Unfortunately, our experience here was extremely disappointing. We had walked by a few times and really liked the atmosphere, so we were excited to make a reservation. We were seated upstairs on the balcony, which was a nice spot and had a great vibe. The service started off fine, but things quickly went downhill. It took over 20 minutes to receive our drinks after ordering. While bringing them out, our server accidentally spilled an iced tea all over the table and onto my white pants. Mistakes happen, but we were surprised that there was no apology, and the response felt very dismissive. Shortly after, while we were cleaning up, she came back and sprayed cleaner on the table but accidentally sprayed it onto me instead. Again, there was no acknowledgment or apology. A few minutes later, she brought out a replacement drink, but it was the wrong one. When we pointed it out, there was some confusion and we were initially told it was correct before another staff member came over and brought the right drink. Unfortunately, the food was also a letdown. The bison burgers were extremely dry, and the ribs were so tough and chewy that they were difficult to eat. We were really hoping the meal would make up for the service issues, but it left us disappointed. Given the issues, we expected the spilled drink would at least be removed from the bill. Instead, we noticed additional drink refills on our tab that we didn't order. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, especially because we had been looking forward to trying this place. Came here for happy hour drinks and a distillery tour. Happy hour drinks are very affordable. I loved the Rootbeer + 2 shots of vanilla vodka. The Distillery tour was a bit underwhelming since it was only a viewing of Penny and a room behind that. However, you could have a tasting of 4 of their unique beverages. I was suprised by how much I enjoyed the Maple Rye (which was never something I considered myself to like). I bought one as a gift. Another fun add-on to the tour is to create your own bottle of gin. As we learned, Gin is quite literally vodka with a teabag, so you get to customize your own infusion blend for the gin. This is in a full size bottle of liquid, so ensure that you have additional space/weight in your luggage because not only is it a large amount of alcohol, but also a heavy glass bottle. We sat at the railing on the restaurant, which was great for looking out at the mountains or people watching. We had the cornbread, crispy chicken with honey sauce and a summer salad with salmon. All three were delicious. The salad was tomatoes, cucumber, salmon, BC peaches in a tasty vinaigrette. The peaches weren't soft, so I would venture to say they may not have been ripe. It ended up being a bit pricy ($38 CAD). The crispy chicken was fried perfectly with a sauce that wasn't spicy and was a little sweet. The cornbread was some of the best I've had and came with a homemade whipped butter. Daisy, our server, was imperative to helping with our decisions and she seemed excited about everything in the menu. The food came out in an appropriate time. I have zero complaints about the food, but it is on the pricier side for one main entree and two appetizers. They should fix some things in the women's bathroom. The tissue paper box is positioned in a way where it makes it almost impossible to enter a stall without hitting your back on the box. There are only hook and eye latches and it is impossible to tell is someone is in a stall. Ergo, someone pushed my door open even though it was latched. Ambience was truly amazing. Right on the main avenue, nestled among the busy shops and restaurants. After a long day of site seeing this was a wonderful spot to end the night. Cocktails were amazing. Park Distillery was a great choice for our first night in Banff. We made a reservation through OpenTable and had no issues getting seated for dinner. The drinks were excellent, and the food was exactly what we were looking for. We shared the cowboy ribeye between two people, which was more than enough, and added the hot wings and cornbread on the side. The cornbread was outstanding and easily something I'd order again. I had the Mountain Thyme cocktail made with Park Banff Whisky, lemon, peach, Jolene's Tea House Earl Grey, and thyme, and it was really well balanced. Was able to book this on OpenTable. The doors open to allow fresh air and light to come in. This added to our dining experience as you can see the cars/buses and people just walking around outside and you can hear the commotion. I enjoyed the atmosphere it created. Now, the drinks here are pretty good and they use their own spirits. But what I really liked was the Annex rootbeer they served. It was so good that I am still thinking about it til this day. Unfortunately, it's only available in Canada so I'm a little bummed. It doesn't give off that sugary processed aftertaste you get with most root beers. A must try if you come. Just keep in mind that it's not free refills. We ended up ordering the rib eye 16oz. and in about 5 minutes, the food came out and I was like, that was really quick. Then I saw that they actually gave me the prime rib instead. I spoke to our server and she messed up the order and she kind of sold us on keeping the prime rib. We are glad we kept it because it was really good. The smoke flavor really put this one up there. Although I would have been happy with the ribeye, the smokiness really helped enhance the flavor. I was still a bit hungry afterwards because we planned to share the 16oz. ribeye, but the prime rib was only 12oz. and it did have an ounce or so of just fat that wasn't edible. Our server was great and I also noticed how personable their wait staff was because they all were engaging with their tables. I made a reservation here the week before arriving for our party of 13 and was able to get a table at a prime dinner time. We were seated upstairs at two tables right next to each other. This worked out great as there was a kids table and an adult table. This was right by the kitchen, so it was a bit warm. The decor is a mountain/camping theme and so is the food. We were there on a Wednesday so they had a special for rotisserie chicken or ribs. I got the ribs, which ended up not being that good of a deal since it is a half rack and the full rack is just double the price, so the special essentially allows you to order a smaller portion. The lemon flavor in the gnocchi was good and it was very strong and lemon forward, and the bison burger (which is what they are known for) was good too. So if you are on a time crunch I might recommend going somewhere else because they took their time. I would recommend coming here if you're looking for something safe and basic. Had a Buffalo burger and loved it. My girlfriend got the park burger and it has sauce that's made from horseradish which my gf can't stand. We traded our main courses and I thought her burger was good too. We both loved the fries. Had some cocktails made from the whiskey, vodka, and gin made here and we enjoyed the maple whiskey the best. The spinach dip was great. Server was good and friendly. Sat outside it was a little chilly but still nice. This one was our first stop in Banff, the patio caught our eye so we decided to swing in. We started by making a reservation for the distillery tour then sat at the bar to grab some drinks. The bartenders made some fantastic cocktails. I wanted to try every single one on the menu. We happened to be there during the end of happy hour too so we got to try a couple discounted options, they have some great recipes here. The tour was pretty cool, it's a very small production area and it was really awesome to see everything. They keep the groups small and you can ask a lot of questions which was cool. They ended it with a tasting and we got to try everything we were interested in, they have some really awesome craft liquors that they obviously put a lot of love into. The Mac and cheese was light and not super heavy compared to other variations I've had, but I personally enjoyed it! The garlic breadcrumbs added a nice texture to it. Corn bread nicely-charred (served with maple whisky butter) was good. Bacon cheddar burger was well-composed, beautifully presented on a shiny brioche bun accompanied by crispy, thin fries and ketchup. Rotisserie chicken with perfectly browned skin looked great but was a little dry (breast portion), redeemed by clusters of well-roasted, crisped skin potatoes (yellow and purple). Campfire drippin' gravy was lackluster. Negroni (made with house-distilled gin) balanced and quite tasty but slightly smaller portioned. Staffs were friendly and helpful. I have to give Park Distillery props for having last minute reservations for a large group of 9. We were exhausted and starving from our hike so thank you to the staff for being accommodating and getting our orders in quickly. I totally get how crazy it can be with a large group but our server was awesome and on top of it! Park Distillery has a really cool vibe for both the upstairs and downstairs area. The decor gives ski vibes and the upstairs area has great windows to get the outdoor views and big TVs to watch live sports. Be sure to try some of their cocktails made with their own spirits. Had to try the bison burger and bacon cheddar burgers to try the Canadian beef. They had mac and cheese as a side and it was a great app to start and carbo load.
