Nice little diner. We stopped in for breakfast on an early Sunday morning. The server was friendly and kept the coffee coming! Over medium eggs were perfect, my biscuit was toasted and my husband's pancake was fluffy and tasty. What an awesome local diner! I was skeptical about this place because of the location, but I noticed how busy it was for a Tuesday afternoon. We came inside and were greeted by the friendly host, and immediately sat. The place itself is pretty huge and seats a lot of people. We ended up ordering the country, fried steak, and pancake breakfast. It was a lot of food and we left full and happy! Our server was very sweet and food came out quick. I was genuinely surprised! Classic breakfast/lunch place with absolutely average food. I had breakfast & ordered 'home made Quiche Lorraine'. One of the worst slices of Quiche I've had. It sat 'low' like a slice of pie and tasted like they ground up all the ingredients and poured them into a pie mold. Truly bad. Order of Sausage Patties were so over cooked they were like hockey pucks. Forced myself to eat one and then gave up. Sat at the bar - so average bar service - noting great, nothing bad. Went on a Saturday at 11:00 am. They were very busy. We ordered an American Cheese omelet, a Swiss and Mushroom omelet, Veggie Quiche, Pancakes, and the Veggie Wrap. The Omelets were as flat as Crepes. The American Cheese omelet didn't have enough cheese. I can honestly say that 1/3 of the omelet was empty. It tasted okay, but I missed the cheese. Hashbrowns were tasty. Veggie Quiche was pretty good, and the Veggie wrap was good, although not enough cheese in it, too. The Pancakes were just okay. This local cafe is always a pleasure! We've come here mostly for breakfast. We came around lunch time this morning, but my husband was still craving breakfast. He ordered the two pancakes and a side of bacon. I was t hungry much so I ordered a $1 Shock Top. Once he had finished, I was still craving a burger from Friday. So I ordered a cheese burger and asked for only one slice of American cheese instead of the two the put on. This burger was actually better than most burger joints! I would've rather had red onions, but they were white which is still good! Lettuce, tomato, onion a pickle wedge and a side of mayo came as the dressing. The fries were perfect! Crispy, golden and delicious! Add on another $1 Shock Top and was pretty satisfied! Previous times we've come I ordered the gyro omelet, one of the breakfasts that comes with eggs, sausage and pancakes and a western omelette. Never been disappointed by this cafe/diner. Why didn't I order the grilled biscuits? There always seems to be something no matter what we do that would make the experience so much more enjoyable and if we miss it then it becomes less memorable and so average. Well there's no doubt I missed it because average is how I felt while eating here. I'm not an expert on how to assemble a plate especially a breakfast plate and maybe it's not so important that you present a simple omelette and hash-browns with or without an orange slice, because after all it should be about the food although we all want the presentation to be appetizing who cares what it really looks like once the YELP photo is taken. Today's selections Parkside Omelette - a simple 3 chicken egg omelette filled with select pork cuts - bacon - sausage and country ham with melted domestic swiss cheese as advertised, unfortunately the system broke down, and I ended up with American cheese or cheese-wiz which I despise. Hash-Browns - these so resemble home fries... I guess when you've been in business for decades the standards slip a little and the expectations to provide the customer with the best service possible becomes a thing of the past as well. I guess my decision not to order the most unique thing on the menu was the game changer, it certainly wasn't the a four star experience I expected, and to think I could of chosen to stop anywhere I wanted to but settled for average at best. It can be very easy to miss this unassuming little cafe in Pinellis Park but it's worth the stop if you're in the neighborhood. After an overly festive Saturday night, I was on a hunt for a hangover cure and came across this place. We started off with some jalapeno poppers in the hopes a little spice would take my mind off my headache. The poppers were fried perfectly and tasted fresh. For my main course I decided to go for a Greek skillet. This DID NOT disappoint! The gyro meat was spiced perfectly and there was enough hash on the bottom to give me the requisite grease. The eggs on top made the meal. The biscuit was neither here nor there but helped to soak up some left over libations. If you're willing to overlook the dated decor, this place is solid for a meal. They have breakfast all day and 2 for 1 mugs of beer if you need a little hair of the dog (which I did). They've got some pretty snazzy party dude murals up front (photo proof included) and a full selection of pastries to go at the door. read more

We were in the area and came here because of the high yelp reviews. It was a Sunday and it was very busy. I figured this was a good thing. To be fair I would probably give this a 3.5 but as you have it no half stars. For the amount of people here I would think the food was spectacular, and the service amazing. I think the reason why it is so busy is because it's a local spot. Nothing was really extra special otherwise. One thing that was annoying is that our server got our order wrong. We ordered two omelettes and two skillets came out smh. I should have known it was messed up because after I ordered the server asked how I would like my eggs. I got the Greek omelette that ended up being a skillet. It was okay pretty standard. It came with a side of pancake. The pancake wasn't that great. Small and not very flavorful. It tasted like shake n bake pancakes. The prices here are good and I would come here if it was close to me. I don't think I would go out of my way to come here though. What a small town gem this place is! We got a warm welcome when we came in by a sweet lady behind the counter. We were sat fairly quickly even though they appeared to be very busy. The staff worked together like a team and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, it was good but I prefer my Cuban smashed and this one was fluffy. It came with fries and a small side of coleslaw, which was excellent. It had a sweet taste to it but not overly sweet, perfect balance. The fries were seasoned to perfection and fried golden brown with just enough crunch. My friend got a ham, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on Cuban bread. He liked it but we both agreed we would be back and try something different. A waitress walked by with a club sandwich and we were both salivating over it!
