Seals around the door discolored. Not indicative of a new car

Update: 9 months later and this remains the worst car-buying experience of my life. I was charged for a brand-new vehicle that was clearly used as a tester. Transparency and honesty are basic expectations when someone is making such a major purchase, and neither was provided here. I will never be content or satisfied with how I was treated. The so-called remedies offered do not come close to resolving what happened. Customers deserve respect and dignity, and I did not receive either. If what I am saying were not true, why did the salesperson who sold me this car literally sink down in her seat when she saw me later? Why would she try to hide? The answer is simple. She knew what was done was wrong, and so did her manager. Let us talk about the facts: * I paid for a brand-new car, yet the value dropped by over $12,000 shortly after purchase, with only about 3,000 miles on it. * A Carfax report indicated the car should have had about 700 miles at the time of sale. * The brakes have made noise since early on: crunching, squeaking, and grinding when engaging and disengaging. This is not what anyone expects from a vehicle sold as brand new with no prior use. I do not accept the explanation that this is normal. I do not accept that this is acceptable. I absolutely do not accept being misled. At this point, the next step is filing complaints with the appropriate agencies. I would strongly advise anyone considering this dealership to do serious research and ask very direct questions before signing anything. Transparency matters. Honesty matters. What happened here was neither.

Subject: Disappointing Experience with My Recent Car Purchase at Paragon Honda Dear Paragon Honda Team, I recently purchased my fourth car from Paragon Honda. The salesperson, Fayyad, assured me that the car was certified, accident-free, had its original paint, and a clean CarFax report. I trusted them because I had a good relationship with them. I also asked Finance Manager Sammy, and he confirmed the same information. Because of this trust, I did not even test drive the car when they told me, "I got you. Don't worry." I felt blessed to have friends like them. Before taking delivery, I asked Fayyad why the car wasn't washed. He said it had been washed the previous day. However, I know that at a dealership, even if a car was washed before, it should always be rewashed before delivery. That is standard practice. Since I have worked at a car dealership, I tried to be understanding. I originally saw the car listed online for $27,000, but after a few days, the price dropped to $26,000. However, Sammy told me the car's actual price was over $35,000, which was more expensive than a brand-new one. He said that $27,000 was already a good deal for me. I understood they also needed to earn their commission, so I went ahead with the purchase, even though the price had dropped to $26,000 online. Unexpected Charges and Misleading Promises Sammy told my brother that he would give me unlimited miles and years of warranty for electric components, cosmetic issues, transmission, engine, etc., for free because we were friends. I told him that unlimited miles for 10 years was already more than enough for me. I was happy with that. I purchased the car on September 21, 2024, and Sammy told me my first payment would be due on November 21st. Unfortunately, this was a lie--I had to start paying on October 8th. Again, I tried to be understanding. Later, I discovered that he had charged me $3,200 or $3,800 for the "guaranteed unlimited miles until 2030" warranty. When I confronted him about this, he denied it, but it was clearly listed in my paperwork. Again, I tried to understand his situation. Major Issues with the Car Since I still had another car, I did not use this one immediately. However, after my other car broke down, I started using it--and many problems appeared: 1. The steering wheel shakes on the highway. 2. The driver-side door leaks when it rains. Water splashes inside. 3. Color differences indicate that at least four doors and the bumper have been repainted. 4. The car was involved in an accident before (which was not disclosed to me). I called Fayyad, but he said he did not know anything about it. I told him about the paint issues, and he did not respond. I then asked Sammy, but he also said he did not know. Finally, I spoke with Manager Alie, and he was at least honest with me. He said: * This car is NOT certified. * It was sold "As-Is." * If the dealership guarantees 100% condition, they must charge the customer extra. Marley from Paragon Honda Service confirmed the same thing and even said the car had been in an accident before--even though it does not show up on the CarFax report. Several mechanics at Paragon Honda Service also confirmed that the car had been repainted. Even my personal mechanic agreed. Lack of Transparency and Accountability As a salesperson, Fayyad should have known the car's condition before selling it to a customer. He should have been honest about whether the car was Certified Pre-Owned or "As-Is." Instead, when I asked, he said he didn't know and told me to ask Sammy, the Finance Manager. When I asked Sammy, he said, "I'm just the finance guy. I don't know the car's condition." If no one knows, why didn't you tell me the truth from the beginning? After a few months, I finally realized that they were just making excuses. Is This Worth Losing a Long-Term Customer? My question is simple: Is it worth damaging our years-long friendship over $27,000? For me, it is not worth it at all. Money can always be earned back, but you cannot buy trust and friendship. Paragon Honda is mostly honest with customers, but please, do not deceive loyal customers like me. I am a repeat customer, and I have brought you new customers as well. But I see now that you don't care, because you are busy and have plenty of customers. I hope you take this feedback seriously. Best regards,

My car!! Dealer discount on their website was all real!!

Shout out to Anthony and Daniel for their amazing service. I couldn't have been helped by any one better. Keep being amazing and keep giving excellent service. There's nothing better than a dealer who keeps it real and talks to you like a person. Will definitely return!

Any tips/advices for people looking to lease?

Just like for any car dealers I'd say do your homework/research before you go. Otherwise you'll be eaten alive. Compare prices online so you know what to expect and make counter offers.

Would you share your experience buying a certified pre-owned Honda Accord from Paragon Honda? Are the cars listed online in inventory and available at the listed prices? Any problems with the cars post purchase?

I bought a "certified" cr-v in 2011. 3 months later I found out the car was in a major accident and not only had major damage but they bypassed the car fax by fixing it themselves. I took to another honda dealer who said it should never been sold as…

I came in with a TrueCar price on a used car with nearly no miles on it. They honored the price (which, I'll admit was the sale price on the car at the dealership) and the taxes and fees added were actually LOWER than the estimated fees TrueCar gave me. We shook hands, called our car insurance, ran over to the bank, and came back ready to drive off that day. Once we came back, we were brought to the main building without much explanation to wait for, it turned out, the guy who does the financial and legal part and closes the deal. We were told "5 to 10 minutes" but it ended up being over 30, and nobody was able to tell us who or what we were waiting for until the guy was finally available. All things considered a minor bump in an otherwise overall positive experience. We came home that day with the exact car we saw online for the "excellent price" we saw on TrueCar.

I got a few basic emails that said call and we can talk. I sent another email back asking some questions. Pretty much those responses were not getting me the information I wanted . So i decided To ask them to give me a phone call after 3:30 on a Tuesday or Wednesday, I never got a phone call.. I decided I would drive drive all the way into the city from Hudson County New Jersey to try to make the deal on early Saturday morning . I was introduced to a salesman who was a very nice guy. But seem to be a little new at the job , we started talking numbers. I knew what I wanted to pay but we were off on the price to make a deal by $200. And after the salesman went back-and-forth to his manager seven or eight times with the deal I wanted , they stayed rock solid for $200. I wanted the car for 41,000 out the door, they would not budge off of $41,200. Then I was like OK I'll pay the 41,200. Then The car I was trading had aftermarket wheels. I asked the salesman if they could swap the stock wheels back on to my trade. I had the stock Wheels . i just needed them swapped and wanted my aftermarket wheels back. He asked the manager and they said, no, but we can get the shop to do it for you and you could pay for it. Which I was shocked they wanted to charge me to do this. I'm buying a $40,000 car and you can't get this done for me as part of the deal. I have done deals like this at other dealerships, on other new car deals. Never had a problem. So I ask how much would it cost me. So the salesman proceeds to calls the service shop and they say they will charge me $250 to swap my stock wheels back on. But they can't do it that day. I was still in shock that they wanted me to pay and could not put it in the deal for me.. Every other dealer has done this for me in deals and never had a problem switching wheels for me at no charge and throwing it into the deal. So i say.... OK, you know what keep my Wheels. I just want the car at $41,200. I was getting very aggravated and frustrated at this point. But I wanted the car. So i said fine lets do this. I was their first customer in the show room on a Saturday morning 9am . I said I want to take the car home today. To my shock, i was told Well you can't have the car today. We have cars in front of you we have to prep to deliver today. You have to come back sometime next week. I looked at the salesman and said I drove all the way from Hudson County New Jersey to buy this car. They still told me no , I had to wait . Now mind you the car was on the showroom floor and was clean and ready to go.. Absolutely terrible. I have never seen a dealer, especially if you're the first customer of the day. Tell me that I could not have the car. To me i though car sales 101 , never let the customer leave . I can understand if it was late at night, but it wasn't. I was the first and only person there.. And if you think I'm not telling the truth about the deal. I have a picture of the work up of the deal with the numbers on it . They Would not budget on $200, would not throw in swapping the stock wheels back on wanted to charge me $250, would not give me the car the same exact day and wanted me to travel back for it later in the week. Never been treated like this at a dealer . And I was polite and calm the whole time. So we did not make a deal. I got up to leave and they did not even try to stop me. I decided I was going to go to another dealer in engelwood NJ . Which I should've just gone to in the first place and not made the trip over to New York. I made a deal in NJ in about 30 minutes, not only did I get a better deal, but I also got an extended warranty for five years, five free oil changes. The dealer volunteered to swap my wheels off my trade-in for free and they threw in the extended armrest on the WRX . I was in and out of the second dealership within three hours. had my new car that day. Koeppel is the worst run dealership I've ever seen in my life absolutely terrible. I never even got a follow up call from the dealer asking if we could figure out how to make a deal. I don't know. Maybe they just didn't like me. Absolutely shocked and disappointed.
