We decided to get solar and a backup battery installed in late 2021 to help reduce our electric costs and provide backup power for outages as we both work from home. It's been a few months since the installation was completed. Which was great timing for the current heat waves and power outages. We worked with Paragon from start to finish on our solar and battery system and they were outstanding. Paragons staff was attentive, built a system to our needs, and continued to provide service and support at a high level even months after our installation. For example, just a few days before the heat wave started a SoCal Edison tech came to upgrade our electric meter. During that process, he disconnected our battery system leaving us with no backup! After seeing what happened we called Paragon Sun for support and they had a technician out promptly! They got our system back up and running just in time as the next day power went out for our neighborhood. Fortunately for us, my wife and I were able to continue to work with our A/C running and had no interruptions to our power. I needed to replace an Enphase microinverter on my old (10+ years) PV system, but my original installer/maintainer had gone out of business. I called several other companies asking if they would take over as my system maintainer, but they would only work on systems they had installed themselves. In contrast, ParagonSun stepped in as my new maintainer and quickly installed a replacement mincroinverter that Enphase had already mailed to me under warranty. The installer, Marvin, arrived exactly on time and was very friendly and efficient. Probably because my system is so ancient, there was a glitch after the installation, but it was quickly resolved when I reported it. My contact at ParagonSun, Cori Larsen, was very knowledgable and exceptionally responsive, both before and after the invoice was paid. I contacted her a handful of times, and she replied quickly, by the end of the day (within the hour in a couple of cases). THE best customer service I've had from any company within memory. do not let them get you one of their tricks with Hero program, this program that they offer is from the government and they will put a lien on your property taxes and make you pay it thru your mortgage payment you will not be able to get reed of it so you are stuck until you sell your home or refinance for us our taxes went from about $2,400 a year to more the $10,000 and we still have to pay our electric Co about $$2,500 a year so we ended with an electric bill of about $600 a month now we used to pay around $150 a month for our normal electric bill before SOLAR PANELS I think this is a big Scam please don't go for their tactics we also had a fire on our home main electric box and because we had problems with the wiring since their installation, lights flickering , I called them and they want you to call your own home insurance or pay for someone to come and check it and won't take responsibility for the problem, they said they were gonna get in touch with the Company that sell them their products and check their warranty and to call our insurance, mean while we spent about 3 weeks in almost 105' weather without energy until our home insurance help us read more

We decided to get solar panels installed because of the rising cost of electricity and with NEM 3.0 looming in the near future. We contacted several companies. I explained to every company that our roof was pretty complicated with venting, layout, and slopes. Two companies flat out refuse to do the work. A one never called back and one company gave us a much higher price, with lower energy production. Mike and Cori from ParagonSun responded enthusiastically and was ready to accept the challenge. They had a drone map out the roof and took measurements. The plan was to maximize the roof space to get as many panels as possible. They sent over all documents required by the HOA, worked with the city to obtain permits, and helped assist with all the necessary paperwork to submit to SCE. This company did 95% of the leg work. The only thing I had to do was fill out forms, submit paperwork to my HOA, and nag them to approve it. Once everything was submitted and approved and the winter weather settled back down to typical SoCal weather, the install started. It took several day. The installers used my garage as a staging area. They cleaned my garage and the entire area around my house every night. Roof vents were changed, random broken tiles were replaced, service panel was upgraded, rails along with 17 solar panels, and combiner was all installed. The city inspection passed and we are now generating our own electricity. From start to finish, Cori's team did a fantastic job on a very complicated roof. In my previous review I stated that this company didn't honor their promise to issue a referral bonus. I was wrong. Turns out the salesperson at the time (an outside contractor who must have selling for more than one company) started our project with ParagonSun and after I researched that company, and agreed to get solar, he switched companies and never mentioned it to me. So ParagonSun had no obligation to pay anything. The owner of ParagonSun, Cori, contacted me and she couldn't have been nicer even offering me half of the referral fee which she didn't have to do. I really wish I had my solar installed by ParagonSun as she is clearly committed to providing the best service and will be there in the future should you need it. We learned about Paragon Sun from a friend's mention on Facebook, where she raved about her tiny Edison bill after installing solar. First off, let me say that Solar was never a consideration for our family since we are so energy conscious. However, we received a walk-up visit by Connor Craig one evening and he briefly informed me of the possibility of solar and made a follow-up appointment with my husband and I for the next day. We really didn't think it would end up being something we would be interested in; however, after some gathering of information on Connor's part, we quickly saw how beneficial it could be for us. Especially with the changes planned over the next two years with Southern California Edison. (Tiered and raised prices for energy usage during typical times of use). After deciding this was a plan we wanted to move forward with, it took very little time to set up the date of install, even with the holiday week approaching (Thanksgiving). The crew that came to do the install was very friendly and professional. The main install guy, Erik Larsen, was very informative and answered any and all questions my husband and I had. They were in and out in one day. The next day the inspector from the city came to check the install as well as a representative of Paragon Sun, Nick. Nick was very helpful as well by clearly explaining the system and the ins and outs of solar ownership.
