    Vegetable Gyoza

Order with DoorDash. That food came pretty fast, I live in Brookland. Ordered the red curry with extra bamboo shoots and mixed veggies and tofu. Was very tasty not as spicy as others I've had in the past. I only wish they would have added more carrots. It was only two in there. Also got the vegetable gyoza fried not steamed. It was very beautiful in flavor. I didn't care for the sauce. I was expecting it to be a tab bit sweeter. It has a bitter after taste.

    Pineapple Fried Rice

This has got to be the worst pineapple fried rice I've ever had. The rice was mushy. It definitely wasn't made with old rice like fried rice should be. You can even see a ball of fresh rice clumped together in the photo. The pineapple chunks are obscenely large and the shrimp tasted bitter as if it was spoiled. This is my second time trying this place. Yuck. Also, why the random tomato?

What a delicious restaurant! If you love Thai/pan-Asian food, this is a great place for you right in the heart of Cleveland park only steps from the red line metro station. We started with the duck roll, which is perfectly crispy and served with a delicious sweet brown sauce. We also had the Angel eggplant, which was a total standout! The fried eggplant is sweet, savory, and crunchy all in one, perfect with the sauce and white rice. The minced chicken and fried tofu are wonderful additions. The Thai tea was strong and decadent too! Perfect ratio of tea to cream. The ambiance is fine--it's definitely a restaurant that caters more to takeout and delivery than dine in. For this reason, service can also be slow. But the food more than makes up for it. What a delicious treat on a nice fall afternoon!

    Yellow Curry with Chicken

Ordered from here last night on UberEats and we loved everything we ate. We had the duck rolls, glass noodle soup, drunken noodles with beef, and yellow curry with chicken. There are a lot of great Thai options around but we would be happy to order from here again or eat here in person.

I trusted all the good reviews. This food was utterly vile. Noodles that are completely congealed. No flavor, mushy broccoli. Wonton soup that cost nearly 9 dollars and was a couple old want ons with a ton of wilted cabbages. The new Bang Bang chicken dish was completely mushy and a very small bland portion. All

This place has been my go-to Thai spot since I moved back to the city. Their pad Thai is always delicious and so is their spring roll.

To stay…read moreby the side of our elderly dog, we are foregoing the experience of dining out, more and more. After we finished eating, she remarked we needed to visit the restaurant sometime. We'll have to look for an opportunity when we are around the dog all day, so she can be on her own for a couple of hours, likely sleeping. Birdsong already is acclaimed. This is much more Thai and Thai American. Like Chinese or Italian cuisine before it, Thai flavors have assimilated to a palate not accustomed to the true strength of the spices. Birdsong is a remedy. They do not offer the pad thai that has become a staple, no longer exotic but to its detriment. (A digression. The history of pad thai, with contested origins, is fascinating. As you delve into these matters, you see how syncretic culture is. You also are exposed to the efforts to fashion a unifying mythology.) We ordered the chicken, the shrimp, the crab fried rice, the papaya salad, and the enhancement. The chicken and the shrimp were quality ingredients, prepared well. Although both proteins were fried, they felt clean. The crab fried rice was one option of many with the rice base. The papaya salad was fresh. The enhancement was radish with "fermented daikon, garlic, red onion, cilantro, palm sugar, and fish sauce scrambled with eggs for a balanced savory and sweet flavor," and the portion was generous: we put it on the rice, then I finished it off in an omelet the next morning. We have traveled to Bangkok. Thai spiciness exceeds what I would endorse, and I love hot dishes. Birdsong was much milder, though with sufficient pepperiness my wife, who does not share my preferences, remarked it was closer to her limit. They will work with you in this respect, and I'm confident I could request something that would test my capabilities. That is, in my book, all positive. The dishes that were mild according to the menu, were mild, but they were flavorful. If you do not like fish sauce, for example, you may not appreciate the offerings, which if they don't have fish sauce have something along those lines. I hope Birdsong fares well.

I first reached out to the restaurant directly by email because I wanted to give management the opportunity to address my concerns privately, but unfortunately, I never received a response. On 7/22/26 at 7:20pm The restaurant was busy, which I completely understand. The problem wasn't the wait--it was the way I was treated. The employee working the front, Leah, repeatedly helped customers who came in after me while I stood there waiting to place my order and later to pick it up. A simple acknowledgment, like "I'll be right with you," would have made all the difference. I've never been treated this way at Songbird before. Every other employee I've encountered has always been friendly and professional, which is why this stood out so much. I hope management takes the time to speak with this employee so that no other customer has the same experience. I'd like to continue supporting this neighborhood restaurant because the food is excellent, but if this is the level of service I can expect going forward, unfortunately, this will be my last visit.

I noticed they had a Thai-style sukiyaki which isn't commonly found in most Thai restaurants I go to. I loved that this dish contained glass noodles, a wide variety of veggies, and a good portion of chicken. However, I didn't love the sukiyaki sauce, which was savory with some acidity. The sukiyaki had great ingredients, but not my ideal flavors. My friend got the Siam House Noodle with extra spice, which i didn't bother trying. He enjoyed it though. Overall, Siam House gives you a huge portion of food -- we both had enough for leftovers, and this is saying a lot for my friend who has a big appetite.

Noodles are clearly made in house and super chewy and delicious. We got the dolan cake for dessert and that was our favorite dish of the night so definitely save room for dessert! Definitely a 4/4.5 star place. I really wish the menus were on paper - you have to scan a QR code to look at everything which isn't my favorite. Also a random 3% fee was added to our bill (which I don't see disclosed on the online menu). Overall I'd go back for the food/takeout especially with a larger group!
