I got locked out of my apartment at 4pm on New Year's Eve! Un-showered! In my pajamas (+ coat)! Frantic, I ran over to Paragon and they were thankfully still open & able to help me out no problem. I walked back to my building where I was met by Tal, who opened my lock in literally under 5 minutes. No need to break the lock, no damage at all. And he was super nice. It was seriously amazing. Getting locked out of your home on NYE certainly is not an ideal situation by any stretch of the imagination, but I probably had the best experience anyone could've hoped for given the circumstances. I am admittedly stunned by some of the negative ratings on Yelp for this company. After a DISASTROUS episode with a locksmith from my local hardware store (Artie's, on 14th St.), I called Paragon, who showed up within two hours of my call, assessed the situation, walked me through every item they would charge for, installed everything PERFECTLY, then cleaned up any mess before they left! They charged EXACTLY the same amount as the first locksmith, who left me with two malfunctioning locks and a pile of screws and metal shavings. Paragon is extremely professional ... and nice to boot. We called them today for a second opinion regarding a problem with a Mult-t-Lock we've had for many years. (These are expensive locks.) I've never had an issue with any of his work and the end result always looks as well as it works which is extremely important. Mayer and Roei are the head honchos. The pricing is expensive. They are not dishonest when the secretary made a mistake they eventually ironed it out. The workman came on time. He did not have a Don Jo or Prime line to brace the door. Pushed Multi lock not a choice of Medco with plate. Not a big selection. Seemed inexperienced but polite and pleasant. This is not your regular fly by night operation this is a responsible business: door, cctv, alarms. They are also expensive. It is my hope because they are a real business I can either get my 700 + back or they can redo the work +. He used the term 'rav bereach' no one is getting past this. But quite certainly at several times the lock was breached. Something opposite of the lock should have been inserted. They are not expensive at home depot. Sometimes they line the outside of the door with a metal cover and the side of the door. Worker was not equipped for that either. I also needed an outside plate over the lock but the worker of whom I asked no showing of locksmith license aloa(I suggest you do that and id) shrugged it off and should no one is getting past. connected in any way to the owner or employees. On one occassion I came home and found a 1 ft hole in my wall another papers strewn about They kindly sent him out to check the locks but he did not bother to check the locks closely, on bolt on rear door was loose and the outside plate was inverted. There were more than several things that seemed awry. Several things could have happened here. Bad install A Mgt company who has very good contacts with locksmiths metal shops and multi and the least pleasant thought, and I doubt this, because Paragon has the highest reputation, and Basics told me, if they shived the door, if they loosened the cams and took the locks to a lock smith dup keys could be done. I also found it unsettling that the 'locksmith called the blding' instead of me when he came to examine the locks for 1 minute. Perhaps they have a relationship and perhaps not. What is important is to refund or better yet keep your word and put in pick proof bump proof, and cover the locks and make sure that they cannot be opened with plastic cards, or metal thin devices that they have in our building. There are other possibilities. Maybe the install was not perfect because there are bolts loose and the plate inversion but BUT FOR the lack of protection of the locks we would not be dealing with this. or the expensive unbreacheable lock was breached, or contrary to what multi says or assa abloy there are ways of getting the key code. I wrote them. They did not write back. It is my hope that Mayer or Roei, their management reach out to me, remedy this situation so I can enjoy- quiet enjoyment and habitability of my apartment. If they can do that, MY review changes to 5 stars. I frequently believe that it is far better to deal with responsible real businesses that have been around, will be around and even if they might have dual loyalties can be held accountable for doing things right. In the end, my experience with Paragon though much more expensive, was far better than another locksmith who sent me a gypsy locksmith from Brooklyn who came 3 hours late. Paragon came on time. But all I can tell you is that I have never spent so much for so little security. I think this is an aberant case. All if you use them, insist on an experience locksmith who is licensed. See I am sort of recommending them.............but you have to know what you are asking for....for door locks one thing, for lockout another(simpler). Hopefully, Paragon will remedy this. This will cost them time. We can change cylinders. or it can be remedied elsewhere. For all you rookies out there, BBB, Department of Consumer Affairs, and Small Claims. I am not saying that is where I am going with this locks smith. The best resolution is the one mediated between people especially when you come from the same country. read more

I had an emergency lockout situation, and they sent a guy within half an hour. That's about the only good thing I can say. He drilled out the lock and replaced it, which cost over $500. (After-hours, emergency call, drilling, and new lock.) He gave me a hard time about putting it on a credit card instead of cash, which... who just HAS $500 in their pocket? I'd confirmed on the phone when I called that they take credit card, so finally, he gave in. After he left, I discovered that the door still wouldn't open---I felt like an idiot for not requiring him to stay while I closed/opened the door, it never occurred to me that it wouldn't be fixed. I called a different locksmith later (who did an emergency call for half as much), and it turns out the problem was with the doorknob, not the lock. What a complete and utter waste. read more

If you are looking for a security system, go elsewhere. They were horrible. I spent thousands of dollars for an install that they never completed. They missed three appointments to complete the job and I ultimately had to go to another security company to complete it. No return calls, which I left on numerous occasions and they left hanging wires that a two year old could have done a better job with. Incredibly horrible to deal with. read more

It was an emergency lock change and despite the freezing cold and snow on a Saturday night he arrived right on time. Communication is not their strong point. I had contacted them through their website for a project installing cameras and intercom system in a 9 story apartment building. They replied 3 weeks later. I made an appointment to meet with Oded at 9AM at the building at a later date, Oded did not show at the appointed time, so I called the office where they confirmed he had the appointment but could not be reached. They said they would continue to try to reach him and get back to me when they did. An hour later I had not heard from anyone so I called the office again, they put me on hold and contacted him. I was told he was having train problems and would be another hour (making him two hours late). I pointed out that someone should have contacted me when it was known he would not be on time, and that I was the one contacting them to find out what was happening. Because of their lack of communication, I could not do business with them. read more

The most unprofessional company I have dealt with. We have them the job on our contractors recommendation. We gave them a contract for installation of a security system, they finished the job 3 months late and we lived in our townhouse without any security for the 3 months. Within 3 weeks of the system starting the sensors stopes working and took them couple of days to come. The system was to be integrated with our savant system which they could not figure out. I could go on and on... This company is probably capable only of changing locks and nothing that needs half a brain. read more

On the one hand, the guy I spoke to on the phone was nice and it was great that he sent someone over to look at my lock to give me an estimate with no obligation to let the guy do the work. Problem is the estimate was over $100 more than 3 other highly rated Yelp locksmiths I called. I ended up having Monkey do the job for $140 vs. Paragon's estimate of $250. AWFUL!!! We had three sets of keys cut for the house. The keys to the front door wouldn't work. The keys were returned the locksmith said he could see there had been a mistake and said he'd corrected it. Went home, keys didn't work again. Came back, was told I'd have to check the keys again, there was nothing wrong with them, locksmith suggested I wasn't pushing the key in all the way. Went home, still didn't work. Worst part I couldn't get a refund because I didn't have the receipt. Obviously I had just been there and gotten the keys cut. Totally B.S. The locksmith offered to send another locksmith out to the house to see what the problem was with the lock. I said the lock is fine, you just cut shitty keys. I ended up going somewhere else and got keys cut, which I'll point out worked on the first time. The customer service sucks and if the keys don't work your outta luck. Do not use this place. They're totally awful!!!!! read more

My experience could not have been better. Probably the best customer service and service experience I have ever had. My job was difficult in that I needed security gates removed then reinstalled for window repairs. The gates and building are older and required special care. Tim, in the office, scheduled for an estimate at my home within the hour. He has great customer service skills. The office checked with me regularly to confirm appointments. I needed to reschedule a couple times because the repairs went longer than expected and they went out of their way to accommodate me. They knew I was concerned about having the gates off for too long. Tal, who gave the estimate and did the work, was efficient, considerate, professional and did a wonderful job. Tal brought 2 workers with him, David, who is also a locksmith, for the removal and reinstall and Geraldo, for the reinstall. They were both equally courteous and professional. I haven't needed a locksmith very often but I want to find a reason to have them help me again. read more

This security company does not standby their work and will withhold repair services if they are not paid promptly, even if the problem was never fixed . They installed a high end system in our home which never worked properly from day 1. Despite repeated requests to get it fixed, they continually put the blame on the AV guys who integrated the system into the AV system. After a year, the system still did not work properly. At that point, they claimed it was out of warranty despite having the problem from the time of installation. They sent a technician who spent 2 hours at our house. They sent us a bill for $300. 5 days later, the same problem arose. It was never fixed properly. When we called them again to come back to fix it, but they refused to send a technician until they were paid for the technician who came 5 days earlier. They were rude and incapable of fixing the problem. They wasted our time and the time of our AV guys who were trying to get it fixed. I do not recommend this company unless you like rude service and like to pay for things that never get fixed. read more
