Someone had once gifted us some cake from a Paris Baguette bakery and I'd read about this place before so was curious to try it. Didn't even know this location existed. I stumbled across it when I was downtown and as I'm not downtown very often it seemed like a good opportunity to give it a try. They have both savoury and sweet items in this place but it's really more focused on the sweets. For savory they have cold sandwiches in the refrigerated section and the occasional pastry that's savory. (eg.Hash Brown Bread with Ham & Cheese) The pastries here are gorgeous and very tempting but the prices are really steep. There's a "Buy 6 or more maked goods, No Tax" offer but even with that...kinda hard to stomach the idea of paying for more than one item. The one that shocked me the most was probably the sourdough loaf for over $14! It wasn't even a large loaf either. It looked smaller than the average loaf of sourdough. A good loaf from a good bakery would probably cost a minimum of $6 if not more. This was more than twice that amount and not even the same amount of bread! After surveying all the tempting goods, I couldn't walk away with nothing so I settled on a Crookie for $8.29. We're a family of 3 in my house so it seemed like a good item to bring home as it was made up of 3 mini croissants that could easily be broken up and divided amongst 3 people. It actually broke apart on its own as soon as I picked it up with the tongs and tried to place it on my tray to bring to the checkout counter. The sales lady was kind enough to offer to let me choose a new one but I figured a new one might just break apart again so I stuck with the already broken one. Croissant mixed with chocolate chip cookie dough...hard to go wrong with that combination. It was a hit in our house and our daughter wants to have it again sometime. Always happy to find anything that brings a smile to my baby's face so I will likely bring back a Crookie again sometime. At the prices they charge though, can't see myself stepping into that place very often.

Paris Baguette located at 1150 Alberni Street Vancouver BC Just a quick picked up a piece of strawberry TIRAMISU cake for dessert, a loaf of raisin bread and a cup of 20oz iced Matcha Latte.

I tried their mochi donuts before and it was a hot day so we came in to grabbed some drinks. There are so many pretty desserts and yummy looking pastries but we were full so we only ordered drinks. The place is quite busy but does have a lot of seating available. We ordered mango smoothie and matcha frappe. My matcha frappe was ok but the mango slush was really too sweet. We couldn't finish the mango slush.

Amazing pastries! Wanted to try salt bread and they had it! The savory items , pepperoni pizza croissant and the curry bun were my favorite!!

Does it seem like Metro Vancouver is being taken over by pizzerias, coffee shops & bakeries? Well it is! LOL. Just what I need in my life - more sugar & calories. Paris Baguette is opening up & expanding in Washington State (Alderwood Mall in Lynwood - first location now open) & up here in Metro Vancouver & already has locations across Canada. South Korean domination rolling ahead full steam & now here in town. PG has some serious competition ahead of it. There are plenty of heavy hitters already established here in Metro Vancouver when it comes to bakeries. See my reviews, as I've covered dozens of local bakeries. It's going to take a few visits to PG to decide if it's legit. Seriously, how many pastries & coffees could one eat in one sitting to decide a ranking!? However, for now based on hype & presentation - so far so good. Located downtown, on the fabulous 'Rodeo Drive' of Vancouver - Alberni St, PG has chosen to obviously come in via a big splash on this very expensive street known for its top designer wear & diamond stores. A second location is now open as well in Coquitlam. When Korean & French flavour meet head on, what could go wrong!? Stay tuned.

The savory and sweet pastries I tried were all delightful! It's a bit on the pricier side of pastries, but worth it. -The crab croquette was a solid 5/5. -Strawberry mochi donut 5/5. I just kept wanting to eat more of this one. - the raspberry cream filled croissant was a 4/5. I really liked the raspberry jam,m flavor, but after a while it got a bit too sweet. - the bag of garlic mini croissants 5/5. It had a sweet glaze on top of it, which I think was honey. It added a nice surprise to the garlic flavor. - strawberry cream cake 5/5. I thought this version of a strawberry chiffon cake was well balanced in sweetness and amount of cream to chiffon cake ratio

Huge selection of French and Korean pastries. It's self-serve style where you grab a tray and pick out the pastries you want with tongs. There's a good amount of seating here and it wasn't too busy on Sunday morning. The two baristas/cashiers were both very friendly. I got the sweet potato bread and a blueberry lavender matcha. I really liked the sweet potato bread - the sweet potato filling was so smooth it was creamy, and the bread was soft and lightly sweet. The sesame seed garnish was sparse. As for the blueberry lavender matcha, the matcha itself was not good. The barista warned me that it would be very sweet and was from a powder mix so they couldn't adjust it, but that still didn't adequately prepare me for how sweet it was. Really sweet and very little actual matcha, which I did expect from looking at pictures, but it was even more extreme than I was expecting. However, the blueberry lavender milk was actually really good and LESS sweet than the matcha, which was enough to redeem the drink. I would definitely not recommend a plain matcha latte here, but the limited edition fruity ones might be worth a try if you just want the fruity milk and don't care about the matcha. The extended hours every day of the week are definitely a plus.

Expectations exceeded with the turkey cranberry croissant! Grab one to go and asked for it warmed up. It's a wonderful blend of textures and all the ingredients are so fresh and flavorful! The pastries were neatly wrapped and arranged, some individually wrapped. Visually attractive without being over the top, and familiar. Lots of fresh pastries like cream filled croissants and danishes, as well as yummy sandwiches and savoury pastries in the cooler. Came during grand opening day at 8:30am and there was pleasantly no lineup having opened at 6am. The inside was beginning to fill up with people by the time I picked my pastries and checked out. But I appreciated how friendly and polite the staff were by greeting customers and keeping the place orderly. Everyone knew what their role was to help for the first day and customers knew where to go. Definitely adding this on my place to bring people for early morning grab and go breakfast or a snack midday. They open 6am to 11pm which is a rarity for Vancouver.

Finally got around to trying Paris Baguette and I'm so glad I did,! Tried the Strawberry Cream Bread, Fruit Danish, Sweet Potato Bread, and Mochi Donut. Loved the consistency of the mochi donuts and the sweet potato bread was super soft! Would come again and having a loyalty program with rewards helps with that for sure

Great variety of baked goods and great price. I reccomend downloading their app to collect points and get special coupons and deals. Their cup sizes are larger than the average so a Medium iced americano was really worth the price. I've tried a variety of pastries here and everything here hit the spot and doesn't break the bank. However, it's always crowded so don't expect to find seating easily. They do need to come up with a better pick up system for drinks though instead of randomly shouting out the drink names, can be extemely confusing for customers. Place is crowded since it's a bit of a tourist trap

i stopped by this buzz worthy korean-french bakery at 1150 alberni street on saturday at 2:45 pm, eager to check out their soft launch just in time for the christmas holidays. situated in a high end, luxury retail neighbourhood, the bakery has been highly anticipated, so i was pleasantly surprised to find the wait relatively short. every seat inside was occupied, and the atmosphere was lively as customers browsed the self-serve displays of pastries, breads, donuts, and cakes. the setup feels like a blend of a chic café and a boutique bakery. with trays and tongs in hand, you can explore an eye catching assortment of baked goods before heading to the counter to order drinks or whole cakes, and pay for your treats. the displays are thoughtfully arranged, giving the space a polished yet approachable vibe (though self-serve setups always raise some hygiene questions for me). here's what i brought home: strawberry lemon cream croissant ($3.40): small, light, and filled with a zesty lemon custard, but it lacked the buttery crispness and flaky layers of an exceptional croissant. raspberry almond croissant ($6.69): the raspberry filling was generous but overly sweet, and the texture didn't quite have the delicate flakiness i was hoping for. coffee danish ($5.49): the coffee flavour was subtle, but the danish fell short on delivering the crisp, airy texture and rich butter that makes this pastry a favourite. strawberry mochi donut ($4.79): the chewy texture stood out, but the icing leaned a tad bit too sweet for my taste. the cakes on display, however, were show stopping, almost too stunning to eat. they alone might warrant another visit to explore more of the menu. while the pastries didn't wow me, the experience of visiting this vibrant bakery was still enjoyable. if you're in the area and curious about korean-french baked goods, it's worth stopping by to see what all the buzz is about and form your own opinion.

This long anticipated of Paris Baguette Bakery Café in downtown finally had its soft opening on Dec 21. It's a 2nd location after Coquitlam. I checked it out after dinner on the next day. This Korean French bakery is all over in Korea. We're lucky to have it in town. It had a pretty good vibe with the blue and white decor from the entrance leading you to the varieties of pastries on the left and the cafe seating area on the right. It was after 9pm so the place was not as busy as the daytime. They open from 6am to 11pm during the holiday season at least. Hours may change later. Their pastries are so appealing to the eyes. You can easily want to get one of each. After some tough decision making, I picked 4: - Almond Pain du Chocolat - Almond Pastry - Pineapple Brulee Pantry - Peppermint Mochi Donut They are tasting great on the first day and even overnight in the fridge. You could microwave it a bit also. The pastry is very buttery. But among the 3 pastries I got, they have different level of buttery taste and different density. I liked the pineapple one the best, then the almond ones and the peppermint mochi donut. Don't get me wrong. The mochi donut had the soft chewy texture I like. The peppermint icing was on point. None of the pastries were too sweet. I could taste the distinct flavour of the pineapple, the chocolate, the peppermint and the butter on every bite. You will notice that they are not greasy at all. They also have sandwiches, savory pastries and packaged salad. Their handcrafted cakes are really amazing for special occasions or just a craving for the sweet tooth. They have raspberry jam and apricot jam in a jar as well as chocolate bars. Pound cakes are also available. Gotta try them next time. They have different drinks such as hot chocolate. It would be nice to enjoy their pastry with a drink at their cafe. Thr pricing is a bit on the higher end, but you gotta appreciate the calories label for each item. The service was also nice. They handled each piece of the pastry with care while packing them for you.

An amazing selection of bakery treats, mainly sweet, but some savory. The two that we sampled were high-quality and delicious. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high-end location. Must return to try more! Big spacious dining area with washroom, with a bit of a fast food ambience.

My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. I was meeting a friend here yesterday who's visiting from California, and when deciding on a meeting place, we realized a bunch of the Gastown coffee roaster places were closed on Sunday, so I mentioned Breka , knowing it was opened 24/7. (LOVE this!). Plus, this site is close to Waterfront Station, and my friend had a busy day planned, taking the Seabus to N.Van and doing a lot of sightseeing. So this Breka was perfect. I was there early at 10 am-ish, and from the outset, I was impressed: exposed brick wall, long counter and display case, fully stocked with the most beautiful pastries and tarts and cakes, and lovely looking sandwiches, too....Just lovely. I ordered a tea from the guy taking the orders. At the check-out, the woman working the cashier was the most unfriendly, aloof person I have ever encountered at a Breka. She was downright dour. Never looked up, never smiled, said I owed X for the tea I ordered, gave me a receipt and said I was "number 3", no "thank you" (despite my saying thanks!), nothing. She looked really unhappy and bothered to be there. (I sat at a nearby table, waiting for my number to be called. I saw her interactions with all the people behind me - and there were quite a few, as it got suddenly busy in the cafe. She was cold and unfriendly to everyone in line as she rang them all up. These are mostly tourists! Why have a dour, borderline-hostile woman at the check-out counter of a busy cafe in a touristy part of our city? I just don't get it). Anyhow, I waited 10 minutes to hear my number called, but I never heard it. I walked up to the take-out area and there was my tea, on a receipt that said "number 3". Did they call out my number? I honestly don't know. I was seated at a table a few feet from the area and listening for my number and I didn't hear it called. I was not impressed with this set-up. Not at all. My friend arrived and got a chocolate concoction which looked amazing, and he loved it, so there's that. I still love Brekas but I probably won't return to this site. Between the cold experience at the cash and the prolonged waiting for my order (a cup of tea!), and not being sure if my order number was ever called, it just all left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.
