I believe this corner suite at The Shops at La Jolla Village used to be the home of a cellular phone carrier. An upscale gelato shop, Bacio Di Latte, is now the current tenant despite the fact that a popular ice cream shop was just around the bend in the same part of the plaza. The chain has become a rapidly expanding business with two locations in SD County and several more throughout the Southern California region. For a frozen dessert place, they did have quite a bit of seating with about a dozen small round tables scattered across the room. Nearly two dozen gelato flavors were on display next to the service counter. You could request taste samples as I did during my visit. Some cookies and other baked goods were also displayed in a case next to the register. Three gelato serving sizes were available along with three different kinds of vessels (cup, waffle cone, sugar cone). You could request split flavors within each serving size which was what I did. The Blueberry & Ricotta was a new flavor so I chose that and the Strawberry Cheesecake for my small (piccolo) cup. Both fruits were quite sweet as expected while the gelato base was smooth and creamy. The prices were a bit higher and the portions were smaller than what you can get from local ice cream shops. I guess at the end of the day, you're paying a premium for a premium product.

BEST GELATO IN SD! I have yet to visit Europe, but I'm assuming Bacio Di Latte is as authentic as it gets. Sooo many great flavors and the opportunity to sample them. I tried the pistachio chocolate crunch, pistachio, torta paradiso, bacio di latte, blueberry ricotta, and tiramisu. The flavor and texture of each are top tier. I got 2 flavors in a cone that was dipped in pistachio cream (aka liquid-ish gold). 10/10! Also tried the oatmeal lace cookie with maple cream. Definitely coming back!

I was really excited to see a new gelato shop open in this plaza and the store is really aesthetic, but unfortunately the gelato was just alright imo. I really like hazelnut, and I got 2 hazelnut flavors so the taste itself was pretty yummy, but the issue was that the gelato was wayyyy too melted even right when it was served. I wish it was a lot more frozen. Also it is really pricey for the small portion size. The small was almost $10 :/ Also, if you get a waffle cone, you can only get 1 flavor in the small versus 2 in a cup. Nice to try for the first time tho, and they let you sample the flavors!

Been wanting to try this gelato place and all I can say is it's so good! Their gelato was very sweet and flavorful and I ordered the iced cappuccino and it was perfect match with it! I can't wait to be back and try other flavors Service was very good too :)

Came here cuz the storefront looked so cutsie. Wasn't expecting much but all the flavors I had were pretty good. The service was perfect and helpful. Feels like a chill vibe the time I went. I passed by one time and it was packed.

Crowded even at 9pm . Very friendly staff even though there's a crowd and the line moves fast. It smells so good in here, lots of seating inside and outside. Ice cream is on the melty side, I really like the crunch in the ice cream being distributed evenly as they scoop

Yum! Loved this new spot! Sampled the chocolate chip, mint chip and lastly carmel with peanut butter and chocolate. Mmmmmm, all so good! I decided on the small with mint and peanut butter/carmel/chocolate. Loved the latter!!! The taste and texture, amazing!! My mom paid but it was slightly expensive but worth it! The staff was very kind, the place was very clean and has a restroom and there was a good amount of people there coming in and out.

Many ice cream and gelato spots have opened up in the area over the last five years but Bacio Di Latte is a pleasant addition. The double scoop and cone were worth it as they really packed it on there. There's many flavors to choose from so there's something for everyone.

Ugh this place is so good. Get the belga gelato . It's like a party in the mouth. Cute location. Fast service.

This cutesy gelato shop is one of a kind. It offers unique flavors that I haven't seen elsewhere. When you're inside, it has a warm, charming and inviting atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They offer you samples to help you make your selections. I was blown away by the high-quality fresh ingredients of my Liana's Shortcake...sooo deliciously rich and creamy yet crunchy. Mmmmm!! Oooh yeah, I will definitely be back. Highly recommend it to the Yelp Community! Enjoy your gelato :-)

This is my third location of Bacio Di Latte that I visited throughout California. And I can tell you that there is quality consistency from one location to the next. Each location offers a solid experience with great staff and a high-quality product that you will be glad that you stopped in for. The gelato is so fresh, as its made daily. And the choices are plentiful and all of them sound so yummy that its hard to just pick one- thus make sure you sample to truly get appreciation of the array of flavors that they offer. The ambiance is light and bright! The shop is super clean and well organized to provide a good flow in around the shop. This location has only been opened for a month, so if you need a bit of sweetness, come out and try. There is a big parking lot in front but during the holidays the area can be quite busy.

They had really good service. I think the staff was very patient in letting us test out a few gelato. I ended up gettting pistachio dipped waffle cone with salted caramel and pistachio gelato. My partner got hazelnut and coffee one. The gelato was good but my only complaint is that it melt so fast. It started dripping when they hand it to me. It's been awhile since I got gelato so this hit the spot. The pistachio cream that they dipped the waffle cone with is pretty delicious. Place seems pretty popular with a constant inflow of customers. I'm glad they were open late.

It is known for their delicious natural gelato as well as offering dairy free and vegan gelato. When we arrive, the line was all the way down the street and it was a very hot 85° day on La Jolla Cove. Even with the ocean breeze, it was a baking day. By the time we got to the line after finding parking, which was very packed, but bearable, the line had died down to about 15 people. I appreciated that while we were in line they had a nice young lady outside giving samples of the featured flavor called sunrise, which was delicious. It was like orange pineapple, and it was really good. One of the gelato servers came out to the line and got us from the middle back of the line and said he would be ready to serve us and so we took that as a really good excellent customer service practice. He could tell that the others in front of us we're going to get served shortly by his counterparts within the store so he grabbed the people near the back of the line to get us to get our gelato sooner. The four of us each chose what we wanted and I will tell you that the flavors were absolutely delicious. I chose the non dairy / vegan Coconut Coffee Flavor Gelato, and also another flavor. It was AMAZINGLY creamy and the waffle cone was perfectly sweet! Everyone enjoyed their gelato and we really appreciated this place. Apparently they are comparable to authentic Italian gelato...like, in Italy! Overall, I highly recommend this place. This month's theme was their pie series, and I tried the Peaches & Cream Galette. It was rich, creamy, and loaded with real peach pieces. It honestly tasted just like peach cobbler in ice cream form! Their monthly May flower series right now focuses on floral flavors and using flowers as actual flavor profiles instead of just decoration, which sounded really interesting in theory. The seasonal lineup included flavors like Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella, Strawberry Tres Leches, Rhubarb Crumble with Toasted Anise, Saffron Milk with Wildflower Honey, and Coffee Chamomile Sherbet. Very spring coded. I sampled the Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella first because on paper that flavor combination sounds PERFECT to me. I love jasmine milk tea, I love almond flavors, and stracciatella is usually my go-to if I'm getting gelato. But honestly? It fell kind of flat. Nothing about it really stood out and the flavors just didn't hit the way I expected them to. I ended up getting the Strawberry Tres Leches instead which was definitely better. It leaned really heavily into the strawberry flavor and then the tres leches flavor slowly comes through after. We also tried the Taco Bell collab "tacolate" inspired dessert that came with mango jalapeño and wild berry cinnamon sauce packets on the side. Honestly... the sauces didn't really do much for me. The actual taco itself was okay. It's basically cinnamon ice cream packed into a waffle cone taco shell that's dipped in dark chocolate and puffed quinoa. Cool concept but it didn't really wow me flavor wise. The Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough was probably the strongest thing we tried. Definitely saltier than your average cookie dough ice cream, but in a good way. You could really taste the malted fudge flavor and it gave everything this deeper almost umami-like richness that worked really well with the cookie dough pieces. I do appreciate how creative Salt & Straw is because nowhere else is really doing flavors like this, but overall nothing completely blew me away this visit. Everything was good, just not life changing the way the hype sometimes makes it seem.

Ambience 9/10 Lunar New Year Croissant Described as a croissant filled with sesame and almond paste, this is a good but not great croissant. It has the layers, it has the chew, but it's no better than a croissant you would get at a number of other bakeries in the area. But those other bakeries are charging $4-7 instead of $10! The almond and sesame flavors were both very subtle and make me believe there is just a very minimal amount used in the recipe. Would not recommend even as a chewy over crispy croissant guy. 5/10 Creme brûlée latte Pretty much what I wanted without description. Creamy, noticeable but not overpowering vanilla flavor, and a lovely burnt topping for bitter balance. The coffee still comes through meaning this is a well crafted latte, not a dessert. This one actually comes at a pretty decent price too. 8/10 Yuzu & lime tart Their take on meringue pie is composed of a graham crust, yuzu mousse, and a meringue topper with a circle of lemon curd gel. To my taste, there is too much sweet on this plate, needing some balance of tart. But the textures of each component were on point: fluffy meringue, thick lemon gel, dense crust, and substantial yet airy mousse. Torching the meringue at home added a bitter element which I think made the sweetness more palatable. Would have liked the citrus to be more present. 5/10. All in all I would choose other sweets shops at most shopping centers than return here but for drinks this is a pretty good option.
