Our first time here and the place was very understaffed. I think they only had one person in the kitchen and one person taking orders and making drinks. At 12:00 there was a line of people waiting to be seated and they had to tell them that they won't be serving any more customers because of how understaffed they were. We waited an hour for the food to come out. When the food did come out I ordered the chilaquiles but it was missing a lot of ingredients like the egg, cilantro, and green sauce (basically every ingredient that makes chilaquiles). My chilaquiles consisted of chicken, chips, sour cream, shredded lettuce, and red hot sauce (I definitely could have made this at home). If you want a good brunch spot in Metuchen, you cannot go wrong with Hatch 44 or Maria's. I would definitely skip this place when compared to other great brunch options in Metuchen. read more

The coffee was strong. The crab and avocado egg rolls were like crab Rangoon x1000. The Orange Chicken wings were crispy and sticky. The star of the show was the Ube French toast. It was light and packed with real ube flavor. Love that they updated their hours to open earlier, we are early brunch people so we've been waiting to try them for a while now. The only complaint we had was the music. I've seen other reviews mention how good it was, today it was not. They were playing a kids bop type playlist that did not match the vibes at all. The food, service and ambiance is 10 out of 10. We tried the Korean sliders, side chick sliders, empanadas, grits, mango mojito mocktail, chai tea and creme brûlée donut. We were driving down 95 and decided to pull off for lunch. My husband found this place and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing. The owner was so kind and attentive. This is closer to a 3. So my wife and I came today, and we were able to sit early before our reservation. That was a good thing. And thank you for that. before we sat though, we were to ask for the QR code to the menu. Usually you would ask the people to look at menu when they sit, not before. Only reason I could think of is no more QR code to give out . Next we waited for a bit to get coffee and OJ. Recommended to share since it is brunch, that's like one of the first thing to ask. Next is the food. We love the pandas waffle. A bit different with flavor. My wife had the empanada enchilada and I had the Humpty Dumpty slider and the Korean spicy slider. I did not know it was 2 sliders each... the sliders was ok. But the burgers taste the same , except for a bit of spicy for the Korean ones. The only negative was the waffle fries. It didn't taste so great, dried and it may seems like been in the deep fryer for awhile... in terms of the ambiance, it's super small. It felt so odd sitting next to a bathroom door, literally feet's away, not yards no kidding. That was a big distraction. Honestly that was the thing that didn't work for us. Maybe it does for others.... But that's our review. For us, we probably won't go back. Hopefully this helps for others read more

Went there today for some lunch/breakfast. It did not disappoint!! I had the empanadas and they were cooked to almost perfection. They came with an au jus and a spicy mayo. I tried it without sauces, then one in the au jus, another in the mayo and the last got an au jus & mayo. It is delicious either way!! Ordered the classic french toast, it was so fluffy, melt in your mouth with or without the syrup! Also, the Humpty Dumpty sliders. They season those patties perfectly. We asked for over easy on the egg, it came all the way done. No body is perfect, but either way, it was still delicious! The seasoning was a pleasant surprise where you couldn't get mad! The waiter was great! He was sweet, nice and made sure we had a clean table. You can sit anywhere, and they do have seating for 6 people. They do have outside seating. The music was perfect, I love the Latin vibe meets the New American Shabby Chic. Met the chef and compliments were flying! I waited about a year to try this place and I was very happy with everything! Their hours are strange and posted only online for now. That is the only issue I have. I walk by there every day and I always wanted to stop in the morning, but they are closed. I will be making a repeat visit again!! read more
