I came here for their iced coffee and the coffee is decent & the baristas are professional. I love the vibes here. Some things I want to point out: 1. When I ordered an iced americano without ice, my cup arrived with about half full. I completely understand that ice normally takes up a good portion of the cup, but when a customer opts out of ice, it would be great if the drink were filled to the full 12oz (you can refer ti the photo before I drank it). It's a small adjustment that would make a big difference in feeling like you're getting the full value of what you paid for. 2. Building on the first point, requesting for the drink to be filled up comes with a $1 upcharge, which feels strange given that you already paid for a 12oz cup. 3. There is limited seating, so if you have a large party, I do not recommend sitting indoors.

I went with a friend who is a greater connoisseur of pour over coffee. It's really small, and because it attracts those who want to experience the select pour over coffee, the turnover is not that fast despite them explicitly banning laptops. It was Friday late morning and still very much crowded, which I was surprised by. The menu is limited and quite frankly, I think they serve limited pastry/food options for a good reason. The main focus is the coffee here. The baristas are knowledgeable, and so while they tried not to give one recommendation at first, when I specified that I usually like acidic and fruity coffee, they recommended the Bambito Estate which is a Red Bourbon varietal washed process. It was super light, bright, and fruity. Very clean and probably appeals to most people, especially novice coffee drinkers like me. My friend had the Altieri ASD which was Catuai varietal that was, as the name suggests, processed via the anaerobic slow dry method. It sounds weird but the first thing I thought of when I took a little sip was "gochujang" which is Korean fermented red pepper paste. There's sweetness, a little spice, and than funk from the fermentation. Of the two we tried, I thought the Altieri was the better one to get at Arcane. It was a lot of fun watching them prepare the pour overs when we snagged a seat at the bar. Do know, again because there's a lot of coffee enthusiasts coming in to try the unique Panamanian coffee, it might be hard to flag anyone's attention and there's a lot of conversations happening in a very small store. But the whole ambiance is just as curated as the coffee beans here. I would love to revisit Arcane to try other funkier coffee (but maybe at a different time of the day).

Maybe I'm just not a coffee connoisseur or I was hyping things up too much but I'm still so shocked this is recognized as one of the best coffee shops in the world??? I got an iced espresso with oat milk and it was quite bitter. I wasn't a big fan. The inside is super small but pretty cute!

Beautiful little space. Probably 15 people can sit inside. The coffee is 10 out of 10. Which is good because you are paying for it. As a drip coffee-head, I don't pay $7 for coffee often (this is the cheap one btw). But it was excellent. I'll be back for the elevated experience as a treat.

Waited 30 minutes outside on Sunday afternoon, it was totally worth it. My latte was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. I don't drink a lot of coffee and usually I don't always feel good after drinking it. This coffee tasted fruity and aromatic and didnt have a normal coffee taste. I additionally felt fine after drinking it and the coffee felt very clean. The ambiance inside was so beautiful would definitely recommend sitting at the bar if possible. People were so nice and knowledgeable as well.

We found this place by browsing google maps and I immediately fell in love with the vibes as soon as I walked in. The coffee was really good (it's surprisingly not easy to find good ones in NYC) and the barista was friendly too! Can't wait to go back

With the reputation as #2 in the country we were disappointed. Fill disclaimer, I am a lover of coffee more on the sweet side and only order lattes so we got the iced espresso & milk. There was nothing special about it and we mostly tasted the milk (or oat milk). It was just ok. I understand that "real" coffee lovers who focus more on the coffee and do not order with milk may be having a different experience but if you're coming here for lattes they will not be worth the wait or price. On a side note, I liked their chocolate chip cookie. Chewy, soft and slightly salty.

Exceptional coffee! They source their own coffee from Panama. Edgar, Devon and Mika are great vibes. Serious Panamanian coffees. Got to try their Janson Estate washed and got a taste of their Pacamara and batch. Service is slow bar 3rd wave for sure. Crazy different aesthetic. Highly highly recommend

I past by this place before it opened and was curious because I hadn't seen a place focused on Panamanian coffee before in New York City and a friend of mine made me curious about it. When I had a break, I finally came through. The cafe is relatively small. Maybe 10 people at most can be there comfortably between sitting and standing. That is why they have a no laptop rule on their tables and on the register. They sold only one type of coffee in bags but you can taste different varieties through tasting. Other than that they serve options like espresso and espresso with milk (no lattes or mochas). They also have iced coffee, matcha and teas available. Because I already had matcha that day, I tried their cold fresas con crema which was a strawberry soda. It was quite refreshing. I would come back with friends who are more serious about coffee as opposed to a chill hang. The people there were nice and it was quiet around 2 pm.

Arcane Estate Coffee in the West Village is a hidden gem for coffee lovers. The space has a cozy, stylish vibe with just the right mix of modern and rustic. The coffee is exceptional; smooth, rich, and clearly crafted with care. I tried their Iced matcha which was from Kettl tea, and it was one of the best I've had in the city. The barista was kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The staff overall seem genuinely passionate about what they do. It's a great spot to relax, catch up with a friend, or get a little work done. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. By the way, they have croissants and other pastries from La Cabra. Now I don't have to go all the way to SoHo or the East Village.

This is coffee as art. I feel like only real coffee drinkers come here. While the lattes and milk drinks are good you should really try to get espresso or drink the coffee black. It's a small place so not great for groups but the ambiance is so cool.

We love the story of this place, the coffee beans coming from the creator (Edgar's) coffee farm in Panama, bringing Panamanian coffee to the NY scene.

The matcha flavor came through nicely, while the green tangerine added a bright, citrusy flavor that made the drink incredibly refreshing. It was lightly sweet with a little fizz, and the dried citrus garnish was a nice touch. The customer service was also great. I had a few questions about the drinks, and they were enthusiastically answered, which I really appreciated. I'm always happy when a coffee shop has interesting options for us non-coffee drinkers, and this one definitely delivered. I'll be back and would absolutely order the Green Tangerine Matcha Ade again.

Ten Thousand is a Korean chain (three spots in Manhattan now, plus outposts in Taipei and LA) and…read moreeveryone comes for the einspanner. I don't drink coffee. So I went in for the Green Tangerine Matcha Ade, which is the drink they should be talking about more. The green tangerine is the Jeju cheonggyul thing, the unripe fruit picked before it sweetens, so you get a sharper, almost yuzu-adjacent bitterness instead of orange juice sweetness. That's the right call against matcha. Grassy tea, tart citrus, light sugar, actual carbonation that hadn't gone flat by the time I got to the bottom. The matcha stayed suspended too, which is harder than it sounds in soda water. Dried citrus wheel on top is a real garnish, not a sad afterthought. Staff were genuinely into it. I asked what grade of matcha they use and how it's built, and got straight answers with zero eye-rolling. Rare at a counter-service spot at 1410 Broadway, where most places are just moving the garment district lunch crowd through. It's eight bucks for a fizzy tea. That's steep, and the room is basically a lobby cafe with very little seating, so this is a grab-and-walk-to-Bryant-Park situation, not a linger. Still, if you're a tea person stuck in a coffee city, this is one of the better cold matcha drinks in Midtown right now. Better balanced than Kijitora's peach fizz, which leans sweet. Order it, skip the seating, don't expect quiet.
