My favorite smoke shop! I've been here a few times and the employees are always so helpful and nice. I love the hippie vibes I get here haha. Their pricing is pretty reasonable too. If you're looking for a mouth piece, they have a large collection of affordable ones as well as some fancier ones. I have been meaning to get a vape pen for awhile now and finally decided to go for it. I picked this place based on the reviews and was not disappointed. It's a pretty big shop with lots of items. A girl (unfortunately I didn't get her name) asked if she could help me and I asked to get a vape pen for hookah. I knew nothing about vape pens at that point and she was really helpful in guiding me to what I wanted and how to piece it together. She also showed me how to use it and was able to answer all of my questions. Overall it was a great experience and the customer service was excellent. I got the parts, two replacement coils, and two bottles of e-liquid for a total of about 60 bucks - not too bad! I would definitely go here again. Side note: they play some pretty kickass metal that my husband was rocking out too while I was being helped. read more

This place has so much unique stuff, it's great! I especially love their collection of candles and incense. I also found some great quality hemp twine (I make hemp jewelry), for an awesome price that is hard to find in certain colors. I only wish they had a larger collection of twine.. Overall, a one-of-a-kind store. I use to live in the sacramento area for many, many years, and this store reminds me of a minature version of a store called "international imports" in citrus heights. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. I've been coming here for many years and it never ceases to impress me. They have a great selection of incense, knick knacks, and novelty tshirts. The location is good and has a parking lot, though the lot can be a little hard to maneuver in a big car. I tend to come later in the evening so the lot isn't too full. No biggie though considering what a great store this is. The workers have always been friendly and helpful which is a plus. Sounds silly, but it's nice that they have a bathroom that the public can use. They will let you try on clothes in there too. They are kid friendly. I've been bringing my teenager here since she was a young child and they have never frowned upon her coming in to look too. Mind you, we are NOT looking at the smoking section which is 18+. Some stores like this will not let you bring kids in even if you are just looking at the regular stuff. The prices are moderate depending on what you are looking for...some of the knick knacks seem a bit overpriced, but then again some I feel are priced quite well. Just depends on the item. Staff, merchandise and owner are all kick ass. I've been coming here for 15yrs. It's been getting better and better. I love the expansion on the metaphysical inventory. I constantly stock up on incense here. I love the abundant amount of band shirts, especially for the metal scene. Sometimes I come and hang out with some of the staff and talk about whatever. I love when the owner brings in her dog and sometimes there is a cat that hangs about. I love love love how the store smells because they burn incense in the shop. While it seems that even though it's kosher to have a store named 420 Smoke Shop in downtown San Jose, it seems that it is not kosher to simply say that Paramount Imports is A HEADSHOP. This place nickle and dimed me today. Their screeners are 5 for 25 cents. I ask the only Asian employee there for two dollars worth of the silver #4 screeners. If you do the math, that should be 40 screeners. I got home and decided to count them. I GOT 32! -_- Not cool. I was pissed for about 12 minutes. I have been here plenty of times and most of the times I've been here didn't really have any problems, but for this occasion I just had to write a review. Also, a couple months ago I came here again to buy screeners again. I ask the lady for one dollar worth of the same screeners. She gives me like five screeners and charges me 25 cents. Wtf? And just like a stoner after realizing her mistake she says, "Aw man, my bad!." It's your bad alright, did you not hear me?! But of course I didn't say that to her face. Conclusion, they need to learn how to count and learn the difference between a dollar and 25 cents worth of screeners. read more

This has to be one of the best head shops in the Bay Area, maybe even the entire state of California. I have been going to Paramount Imports for almost ten years now for just about everything whether it be for clothing, accessories, gifts, art and so much more. The staff here couldn't be more helpful and friendly. I always leave with a big ol' grin on my face. The employees there have been incredibly helpful and kind since I've been frequenting there for the past decade. Everyone I have had the pleasure to do business with were always friendly and knowledgeable about whatever they were selling. There's a fella named Tim there who is almost always there and ready to help you with whatever you need! I definitely try to get his opinion on whatever major purchase I make there. My most recent purchase was the Status electronic nail for roughly $130 and according to Tim it was the first one he sold so he gave me a two week return policy! However, I won't need to utilize it because it works like a charm but the fact that it was offered was incredible costumer service on their part. On top of a great selection of smoking accessories, they also happen to have some of the most excellent t-shirt collections the south bay has to offer and a wide variety of heavenly smelling incense. Great shop that has been here forever. For the size, you would expect more inventory, but it's nice. Lots of open floor space Lots on the walls to look at. Some clothing, incense, etc. Was hoping to get some Tibetan prayer flags, but they were $25 and I couldn't convince myself. Prices are great, as well. Employees are nice. paramount imports, a cool "tobacco" shop and other misc stuff. posters of your favorite artist. some really cool "fuck bush" shirts, tie dies, scarfs, fun hats and funny buttons. good selection of incense and holders. i'm sure this shop is keeping afloat from the sales of hand made "tobacco" pipes of different shapes, sizes and types. the "tobacco" pipe section takes up about 1/3 of the store. rest assured, this retired "tobacco" smoker was shopping for some incense but found a nice tank top, good incense, funny ass buttons and a few cool post cards. _____ note 1: they have an all in one fitting room and rest room for their customers. was actually great since i had to go really bad and needed to make sure the tank fit me right. if only the fitting/bath room smelt cleaner and the toilet seat stayed on the toilet. note 2: for the parking challenged, park on meridian. read more

First Of All i Had to Make An account Just for This!!!!.Wow This Place Straight up Pissed me Off . I called there Number asking "What your price ranges On Bongs ?" and they answered straight up " We Don't sell Bongs." And Hung Up. I used to bring my flannel wearing, ripped jeans having, skate board holding self here as a teen on the hunt for new blacklight posters, incense and rock tees with whatever coinage I had jingling around in my cargo pockets. The place still smells the way it always has and I love that the art on the outside always changes and supports local artists! The guy behind the counter when we went recently was SO cool! one day, i had an epiphany and knew exactly what to get my boyfriend for Christmas. a piece and grinder. so deciding on that, i asked for suggestions as to where should i go for such items, and my sister's boyfriend recommended Paramount Imports. I rarely smoke anything, therefore i am a noob at hobbies like these. So i had my sister and her boyfriend come with me to help decide what would be a perfect gift for my ever so lucky boyfriend. Arriving at the shop, it looked like a large wooden shack that sold anything beside smoke related items. so i take a gander at the pieces towards the back of the store, which are placed behind the counters. this required assistance from the workers to take the pieces from the shelves and transport it to the counter so we could play and touch with it. i had a girl who helped us in the beginning, she was nice and helpful at grabbing at all the pieces, but when i tried to ask for specifics, like "ok, im looking for a piece from $100 -$150, can you show me any in that price range?" she just shrugged and said "yeahhh, just pick whatever piece and i'll show you the price." with that said, i didn't need her service for awhile because i was looking and nothing really caught my attention. so about 10mins past, the girl vanishes and another guy (he kinda reminds me of a chilled smoked out santa claus) tries to help us. we tell him what we're looking for, like a percolator, diffuser and all that mumbo jumbo for under $200. he brings out pieces with what we're looking for. then i asked him "what would you suggest?" once he brought out his pick, i was in love with it. he goes on telling us why he likes it and what's good about it. the piece he choose had an ash catcher with an ice catcher, which keeps the piece itself clean, so no crazy clean ups. he also added that diffusers are harder to clean. and guess what!? it was in the price range ($150) i was looking for. a perfect piece for the perfect price. so i confirm the selection and tell him i would also like to purchase a grinder. he showed me various sizes and styles of grinders and explained the quality of the metal and what can do what. I finally pick a sharpstone grinder with a clear top. totally won me over with the clear top because you can see your goods grinding. lol he asked about bags, and i did take a look at it to see what price range it runs in and its features, but i settled on just the glass piece and the grinder. everything totaled at $199 and was happy that i stayed somewhat within budget. the guy rung me up, bubble wrapped the piece, and threw in a free lighter. score! i wish i got his name since he was so helpful! he said he was a comedian. so i suggest going to that guy, ASK FOR THE COMEDIAN! my sister and her boyfriend said he helped them the last time they were there and did a superb job at helping them too. read more

This was the 1st 'gift shop' I visited when I moved to SJ - and still the best in the S Bay, in my opinion. Very friendly staff, much wider selection than other similar stores in the area. Parking lot is kinda tricky -- you have to park diagonally & then test your maneuvering skills as you try to get back out the same way you came in. - Today I went in there to buy some detox stuff & their prices were $15 cheaper than 420Lifestyles in Campbell, and even cheaper than online stores. They also have home test kits for $10 cheaper than Walgreen's/Long's. Should've gone here first, I could've saved a ton of money. UPDATE: Hey here's a tip re: parking - Turn into the side street next to Diddum's or whatever that party supply place is called across the street; park on the side street & then walk (nay, RUN) across Meridian to the store. LOVE this shop! The workers here are so friendly and very patient as I take forever inspecting every single piece (very wide selection too!). Everything is reasonably priced and they always hook it up with little gifts like lighters or incense. The parking lot is weird, but I've always been able to find a spot so it's not a problem. A truly great shop and Santa Clara Valley landmark. It's hard to believe that I hadn't visited since the 1970s ! On this visit, two Paramount staffers helped me find the best cold water bong for my Vapir NO2 vaporizer; a real bargain at $30 out the door, including tax. The combination bong / vaporizer works just great with my herbs -- zero combustion and no bad taste when filtered through ice cold water. Please note that there's a fantastic assortment of custom glass, so there's no need to rely on overpriced crap from eBay ! Just bring in your vaporizer's plastic tubing and they'll help you find the correct bong and fittings, and carefully bubble-wrap your purchases.
