Americano, espresso with oat milk, and espresso with whole milk

Maybe I'm just not a coffee connoisseur or I was hyping things up too much but I'm still so shocked this is recognized as one of the best coffee shops in the world??? I got an iced espresso with oat milk and it was quite bitter. I wasn't a big fan. The inside is super small but pretty cute!

Waited 30 minutes outside on Sunday afternoon, it was totally worth it. My latte was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. I don't drink a lot of coffee and usually I don't always feel good after drinking it. This coffee tasted fruity and aromatic and didnt have a normal coffee taste. I additionally felt fine after drinking it and the coffee felt very clean. The ambiance inside was so beautiful would definitely recommend sitting at the bar if possible. People were so nice and knowledgeable as well.

Beautiful little space. Probably 15 people can sit inside. The coffee is 10 out of 10. Which is good because you are paying for it. As a drip coffee-head, I don't pay $7 for coffee often (this is the cheap one btw). But it was excellent. I'll be back for the elevated experience as a treat.

With the reputation as #2 in the country we were disappointed. Fill disclaimer, I am a lover of coffee more on the sweet side and only order lattes so we got the iced espresso & milk. There was nothing special about it and we mostly tasted the milk (or oat milk). It was just ok. I understand that "real" coffee lovers who focus more on the coffee and do not order with milk may be having a different experience but if you're coming here for lattes they will not be worth the wait or price. On a side note, I liked their chocolate chip cookie. Chewy, soft and slightly salty.

We found this place by browsing google maps and I immediately fell in love with the vibes as soon as I walked in. The coffee was really good (it's surprisingly not easy to find good ones in NYC) and the barista was friendly too! Can't wait to go back

Exceptional coffee! They source their own coffee from Panama. Edgar, Devon and Mika are great vibes. Serious Panamanian coffees. Got to try their Janson Estate washed and got a taste of their Pacamara and batch. Service is slow bar 3rd wave for sure. Crazy different aesthetic. Highly highly recommend

I past by this place before it opened and was curious because I hadn't seen a place focused on Panamanian coffee before in New York City and a friend of mine made me curious about it. When I had a break, I finally came through. The cafe is relatively small. Maybe 10 people at most can be there comfortably between sitting and standing. That is why they have a no laptop rule on their tables and on the register. They sold only one type of coffee in bags but you can taste different varieties through tasting. Other than that they serve options like espresso and espresso with milk (no lattes or mochas). They also have iced coffee, matcha and teas available. Because I already had matcha that day, I tried their cold fresas con crema which was a strawberry soda. It was quite refreshing. I would come back with friends who are more serious about coffee as opposed to a chill hang. The people there were nice and it was quiet around 2 pm.

Arcane Estate Coffee in the West Village is a hidden gem for coffee lovers. The space has a cozy, stylish vibe with just the right mix of modern and rustic. The coffee is exceptional; smooth, rich, and clearly crafted with care. I tried their Iced matcha which was from Kettl tea, and it was one of the best I've had in the city. The barista was kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The staff overall seem genuinely passionate about what they do. It's a great spot to relax, catch up with a friend, or get a little work done. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. By the way, they have croissants and other pastries from La Cabra. Now I don't have to go all the way to SoHo or the East Village.

This is coffee as art. I feel like only real coffee drinkers come here. While the lattes and milk drinks are good you should really try to get espresso or drink the coffee black. It's a small place so not great for groups but the ambiance is so cool.

We love the story of this place, the coffee beans coming from the creator (Edgar's) coffee farm in Panama, bringing Panamanian coffee to the NY scene.

The Jeju Green Tangerine Matcha honestly just tastes like a tangerine selter drink but in the best way, because I don't typically enjoy seltzer or carbonated beverages. I really enjoy the flavor and the carbonation isn't too strong, probably because I brought it home to drink. I don't really taste the matcha but I would definitely still order this again. 2. Matcha Einspanner. This is my first time having an Einspanner so I have no idea what I was expecting but this is DELICIOUS. It's so silky and smooth and the TASTE is just right up my alley. The matcha is light but you can still taste it. Absolutely, would drink this all the time if I could. 3. Purple Sweet Potato Latte. This. This. Omg, why haven't I tried this sooner?! The first sip and initial taste, I almost tasted nothing, just milk. And then all of a sudden, there's an explosion of flavor in your mouth. As a sweet potato lover, I was in heaven. I have absolutely no words for this drink, just try it. 100/10 recommend. This is probably my favorite one out of the 3 that I bought. I went around ... 2:45PM on a Friday and most of the seats were taken, if I remember correctly. There were a decent amount of seats and the space was decent. I liked the minimal aesthetic they had for the design of the interior. Not to forget, the staff at the register was absolutely wonderful, she answered all my questions, she's so sweet. I think I'm disappointed that I haven't tried this place sooner. Y'all get out of your comfort zone and try the Purple Sweet Potato Latte !! Or if not, just try this place out. I will definitely be recommending the Purple Sweet Potato Latte to all my family and friends.

While it was a fun and unique drink, I probably should have opted for something else. The topping was literally like actual tiramisu rather than just tiramisu flavoring, and it felt like there was more ice and tiramisu than latte. Personally, I would have preferred more of the tiramisu flavor without the full tiramisu texture mixed into the drink. That said, it was an interesting concept and I'm glad I tried it. I'd definitely be open to coming back and trying another latte on a future visit.

Amazing Creme (Croux) Puffs!!!…read more I got the green tea, black sesame, & earl grey. The cream filling is very generous and the pastry isn't too thick. Loved the outside flavoring. We had the raspberry tart and the milk cloud cake. Price points were very high, even for midtown pastries. I enjoyed the milk cloud cake because of the black tea infused cream really came through. The other bits in it were not as impressive--the small chocolate bits were dry and this viscous layer in it (tapioca?) lacked taste. The raspberry tart was very adorable with two macarons. The tart shell was a bit dry and crumbly, but if you like raspberry the flavor does come through in the filling. The staff weren't warm in any way, but we're in midtown which tends to be hectic, and we were there at the end of the day so it's not a dealbreaker or anything really egregious. The place isn't very spacious for seating, so unless you're coming at a time that isn't busy, you might not get a seat/I'd plan around getting your sweets to go. That was no problem for me this time around, though. Overall this place is cute, and if you're looking for an Asian-inspired treat in midtown before a broadway show (Wicked is nearby) this could be an option for you. I just wouldn't expect it to particularly standout in terms of price and quality.

I probably never leave reviews in general, especially negative ones, but this experience was so…read moreegregious that I honestly felt like I had to say something. I've worked in restaurants and bars long enough to understand that staff drinking happens, but this was on another level entirely. I came in with a group of friends and one of the bartenders, Will, was so visibly drunk that it made the entire experience uncomfortable. Slurred speech, wobbling behind the bar, taking orders while chewing food with his mouth open -- it was honestly embarrassing to watch. He looked like he absolutely did not want to be there. At one point, my group had been trying to get his attention for another round for quite a while while he stood around talking with coworkers. We then watched staff take a shot together, and when he finally came over he burped mid-conversation and literally had whatever he had just been drinking dribbling down his neckbeard. That was the moment where the whole thing went from unprofessional to just gross. What made it worse was that it didn't seem isolated to one employee. Throughout the night we watched staff openly taking shots and drinking behind the bar like it was a house party instead of a business. There's a difference between bar culture and complete lack of professionalism, and this crossed that line hard. One of the friends I was with actually frequents the DUMBO location and said that the last time she was there, the same bartender also seemed intoxicated, which makes this feel less like a bad night and more like an ongoing issue. The DUMBO location itself is in an amazing spot, which makes it even more disappointing. But ownership seriously needs to get control of what's going on there before someone gets hurt or the place develops a reputation for having drunk staff on the clock. Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable enough that my girlfriends and I won't be coming back. I genuinely hope the employee mentioned gets help if this is a regular thing, because nobody should be working service in that condition.
