Outstanding service! We heard about this Tucson company through my father-in-law who usually meticulously researches businesses. He used them for my sister-in-laws AC issues and they did a great job. Recently, our AC unit of 20 years plus started to die. We decided to reach out and book a service through them, and we were really pleased by their fantastic communication. Additionally, they were super professional, thorough, and provided all the information, steps of installation, and worked within our budget. I was especially impressed by the fact they used shoe covers when coming into our house. Installation day we left the house and entrusted them to install everything. It was a three person team and they managed to complete the job in four hours! They even cleaned up after themselves. My husband and I have used this company for years. When my nephews AC went out he call another local company and was told after replacing the motor, his entire unit needed replaced. I told him to have Temperature Control come out Tony came out and found the motor was running backwards. They just saved my nephew 18k . New A/C unit works great! Cost was mid-range. They come every six months and do a servicing included and change the filter out. The install was smooth and everything explained well throughout the purchasing process. They were on time and communicated well. Cleaned up after themselves. We also had them come out for some plumbing problem in the kitchen. This process was ok. A little on the expensive side for a new kitchen faucet and labor I wasn't too impressed but I guess things are more money these days too. The job itself was well done and the faucet was nice. Might have been some up-charge because they got the faucet themselves. Good company overall. Would call again. read more

If I could give Temperature Control negative stars I would. I can't believe how badly we've been scammed by you. Our A/C has been working perfectly all summer, not one problem. Your company called to see if we wanted to have our air conditioner checked because we pay over $600 per year for your emergency service. Since it's been an extremely hot summer, we decide to have you come out on Friday to just see how everything was working. Your technician Tyler said everything was working great! He gave us some maintenance suggestions to extend the life of our air conditioner, but other than that everything was perfect. Not but 24 hours later our A/C stops working in the middle of the night. You have got to be kidding me! What did he do to our Air Conditioner to have it stop working? Well, since we have the emergency service we called you at midnight, your technician on call never bothers to calls us. So, we get through the 1st night without any air conditioning and I call at 6AM - saying why hasn't anyone called us or come out. Long story short, WE ARE NOW GOING ON OUR 3RD NIGHT WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!! We have a Bulldog and a Senior over 80. How in the world can you live with yourself to do this to your customers? I've called now twice to have a supervisor call me and still nothing. We just spent $6,000 on a home water system with your business. You are the biggest scam of a company that I've ever delt with. Shame on you!!!!! How can you sleep at night knowing you've left your customers with no air conditioning when the temperatures are well over 100 degrees? Be careful using this company especially when it comes to service contracts and new install. They will sell you anything and not give the service. 10 year maintenance contract and they said the compressor was leaking oil. I think they bait and switched and out the oil on it. When I went to another company for a new unit it was $3000 cheaper and a better warranty. They refuse to refund service contract remaining 3 years. They missed at least 2 service appointments and always tried to sell me extra stuff. Be cautious. read more

I waited about a month before posting this to give the company time to 'make it right'. As you can tell by my star rating, I am less than satisfied. I'll start off by explaining that I am a repeat customer. I purchased an AC unit from Temperature Control about 8 years ago for a condo I owned at the time. I had wonderful service and the tech was extremely informative. So I made a mistake by using them again without reading recent reviews. Temperature Control has zero accountability for their mistakes. I purchased their top of the line 19 seer Bosch unit. They came out two days later to install during a heatwave. The technician came inside multiple times not looking all that well saying "I am not doing well. I need to sit down". I told him to take a break, gave him water and his response was 'boss doesn't let us take breaks' walking back outside. The job was finished 2 hours earlier than the time he told me it would take and the metal bracket that the unit sits on was 2 hours late. However, I was satisfied... until it rained. The following day we had monsoon rains and it rained down my walls, out of air duct vents and was coming out of the baseboards. I spent a couple hours mopping while waiting for a Temperature Control tech to come out. The tech gets here and takes a look at the install. Immediately he comes inside to show me photo's and said "this is my fourth call today from a bad install". The photo's showed 1 inch gaps in the roof of my house and air duct where the water was pouring in. In the following weeks I had Steamy Concepts out almost everyday to check the moisture in the walls. They left 5 huge blower fans which had to be powered on 24/7 for a little over a week pulled out baseboards and took a chuck out of my wall and ceiling. They also can't schedule those visits so they only give a 20-30 min window before arrival. On multiple occasions I had to drive home to meet the Steamy Concepts technician. After Steamy Concepts took their equipment back and said someone would come out to patch the walls and ceiling and reinstall baseboards. Two days later I had to call to ask when they were planning on coming out and I got a call the following day scheduling the work. The company that does the renovation is Royalty Renovations. They were the only positive part of this experience. The guy was nice, respectful and repainted when I asked him to fix the paint drips all over the place. It has been a little over a month since the initial install and the company does not care about the time/money I lost/spent cleaning the mess caused by their technician. Installation Manager, Tony told me to text him directly for any problems but he doesn't respond. The General Manager, Jason called me and asked what I think is an acceptable price that they should pay for what I am out of pocket. I told him that I can't provide that until the problem is resolved but he pushed for a price. The amount I gave him was about 5% of what I paid and he came back saying that they would do 2.5%. Not interested in the back and forth, I declined sticking to the 5% as that was much less than lost wages and time I spent driving to and from my house for all the appointments. This should have been complete in 3 visits by Temperature Control but instead took 16 from 3 different companies. Anytime I ask Temperature Control why I am the one having to follow up they push the blame to Steamy Concepts and Royalty Renovations saying they should have contacted me. I called on 7/30 and spoke to a receptionist explaining the situation and also told her I would like a refund for the duct blast($428) and duct cleaning($495), since that is a service I paid for and never received. I asked about it on three separate occasions and nobody had gotten back to me to set that up. She told me she would reach out to Jason to let him know and that he won't be in office until about noon since he is offsite. I said that was fine and here I am sitting two days later still waiting for a call. The company is just not what is used to be. I would be hesitant to recommend Temperature Control even as a last resort. read more

Left my 80 y/o parents at home without working A/C because the thermostat didn't work over the 4th of July weekend only to return call 3 days later to say we need to find a thermostat that fits your unit... on Monday morning returns call and then says I don't know if I can get out because I've already done all my hrs today... maybe I can can come by after 8 at night. While they did show up on the 4th when said and quasi diagnosed the problem these are elderly customers who had the unit installed by this company and have been religious about the service agreement they paid for. On top of this my father is a 30 year military veteran and 20 yr AZ law enforcement officer. Least I can say is I would expect more. read more

I recently had to replace my compressor for my 27 year old AC unit and have been collecting quotes for a replacement. I contacted Temperature Control for a quote for a new unit. Alan was the salesman. He has seemingly not spoken to many women based on our interactions. I am a 33F. 1) He advised me not to get more quotes than the 3 I had so I would not become confused. 2) He complained about me using Angie's list as they charge $150 per job listing contact. 3) He would ask me if I had questions, interrupt me while I was asking the question and then not fully answer my question. 4) I asked about adding a register he said it was not doable. When I mentioned the other companies said they would not only suggest one, but be able to add it to our master bedroom, he then said it was not necessary and dismissed the question. With prompting he said he would maybe be able to ask a technician. 5) He said, "It is funny that the wife is handling the quote". When I asked him why that was funny, he said that the husbands normally handled these things. I reminded him that it is my money that I am spending, so I get to handle the project and choose what suits my family's needs the best. 6) When I was contacted by the rep later to see if I would be taking the quote, I told her why I would not be moving forward with the company. She was very apologetic but added that "our salesmen prefer to have the decision maker present for the quotes" but that this behavior was not a good example of the company. Our AC unit was not cooling and it was after normal business hours. We called and they sent Tyler out. He arrived on time and thoroughly inspected and repaired our unit. Tyler was very professional, safe, and a true customer service-minded technician, explaining in basic terms the repair. The repair was a warranty item they honored it at no charge. Researched later the part was less than $100 AND it took him 10 minutes to replace. This was even with service contract. He mentioned it would be free if I extended contract. So HAPPY I did not do that. They are WAAAAY overpriced. Don't make my mistake . I do NOT recommend Temperature Control. read more

SCAMMERS. We asked them to come out and give us an estimate for replacing existing units because they are in a state of disrepair. We clearly articulated, we do not need a diagnostic, we just need an estimate and they agreed. They said there wouldn't be a charge. However, they came out, gave us one estimate and still charged us for the diagnostic. We called them to ask them to remove the charges and they refused, saying they had to charge us anyway. But, that goes against what we agreed to beforehand. If we had known they'd charge us $135, we wouldn't have asked them to come out. So, be careful, they'll say one thing and do another. read more

Temperature Control quickly answered the call for help, scheduled an appointment, came on time, quickly assessed the damaged with a free visit and provided a free estimate, called to give complete assessment of the damage and what needed to be done, gave the estimate, and confirmed that I wanted them to go ahead with the repair. They did the repair completely and competently and efficiently. They worked with me on the cost. Very pleased with the quality of their service and do not hesitate to recommend them. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? These guys are con artists!! I received an unsolicited "free" AC inspection from HVAC contractor Temperature Control. I was suspicious, so I checked and they have a high BBB rating. I like free, so I consented to the inspection. The tech had all kinds of high tech equipment that showed Freon levels on his smart phone and an electronic sniffer to detect Freon leaks. He convinced me that I had a Freon leak in my coils and I had 3 choices: 1. Put in some leak sealant and new Freon. This would cost me about $1,365 and probably wouldn't work. 2. Put in new coils, if he could even find the coils for my old (26 years) unit at an estimated cost of $2,900 to $3,900. 3. Buy a new unit for about $10,000. I concluded that I was going to have to buy a new unit because who would want to invest $2,900 to $3,900 into a unit that was far past its expected lifetime (18 years). The good news is that we have an excellent home warranty provider 2-10 that covers up to $2,000 toward the new unit. They sent out a tech ($85) to check out the unit. The tech did a thorough analysis and said that there was no Freon leak and that the air conditioner was working perfectly!! I filed a complaint with BBB to tell them to reconsider their high rating of these con artists!! read more

This past week, one of our new AC began blowing 99 degree air. The thermostat had gone offline. I reset it and set the air to cool. The system continued to blow 99 degree air. I could not shut it off. I called the company and advised about the hot air issue, and that there was a pregnant woman in the house. They immediately responded and sent a tech within 30 minutes. David Keesler arrived and started right away. He first worked on at least getting that unit turned off. He then began troubleshooting the issue. He worked diligently to find a solution keeping us informed the entire time. And he wished all the dads a Happy Father's Day. After much diligence, David was able to resolve the issue and get the system working properly. David was professional, informative and diligent. I was completely stressed out, and his confidence helped me calm down. I cannot verbalize how much I appreciate his effort. read more

All I can say is magnificent--we had our unit hit by monsoon electricity and wiped out--they came out and diagnosed and made sure that we had the documentation for insurance. The bid was good, the representative Justin--estimator was fair and explained everything. We pulled the trigger for the new unit--the folks came--Claudio was our primary installer--he was terrific--they arrived at 8am as promised and we were all done by 120 in the afternoon--cooling as we speak--I can't say enough nice things about them--the quality and professionalism. Will refer to my clients for the future. I recommend if you are just starting to ask for Justin--gives you what you need and doesn't bog you down in details unless requested. Before he passed, he sold the business to an employee, who is more focused on profit than building business relationships with his employees and customers. So in brief, bought a unit from temperature control in late 2016 early 2017 for about 8thousand, in 7 years I've had to pay almost 6thousand dollars in repairs. All they did to our unit was band-aid fixes. Made 2 calls to the company, as the unit took a crap, had no heat this winter (2023) no call from the company to see if they could assist. When the call came to do the summer check, I canceled indefinitely, told the lady if thr owner was concerned, he could call. Still waiting to tell him why, guess losing a customer is not high on there priority list. I'll end saying BUYER BEWARE read more

Most companies would never think to do such a great safety precaution. They were so careful to not damage or dirty anything and were super polite. They answered all my questions and followed through. The Temperature Control team- Eddie, Tim and Justin- is is one of the smartest, honest and most diligent working repair teams, that I had the honor to monitor, as they replaced my fifty year old, plugged water line in my house. As pipe under the sink failed in 2009, we replaced the old drain and rebuilt the brick wall. We knew one day we would have to replace the kitchen water line running through this 50 yr old house. After requesting 10 different contractors, we chose "Temperature Control", a company that Rosie on the house recommends" as our contractors for this monumental and expensive task. They arrived with masks on, pulled the old bushes, dug the the new drain line in the garden, cut the cement in front of the house. They laid tarps as they dug up the garden soil, and prevented deep staining to my concrete driveway. Justin & Tim filled and leveled the cement after the new water line from the kitchen was laid They stood out as very hard workers and such professionalism. I asked lots of questions as to the materials, methods and reasons that they utilized, to complete our new water line. They installed a clean out for future access. The second day they glued the new ABS water line together, drilled the new water line through the garage wall, strapping the line with metal supports and strapping's. Eddie & Tim finally sealed all pipe openings with anti pest foam. They didn't waste any time, as they were focused and driven to complete the job. The team didn't even take a lunch or break the last day on the this two day job. We have been with out kitchen line since 23 Dec 2020. Eddie was the crew chief, warm, sweet and very funny. He was like a big brother, ensuring a perfect result. Always there and running for tools, that were required, to cut through big tree roots, old sewer pipes, and fifty year old brick. They didn't miss a beat! After spending 20 years in the military, my expectations were very high. They met and surpassed them. I will always praise technicians who are not only professional in their work ethics but in their professional work relationships. This company also provided a financial, affordable monthly payment plan not offered by any other visiting contractor. Wow! What awesome company. Daniel came out to our home today to do the yearly maintenance on our A/C unit. I was blown away with his attention to detail and the information he shared about maintaining my AC. Today he taught me how to clean the coils on my AC and it is something I will do moving forward. In addition he also took the time to add insulation on the line for the AC which will help my system work better. I can add a couple more things he did but trying to keep this review simple. This company is great and Daniel is an awesome Technician. In my experience here in Tucson I never used the same company twice. tl;dr I can't say enough good things about this company, full stop. I've been having MASSIVE issues with my HVAC system, like whoa. I've had several of their people out to my house to get me sorted, including twice when they came out simply to tweak stuff that I didn't know how to do. Every person they sent has been friendly and respectful and before each visit I was sent a text with the name and picture of the person I'd be working with. They've only charged me for the actual work they did and their pricing was comparable to what I found elsewhere. There were several things they recommended but they let me know which were important and which were optional/could wait - I didn't get a hard sell on literally anything, even the work that definitely needed doing. As a single mom with 3 kids it's a big deal to know my money was well-spent and that I can trust the work. They took me through every issue they diagnosed, in detail. Offering to take me on to the roof to see/verify what they found, taking videos/pics to show me, drawing diagrams, explaining it all in layman's terms so I could understand their recommendations - at no point did I walk away feeling like I was having to just take their word for it. Also, as a woman, I want to point out that they spoke to me exactly like my male friend - I never felt like I was being talked down to in any way. They really went the extra mile for me, squeezing me in to their schedule and following up with me after every step (this took 3 separate appointments *not* including the diagnostic). Definitely give these guys a call, I won't be going anywhere else for HVAC work. read more
