My friends and I met up at Paradiso to celebrate a birthday and it was like stepping into a dreamy, colorful, retro wonderland. The C-shaped leather-like booth where we sat was spacious and surprisingly comfortable, and the table was adorned with mini modern-looking fans that we could turn off and on. We started with fries and hummus for the table as appetizers, as well as veggies. The fries were *amazing*! I can't quite put my finger on it but they had the perfect amount of crisp and the coating (I believe it was truffle) was delicious! I ordered Brussels sprouts and they were okay - the texture was perfect but I thought the sauce was overwhelmingly sweet. My one critique on their menu is that they don't have a ton of vegan friendly options so hopefully that'll be an addition in future. However, I appreciated seeing a variety of non-alcoholic beverage options which was different / refreshing from what I've seen at a lot of other establishments. The service was also top notch. The staff was attentive, patient, and friendly throughout our entire experience. Although the pricing was a bit higher than I'm used to paying, the atmosphere and service made it enjoyable to dine there. Is the worse restaurant we ever been to and didn't get a chance to eat. Waited over 1.5 hour the hosted didn't call us we have to ask about our table, she took us to a dirty table that haven't been wipe down. They proceeded to give us a limited menu from 3-5 that the host didn't mention, we place order of the mussels and a dessert. Called to make a reservation 2 weeks ago and was not informed until I arrived this 35 degree morning that our reservation was patio. I asked if we could be moved indoors as a quarter of the restaurant was empty. They said no and moved us near heaters. It's windy so the heaters do very little. Our waiter, Nick, did his best to keep us warm with adjusting heaters and bringing coffee. Excellent service from him. But horrible service from the hostess from making a reservation on the patio without informing us to refusing to sit us inside which by the way, 3-5 tables inside were empty from the time we arrived to the time we left. $150 brunch was almost unbearable to this lack of accommodation. read more

This place is the cutest and in a great up and coming area. There two bars attached to it that elevate the experience even more. But just know that's all Paradiso's is... it's an experience. A super cute and fun experience at that. If I was rating on ambiance and decor I'd give it 5 stars. If that's all I was rating it on. The food and drinks were subpar. I sent my first drink back and went with wine in the main restaurant for the rest of the time there. When we went to one of the bars on the patio it still wasn't very good. Such a cute chichi place! Loved! If Purple & Lilac drink is phenomenal! Great BLT. We waited awhile to see a waiter but once he took our order our food was on the table in like 3 mins. This was an amazing experience! I took my daughter for her 13th birthday and I must say, I was impressed. Unfortunately, they did not sing to her but we did receive a complimentary red velvet cupcake. I'm giving Paradiso a 4-rating, though I feel like it's a bit short of that on my personal scale. On the positive side, the atmosphere is very grand and beautiful, with high ceilings, lots of greenery, and skylighting. The bar is enormous and seating is varied and split level, with some larger areas for parties towards the back. Outdoor courtyard seating is also available when weather is good for it. I came because the pictures excited me. Service was good, and food was delivered quickly. There was a bit of a wait when we came, so we opted for bar seating, finding two spots at the top end of the bar that afforded us a command-deck overview of the room. The menu itself was a bit disappointing. Given the atmosphere and name I expected Mediterranean or Latin cuisine. But, it's sort of American (New) variety without anything that came off as original. It's definitely not Mediterranean. I ordered a Croque Madame (French) and the sandwich was quite small and the bread hard to bite through. Breadwinners Croque Madame is thick and lavish. It's a hard standard to beat anyway. But, this one was a fraction of the size and flavor. After taking in the atmosphere for a while, it seemed more and more to me like a hotel, like the Crescent or something in that vein. High production value, but short on soul. Honestly, this aligns with the type of growth that Bishop arts is seeing. It used to have a pure, underground feeling. But as the expansion continues south Bishop Ave, it feels more and more like Southlake, corporate strip centers and apartment buildings built to capitalize on the underground energy that made BA interesting. read more

I'm giving this place a 5 star review with a caveat- do not come here when it's hot outside, and make a reservation. This restaurant is WARM, the tall ceilings and the glass exterior does not do them any favors in this Texas heat! I'm sure the ac is running, but sitting inside eating hot food, you can't feel it much. This restaurant is also BUSY, if you don't make a reservation you WILL have to wait, possibly a long time. Okay with that out of the way on to the food. The mussels? Omg those mussels! Slight curry flavor, slightly spicy, oh my gosh these were delectable. And our server was on top of it! Even bringing us more bread for them to soak up all that delicious broth with. The steak for two was delicious. Was a pretty standard steak, nothing too crazy going on there but it was good. The lamb pappardelle is AMAZING! This is gonna be a must order from here on out- same with the mussels. Such a rich flavor. Big fan of the pappardelle. We also got the soprasetta pizza which was delightful. The honey added a great sweetness to it and it was devoured quickly (and the crusts were dipped into that mussel broth!). All in all we really love this place, just make arrangements before you go. Make sure to make reservations and if you must go when it's 100+ degrees outside I would recommend a later reservation when the suns not beating down as badly. read more

There's only a few restaurants I'd go back to in Bishop arts and this was certainly not one of them. don't know if it's because I know TRUE QUALITY FOOD after my experiences at other Dallas restaurants like Bullion, Drakes, Nick and Sam's, etc... but I am realizing that places like this that prioritize being "instagrammable" and "aesthetically pleasing" sacrifice the TRUE QUALITY of food. I ordered a crab pasta dish but the crab did not taste like real crab. It tasted like canned tuna. It was absolutely disgusting and not appetizing whatsoever. The pasta was okay, made in house and al dente but it was all very very salty. I didn't finish my dish and returned it. This seems to be a common problem because when I told our waiter, George, he didn't even care to really listen to my opinion and just took it to the back. My mom made a weekday afternoon reservation for a recent birthday. Such a cute entrance, very picturesque! Because of how early it was, it wasn't very busy but I could definitely see it picking up during the evening. Our waiter was polite and patient with us, giving great recommendations. This place is cute, like really cute! Paradiso gives a sophisticated, elegant, and upscale tropical vibe right in the heart of Bishop Art District. I came here for the first time last week and sat at the bar. I had the Italian Sausage pizza with a Manhattan on the rocks. The pizza was really good and big enough that I took half of it home. The drink was also excellent. The bartender assisting me was very friendly and gave me great suggestions for other nice spots in the area, as I'm new to the area. There's more to Paradiso than cute pics for the gram and good craft cocktails. I would definitely like to come back for more pizza or to try more of the items on the menu. I also appreciate that there are menu items in a range of price points, ranging from about $14 to $40. I'll be back, and I'll bring friends next time! read more

Great experience! I went there for a birthday celebration. Reservations are encouraged as it can get busy. Beautiful patio. Fresh food and cocktails. lots of open space to seat and enjoy. The outdoor area looked pretty relaxing and was Amazing from the decor and ambiance. My husband and I enjoyed dinner on the patio. Our server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. Their Brunch menu has lots of options to choose then the dinner menu brunch menu is served from 11 am-3 pm. Their cocktail purple lilac and the mocktail flight of the bees were good. The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Hummus and pita bread was so delicious though hummus was a little salty the flavor was good. We ordered the chorizo&olive pizza, which was good. A very cute place in Bishop Arts. The main dining area is beautiful and airy. There are couches, lots of plants and pink touches here and there. I am going to say it makes you feel like you're in Spain, but what do I know, I've never been there. We started with hummus. It came with pita bread and vegetables to dip into, and it was delish. The fried artichoke was good, but a bit too greasy for me. For the main, I chose the pan seared salmon. It was the most expensive item on the menu, so I was looking forward to it. Imagine my disappointment when the server presented me with a small bowl of white beans with salmon on top. No matter, I thought, quality over quantity, right? Well, I was about to be disappointed one more time. Everything was too salty, it was almost inedible. I saw other customers ordered pizzas and sandwiches, and those actually looked good. I would suggest they should take the salmon off the menu and focus on pizzas and sandwiches instead. Service was friendly, though a bit on the slow side. Iam sooo.. late doing this review... On July 12, 2021, the opened up their Mermaid Raw Bar. So you know I had to come check it out, and they did not dis appoint, It was a fabulous dinning experience. The atmosphere was so eloquent. I started of with some wine, followed by the fried achiote that had a amazing dipping sauce. The staff provided me Rock Star Service, very polite and happy to be of service. For my main course I selected the Lamb pasta, I add some more salt and pepper on this dish. I went here in the evening for a birthday celebration. Paradiso's layout is one of the best looking atmosphere for a classy casual restaurant. The staff were friendly especially our waitress. We started out with a vegetarian pizza and it was crispy and delicious. I had the Steak Frites and everything about it was great and the portion size was good for the price. I ended up boxing it. My girlfriend got the salmon and that was good however I hoped the portion size was bigger, it was interesting cause they serve with soft boil egg with it, a little something different. We bought a birthday cake and they served it with candles lit up after we finished our entrees. It was a pleasant experience and afterwards we took pictures around the area cause it looks so beautiful, you just have to be there. This place is a vibe factory. The food is good but nothing is standout. I had the Porchetta pizza which was good but I could have made at home. My fiancée had the chicken salad which was less tasty but certainly edible. The restaurant is very pretty however. Word to the wise, choose indoor seating. It gets insanely hot on their patio. This place was another restaurant that may be a standout for Dallas because it emulates California indoor outdoor cuisine but it felt like just another cafe from la. Absolutely gorgeous restaurant. There weren't any available reservations at the time we planned to go, but luckily we were still able to walk-in. We had to wait about 15 minutes, but time totally flew by as there were so many aesthetic backgrounds for a mini Instagram photo shoot in the outdoor seating area. At the time we went, the menu was limited to only pizzas. We ordered the Soppressata pizza, which was really good. The crust was fluffy yet the bottom was still perfectly crisp. The calabrese honey paired with the soppressata (which is basically a fancy salami) is a great flavor pairing if you like sweet and sour. The pizza was medium in size; my party was 3 people in total, so we had 2 slices each. My only nitpick is that you can tell some of the cushions on the lighter colored chairs need to be washed because you can see stains on them. read more

Paradiso is my favorite hidden gem in Bishop Arts! Gorgeous atmosphere, gorgeous food, great service and strong drinks, what is there to complain about? Came here for a midweek lunch not too long ago. At first, I had planned to sit inside because it was a bit cloudy. Once I finally arrived I saw that it was nice enough to sit on the patio, which is what I ended up doing. I love everything about the vibe here! The whole place, inside and out, is a mix of gold, marble and mermaid scales, with a mostly dusty pink and emerald green color scheme. Definitely a super instagrammable place, though I wouldn't say it crosses over into the "too girly" aesthetic. in the same space they have two bars that are sister concepts, one is the super cute Mermaid Bar and is directly attached to the restaurant. The other is called The Botanist and is right next-door, with easy access through the patio. Be aware that these bars do not have the same hours as Paradiso. I started with a drink and some oysters. After speaking to the waitress, who was so kind and sweet, I picked the Pink Matter, which sort of sounded like a rose martini. Rose reduction is combined with two different vermouths, bitters and gin. Superrr tasty! I'm a sucker for a floral cocktail and this was definitely it. Oysters came on the half shell with a lavender grapefuit mignonette kind of deal already splashed in. SO GOOD!! I slurped them down fast, they were fabulous! I was intrigued by the Potato Tostones with Caviar, so I got an order to try before I got my Soppressata pizza. The came gorgeously displayed, though I question calling them tostones. Traditional tostones of course are made with plantain, they are slices that are twice fried and smashed down. Had no problem that it was potato instead of plantain, I was confused because these marble potatoes were left completely whole. They were fried, but in no way smashed down. Loved the toppings which included garlic aioli, green onion, pickled red onion and caviar. All together, the flavors were on point and it tasted fabulous, though it was very heavy. Even to share, I would only recommend doing so if you had more than 2 people, it really was a lot of potato for an appetizer! Now for the Pizza. YUMM! Brick oven mozzarella, basil, calabrese honey and garlic. Perfectly cooked, crust was crisp and not soggy anywhere, with a delightful chew. Toppings worked in harmony, though I wouldn't have complained about another drizzle of honey, since I'm such a lover of the whole sweet and savory combo. Brought some pizza home for my fiancé and even reheated hours later, it was fantastic! I really enjoyed having lunch here! Next time I think I'll bring my fiancé for a date night, or maybe brunch. Second visit and both were fabulous! I loved everything about this restaurant, the indoor and outdoor interior, drinks, food, service and the vibe. Even though COVID seems to be not as dangerous, I still like going to places that are spacious and if you're with me, you'll definitely love it here. We ordered 4 orders of oysters, squash & stracciatella salad, spaghetti, and steak frites. Unlike other places I've had oysters at, this restaurant had the sauce already laid out on top and it was so fresh, juicy and delicious! The squash & stracciatella salad was very unique and unexpected. It was also very delicious in its own way with mixture of different texture from sticky to soft to chewy to crunchy. The spaghetti was the most unique just because the name was so ordinary but the food was so different from what I was expecting. I thought it would be tomato based but it wasn't. The flavor was good but a bit too salty as well. And lastly, the steak frites was the best!! The steak was very juicy, really well cooked and the fries were just soooo good I couldn't stop devouring them. I normally don't like the fries that comes with the steak at other restaurants so I wasn't expecting a lot but when the food came out, one glance at the fries and I knew it would be good. Our reservation was at 7:30 and we sat in the patio. It was sunny when we first arrived but as time passed by, it became dark and we were able to enjoy both bright and dark vibe of the patio and it was gorgeous. I noticed that a lot of the menu changed since my first visit so I believe they could be changing it possibly monthly or yearly but both visits, I enjoyed the food so it doesn't matter to me! I love trying new food so I will definitely be back soon and if there will be new menu that I can try as well. But before visiting, especially if its during the weekends, make sure to make a reservation because they are usually super busy and almost always packed! read more

I came here for a bday brunch during the weekend and here's me take on this place: Ambiance: Right when you see this place form the outside you don't feel like you're in Dallas anymore! The patio is gorgeous! And I'm sure it's even more beautiful at night time! The globe light and the Moroccan tiles fountain give it the perf chill party vibes. When you walk in, you feel you have to traveled to LA with all the vibrant colors mixed with the large windows and white undertones and modern/ eclectic furniture. This place is great for large groups or even just a 2 ppl date. It does get a little loud during brunch time and can be hard to hear each other across the table if you're close to the bar area. 4/5 Service: The party I was in was a table of 8. The waiters were friendly, but it did take a awhile to get attention of the waiters when all the guests were at the table and ready to order. Also, when I sent one of my dishes back because I didn't enjoy it, they immediately gave me a another dish and didn't charge me for either one. They were very understanding and took back the feedback I gave them to the kitchen. 4/5 Food: I really wanted to like the food, but after ordering two different pastas and not liking either one, it was hard to eat anything else afterwards. I tried the following: Linguine A La Chitarra Puttanesca - has a very strong seafood taste which made it really hard to eat. It def needed more seasoning to maybe balance out the anchovies. Pappadelle Lamb Ragout - I liked the lamb in this since it was super tender, but the rest of the pasta was very very bland and was unable to finish it.
