 minutes without any acknowledgment by the staff. This place is really clean and chipper looking. Paradise reminds me of some of the old diners around Alexandria, VA and DC when I was a youngster. I would give it 5 stars for service because the family who owns and runs it have always been exceedingly friendly and helpful. I am not sure how everyone is related, but somehow they all seemed to be. Gyros are excellent. If you are in Safety Harbor, this is a GREAT place for family or a casual dinner. Paradise was right on Main street - easily accessible by a short walk from the Marina/Resort/Spa. I visited here post Best Damn Race half marathon. The inside is an older style row diner, quiet decor, with placemat's that have ads of all the local shops/stores. I am always intrigued by what is near when I see these. The menu was typical diner fare - lots of pancake, french toast, or egg/omelette dishes. Post race, I want CARBS and my banana walnut pancakes were cooked perfectly. Coffee was also good and fresh. I was a little surprised that they did not have regular bacon, but did have country ham and turkey bacon. I decided to spring for the turkey bacon, it would be my first time trying it. No fault of the restaurant, but it wasn't my thing. Give me some dirty pig bacon puhhhlease! Our server was sweet and very prompt - service good :) Prices were average. read more

Since I love going put for breakfast I'm always looking for family diners who know how to make some good breakfast. I've been here a few times so far. The environment and service are both good, usually pretty quick service if you are in a rush. The food is ok, nothing spectacular. Eggs and bacon are standard. The greek omelette with feta and spinach was tasty and full of flavor. They also have a lunch menu here with a variety of sandwiches, soups and other typical diner food. Five stars for the service, but can't do better than 3 for the food. I was there with friends and an elderly relative - he is a regular and loves the place - and I ordered breakfast. The scrambled eggs were not fluffy and hot, but were flat and very greasy. It's not difficult to prepare fluffy scrambled eggs and when breakfast is such a big part of your menu, you need to learn how. The rest of the meals were so-so, pretty average. They would really benefit from updating the menu to include more fresh, savory ingredients. And cut the grease! It's definitely a family-friendly place, and as I said, the service is very good, fast and attentive. And the prices are not bad. Nice local folks. read more

I gave this restaurant a bad rating several years ago but my wife told me there was new management so we decided to give it another try. I'm glad that we did. My wife ordered Hungarian Goulash and I had the shepherd's pie. We both ordered broccoli as a side dish. I'm pleased to say that the food is very good. The meal came with pudding. I had the chocolate which is very, very good. My wife had a rice pudding which unfortunately is mediocre at best. Too runny. We were very pleased with the service (thank you Anna) which was attentive and friendly. The best recommendation I can give is to say that we will be back. read more
