Occupying the former space held by Beard Papa located on Girard. Limited street parking and some private lots for a fee. The cafe has outdoor and indoor seating. Of the number of times I've visited, it was clean and I was cordially greeted. The staff have always been helpful and super nice. The display case showcases to die for desserts, macarons and gelato. Also offered are coffee, teas drinks, sandwiches and salads. Have only had pastry desserts and coffee drinks here and I must say, the ingredients includes french butter from Normandy and Swiss chocolate is evident in the taste. The owners are of French origin and incorporate their love for France in all their creations and one can tell...fait maison avec amour, which translates as made in house with love. I Like that fact they use stoneware and silverware and bring your order to your table with a genuine smile. My pup Fendi is very picky about everything but she loves the macarons here. I stopped by Parfait with a close friend when visiting San Diego. The service was on point. I had a ton of questions that were all addressed by their staff in addition to great recommendations. I ended up getting the Nutella Croissant Roll and the French Pudding. The French Pudding was amazing. Their French Pudding is made of croissant dough and filled with cinnamon, pecan and caramel with chocolate on top. It was top 5 pastry I've ever had. Nice-looking spot. Clean, quiet, and had potential. We ordered three desserts and two Americanos, came out to just over $47. The pudding was decent. Crème brûlée had no flavor. The gelatin-based dessert didn't sit well with either of us, both felt a little nauseous afterward. Service is where it really fell short. We were halfway through the pudding and still waiting on our coffees(black) while other people who ordered after us got theirs right away. I asked about it, and the barista just said "let me go make it," with a tone that made it seem like I was the problem. No apology, no explanation. Just attitude. The cashier brought the drinks over and apologized, but by then it already felt intentional. It wasn't even busy. The coffee itself was way too intense. I've had strong brews before, but this one completely overloaded me. Couldn't finish it. Normally I leave a tip after getting service, especially at places where you pay up front. But this time, the way everything played out made it hard to justify. If the service was better, I could've overlooked the average desserts.
