This Paris Baguette location opened up not that long ago and we've been here 3 times. We like to snack :). Timing is crucial here. If you get something that is freshly made, it's usually delicious. Our first trip here was in the evening. It wasn't too busy and everything was good. We picked out a plain croissant and a garlic sausage in pastry which they heated up for us and we also had a chocolate croissant, and a cafe mocha. We were very happy with the pastries even though our mocha took a while. We were surprised the croissant was so good. Our second visit in the evening, about 7:15, we ordered an Americano and it was more watery than we are use to and took a while. Just know their coffee drinks take quite a few minutes and sometimes a few more minutes. We had a croissant, cheese croissant, and a blueberry cream cheese pastry. They seemed a bit stale. Our third trip, in the morning, we had the garlic sausage in a pastry, a hot dog pastry, I don't remember the name, a ham and cheese croquette, a ham and cheese croissant, and a cafe mocha. They heated everything for us. We would really recommend the garlic sausage in a pastry. The ham and cheese croissant is good. We probably would not order the hot dog or the ham and cheese croquette. They were just okay. The place is new and clean. They have a water dispenser and cups. There was plenty of seating when we went in. On the left hand side, grab a tray, put on a sheet of parchment, and grab a pair of tongs. Use the tongs and pick up what looks good. They have a case with juice near the end and a sandwich case, drink list, two cashier stations, and a cake case. It can be a hit and miss, but it's casual, comfortable, and we just like each other's company, and this is a great place to get a snack. read more

Had a strange and sudden craving for Japanese cheesecake so did a quick search on Yelp since the last time I had some was while vacationing in Japan 3 years ago. The top result I got was Uncle Tetsu at ValleyFair mall. Not wanting to drive that far and get in a long line indoors, I looked on DoorDash for alternatives and found them at Paris Baguette, labeled as Heavenly Cheesecake. This was a surprise find as I've frequented PB a handful of times (usually the Santa Clara location) but never noticed before that they carried Japanese cheesecake! I made the mistake of shopping last minute on Mother's Day, and every other bakery was either packed or out of cakes in downtown Mountain View. No worries, I walked into Paris Baguette, and found plenty of cakes available (should have been warning #1), and I got in line to place my order. The cashiers were busy, but I also saw three cashiers and staff members eating strawberries behind the cake counter (warning #2, for all my fellow shoppers who got a Mother's Day cake, you may want to check your strawberry count, or lack there of). When it was my turn to order, there were no cashiers behind the counter. After waiting and looking around for a while, one of the strawberry-eating staff came to take my order. She was not focused as she was still chewing on the fruit. I placed my order and she promptly turned around and walked away, leaving the order ticket sticking out of the printer. Once again, long wait with nothing happening. Finally someone came to check and asked "Have you been helped", I replied "I don't know, have I?" Not trying to be cheeky, but I honestly don't know if I have been helped or am I all set. The second staff took the order ticket and went to the back to find out what's going on. Finally, my Mother's Day cake appeared after many long waits, and with no apologies or "thank you for your order", I walked out feeling like I was in a Twilight Zone. Stopped by Paris Baguette on my break to pick up a few pastries. While browsing the selection with my friends and discussing what to get I was told by the server, Leman Y. to stop talking otherwise we would have to leave. My friends and I weren't loud or rude as we just wanted to pick up a few treats. With Leman Y. comment I had asked for the manager to address the rude customer service. The manager who spoke very bad broken English of course sided with his employee and didn't remedy the situation or apologize for the rudeness. As I'm writing this review it seems like its not the first time that this location has very bad service, I've been to other locations where customers are greeted in a friendly manner and are offered suggestions on daily baked goods. Came to Paris Baguette after my hair appointment down the street. I've been to a few different locations all around the Bay Area and will say that this particular location keeps things in stock. From cakes, tarts, stuffed pastries and more, everyone has the option of just grabbing a tray, loading it up, and pay at the counter. The concept is really that simple. Another plus are the prices. You can get a box of goodies for less than $15! I don't really get sweet cravings but I do like to enjoy a latte with a hot dog croissant once in a while. So glad Paris Baguette opened up shop in downtown Mountain View on Castro St. PB offers an affordable asian bakery that has amazing egg tarts, pastries, and cakes. Maison Alyzee is my favorite if price was not a consideration; however, since it usually is in larger parties, Paris Baguette provides a great alternative that is also open later (and a little less pretentious). :). Yes, PB is a chain, but this place has a nice indoor and outdoor seating and an amazing location on the main drag of downtown MV. 7:45am Monday morning visit ended up walking out as seeing pretty much the entire racks were empty. Bakery chef said that they were too busy for a large order so no time to put freshly baked products on the rack. Although she offered to get whatever I wanted from the back, I couldn't really tell what were available in the back. A little bumped out to see the bakery opened but only focused on serving one order, even it was a LARGE order, instead of for walk-in customers. Probably won't go back to this one.... Paris Baguette never disappoints. Had a meeting with my manager to discuss business at this location. Found a nice table by the entrance. Grabbed a quick snack (Peanut butter cookie) and a medium black coffee. He ordered a salad and iced latte. We both enjoyed our meal and beverages. Bakery had a lot of selection and the place was well maintained. It was tough to find parking as the road was closed off due to some activities over the weekend. I don't give 5 stars because it lacks the cozyness I expect from a coffee shop, but that is pretty much happening in all the Paris Baguettes I have been to. I had a wonderful experience at this location. Superb service from Katrina and Ruby! I ordered online and was nervous about a tight pickup and setup time. My order was scheduled for pickup at 7:30 but I arrived early and it was ready and packaged perfectly. They even helped me take the big order to my car. I will tell others for sure! read more

Everything is pretty solid. They also had self-service ice water. The AC was running and it was pretty cold inside, which was nice on the hot/warm night. Other favorites are the sweet potato cake, which you generally need to order ahead of time, and the cheesecake (more Japanese in style compared to American cheesecake). Idk what happened I used to love this place but my experience today was so lackluster I had to write a review. I went in a bought a cronut and a peanut butter cookie, when I smiled and said hi to the cashier he just looked at me and said "is that it?" I said yes and paid and went on my way without a word it was so awkward and uncomfortable but whatever I got my cronut. I wasn't going to write a review about that because I get that people have off days. My cronut was so gross it changed my mind on writing a review, it was 90% cream - I would include a photo but I don't want to make people gag. The cronut itself was very oily tasting and they put way too much frosting on the top. I've had quite a few cronuts and every time I feel like they get worse. They used to be my favorite but the quality control on items just isn't up to par. read more

The staff really need to be trained properly on the cakes selection. Every time I order the Blueberry Chiffon cake for the kids they always box the Blueberry Yoghurt Cake. They also easily mix up the mocha cake with the chocolate raspberry cake as well. Maybe the names are too similar or staff are just poorly trained. Unless I'm diligent to check, it's usually the wrong cake that's boxed. When I've been in a rush and forget to check, I have a very unhappy little league class. Ok, now after they've been open for sometime, here is my follow up review. For now staying at 3 stars... possibly 2 on some days. For reference usually we visit 3-4 times a month since we live so close. Overall the customer service has seen some improvements, but it's still not up to par comparing to the Sunnyvale location, PA, or even the one off of Saratoga Ave. The cashiers, at times are needlessly rude. The pastries are handled without care. Multiple times I feel my pastries were thrown into the bag... then handed to me in the plastic baggie without a box. Also, don't ask if you can put my savory and sweet goodies in the same plastic bag. That's weird and you should know better. I constantly get the feeling of pettiness and penny pinching. No customer likes that. If I've purchased more than a few pieces of pastries, please offer to put them into a box, I can say no thank you, but don't make me ask for it. As far as quality of the baked goods, I think they are perfectly acceptable... but I am definitely going in less cause the unpleasant experiences. read more

I hope I'm never executed by the state of California. If I WERE to be executed by the state of California, however, my warden would be calling the folks at Paris Baguette and ordering a half dozen chocolate croissants for my last meal. I guess I'd have to settle for gross prison coffee because I doubt their espresso would travel well, but that's neither here nor there. The point is: these are DELICIOUS pastries. And not like "delicious for the Bay Area" pastries, but ACTUALLY objectively delicious pastries. I know! Amazing! My wife is much more adventurous and orders all kinds of strange and delectable treats when we go. I couldn't tell you anything about them other than some are savory and some are sweet and all are incredible and please can I have another bite? All these people complaining about slow coffee orders are missing the forest for the trees. Who cares about a late latte when we all know this latte is just there to wash down whatever crazy looking donut thing you just tried on a whim and now can't possibly leave without ordering another? In the flavor-desert that is Mountain View, Paris Baguette stands alone as the consistent and delicious way to start a lazy Saturday stroll on Castro st. Have been coming here consistently to get cakes for family birthdays which has all been superb. The 2 star rating is for the service from one of the newer female associates based on an online order I never picked up and got refunded. I had to call in a total of 4 times to get the refund. Every time, the associate mentioned she would complete it and send a confirmation, but ended up forgetting or leaving me in the dust. On my 4th call, I asked to speak directly with the manager who was able to take care of the issue but had never heard about my case. Request for all associates to attend to customer needs consistently, even through online orders so that the experience is positive both in-person and on web. read more
