    Summer salad with salmon
    Karen M.

We sat at the railing on the restaurant, which was great for looking out at the mountains or people watching. We had the cornbread, crispy chicken with honey sauce and a summer salad with salmon. All three were delicious. The salad was tomatoes, cucumber, salmon, BC peaches in a tasty vinaigrette. The peaches weren't soft, so I would venture to say they may not have been ripe. It ended up being a bit pricy ($38 CAD). The crispy chicken was fried perfectly with a sauce that wasn't spicy and was a little sweet. The cornbread was some of the best I've had and came with a homemade whipped butter. Daisy, our server, was imperative to helping with our decisions and she seemed excited about everything in the menu. The food came out in an appropriate time. I have zero complaints about the food, but it is on the pricier side for one main entree and two appetizers. They should fix some things in the women's bathroom. The tissue paper box is positioned in a way where it makes it almost impossible to enter a stall without hitting your back on the box. There are only hook and eye latches and it is impossible to tell is someone is in a stall. Ergo, someone pushed my door open even though it was latched. All in all, I would come back and try some other things on the menu.

Great food and super drink selection. Atmosphere was active and interesting. We were seated quickly and server was very interactive and interesting, although at times he seemed to go missing, either with other tables or in the back. We had to check out with someone else because we didn't know where he was. Great place and highly recommend.

Came in on Sunday for dinner and the prime rib was on sale for $39.99. The place is definitely loud but not terribly loud that you can't have conversations. Food didn't come out the same time. Drinks came out a little later than the food. The smores espresso martini wasn't too sweet or strong. It was just right. The service is great here. The staff is very accommodating and attentive. If you get the truffle fries, I would highly recommend getting the truffle mayo dip with it too.

I went here twice with friends during our Banff trip because we just loved their drinks and vibe so much! They have a great cocktail menu, and you're bound to find at least one that you just want to keep ordering. They're open probably the latest out of most bars, so my friends and I stayed out really night trying out a bunch of drinks from their menu. Their service is great--I highly recommend!

It's not always about the beer... sometimes it's about the bartender who makes you forget you were only stopping in for one. If you see Pilar, you've hit the customer service jackpot. Top tier service, great vibes, and somehow the beer and cocktails taste even better. Coincidence? I think not.

    Rotisserie Chicken Burger

Food was great all around, I loved the rotisserie chicken burger, definitely recommend! Server was very nice and also hilarious! Cool multi floor restaurant with multiple bars and lots of different seating options (booth, table, bar, and even picnic tables inside?!) This place is pretty highly rated and id say it's well deserved!

Absolutely loved this place. Their house whiskey is legit. Corn bread is the best I've ever had(don't tell my mom). Bison burger was so good. Interior is really cool decor with 2 levels and a bar on each level. Awesome balcony views. Service was top notch

drinks were sooooo yummy service can b a bit slow but overall great place to drink and see views in banff especially the upper area outside pretty quiet but has tv and sports games on so ur never bored! inside has alot of things to see like the distillery and nice interior

Great service, tasty flavorful good with a good portion, a nice selection for kids option. Dining area can be loud when it gets busy. Prices are reasonable. First time here in Calgary and it is just right across from our hotel so we can walk home if we had a few drinks without needing to catch a ride back to our hotel with kids. They have a free distillery tour as well.

Annex RootBeer, Elder Flower Spritz & Skokie Maple Old Fashion

Was able to book this on OpenTable. The doors open to allow fresh air and light to come in. This added to our dining experience as you can see the cars/buses and people just walking around outside and you can hear the commotion. I enjoyed the atmosphere it created. Now, the drinks here are pretty good and they use their own spirits. But what I really liked was the Annex rootbeer they served. It was so good that I am still thinking about it til this day. Unfortunately, it's only available in Canada so I'm a little bummed. It doesn't give off that sugary processed aftertaste you get with most root beers. A must try if you come. Just keep in mind that it's not free refills. We ended up ordering the rib eye 16oz. and in about 5 minutes, the food came out and I was like, that was really quick. Then I saw that they actually gave me the prime rib instead. I spoke to our server and she messed up the order and she kind of sold us on keeping the prime rib. We are glad we kept it because it was really good. The smoke flavor really put this one up there. Although I would have been happy with the ribeye, the smokiness really helped enhance the flavor. I was still a bit hungry afterwards because we planned to share the 16oz. ribeye, but the prime rib was only 12oz. and it did have an ounce or so of just fat that wasn't edible. Our server was great and I also noticed how personable their wait staff was because they all were engaging with their tables. We were able to ask for advice on what to do and what to avoid and that really helped us plan the rest of our time in Banff. This is a definite bookmark for the next time.

    Bison burger

This place was recommended to us by a tour guide. We got the bison burger and the gnocchi. The lemon flavor in the gnocchi was good and it was very strong and lemon forward, and the bison burger (which is what they are known for) was good too. Personally the fries that came with the burger was the best part of the meal. The service was also a little slow but the restaurant was not busy (we were on a time crunch). So if you are on a time crunch I might recommend going somewhere else because they took their time. I would recommend coming here if you're looking for something safe and basic. It looks like they have typical bar food and some of the wood fired dishes such as the chicken or ribs sounded good. They do have sports displaying on the televisions so if you wanted a place to watch sports and take your time this might be the place!

Had a Buffalo burger and loved it. My girlfriend got the park burger and it has sauce that's made from horseradish which my gf can't stand. We traded our main courses and I thought her burger was good too. We both loved the fries. Had some cocktails made from the whiskey, vodka, and gin made here and we enjoyed the maple whiskey the best. The spinach dip was great. Server was good and friendly. Sat outside it was a little chilly but still nice. I would have gave this restaurant five stars but as my girlfriend pointed out in the description and ingredients for the park burger they don't say anything about horseradish which to me is a big no no.

I'll post a photo of what it really looks like below. Anyway, we had to wait 15 minutes for our very sweet server to take our order... and then about 40 minutes for a kids cheese pizza, a pepperoni pizza and a salad. My salad was god awful. Overdressed with soggy, mealy watermelon and bruised strawberries. The pizzas weren't much better, too much crust and too much grease. Getting drinks refilled took forever because they were slammed. By the time we were ready, it took a while to find someone to take our order. The most wanted item is sold out, a fact that they told us upon ordering. Will be appreciated if we know ahead of time so we have more time to consider 'back up item'. There was a table beside us (came after us) who also discussed about ordering same sold-out items, and I was very tempted to tell them that it's sold out. But I figure it's not my place to say because the restaurant must have its own reason for NOT telling this upfront!!?????!! Ordered pork belly skewer , shiitake skewer, shrimp in spicy peanut sauce, and aburi salmon handroll, miso creme brulee. Best items are the shrimp with spicy peanut sauce, and miso creme brulee. Just wow!! For the rest: -If u have eaten shiitake before (at home for example) , u know nothing can go wrong with shiitake as it's already flavorful in its own (safe choice). -Pork belly has good flavor but kinda too fatty (it is a totally different style from the one I usually eat at other places). -Aburi salmon handroll doesnt taste like aburi at all. Just normal handroll basically. Nth special. It was my friend's birthday, we asked if they hv noodle (considering we were farrr from home) and they said it's only available during lunch (which is understandable), but then nth else was done to help celebrate this moment when they hear this fact (simple smile or simple 'happy birthday' could be a gift in its own). Overall, food-wise, we agree on best item and that this place is kinda meh (in terms of food selection and feels like very few 'flavor-worthed' ones).
