You would need stainless steel water supply lines, a new ball valve shut off, haul away your old water heater. That is standard... Then he tells me it is free to run the drip line outside my wall to the yard??? Total scam. I suggest never to use this company. I went with another company that came and replaced the unit for less than $800.00 Trust me stay away from these people. They over charge and replace what does not need to be replaced. read more

Last year Parker and Sons quoted $594 / lb for the 1st pound of Freon and then $313 for each additional pound. A highly rated competitor did it for $125 a pound. I would have paid Parker and Sons over $1800 and instead got the job done for $625. SHOP AROUND...even when if feels like an emergency and they've got you locked in!!!!!!! read more

Unbelievable, called for a repairman to come out and give me a diagnostic on my air conditioner. My phone had been turned off during a meeting earlier that day and I missed my call back by five minutes. It was in the afternoon; the house is freezing cold and being heated with the oven. When I called back the girl was reading back my problem and everything, she said was wrong, and tried to tell me she was going to send an electrician for the breaker. I said the breaker was for the air conditioner/heater, and I needed a repair man for my air conditioner. Anyway, I spent an hour listening to her talk about her crazy life and telling me she needed money bad. Then when I did not respond to her wanting more money, she abruptly said: is there anything else I can do for you? I said "no, I just need a repairman".... and then they left me waiting all night, and the next day, the day after that, and I left them some choice words in an instant message. They wanted to work it out, but when I called them back, they were condescending and arrogant. and ultimately told me I would need to wait two weeks! read more

I made an AC service appointment two weeks in advance. I just found out that because of the high heat warning next week, they were canceling my appointment, and the soonest they could reschedule was in July!!! I understand they need the crews for possible "emergency backup", but there needs to be a better system. I shouldn't have to wait over 4-6 weeks for service for an appointment I already made. It should be noted that I made the appointment through Home Depot...NOT KNOWING that they have nothing to do with the service company used!!!!!! After I made the appointment with them I was contacted by Parker and Sons.. Why dose Hope Depot even offer the service if they are not the ones who will do the work? We had a couple Issues that needed to be addressed and I appreciate him being honest and ethical. We signed up over a year ago for a program where a technician would come out infrequently and check our HVAC system. We cancelled this service after the first visit, as the technician wanted us to spend nearly $1000 on upgrades to a system that was only 3 years old and still covered under the new home warranty. He never gave any report about how the system looked until pressed by me nor did he perform any service like cleaning the coils, etc. Then about 2 weeks ago a charge appeared on our bank account for $153.89 for a renewal of this "maintenance" service. I contacted them telling them of the issue. They apologized, said it was an accounting error and would issue a refund immediately. Nothing happened after a week and I recontacted them only to discover that nothing had been processed. The new person promised to take care of the issue and would take care of the refund. He also offered a one-year complimentary service that I declined. Again, nothing happened after a week where I recontacted them yet again only to leave a message through their answering service even though I called during normal business hours. In the interim, I contacted my bank to dispute the charge and contacted the BBB to file a complaint. Someone from Parker and Sons called me after receiving the BBB complaint. I then discovered that the refund still had not been processed or issued. I realize that this company has been in business for over 50 years but I will never use them after this experience. read more

I used Parker and Sons to install two reverse osmosis systems as well as a water refinement system. With my water refinement system they recommended that I replace my hot water heater, which at the time was working perfectly. Now here we are 27 months after installation and my water heater breaks. They come out and are quoting me $700 to replace a 27 month old hot water heater, that they recommended me replace my already working hot water heater with. They also told me when I purchased a $6000 water refinement system that they would come out and move at no cost whenever we move, well that was not the case and they charged me $800 to move my system 3 miles to my new house which already had an r/o system installed. Here are the things I love about working with this company: - Always talk to a 'live' person when calling - Phone representatives always knowledgeable and helpful - Techs/installers always on time. In fact, two times the tech called to say he could arrive early! - Techs/installers always take the time to explain and show you what is going on with issue - If appropriate, offer options for fix without pressure to take most expensive option. Yes, it's possible you pay more, but I like the peace of mind that comes with knowledgeable staff (both phone staff and techs/installers), they arrive on time and just feels like no hassle when scheduling and getting it done. read more

When my water heater rusted out at the bottom and needed to be replaced, they came right out to replace it. I have had them do plumbing and HVAC, too. I haven't had a negative experience at all. They provide pictures of my jobs and explain everything. Everyone is polite and courteous. I just moved and I will be using them in my new home. There are always people who expect perfection. You can't please everyone. You can't even please some folks regardless of what you do. I have worked with HVAC companies and utilities and I have been very pleased with Parker & Sons in everything that I have had them do. They don't deserve ANY stars! My experience with them yesterday was an absolute nightmare. I have two AC/heat units on my home which were older, and they replaced one in March without incident. I finally got an appointment to get the other one replaced yesterday, the techs arrived early without giving me any notice but fortunately I had gotten home from work early. While they were doing the install an electrician showed up - I did not ask for one nor did I know one was coming. He asked me if my husband was here, which was quite condescending as I am a big girl and not only pay the bills but make my own decisions. Supposedly they were checking my electrical to "protect my investment" and he handed me an estimate for $10K+. I told him, and the people in the office, that absolutely nothing had been done to my electric between March and now, so if there was a problem why didn't they tell me in March? They had to turn the breaker off to install the unit in March, and it ran during the heat of the summer. I was told that they electricians don't always have free time but this time they did so sent one out. Again, under the guise of "protecting my investment." I won't even get into the other problems because smoke is coming out of my ears now. My translation - our electricians aren't so busy now and we are trying to manipulate or scare you into spending even more money with us! I must have talked to 3-4 people before someone finally seemed to understand my perspective. I will NEVER trust this company and I am very worried that they will actually honor the warranties. I have scheduled an electrician I trust to come out and check out all the things they wanted to do, and saved the estimate but I will never make the mistake of trusting Parker and Sons. read more

We called Parker & Sons to replace a broken garbage disposal. The company was professional when scheduling the appointment, and the tech showed up on time and was very courteous. HOWEVER, their pricing was just over the top expensive. The quote to replace the garbage disposal with a new 3/4 HP unit was $887 - WOW! We did some research. It should take a knowledgeable professional less than 1 hour to install a new garbage disposal unit. That breaks down to about $210 (retail price) for the garbage disposal they were suggesting and around $650/hour for the labor. We said no thanks to that quote and called another reputable company. They arrived in under 2 hours, took less than 30 minutes to do the replacement, and it only cost $500. read more

our water heater had been leaking for a while, but was getting worse, went thru Home Depot to start and got a return call within an hour of putting in the request. Parker and Sons made the appt for the next day and Marco showed up for the 10-2 appt at 10 AM, he called 1st to let us know he was on his way. Looked at my WH which had been installed in 2001, yup 23 yrs old. so the piping was out of code, by noon the installers were out with my new water heater and all the replacement parts, installed all the new pipes and part, and even gave me an assist replacing the tile that was bad underneath it. looks really good and clean up every thing. Called for a small leak repair. In the process they ran their camera in the sewer line and then said there was a hole in the line. Quote to repair was $12,700. I decided to get other quotes. Got two estimates. One ran his camera into the line (for free) and said, he couldn't find a hole. Both said, "if it ain't broke, don't fix". But they both gave me quotes to replace the line: one $3,800 and the other $4,000. Parker and Sons - honesty and price gouging are not good business practices. This past June my A/C froze up. Called Parker and sons to come look at it/repair it. A service man named Richard showed up and sat in his truck for 45 mins eating his lunch. He finally came in to tell me I needed a part that he never identified and it was going to cost me 3800.00. This Richard wasn't even here for more then 5 mins. He stated without me purchasing this said part there was nothing he could do for me and left. I called DAL A/C they came right over and told me I needed to have it recharged. No part needed. We just had our air conditioners checked by Parker & Sons. Our technician was John Carnelia. We received a call when he was on the way and then a text message with information and his credentials. Part of the text was, "I believe in the golden rule, I treat my customers how I wish to be treated." Boy, was that true! He was fantastic! He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. John did not find any problems so there was no charge since we have their plan where they check our units twice a year. Since he had to get up into the attic, he noticed our light bulb was out and told us and put a new one in while he was up there. Amazing customer service! read more

I was part of their VIP Member service plan, WOW what a complete waste of money! I bought a new kitchen faucet and called them to see how much it would cost for them to install it. They refused to give me a quote on the phone, but sent a plumber out to give me a quote. $470!!!! To install a faucet? I called my ex husband (who is not a plumber but does have tools) who came by and had the faucet replaced in 30 minutes. This is hi-way robbery. When I spoke to a supervisor about his price gouging, he claims that they quote the price high and then if it only takes 30 minutes then they don't charge you that much. Yeah Right, funny how the plumber did not mention that fun fact when he was here. I am sure he would have said "Gee that was easy let me just knock some money off" I will never use them again and I canceled my VIP plan. Thank you so much for fixing my air conditioner. Not only was the guy very skillful but courteous at same time. My homeowners insurance sent out another company Sub Zero Mechanical LLC. They were sent sent to my home twice.. The first timehe serviced it, it blew out 10 min after he drove away. The 2nd time he stated I needed freon which (according to my insurance co,) was going to cost me $1100. I called Parker & Sons who came very highly recommended, I see why. I now have working air. I am getting ready to sell my home and requested estimates from Parker and Sons for several projects. Four technicians were supposed to show up on one day to give us quotes. One technician no called and no showed. When I called to complain, they told me it would be several days until they could have someone come out. That didn't work for me because I was on a tight timeline with the sale of my house, which I explained to them. Against my better judgment (and mostly because they said they would give me 15% off both jobs), we decided to move forward with hiring two technicians to complete jobs at the home - plumbing and HVAC. The plumber was scheduled to come out on Monday and he no called no showed. The company gave me a difficult time with rescheduling the job within a few days, but ended up getting something on the calendar for Wednesday (I thought this would be convenient as the HVAC technician was scheduled for Wednesday at the same time). Both technicians were scheduled to arrive between 2 and 6. The plumber called at 9, which messed up my schedule for the day. The HVAC technician no called no showed, despite the fact that I called 3 times to confirm that they would be sending someone out during the 2-6 window. I will never use Parker and Sons again. Selling a home is stressful and they have made it so much worse. read more

Our AC went out on 7/3/2021. Parker and Sons were able to get a tech out that same, in the summer, on a holiday weekend. The tech was able to get the AC going again, but this was a temporary fix for our 25 year old unit. On 7/5 a rep came out inspected our current unit and gave us a quote for a whole new system. It was installed 3 days later. The rep that quoted us was professional, honest, and a no-b.s. type of guy, which we respected. We can't thank the two technicians that spent 10 hours installing out unit and rerouting out previous air ducts for superior airflow. I can't imagine the task was easy when it was well over 100°!!! Our new ac system is quiet and the airflow is amazing. Plus we don't have to worry about a thing moving forward with the amazing warranty and maintenance package. I was also impressed that they had another rep come back and fix the drywall that was moved to get the unit into the house. Thank you all at Parker and Sons! Today I requested a quote to install a tankless water heater. The P&S technician came and sent me 2 quotes. The 1st quote was just to install a tankless water heater $2,983. The 2nd quote was to include the tankless water heater plus installation $7,761. The tankless water heater they recommended only cost around $2,000. Do P&S really think consumers are that stupid? Overall I think P&S is an overpriced and try to rip people off company. I would not recommend P&S to anyone, stay away from them. read more
