Not even deserving of 1 STAR- This is for the New Location in Shelton. Bad service, women bartenders that are overwhelmed. Over priced wine... I hate bartenders measuring wine, not very professional! Offering 2 sizes of wine is lame. Staff is very inexperienced and very young. Menu was unappealing to say the least. Had one tiny, over priced glass of wine, even pricy for so called Happy Hour and left. We will never go again. read more

The food is awful, they charge you to use a Credit Card and if course if you try to use a gift card their card reader won't work so your forced to pay the full bill for the awful food and have to come back to use the gift card. Great find thanks to the Yelp community. I was in the area and searching for a dinner spot when I stumbled upon Parker. The vibe here was nice, the food (pear & goat cheese pizza, make your own salad) was great, and the staff were very helpful. I liked the wine menu as well. They serve half price bottles on Sunday and the Parker pinot noir was quite good (at a great price, only $18 on Sunday!). I especially appreciate that they serve their wine in Riedel glasses which is a great detail that most restaurants serving wine miss the mark on. read more

We have been to and loved all three locations of Parker, so decided to try the new Shelton location on our anniversary. What a mistake! If was akin to a British pub during football; so loud we couldn't even have a conversation, but did hear, with absolute clarity, the family over in the corner celebrating two adult birthdays! The waitress was excellent but both the kitchen and the bar got our order wrong so she offered us complimentary desserts. When we extended our thanks to the management, she indicated, without saying a word, that she was the one extending (and paying for) them. BTW, the food and were good, even great, but we'll never go back. read more

An upscale-feeling bar/restaurant in a strip mall in Stratford. Hey, why not? It's got a nicely designed interior with subdued lighting and attention to detail. We met friends there on a Friday night for cocktails and appetizers. It was busy, but relaxed, with a friendly waitstaff. As a starter, we were given warm, homemade bread sticks with a white bean hummus. The bread was tender and griddled on one side. We ordered a couple of apps and some prosecco. We got shrimp skewers which came with a delicious curry/coconut sauce, and fried calamari which was quite tasty--a light, crispy cornstarch-based coating. We put the curried sauce on the calamari (is that cheating?), but the calamari sauce was good (not a marinara--something asian-y, but less remarkable/memorable than the sauce meant for the shrimp). Definitely worth returning to for a full meal and/or to meet up with folks for drinks and apps again. A band was just starting before we left, and they were good. read more

I happened to be in stratford for work recently ... read a few review on this place and it didn't disappoint. Very trendy restaurant / bar with a great menu, helpful & friendly staff ... the bartender made me feel like i was a regular there. I was impressed with the food - I got the BBQ ribs and did not expect much in from a restaurant in Connecticut; however, the BBQ sauce was outstanding. There was plenty of meat on the ribs and the portion was very generous ... all and all I was very satisfied. When i go back to that area for work, I will be back to try more of the menu. This is a nice place. The decor is very comfortable and casual. It's a little loud and a little crowded but the people are very friendly and the food is quite good. I had an excellent steak here and I tell everyone not to miss the lamb lollipop appetizer! The meatloaf and fish tacos are very good and the mix n match salad is a great idea. I like to sit at the bar when there's room and watch a game while I destroy the lamb lollipops and a couple beers. All in all, I think this is one of the better places in Stratford. Just don't expect to have a quiet conversation! read more

I tried this place out about five times because I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, I never loved a meal here. The boneless wings were probably the worst item I've had; awful, dry and not warm. The first time I went for lunch and got the thanksgiving wrap with sweet potato fries [fries were great] the wrap seemed to be missing something [ I really liked similar items at other places before and this one seemed a bit plain]. The second time I went for dinner and I got the butternut squash raviolis [which are a favorite of mine so I was really looking forward to them]. They also were good, but not great and for $16 I expected a bigger portion they were small and I think there was a total of 5 or 6 of them...I need more than that for dinner! This has continued to be my experience there no matter what I try. I've since decided it's not worth it to return. read more

Seafood Bisque - 6/10 - well made with a variety of seafood as well as corn and mushrooms. Wild Mushroom Meatloaf - 7/10 - the mushroom sauce was delicious. The meatloaf is good but somewhat dry without the sauce. More sauce would improve this dish. Duck Breast with Mushroom Risotto - 7/10 - duck was perfectly cooked and delicious. The Risotto does have mushrooms but their flavor is not infused into the rice and is not really detectable in the dish. read more

Parker's was a gem! Very hip and contemporary feel to it with the set up and decor. The wait staff was very friendly, helpful and fast. Great place to relax and have dinner with someone special- or in my case experience high quality in my surroundings to make my mediocre company more tolerable! Cool bar as well if you want to just grab a drink. The flavors in all their courses was extremely good. The lamb lollipops as an appetizer were cooked to perfection and the dipping sauce complimented it nicely. They had a neat whiskey martini special that was unique and tasty. I had the french dip sammie and it took my breath away. Definitely going to come back! read more

Stopped into Parker for a late lunch and really enjoyed it. The ambiance is great, very modern and fun and the menu had a nice selection of lunch fare that all sounded pretty tasty. Prices were pretty reasonable (12-16 bucks depending). I ordered the mix n match salad and I was obsessed with it. Its so hard to find places that have good salad options and its annoying when you have to nonstop edit a salad on a menu because the set choices are not what you want. Instead of your typical salad options Parker has a sheet at the table and you check everything you want in your salad and there are tons of ingredients to pick from. Its a set price so you can pile on everything you want (besides additional protein) if you are so inclined. Seriously, all restaurants need to start doing this salad checklist concept, get on it people!!! Can't give a full 5 stars because service was lacking. The place was almost empty when we showed up and the food took a really long time even though one of the items we ordered was a salad. Our server was not super attentive either (no offer to refill my drink etc). Not a huge deal as we enjoyed our experience overall but we were in a bit of a time crunch and it did take away a teensy bit. If you are in the area Parker is a great spot for a meal. read more

My husband and I have been wanting to come try Parker before they even moved to the new location. We came here last night for dinner and we love the new location, it's chic and modern with perfect lighting. Great menu! For a drink I had the autumn heat and it was amazing perfect amount of sweetness and heat! We shared the tuna tartare app and it was different from any other we've had loved the sweetness to it. For dinner my husband had the swordfish special which was cooked perfectly, I had the short rib taco special which was an app and an app pear salad as my dinner. We were too full for dessert, but looked at the menu which had good offerings. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back! read more

The service was fast and friendly. The bread with hummus was really good. The bread was nice and warm and soft. Probably the best thing of the evening. My aunt and I ordered the lamb lollipop. Since my aunt doesn't eat anything rare, we ordered in medium well. To the chef's credit, the temperature was spot on. The dipping sauce was a bit blend but the lamb was good. For entree, My aunt ordered the shrimp and clam with pasta. She liked the pasta but found sand in her claim. I ordered the short rib. I like the ribs but the vegetables that came with them were just okay. The dessert menu is displayed as pictures on an iPad. Nothing on the dessert menu really spoke to me so we just ordered a cappuccino. The cappuccino came with a biscotti and a sugar stirring stick, which I really liked. So this will be my first yelp review ever.. but my Experience was so bad I had to comment. I have come to this location several times over the course of the last few months.. and have been to the other locations over the years... we have consistently been met with decent(not great) food.. and pretty good floor service. The issue with us comes from management.. or lack there of... no one is ever at the door, when food or service is slow... zero attention. The owner is extremely "confident"... we will just leave it there with that...(tight muscle shirts may make you think you are the man.. but maybe put a button down on and focus on your customers ).... overall just not a great experience ... location is awful.. behind a vacant building.. food and wine prices are "Greenwich-esqe"...would not recommend ... 0/10 read more

Wouldn't waste any of my money here. Ordered food the other night to feed the family when the power went out and when I came home I realized the amount of protein on the salad was not even 3 slices of chicken AND it was overcooked. For the $6 extra for protein you would expect it to be a good portion size. When I called to ask about portion size the manager was not helpful at all and basically said that ALL OF THE PROTEIN IS PRE PACKAGED!!!! We yelped this place on the way from Baltimore to home. So glad we stopped in. The atmosphere is trendy...new American. The service was very good. I had the BBQ ribs which were very good, my sister had the daily special which I can't remember what it was but she liked it. I do remember my dessert..a molten cake with black raspberry ice cream. Yummy. I stopped getting molten cakes after being disappointed several times But not this one. Recommend. My sister got the banana crème pie that she loved. This is a long overdue follow up. Parker has been our home away from home. You cannot come to the area and not stop here for dinner or a drink. Our favorites are the French dip, fresh salads, fish sandwich, flatbreads, and of course the salted caramel cake (put it on the menu more please!). We consistently enjoy the food and ambiance here and I know I reviewed it some time ago but...Hey...did I mention the salad!! Last night being August it felt time to revert to the salad. Asked the server if they could chop it and with a 'Yes' I was on a roll. Great assortment of ingredients including mandarin oranges and apples that perfectly complimented the delicious rare tuna on top. My generous bowl arrived tossed with exactly the right portion of balsamic vinagrette. My only regret was that I neglected to ask for a 'take home' on my leftovers. Best food option in the vicinity of Sikorsky Aircraft. Every food I've tried there has been great, from the wings to a French dip sandwich. The decor is really nice too. It looks like it belongs some where nicer than a strip mall nestled up on a hill. If you ever need to grab a meal with a client, this is the go-to. read more

Went on a Sunday around 1 for lunch. Husband and I ordered the mix and match salads. Starts off at $12 but once you add protein its now $18. The salad was fresh although portion somewhat skimpy. Server was pleasant and attentive at first, however after our salads were delivered she didn't come back to check to see if everything was ok until we were just about finished. In a nutshell, it was $48 for 2 salads and 1 coke including tip. The bar was full with 3 or 4 families with school age children - took up most of the bar seats- found that a little strange kids sitting at the bar. One would think a table in the dining room would be more accommodating. There were plenty of tables available. I wont be back. read more

Giving it three stars because three of the four of the people I came in contact with were awesome. One was a bit rude and didn't seem to be enjoying her job much. The food was solid, the drinks were on point so that brought up the score, but I have a slightly bad taste in my mouth from our server. We had a long talk bar table with five adults and five kids (17&18year olds). It was odd, she took the kids order and left. About 15 minutes later she asked "did you guys want get some food " as we sat with our menus waiting. Two people were annoyed and chose not to order at this point so only three of us ordered. The server took the order and walked away, didn't write anything down and seemed distracted. The order came out all at once apps, meals and sides. No big deal but my soup never showed up. It wasn't on the bill, so I didn't bother about it. I just think the young lady had too many tables and not enough help. We'll try it again to see. Stay tuned. read more

Nice decor. We were seated at a table with a bench and I sat on the bench side. Pretty comfy, but the poofy cushion made it hard to slide in and I towered over the table. But small price for comfort. Our waiter was in training so really wasn't very helpful, actually seemed like he had never waited before, but the person training him was excellent. Bread on the table was just sliced focaccia, but instead of butter it was served with white bean hummus which was a nice change and very tasty. Our iced teas came in small juice glasses but was very fresh and strong. The menu is limited and a little on the pricey side; also, not very informative. Like the one chicken dish just listed 'chicken'. But after asking how it was served, it was described in great detail and was delicious. But it was still $20 for half a roasted chicken breast with 1 wing attached, 3 potato slices and nothing else. The saving grace was the most amazing lemon, caper, hot cherry pepper sauce I ever tasted. We also ordered the French dip. It was served on the same focaccia provided on the table. Way too much bread! The sliced meat was tender but au jus had zero flavor and was watery. No sides came with this for $12. So the 3 stars is because the chicken dish was really good and it's cool looking inside. But we kinda left there hungry so not sure whether we'd be back for dinner, but perhaps lunch or just drinks. read more

Went to Parker in the new location for the first time last night. There is a very different feel from the prior location. Much less intimate, much louder because of all the hard surfaces. The service was good and the food was ok, but nothing special, just a little different from what you find get elsewhere. The noise level is what turned me off the most. They need to fix that so that you don't need to shout at the person in front of you. We were sitting at a dining table, not the bar and it was very loud. read more
