I loved this cake so so much! Thank you Frinneth and Lily for being so sweet and helpful. Bought a red velvet cake with dairy-free icing because one of my friends is lactose intolerant. The cake still uses dairy, but my friend was more cautious of the original cream cheese icing. This cake tasted amazing with this substitute, and I can't wait to try the original cream cheese icing one day! I am also interested in exploring any of their cheesecakes, as I am a cheesecake enjoyer. The red velvet cake's texture was sort of bouncy, which I enjoyed. I went back for another slice. It's really lovely in here! The outside is nondescript and the private parking lot is tiny (only space for 4 or 5 cars). But the inside is very cutely decorated and in great condition. There are 4 small tables and one bigger bench table. We split a blueberry scone (~$8). It was really big, delicious, and soft. Not dry at all, which I'm usually worried about for scones. They have a free self-serve water pitcher. They also sell bags of "day-olds" that are a better deal -- a mixed bag of 3 scones or croissants for $7.50. I always want to support local businesses so it pains me to downgrade this rating but the place has changed ownership and the entire atmosphere and quality is not the same. The place has become a kitchen used by many other bakeries so it seems they are focused on that aspect of the business. The croissants are not the same as they were with the previous owners. I went there one morning shortly after opening and the coffee was lukewarm and tasted terrible, I think they must have reheated the coffee leftover from the day before. First off, I never leave bad reviews ever this is my first but it was awful and this place should close. We came here today to get a bite in between dr appointments, but what a disgusting experience. Save your money and time , do not eat here! It was my 4th time into the place, usually I only have a coffee and maybe a pastry. Today I ordered their "breakfast special" - egg "frittata" green salad, toast and "jam" and 3 pieces of bacon. Plus 2 coffees and my partner order the breakfast sandwich; it was all gross. If I hadn't prepaid I would have left, as once I sat down I realized how gross the place looks now. About 5 minutes after ordering (no one else came in) she comes to say they are out of bacon and asked if I wanted more eggs or salad instead... I said eggs but there were not any extra on the plate when served. The counter person apparently was also the cook, though we saw another person there, and he did have a chef apron on (a lot cleaner than hers which I did not see at first). We expected the drinks but they never arrived. When she finally emerged from the kitchen, she had our food plates in hand and placed them on the counter for 10 minutes while she then started to prepare the coffees, a cap and a latte. By the time she brought us everything the food was lukewarm at best and the coffee too hot, )I asked for warm not too hot). The toasted bread was ok, but the "jam" was literally a danish filling goop, not made from any fruit and tasted between a jello and a kool aide type flavor, just gross. The dining area was all filthy and we were there with one other customer finishing a danish and coffee. She could have cleaned, but never left behind the counter beyond dropping off our food. This place is over priced, dirty, untrained staff and disgusting, I'm pretty sure the eggs were from a container not fresh and only two small grated pieces of carrot, not a frittata.... Anyone can make better eggs. Last time I was there 6 months ago, it was at least acceptable coffee but this was awful. Two coffees, a breakfast special and a breakfast sandwich with a 15% tip was $53.50, and again, had I not already paid, I would have left. Do not ever eat here. Dirty, rude, and gross. Actual rating is 3.5 rounded up to a 4. We bought two items, an almond croissant and a oatmeal raspberry bar. The croissant bread itself tasted good, but I bought this for the almond paste. There was a small bit of it in comparison to the size of the croissant, AND it lacked flavor. My husband gave the oatmeal raspberry bar a 6 out of 10. The crumb topping was great, there was not enough raspberry jam, and the majority of the bar, the bottom crust had an almost chalky consistency. Cute cafe with a thoughtful and unique menu in Willow Glen. Perfect for grabbing some quick and healthy eats. The worker or owner(?) is very friendly. The atmosphere was chill, and definitely Paris style, almost felt like I was not in the south bay anymore, staring at the oil paint and the crystal chandelier. Paris Avenue does not have good coffee beans. Nor does it have trained baristas. Do not order a cappuccino. You can get better cappuccino from a vending machine. The previous owner was on-site a lot and prepared to-go items in white bakery boxes tied by a ribbon. The current workers -- kids -- use plastic boxes. No ribbon. For the gourmet prices Paris Avenue charges, it needs to provide a gourmet experience. read more

The establishment is a small, stand-alone building, with a small parking lot. Yet, I was able to find a parking spot. (I visited on a Sunday morning about 9:30am.) I came in looking to purchase a cake for a friend's birthday. The owner, who had a very professional air about him, helped answer some questions and I ultimately purchased the Apple Tart, which was beautiful! It was wrapped promptly and I was out the door quickly. The staff was very courteous. All of my friends who saw and ate the tart were wowed. I went in there picking up an order and got distracted by all the delicious looking treats in the glass case. To be honest this area can be a bit sketchy when it comes to service (POC know what I mean). Kevin, the guy at the register was super friendly and informative. He could recommend some different things depending on my preference. He suggested the mango cake and said I could mention him by name, if I didn't like it. Well I'm mentioning him anyways just because he was a really nice guy and deserves to be recognized for his service. His service directly lead to the sale and that goes to show your attitude and approach is everything. This little cafe and bakery with a French flare just off of downtown Willow Glen is a perfect morning getaway for a coffee, French pastry or a slice of delicious cake. I enjoy sitting at one of the French style tables next to the bay windows, sometimes bringing my laptop and working from here while sipping a coffee. Their regular mocha here is a nice treat, but I recommend getting two shots of espresso. One of the treats I prefer from this place is their peanut butter cookie warmed up. Though they also have great croissants. The selection of cakes here is fabulous, a lot of care is put into making them very presentable and tempting to the eyes. Their apple cake is fantastic as well as their macaron chocolate cake. The baker is always very passionate about the cakes and we'll go into a lot of detail about the providence of the ingredients and the techniques she uses to make them. I've been looking forward to trying Paris Avenue since the former business closed up shop in the same location. I love a patisserie, but there aren't any legit patisseries close enough to me without having to make a trek. I'm glad that this place lived up to my expectations. I also appreciated that they offered savory items on the menu! At some point the former business stopped making savory items, but I think it was due to the pandemic. Anyway, I'll be back to try their sandwiches and vegetarian quiches. Customer service was totally fine. Staff was friendly and efficient. I was in and out of the café without any issues. I got a slice of basque cheesecake and little cakes of opera and raspberry chocolate. I will say that it wasn't as burnt at the top compared to basque cheesecakes I've seen or had. But I couldn't tell you how good it was, because I bought the slice for my mom. The other two cakes were delightful. The opera cake had a robust coffee flavor. Paris Avenue's raspberry chocolate cake honestly did not make me miss "Ravishing Raspberry," which the former business sold. It wasn't busy when I stopped by at 3pm on a Saturday; sadly for me, they were sold out of all of their pastries by then. I appreciated they didn't use raisins in their recipe, and I liked the bits of pineapple throughout the cake. Prices are on the higher side, but the ingredients seemed quality, and my slice of carrot cake was very fresh. Their staff was very friendly and helpful. TLDR: Average pastries and cookies. I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this place. I have always have a desire to support the mom-n-pop places. It's just something about the little guy, that I want to support. Just like Jerry with Babu's cafe. We (wife and I) got a $5 chocolate chip cookie, a chocolate swiss roll (I forget the official name), and a chocolate croissant. I'm a sucker for BIG chocolate cookies. I HATE Chips Ahoy and the Safeway chocolate cookies. I like them slightly crunchy on the outside, and gooey/chewy in the middle. I especially like them made with brown sugar, so it has a darker appearance. This was not one of my favorites. After taking several bites of the strangely pale cookie, I finally recognize the taste. It was like eating a sugar cookie, with chips on it. It has that sugar cookie taste, and the chips were not melted or anything. I wouldn't buy it again. My wife's swiss roll wasn't bad. The sponge was good and had good flavor. The filling was creamy. However the ganache was very thick and hard. I'm not sure it's worth the $7. Finally the chocolate croissant lacked the crispiness of a French croissant. It had more the same consistency as like a Jack-in-the-Box croissant. From our hours of binging on The Great British Bake-off, we would say confidently, there wasn't enough FOLDS in the croissant. There's a REALLY good croissant place in Los Gatos... I forget the name though. In THAT one, you could see each laminated layer in the croissant, so beautiful. Going back to this one, there wasn't a bar of chocolate inside either, it was just some unmelted chips... probably the same chips as in the chocolate chip sugar cookie. It was a disappointment all around. Not even the friendly service could save this place from 3 stars. Which was too bad... I SOOO wanted to give this place 4!! read more

This quaint little shop is everything. I feel humble and whole when I visit Paris avenue. The sandwiches are very good here as well as the cakes. I've gotten a salad here as well and it is descent. I placed an order through Yelp/Grubhub the night before for a Guava cake. Did not receive a confirmation cause the bakery was closed. Yelp said I would receive one once the bakery opened but I didn't. I called the morning of and found that the order never went through. The lady over the phone was so kind to take my order over the phone. When I arrived, parking was little to none. I parked right next to the bakery with 1/4 of my car in the red. Luckily they weren't too busy and I was able to run in and out. The cake was for my sister's engagement party. It was delicious nothing was left, not even the pretty little lace chocolates they decorated on the cake. Parking is a bit tight esp if you're not familiar with the area.
