This is one of my favorite pastry places because they have unique Asian flair cakes and other delicious goods. Their pastries are fairly reasonably priced, and I mean where else would you find such amazing tasting taro twists or garlic puffs in Glendale? And their mini cakes are gorgeous! Greeting 101 is so important when you are dealing with the public. A simple hi or good morning does more good than bad. Anyway, the croissant dough is delish in the fruit pastry, banana croissant and Danish cream cheese. The ham and cheese croissant is very dainty since I'm so used to the bigger quantity at the donut stores. The custard and whip cream was magnificent in the fruit pastry and cream puff. Visit on 2-18-2020 I used to come to this location very often many years ago but now that I moved to Pasadena area, its been almost 3 years since my last visit. We went in around 7:30pm and picked up 2 orange juice, coffee, and ice latte (with 2 slice cake, 3-4 pastries) after dinner. The lady at the cashier made an error and took forever to charge us. This is totally fine because we all do make mistakes. She explained us and re-did the whole transaction again like twice. Few mins later, another lady came to our table and told us that we signed in the wrong credit card receipt. Ok.....Still understandable. However, No apologize or nothing. She was not friendly at all. We were pretty shock with her attitude. (We all mentioned about her when got in the car,lol) After 30min later, they announce that they are closing at 8:30pm (we checked yelp before going in and it was 9pm). Aside from the bad customer service, I bought a cake for a friends birthday on 3/21/2020, Blueberry Chiffon Cake, and after putting my fork through a slice, I noticed a black strip in the cream. As I pulled my fork away, it was a hair inside the cream. Photos attached. So, I was iffy about coming here since it's franchised, but I'm so glad I did! I bought a large cafe latte, chocolate croissant, and chocolate turn over and brought it to where I was staying. I came here again today around 12:15 and they had a bigger selection than my usual late night ventures here. I got my favourites as usual, the choux cream and cheese souffle. I decided to also try the blueberry and cream cheese pastry, but it's sitting in the box now as I'm limiting myself to just two pasties a day. I did however order their drink for the first time. They don't have green tea frappes like Starbucks. They looked at me like I was crazy. We don't sell green tea frappucinos here, how about a latte? I didn't mind too much. I just like my green tea. So I got their latte as suggested, and I'm glad I did. I didn't have to adjust the sweetness amount like I usually do, and it was just the right amount of sugar and milk and green tea flavor. More milky than tea though, so if you like the stronger matcha flavor, you'd have to request that. My husband decided to get a few things today (shocking!) and picked up the cheddar potato ball, raisin pastry, and the cream cheese donut. I had a bit of the outer shell of the cheddar potato ball and liked the flavor. It would taste better warm, but it was still crispy at room temperature. My husband preferred the cream cheese donut, though. I didn't steal a bite from that so I can't comment on the taste. The workers were very friendly, and their Christmas cakes are absolutely gorgeous!! They're pretty pricey at over $30 a cake (pretty small size) but so pretty and have many different flavors. There's sweet potato cake, matcha chiffon, chocolate, tiramisu, blueberry, and cheesecake, too. You get a free lunch bag for ordering the cake. The lunch bags look cute. The problem is that this location keeps losing products. I never know what they are going to no longer carry, or be out of at this location. There used to be pre-made sandwiches in the fridge-- no more. There used to be custard/yogurt type cold desserts by the register. No more. There used to be loaves of bread choices. No bread now. This morning I was there at 8am, and they only had about 5 selections. Of those selections, I got 3. Only the cinnamon egg custard tart was good. I happened to stumble upon this place accidentally, and went in out of of curiosity. The pastries caught my eye, and I picked up a few. I ended up getting a croissant donut with cream and strawberries on top, a cheese tart, and a croque-monsieur (which I asked to be warmed up). All three pastries were of excellent quality. I honestly regretted not buying more. But while they were all amazing, the croissant donut really stood out to me. It was light and fluffy on the inside, with a perfectly crispy outside. I want to preface this review with the acknowledgement that Paris Baguette pastries + cakes are some of the most delicious gems. No other cake can compare to their blueberry chiffon cake for me and they normally have an excellent selection of varieties to choose from that are all equally delicious and of consistent quality. However, customer service is..... extremely lacking and inconsistent. It's my dad's birthday today and of course we wanted to get him the best cake there is, so my mom called them last night to place an order and paid beforehand on the phone. The woman who took down her credit card information told her that she accidentally charged her twice but that ultimately, only one charge should show up on her bank account. Well obviously, when I showed up today to pick up the cake (mom was in the car with a migraine so my sense of urgency was definitely more sensitive), I was expecting a receipt or some kind of paperwork that would reassure me that they, on their end, had some record of this mishap and would be able to refer back to it in case we had to revisit the mistake in the future. But no. Instead, two ladies who clearly had no idea what they were doing were behind the counter. One was able to find the cake and bring it to me but when I asked for a receipt, they were flustered and unable to work the computer/register. I stood there, as the line steadily grew, as they + the owner(?) tried to fumble around and get all the details of what happened and ultimately they told me to come back on Tuesday because the manager would be in on that day. Obviously this is not the answer anyone wants to get when they just want a damn receipt to prove that they made the purchase in case they need to follow up with the bank and/or store. Secondly, my mom explicitly requested special writing to be on the cake. They even told her that the two sentences she wanted were too long so she only opted to go with the traditional "happy birthday". I even saw the notes that the individual took down while she was on the phone with my mom and the happy birthday was there. But the actual cake?? No writing to be found. Just the usual "Paris Baguette" on a white chocolate chip, nothing to show that this was purchased for my dad. Icing on top of the cake (ha!). Clearly, this place has a serious lack of communication between shifts and no one really cares about what customers want on their cakes. So yeah, lessons to take away from this: don't pay over the phone because someone might charge you twice and then never give you the receipt. If you have a free pastry reward on their app, they don't let you get any pastries with fruit with it. read more

But I digress... You know how you've been promising yourself that ultra-self-indulgent Parisian getaway someday, to live out your James Bond/Holly Golightly jetsetting fantasy? Well, Paris Baguette is... -- nothing like Paris. Nothing at all. For one thing, the employees are absolutely wonderful -- so polite, patient (you'll find yourself quite the indecisive spendthrift once it's your turn to choose pastries behind the glass case), and they don't speak any French. I do believe they are fluent in Korean, English, and I sense they have a working grasp of Spanish, too -- at least their answer to "Do you mind if I pay all in nickels?" is NO. (Which I gather is the same in Spanish, English, AND French, so they are probably friends of de Gaulle after all) Selection is sweet, savory, and, in terms of coffee, self-serve and espresso-bitter. Thankfully you can sweeten the 'spresso with sugar, milk, and creamer so that sleep will be the last thing on your mind during finals week. What WILL be on your mind is the utterly yumgasmic assortment of fruit tarts, filled pastries, cakes, buns (*snicker*), cookies, drinks, and boxed edible gifts (for those times when you're just so self-centered you've forgotten a good friend's milestone). "Congratulations, beautiful -- who could have ever dreamed a thousand hours of community service would just fly by?" Aside from the cakes behind the case (like cheaper, more delicious Marc Jacobs sunglasses) that the employee must pack for you as you point and stare like your mother warned you never to do, most of the baked goods are self-serve and grab-able with store-supplied tongs. Warning -- do not have a play sword fight with the tongs, or they will be confiscated and the remainder of your selections will have to be made with your bare hands, toddler style. Paris Baguette is an attractive, cozy store and can even serve as a meeting spot for that discreet third or fourth date when lobster and an orchestra aren't necessary anymore, because you already know each other -- inside, and out. Prices are low -- bring five bucks, come out five pounds heavier. Take from that, what you will. read more

it's always a pleasant visit when I come by "Paris"... good for a casual lunch or afternoon snack. it keeps me away from the greasy food court at this mall and also takes care of my bakery fix. i've enjoyed their PIZZA on a baguette, it comes with a soda. reasonable lunch option. not spectacular, but it's satisfying. their pre-packaged sammies are also decent. however, don't care too much for any of those pasties with hotdog, nor their other savory pastries. i do love their CASTELLA, especially in matcha, MILK SOUFFLE, CHESTNUT TART... the TIRAMISU PASTRY is alright (i expected more cream and sweetness, seems like it was all about the espresso/coco powder). i also enjoy any of their baked goods that are filled with MOCHI, and many of their SWEET POTATO pastries. their ORGANIC COFFEE is always brewed perfectly to my liking. it's a med-dark roast, and is never bitter or sour. my girls enjoy their signature ICED COFFEE, which is blended with cream and sweetener. the staff is friendly and this location is never too crowded. glad to have them in the SGV! read more

The parking situation is good, though some of the spots are a little tight. I went into the shop and it was a little cramped. When I walked in I got some stares from the workers. I don't know if they do that to everyone or just me but it felt really uncomfortable. I kept walking around and everything looked and smelled so delicious. I settled with the cronut filled with custard. When I bur into it, it felt like heaven. It with flaky, crispy, and cremey. It was the perfect mix!!!! I also got the creme puff which was only 50 cents!!!! I devoured it in one bite. It just melts in your mouth. It was just sweet enough that it wasn't too overwhelming. I bought the sweet potato soft cake to go. It has a good aroma and very soft. But the taste wasn't much to my liking. I was able to eat about 1/4 of it. We liked their location in Koreantown but didn't want to drive that far so we were very thrilled to discover that they have a branch in Glendale. Service is excellent.
