I came here after the Crow Asian Art Museum, and was just looking for something close by to get food at with my girlfriend. We came in here and there were a few people eating, but not busy, so we got a seat at the bar. The bar has a great, thick, wooden counter that looks nice and provides a ton of space. It was my birthday, so I treated myself to a nice cocktail, "Purple Rain", which was, "Home infused indigo gin, lemon juice, honey syrup, and grapefruit soda"; this was very well-presented and tastes great. My girlfriend got a well-priced beer she enjoyed, and overall they had an extensive drink selection. Our waitress was pleasant and willing to answer any questions, and we ordered a Guacemole burger to split, on a gluten-free bun, with some caramelized onions added, because it had a happy hour deal. Our burger was well-sized with the double patty, and the bacon was thick, but they forgot to add guacamole, and the onions were fried and not caramelized, so I took mine off and gave them to my gf. The gluten-free bun was great, because it held together and didn't fall apart like a lot of buns of its kind. I wasn't paying attention and bit into the side of their mega toothpick and caused some pain to my tooth, but it's hard to blame the restaurant for that. Worth noting that the fries were solid too. Their menu had some really interesting things on it that i'll try if i'm ever back in the neighborhood. I recently stopped in for drinks and some food, and unfortunately my experience wasn't great. I understand it was busy, but the lead bartender with the long dark hair and glasses was rude and seemed to ignore me throughout my visit. Went here for dinner at 7:30pm on a Tuesday, with a reservation. We ordered a bottle of wine and some starters for the table, and after about an hour I asked about taking our order, and the server said they were closed, kitchen is already cleaned. Turns out they closed that night at 8:30pm. The chef came out and said they'd cook us up whatever we wanted from the menu. Most ordered bolognese and one ordered a burger, which all came out fine. Went for dinner with some colleagues and was really disappointed by what we witnessed. One of the chefs (wearing a white coat) was yelling at a server near the back entrance to the kitchen. The server asked him not to speak to him that way and tried to walk off, but the chef followed him all the way up to the front of the restaurant and continued yelling. It was completely unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness as guests. No one should be treated like that at their workplace, especially in front of customers. Brought my mom and mother in law here for Mother's Day brunch and we loved it! I made reservations and they ran about 15 min late so we sat at the bar and had drinks. Delicious! The entrees were varied but I didn't particularly love mine - I got the lobster and asparagus egg white quiche and it was over baked and dry. My mother in law got the traditional eggs Benedict which was amazing and my mom got the steak and hash with bernaise sauce. Both were really really good, although the steak was a little over cooked too. The desserts were chocolate covered strawberries, mini tres leches coconut cupcakes, and tiramisu cheesecake. The flavors were good but the cheesecake was frozen... should have been thawed out more. Overall I would definitely come back. This was a new menu so I'm sure there were some tweaks needed but I loved the ambiance, the service, and most of the food. Food seemed a little pricey for what I was getting but I think in line with the area. I don't like the wasted plastic, hard to get them to not bring disposable straws with every drink. Finding this out on the way out of the museum might have shaded my experience of this restaurant a bit, I did regret not gathering enough intel before my excursion. I've had a raw oyster craving going on like the last couple of months. Your girl STAYS tryna save some coins so when I read that this place offers $2 oysters and $5 martinis, it was calling my name aggressively! Oysters on the brain all day, that MONDAY. First time going here, although it is always on rotation for my company's work lunches. Not going to lie though, after going I now see why. It was smaller than I thought inside though, so don't know if it's the best for large parties. However it was packed! Service was good, and for being a lunch time crowd, they brought the food out so quick which was great because it helps to get you in an out in good time. So many great options on the menu, and wasn't sure what I wanted to order, but the Poke Bowl was recommended by a coworker to me so that's what I went with and it was perfect. The spicy mayo sauce on it was delicious, and it was just light enough and filling for lunch time. I wanted to also try the Hot fried chicken sandwich, but my coworker said it tends to be a pretty hearty and heavier dish although also delicious, so I'm going to come back for that one when I don't have to go back to work (no time for naps on the job) lol .
